The Old House Inn in Tandridge

I don’t generally give food reviews and I’ve been fortunate enough to eat in some of the country’s finest Michelin restaurants but this place. Wow. Every single time I’ve been it’s been epic. Beautiful historic building, extremely attentive staff and food that would put some 2A London restaurants to shame. Constantly changing menu but yesterday I had the venison faggots that we’re in and my god I want to eat that gravy for the rest of my life. Utterly incredible.

Stayed overnight prior to a flight from Gatwick. Staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Evening meal was to a high standard and again great service. They even arranged an early breakfast for us.

Fabulous stay. Excellent room, very large and well equipped, fantastic food, drinks and service. Could not recommend more highly

I mean, where do I start ?! What a beautiful and cosy pub. The staff are great and I was greeted by the one and only Luke who is at the bar. Luke swiftly poured me a pint and I spoke to a friendly staff member who turns out to be the manager Lewes. Great food and such a picturesque spot. A must to visit… what are you waiting for!

A birthday weekend away couldn't have been better. A beautiful old Inn, watch your head!! Great staff, friendly and professional and made our stay warm and welcoming. Food was delicious, we ate both evenings, you must try the biscoff mini donuts, and breakfast each morning which was also delicious and filling. Family meal to celebrate a birthday. The food was superb, with a mixture of Sunday roasts and fish. The beef was excellent, and puddings were wonderful.

The old house has become our new favourite local!!! The moment you walk in the door the staff are so welcoming and it’s such a nice atmosphere. The drinks selection is good and if you like an espresso martini order one and you won’t be disappointed!!! Went for a valentines meal last night and it was a great night from start to finish! Rhianna, Jess, Lewis, Tony and Luke really took care of us making it a wonderful experience. The food was the best I have had in the area I take my hat off to the chef, the friends I go with have different dietary needs and nothing was to much they all got amazing meals!!! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Sadly, I was here only for 1 night, but the room was very comfortable with lots of little extras to make the stay a little special. The Staff were very helpful and the service in the Restaurant was excellent and the food choices were varied , as I had to leave early a continental breakfast was delivered to my room in the evening before. Certainly I would be happy to go back.

Not a great meal sadly and service pretty poor too. Asked for a main as a starter and was charged full main meal price, may have been a main that was brought out but either way not what I asked for. The plant-based burgers had a pretty awful texture to them, may have been overcooked but also just a metal cup of chips, no side salad garnish - which in this day and age is a pretty basic formula. The battered fish two of our party had looked overcooked or cooked in dirty oil - very dark and dry. The gingerbread crème brûlée was very bland and once through to the crème filling was left very underwhelmed. Service was mixed, two blonde girls - one very welcoming and pleasant, the other gave the impression of our visit being a bit of a bother to her Friday night - another chap who served us was good. After serving our food the waitress just walked away without asking if we wanted any condiments, and by the time we managed to get some attention and the sauce on the table we had already finished half our meals. One hour after getting home had bad diarrhoea and a sore stomach in bed for the night - won’t be going again.

Food was awful really poorly presented, soup was dreadful and the chicken burger was probably the worst main course I have ever had

Dined here this Saturday just gone. Lovely food - even better service. Beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere. Stayed in one of the out houses. Tastefully decorated, very clean, lovely bath tub- if I had to be picky, the green light on all night above our bed made our night a bit restless - i assume it's a fire exit thing which seems unnecessary considering how small and cosy the room is. Also the fan in the bathroom is incredibly noisy... but this is me being picky. Breakfast was fantastic - again service was top notch. What a fantastic team of staff the management have put together. A friendly and homely environment - lots of laughter and good vibes coming from the kitchen staff/waiters, who even let us sit away from the loud family at breakfast as i was feeling a little delicate (hungover) A great selection of books in restaurant and just so beautiful! What a building! Had to leave the staff a tip before leaving. Well done.... we will definitely be back!!! 🥰

While I didn't have the chance to enjoy the inn's fireplace, the Old House Inn's restaurant is a culinary gem that I would highly recommend to any food enthusiast. It's a perfect place to savor exquisite dishes on a pleasant day. I look forward to returning for another culinary adventure!

What a cracker of a find! And we’ll worth loosing a few hours to, this place has so much character lovely and cosy and even a super little snug with a fire for a cheeky date night or a get together with friends you can even share a sharing board or a bottle of vino, if your not up for the extensive lunch or dinner menu. Talking of the menu’s, Jeeeez the food and the combination of flavour that have been created in the kitchen are dam good and definitely tickled my taste buds, making me want to come back for more! And I have!!! To the manager. The Team are worth their weight in gold, friendly polite and have time for you, and nothing is to much trouble, they are passionate about the food and the overall experience they are delivering, a credit to you!

Myself and my family went along to the Country Festival on 8th September. The event was absolutely brilliant. The bands the decor, the staff were all excellent. We enjoyed all the classic and modern Country music and it was lovely to see a broad age range including children. That being said my only negative point I have to make is the pricing of their food and drink. The cheapest bottle of white wine available (pinto gregio) was £30 and the food which was American themed was over priced. £9.50 for a hot dog which was a frankfurter style sausage, so cheap. My niece said it was not even nice and left half of it. The beef burger was £10.50 and all it came with was melted cheese no lettice, tomatoes etc and I had the bbq pulled pork brisket bun which was absolutely delishious yet it was a bun and pork nothing else. They also advertised stone baked pizzas and icecream on their ad but they didn't have them which would of been ideal for the kids. These local events are brilliant and we enjoy and want to support local business but they do need to review their pricing as we don't feel it was good value for money.

Restaurant setting is very nice with helpful staff. However, the food was very average, 2 of our party had roast potatoes which were undercooked inside, these were sent back twice and in the end we had chips. Overall, just not great value for money.
