I had it tagged on my Google map to visit for a while now and wasn’t disappointed. I would return in the future. The view on the lake is really nice. We stopped on our way to Oxford with friends.

Very expensive for OK food and OK service. The staff did what they had to do but without a smile. Suspect that means it is not a nice place to work. And now my daughter has been sick this morning having had the pork yesterday.

Phenomenal panoramic views over lake and greenery. The vista is worth the visit alone. Service is good for a busy pub We went for Sunday roast, booking advisable if you want food as it is a very busy spot. The fish and chips were incredible. Sunday roast was good albeit meat portion smaller than comparable pubs. Service was excellent, really lovely and friendly team that helped to correct our orders and brought extra gravy no hassle!

It was a midweek lunch with friends so not very busy on this occasion and hence not much atmosphere. Been before on the weekend and it’s buzzing.

Been here ages but getting disappointed now with the same Menu. Being On a clean diet it’s difficult when they don’t only do salads or a low carb salad. Last time service was poor but always love the atmosphere. It’s pet friendly too which is such a win !

We had a lovely meal with the family. A really nice restaurant which is very suitable for all occasions. The food was very good as was the service. We certainly will return in the near future.

Had an early dinner here recently, lovely location especially when the sun is shinning and lovely views down the valley towards the canal, would be lovely to sit out and eat and drink in the warmer months 3 of us adults had the feather beef of beef which so soft and tender and delicious along with the vegetables, the 2 children had fish and chips and cod gujons, which they also liked All 3 desserts, chocolate brownie, sticky toffee pudding and waffle also went down well Also rhe service by the waitress was attentive and polite I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for either jusf a drink or lunch amd dinner

The Old Orchard ... reliable for a nice lunch in a comfortable setting. Won't blow your mind for the greatest food but perfectly acceptable for a local venue to get together with friends and family.

Had a birthday celebration here with 12 family members and of course the dog too! Waitress was exceptional and accommodating to everyone. Food was absolutely amazing and every dish was brought out at the same time. Lovely setting and open fires burning throughout the pub. Will definitely go again. Highly recommend the steak which was cooked to perfection and steak burgers good too 🙏

Went for Sunday Lunch with family. Really a great welcoming pub. Friendly and accommodating from even before you walk in, with a huge car park and stunning views. Can’t blame them for HS2 blight! Food was excellent and service friendly and very efficient. Will be back!

I have marked a two star for service. The service was actually very good but the delivery of the main meal was 1.5 hours. I think this was a one off and will try them again in the future.

Terrible service from kitchen front of house staff left to make excuses for delays waitedan hour for main course ....so disappointing as it was a dinner for my husbands 75 th birthday

Very happy that the quality of the food has notably increased. The menu offers a range of tasty pub food... and more. The service was friendly and efficient, despite the size of the pub it has quite a cosy atmosphere and an interesting range of ales.

Well organised walk with breakfast and lunch, enjoyable morning out.

NEW UPDATE 13/1/2024 Superb. Just one word sums up the delicious meal six of us enjoyed at the Old Orchard in Harefield today. We each had something different from the menu and all agreed our meals were perfect. Thank you Ben and team for looking after us so well. The service we received was more like we had been used to from this restaurant. Been coming to The Old Orchard (previously Edwins) for more than 20 years. We’ve had birthdays, anniversaries and two wedding receptions here. Beautiful setting and great food served by a lovely team. Thank you all. UPDATE 19/1/2023 received £100 code from manager following telephone call apology. Have a year to use code and will update again after our return meal. 15/1/2023 Whilst the staff were friendly we had to work hard at getting their attention for service for each course and drinks. The food was hot and ’looked delicious’, but the roast beef was inedible and I couldn’t even cut it with a knife, what I did manage to tear apart was chewy. The children’s chicken goujons were over cooked and dry, the children didn’t finish them so the adults nibbled bits. We asked for fries instead of chips and the children were served with big chunky chips. My grandson ordered a side of pigs in blankets and only half had bacon wrapped around! One friendly waiter stunk of cigarettes as he leaned over my granddaughter and myself, obviously just had a cigarette break. The glasses looked like they needed a good polish. After asking twice for tap water it finally arrived. When we arrived we asked if a particular dessert was still on the menu and we’re told there was plenty, however when we tried to order we were told it was all gone. Perhaps if we hadn’t had to wait for service so long each time, we might have got it. Also not good stock planning if they ran out! The desserts we did order were fine, but we had to wait for cutlery to eat it and no clean napkins were given and no dessert forks, only spoons. There were nine of us. We’ve been customers for 20+ years and this was a poor show. Also the first time I didn’t leave a tip. So disappointing.

