Came in with my partner just now and had a beautiful meal . The food was gorgeous very well done. The staff where amazing especially our server the young lad Steven. What a joy he was . Thanks Steven we will be back soon .

Had a lovely roast beef dinner good size portions

Terrible service - had to wait 45 minutes for our food, goodness knows when it would have arrived if we hadn’t asked for it. Once it did come, it was undercooked and tasteless - would not recommend.

We visit for my son's 21st birthday, there were 16 of us. Services was excellent, food was very good and we had the upstairs to ourselves. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Great wine and range of drinks. We had a great evening.

We had a very good experience and I can say this on behalf of all the family. It's a while since I've visited the restaurant and the staff really looked after the sixteen of us for our Grandsons 21st birthday celebration. The food was excellent and the atmosphere warm and comfortable. Lovely old building steeped in history.

Booked on line for a meal prior to a show at Wyllyotts Theatre. We placed our order and were served almost immediately, we were asked a couple of times how we liked our meal, and it was quick to get the bill/pay afterwards. Food was good, prices in line with the market and the atmosphere was buzzy. Would definitely go again if we were heading to the theatre - not for any other reason as we live about 40 minutes away!

Lovely restaurant great Sunday roast! 9 of us visited and the staff were patient, professional and helpful. The food was really good! The best roast I’ve had in a long time, although the potato’s could have been a bit crispier but that is just preference Highly recommend!

Terrible experience. Service was very poor which spoilt our evening as we were only given a two our slot to eat our meal. After being seated we had a twenty minute wait to be offered drinks and an hours wait after ordering for our main course to arrive. Very busy restaurant and not enough staff! Staff service and attitudes could be improved upon! Overall quality of food was very poor!!! Didn’t eat desserts - Apple turnovers had very little filling, were overcooked, over spiced and the pastry tasted rancid. The brownie was overcooked and dry. Very disappointing evening.

Very disappointing meal .Table of 5 booked before going over to theatre .We waited ages for the food ,we thought we had children’s meals the portions were so small .chips and salad are so cheap so why such tiny portions. This was my second visit. I went there at christmas and i was so impressed i took my husband yesturday. The menu has lots of choice and the food is served hot . Good size portion and value for money. I had mushroom and tarragon sausages, and my husband had the old manor beef burger, which was cooked to prefection. The staff were welcoming and gave us time to order our food. It wasn't busy we were the only one in the restaurant when we arrived as there wasnt any prefromance running at theatre opposite. The bar area was busy and you can eat food in the bar area . This building is so beauitful it is worth a visited. We will be defiantly be returning .

I had fantastic experience visiting the old Manor pub in potters bar. The food was top quality and the bar staff were friendly, particularly “Mia” she made sure we had everything we wanted and was friendly and accommodating.

We had a lovely traditional Sunday roast and the pub is cosy and full of old world character. Our waitress Mia was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend this pub to friends. Top notch!

Having recently been for some quiet drinks with the other half, we were happily greeted by the bar staff, in particular Mel (Melissa) who knew what she was doing, Very friendly and polite. We will be back again.

After finding a space in the carpark which was very full we were happy to see such a lovely quaint pub , it was very busy but we found a table on the pub floor on the side. We ordered a Burger and Fries with Truffle oil, it was very tasty but not too much truffle on the chips , a lovely lady called Melissa helped us and got us some more truffle oil which made it even better ! thank you

Visited last week with a friend. Waited so long for a burger and chips and we were the only people eating! - when it eventually arrived, the meat was raw in places and the chips were awful, there was also a hair on the serviette. It felt dirty in there, not sure what has happened to this lovely pub/restaurant (I’ve been going there for years) I will not be returning until it improves.

We were a large group however despite sending through our food choices in advance several items not available at all, The Food was ok really as you'd expect portion sizes on the small side. Waiter was nice but service slow despite the restaurant and bar being relatively quiet.

