The Old Courthouse in Armagh

We do not know this area very well, & had my elderly Uncle out for lunch. Hubbie had to look at the reviews all good & I have to agree freshly cooked food, very pleasant staff. Plus we got parked right across the road from this place that was a big plus for us. Definitely we will use again.

Great communication pre-event. Excellent service on both occasions. Simple menu but lots of good food well cooked and presented. Great friendly service. Very good value for money.

This is a lovely homely setting for a family or solo Sunday lunch. Super sized portions served by friendly staff. Choices of meat, turkey and ham and salmon. Good selection of vegetable, potatoes and cocktail sausages. Served hot and very very tasty. Starters and sweets available as well. Had a look at the Christmas menu which sounded lovely and very reasonably priced. Sounds like an ideal setting for a Christmas lunch time or evening meal.

What a lovely setting - the smell of wood and of fresh food! A historic little courthouse with old Irish charm - like stepping back in time. Despite being near closing time - the waitress was warm and inviting in hospitality. Scones were served with fresh cream and my kids’ food served patiently and with a smile. I want to try the famous Sunday lunch next time...

Ate here during a training day held in the room upstairs. Tea and shortbread biscuits were lovely - staff had to be encouraged to use tongs to lift biscuits, I always feel awkward asking servers to use tongs instead of their hands! For lunch i ordered a chicken Caesar salad which i had to return as there was no chicken on it! It had been forgotten in the kitchen - it was lovely when finally in front of me though. A bit more organising required when a crowd of people are in would be good, apart from that the food was nice.

Tasty food, great service and good value. Stopped by at 2:00 pm our group had a mixture of lunch and breakfast and everyone was impressed.

After a walk around Gosford Forest Park 16 of us packed into the back room of the Old Courthouse for our meal. I would concur with other recent comments. The food is what one would appreciate after some exercise - home-cooked, plentiful and very appetising at very reasonable cost. Contrary to some previous comments the service was second to none. The two girls made us feel welcome and were most attentive. The fire in the main room is very welcoming and the decor and general atmosphere puts you at your ease immediately on entering. A good choice!

If you want good quality food at an excellent price this is the place to go. Don't expect anything fancy, just pull up a chair beside the fire and enjoy.

What a lovely building, enough to pull me off the main road coming from Armagh. When we pulled in we could see it serves as a playschool a Internet Cafe and restaurant all serving it's community on tidy grounds. The welcome was pleasant the food, I had a sweet and sour pork was tasty and reasonably priced. A good place to take a pit stop with a bit of style.