Lunch for 4 at The Old Orchard in Harefield. Our order- starters of the squid and Pigs in Blankets, mains of a fish & chips, the steak burger, the pork belly, sausage & mash and we shared a dessert of the sticky toffee pudding. Always impressed by the quality of the food and lovely customer service. Our guests always are impressed and we’re pleased it’s just a 15mins drive for us. Highly recommended.

We did have to send some food back but it was no problem and sorted quickly by fresh plates being prepared

Went here for Christmas day . The staff could Not have been more welcoming . The Christmas lunch was great I went traditional I had the Turkey and all the trimmings. Christmas pudding was probably the best Christmas pudding I ever had. I have only one complaint not haveing chilled Champagne or white wine. It's Christmas you should always have chilled champagne or white wine .And spend some money on Ice bucket stands putting the buckets on the floor is an accident waiting to happen. The orchard would have to got five stars all round if it wasn't that.P.s book early for Christmas ⛄🎄🎅👍

We arrived at the old orchard to find the table that had been designated to us had been given to someone else, so we followed the waitress to another table that had people sitting at it, they were asked to move to another table. All very disorganised. Also where we were going to sit was so much quieter, as it was we could barely hear each other.

A big thank you to ALL the staff at the Old Orchard for making Christmas Day so special. ALL of the staff went the extra mile creating a warm, friendly and cosy atmosphere on Christmas Day. The service was attentive and efficient. The food was excellent - all 3 courses extremely tasty and well portioned. We came out stuffed! It felt like a big feast at home without all the hard work. Christmas hats off to all the staff who gave up their Christmas Day to make ours so special. A true memorable and special Christmas because of the efforts you went to. Thank you and well done. We will be back for our 3rd Xmas soon.

1st visit to the pub and it definitely won't be the last. The food was excellent, my group had the Turkey dinner and the fish and chips. Service was also very good , friendly, and attentive staff . A traditional pub complete with log fire. Great views It's a bit of a trek for us but definitely worth it.

ABSOLUTELY SUPERB !!! Came here last night for a family celebration, and was blown away by the atmosphere , quality of food and service !!! Hadn’t been here for over 40 years ( which was a works do , when the entertainment was an unknown Harry Hill !! ), but our family were meeting my cousin and his wife before they went abroad for a few months ! From walking in the door , the atmosphere was brilliant , beautifully decorated, with a roaring log fire, lovely bar , and lovely relaxed layout . The restaurant is also dog friendly, with treats and water bowls made available if required There was plenty of choice on the menu for all of us, which included 3 vegetarians. The Prawn Pil Pil starter was gorgeous ! I then had the pork belly with fresh vegetables and black garlic dressing, which was outstanding, my Cousin had the braised shoulder of lamb, and vegetarians a couple of dishes including the tortellini, which were all excellent !! The vegetables were as fresh as they possibly could be, with decent portions , and beautifully presented ! For pudding the choice was just as good, with the waffles, panettone bread and butter pudding and ice cream ( never seen so many options in a restaurant ! ) all absolutely brilliant ! To top everything off, the level of service from everyone was outstanding !!! The staff (special mention for Michaela) were all excellent ! Every care was taken to ensure we were satisfied with everything throughout the evening, their knowledge of the food and ales was brilliant, and when I mentioned it was my cousin’s birthday, the opportunity to decorate his panettone with a candle and sing happy birthday was not missed, but Michaela made certain we were all happy with this beforehand , just exemplified the quality of the staffing !! I can honestly say, it is without doubt one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in years , and it certainly will not be another 40 years before we return !!! Simply Brilliant !!!

The food was delicious. My wife had the lamb and I had the chicken chasseur pie. Good sized portions, The beer and wine was good and the pub was warm. The staff were attentive. Our friends enjoyed it as well what more could you want.

First time visiting The Old Orchard! I felt like I was in the countryside, lovely view and outdoor space. The food was lovely, especially the Crispy squid, sweet chilli mango. The staff were very friendly, polite, and attentive. Would definitely visit again!👍🏽

A lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Great food choices.