Slow service ( 1 hour before food arrived) & dried up pudding. Roast only ok. Will try somewhere else for Sunday Lunch next time

Firstly, the bar staff were excellent and could not be faulted. They pour an excellent pint of guinness for you stout fans 🍺. Food was a big let down. Smoked Salmon starter was just like a supermarket packet salmon with olives and half a slice of toast? Steaks were all undercooked. The mushy peas were dry on the fish and chips. The deserts weren’t great either - there was some odd orange topping on the brownies. It’s a real shame because it’s also in a prime location. I’d recommend this place for a drink but not for food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

we used to be regular vistors to the lovely old manor over the last 37 years and seen many owners, but not been for a while. The latest owners (Youngs brewery) removed all the drinks customers liked and at the same time hiked prices to unrealistic levels. proof being tge place is almost empty most of the time after once being a lively and friendly place. So tonight we revisited to meet friends. wish we hadn't! Despite the wife phoning to book they had no record, great.. not! Drink at bar while waiting, eye-watering prices and still rubbish choice. The menu is very uninspiring to put it mildly. The wife is a veggie and the only thing that she fancied was Maccy cheese. they didn't have any!! not great... again. so chose the food, fish and chips @ £17. portion size was very disappointing and could have gotten better quality at much less at the chippy across the road. then to desert, oh wait, they don't have all of them either (not a lot of choice anyway) OK let's have coffee, oh can't have that as the previous waitress has "already cleaned the machine" despite there still being customers in the restaurant???? Asked for bill and brought up our observations, the waitress said they coukd have made an instant coffee... if we had adjed for it?? wtf?? she really couldn't have cared less and once we paid she abruptly turned and walked away. Great customer service... NOT. would we go back? definitely not would we recommend it? definitely not Note... 100yds away is wetherspoons Admiral Byng food is equal quality to what I had tonight at fraction of price, drinks are half the price.

Fabulous setting with the comfort of a log fire. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive. First visit before watching a show at the Whylotts , definitely won’t be my last.

Good food reasonably priced good service

We did go on Sunday evening, so it was a bit quiet. The staff were very welcoming, and we got our food and drinks very quickly. The food was good, well cooked and tasty. The only criticism that I can make was that there wasn't much choice of meat dishes especially for someone that can't eat fish. On the plus side both Vegans and Vegetarians were well catered for.

We had arranged a private dinner party for 24 guests plus a toddler and a baby. The area upstairs was well presented and tables laid up with our requested wines. We had a prosecco reception on arrival. The service was attentive and our pre-ordered menu accurate. I thought the menu choice could have been better - no chicken or lamb or beef, but our guests seemed happy with their food. I can recommend this restaurant for a private party.

Booked a Christmas Feast for Boxing day, for two. The meal turned out to be an expensive pub grub. There was nothing festive about it except 2 Christmas crackers. Tiny slices of beef carpaccio with a small amount of grated cheese!! The main meal a mess of chewy beef slices and old reheated roast potatoes. The worst though was the treacle tart, which tasted like a putty with a spoonful of apparently clotted cream. A complete waste of money. On the plus side the staff serving us was nice although they tried to add £10 to our bill for a discretionary service charge. We won't be going back there again.

We had Xmas dinner today (5 adults and a two year old). I had a traditional menu for Xmas - scallops as a starter, turkey with all the trimmings for mains and Xmas pudding with ice cream for dessert. It was typical good pub food. Nothing very special but perfectly acceptable. Service was very good even though they were obviously busy. This is a nice pub and over the last 10 years I have used it for several reunions and also for a drink after visiting the adjacent theatre.