A traditional pub overlooking amazing views of the Broadwater Lake Nature Reserve. It is a hidden gem of a place, you wouldn't know it is there as it's set back from the main road. We have been here many times as staff and menu never disappoint. The menu has a range of choices, including gluten-free and vegan options too. I had the gluten free chicken pie and my friend had the vegan Shepard's pie.... delicious! 😋 We went for a pleasant walk afterwards, along the Harefield Locks.

I'm only reviewing the food.. service and inside table.. Good ain't cheap.. £20+ for a roast.. beef a bit chewy.. 3 roast potatoes.. average.. Yorkshire pud and veg.. On a whole the food was alright but not worth the money in my opinion.. Table was as expected.. uneven and wobbly.. we got a seated near a window.. I wish these guys would clean the dead flies etc from the window ledge before you are seated to eat food.. this is not the only place that has this.. Everything was acceptable up until this point.. however we had to wait an age for someone to come and clear the table and get the bill.. after what seemed a lifetime I asked for the bill ASAP.. paid and got out of there.. Location is very nice.. 2⭐

Food was served warm rather than hot. Roast potatoes had very hard outer crust - ? left over from lunch and re-heated. Ice cream portions with dessert so small as to look mean - embarrassing in view of USA visitor.

Great pub food. Nice selection of drinks and ales for those that like ales. But the view 😍 if you're ever in Ruislip or near the area its a must visit on a sunny day. The view of the lake is like nothing in london. And the pic doesn't do it justice

The old orchard was quite a scenic and beautiful pub! We went with a few friends for a late lunch and below was the view. Location (5/5): Not far from where we all live in North West London, the location is stunning with options to walk down by the river and lake. There is also free parking throughout the day so can always go for a mini hike after a meal. We were surprised to have visited such a place In London and not far from where we all live! Loads of outdoor sitting with the view of the lake. The food (4/5): The food was decent, most of the starters were quite nice such as the halloumi fries, garlic breads, chips and Mac and cheese. The burrata, hummus were below average! For mains we kept it to a minimum, went for the teriyaki tofu which was great but the thai green curry was a let down. Options were all vegetarian so the experience for a meat eater may be different. There were 3 menus and 1 was for the BBQ that is for the people sitting outside. Price (3/5): Central London prices is all I can say. Thai green curry for example was almost £17. Service (5/5): The waiting staff were very attentive and ensured all dietary requirements were catered for. They were friendly and also engaged us with a smile and jokes which is always nice! I would definitely visit again when the weather is nice and sunny again!

Lovely place. Quite a hidden gem for a nice Sunday afternoon or evening. You can clearly see the place is maintained and taken care of. We had a lovely soup and some delicious cod with mushy peas. Plenty of drinks to choose from, also. We'll come again for sure :)

Such a shame beautiful place but that's was all that was good. Service was poor seemed to be forgotten had to ask for drinks all the staff were young and inexperienced. Food was average at best. My wife's lamb was tasteless both my wife and son left the roast potatoes because they were not nice luckily I did not have any. All in all a very expensive average meal.

Used to come few years ago. A little bit disappointed because the view has changed. I understand that the Old Orchard can't do anything about that, but it is killing a little bit the atmosphere. Food and service were correct.

I had dinner here yesterday, which was a Sunday. I am not a stranger to this pub, but I have not been for many years. When I arrived I was reminded of how stunning the view is from the car park. Firstly I must say the service was excellent! Sam was not only a great host, he also provided additional entertainment with his personality, comedy and wit. The other staff were also very attentive and friendly. One of my original good choices had sold out, so was recommended the lamb roast. I am not the biggest fan of roasts, as they can be hit-and-miss depending where you go, but I have to say this was one of the best roasts I have ever eaten! The meat melted in your mouth, and the accompanying items also delectable. It is rare for me to want to polish-off the veg as well! My only gripe is that I did not have room for dessert, but it gives me an opportunity to return and savour one of those in future.

The views are stunning from the raised outside area. All staff were welcoming. Had a delicious meal here last Friday. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very efficient, ensuring that we had everything needed. The Roasted Sea bass with hollandaise sauce was superb. Smaller desserts with a coffee/tea are available which was perfect after the main meal. The service was prompt even though it was a busy evening. We could take our time and we were not rushed out of the restaurant. Definitely an enjoyable evening!

Excellent visit to the Old Orchard with friends and our dog. Good food, excellent choice of draft beers, friendly service, pleasant dining area and wonderful views outside. After dining we were able to walk down from the car park to the Grand Union Canal and have a lovely walk beside the water.