My partner and I came here to get a roast on Sunday evening. We've just moved to the area and the menu looked great. The soup was lovely but when the roasts came only one had gravy, and I'm talking about a teaspoon on it. My roast also didn't have any greens. I work in hospitality and fully get that things run out, particularly on Sunday evenings, but I will always address the issue head on and, and would offer a substitute or at the least, an apology and some money off. We certainly do not hope we get away with not offering the meal as described by just dropping the food off and not coming back. It was this that really frustrated us, it felt like you were trying to get away with it which in our opinion was a really poor example of hospitality. The roast was lovely, but of course without any gravy, both were dry and not as enjoyable as we hoped they would be. When I brought this up with our server he just sort of apologised and didn't really address it or offer any solution. Just a tip but in this situation you have the opportunity to put things right and 'write the last chapter'. I would have expected at least a small discount or a drink, or something. As I say the food was good, but we left with the feeling that our complaints were not really acknowledged or dealt with at all, and as a result we won't be coming back I'm afraid. I don't usually write reviews, but as a business owner in this field, I thought it would be beneficial for you to know. In these tough times, customer service will make or break a business and you might be able to deal with this sort of thing better in the future Cheers

Lovely evening out at The Old Manor with two friends . Differently will go back to eat. Beautiful building and décor . Food came out hot and of good portions. One had the fish and chips .The menu has a lot of gluten free option which was great as both my friends are gluten free. Embarrassingly poor. My guest wondered why I had chosen the place.

We visited a few days ago, a lovely establishment to visit, it’s very cosy and very relaxing. I do love the fact you can bring your dogs inside. We had coffee upon arrival which were nice. Then decided to have some lunch, I ordered the roast chicken. It was delicious and probably one of the best I’ve had. The pricing wasn’t too bad for what we got. The atmosphere was also great. I took one star off the service ranking merely because I had noticed that the staff weren’t attentive to us as they were to other customers. We were only approached when the food we ordered had arrived and when the empty plates were being taken, which seemed to be by the manager/supervisor. Nothing in between that like the other tables. That’s the only reason for my mark down. However to the staff we did get served by we’re really polite and I’m sure this was a one off and definitely has not put me off from coming here again.

Sadly really poor experience and wont be going back. Have had many meals there prior to seeing a show at Wyllyotts but service was appalling. Arrived 6pm for 7.30 show. Food arrived 7.10 so basically inhaled it and ran across the road to theatre. More fortunate than table next door who arrive 5.45 but had to leave with no food at all. Really badly under staffed and very limited menu.

Excellent food, friendly service and good value. The perfect place to go for a pre show meal when visiting Wyllyotts theatre.

This was a three generation family get together meal. The menu was wide but also we asked for 'changes' (chips not mash etc) and all of our requests were met without hesitation. The food was hot on arrival, beautifully presented and really delicious. We asks for small portions for some of our party and this was also complied with. All in all a lovely Saturday lunch.

Sunday lunch with our parents. Every meal was delicious and the staff are so lovely. Between us we had shitake burger, fish and chips, pork belly and roast beef. Everything was cooked well and there was plenty of it. Afterwards in the bar I had the most wonderful parisian coffee. Strong coffee, plenty off brandy and cream and it floated throughout the drinking experience. Thank you Old Manor for a great visit.

It was awful, firstly a friend of mine ordered a wine and it was served in a water glass, when asked for a wine glass the waitress said that wine is now served in water glasses, ridiculous, secondly the calamari starter that was served to me was an insult, £8 for 4 small pieces of calamari, I sent that back and lastly my friend ordered the chicken and ham pie and swallowed a sharp piece of chicken bone. Not a good experience. Will not eat there again

Beautiful pub restaurant, with really friendly staff. Food was fantastic and arrived in good time. We were eating before going to the theatre and our waitress was so lovely and helpful and made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy our food.

Just opposite the Wyllotts theatre,it actually has a pre theatre menu, we eat there late October evening & Biggest problem we had was how cold it was !! we sat by chimney ok to start with but we suddenly got a blast of cold air!! We were informed the air conditioning had been switched on and it would soon warm up !! but after repeated requests it never did !! Ruined an overwise nice evening, the bangers (3) & mash was ok , JUST DON'T eat on table near chimney

First time i visited the old manor and loved the roast dinner! Excellent place and friendly staff - not pushed to buy drinks we didn’t want. Delicious food will 100% go again
