It's alright not much better than 'spoons much more affordable than coppers it's alright the food is palatable the atmosphere is a bit phlegmatic as is the dining area cold and parky we both had hunters chicken and a very cold pint of cola even though no ice was requested the cola was surrounded by ice cubes Average bordering on poor I'm feeling generous so I punted for average

this was our first visit to the zold brewery and we we're very impressed.Good menu great food. We had the haggis fritter starters - amazing.We then shared the chicken mega. Beautiful.The staff here are brilliant. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly welcoming helpful staffAll round great experience

An amazingly friendly pub with really helpful staff. We were staying in area and staff offered places to visit whilst we were here. Went back 2 nights in a row. Food fabulous. Wonderful steak. Kids menu good too. Limited menu at the minute due to COVID-19, but still a good range.

Went with a dozen pals for our tea. Hadn’t been for ages but service was good and food excellent. It is pub grub but tasty and well presented. Good range of drinks too. As always staff were very helpful.

Was in for lunch today 21/1/2020 with my friend and her wee boy food was lovely staff are very friendly manager was lovely service was quick,would definitely recommend and come back.

Have drank in here regularly over the past few years and in the main it's pretty good. However on occasion the service levels can be extremely lacking ie 2 persons on with 1 food and 1 bar when there is the 2 Glasgow teams playing in Europe (first time I have ever seen a queue standing in line at the bar in th OB). Food seems to be a priority and bar service not so much. The staff are cheerful enough and can be attentive however not always.Food is generally good and deals even better with their 2 fors.Drink a bit in the expensive side for Alloa with no Tennents either.All in all if your in for food it's a good place to go, for a night out a good place to visit but for a few beers watching sport....well maybe not so although they do have the best screens in Alloa.

The food quality has nosed diced in the Ol Brewery. My son asked for a Piri Piri burger and on checking the chicken, he discovered it was not cooked properly and had it removed. He took a Cheese Mac instead but did not receive the difference paid back. I am Vegetarian and once again the standard is low and the cost high. Wetherspoons will now have my money. More food, better standard of cooking, and half the price.

The bar is easy to find and has parking outside. It’s got a nice atmosphere and decor, lots of tables and booths. Good food at a reasonable price with daily deals or offers. Staff were friendly too.

Nice place, looks attractive, well decorated. Food was good, huge portions, great prices. Also good for bigger group, there is lots of space with a more cosy upstairs.

Been in Alloa since Thursday an been into the Old Brewery twice. Had a lovely pulled pork on brown bread and onion rings an pot of coleslaw and it was fantastic. Friendly staff and Pub very clean an warmly deco decor. Till next time were up in Scotland.

We escaped from the rain and popped in for a quick drink and ended up having lunch, my hubby had the burger, with side of hallumi fries and I had the Bombay Bird, I forgot to take a pic and just tucked in!!

Went to old brewery last night with my wife to be and bro in law for a quiet drink ,as I turned corner to entrance door I was approached by what resembled a door person whom said iv watched you stagger along the road so im not letting u in ,now this guys good because he can see round corners,anyway bearing in mind im 6ft5" ,I asked why he had a problem as I only had 4 pints ,,I asked the 2 younger lads with what seemed to be a doorman if they thought I was staggering or seemed to be drunk and they said sorry, regardless of what they say the supposed doorman wont change his mind which told me this wasn't the first that the guy who looked like someone on the door(only due to badge on his arm) the look on there faces told me this wasn't the first that he had issues with bigger people than him ,,I was a regular at Old brewery but after last night red neck I will be recommending no one over 5ft goes there as they may be refused entry and will be spreading the word that its not the place that's wrong its the wrongun on the door ,the older guy wi the glasses on the door that everyone outside was laughing at for this sin...

Had The Gourmet Burger... was very tasty! Would recommend Upstairs was hired for friends hen party, was ideal Staff were lovely and helpful

This building is an impressive pub/restaurant in a former brewery. The whole outside view says 'Traditional ales, come in'. We did and enjoyed the interior decor, cleanliness and good service. The variety of ales and wines was extensive. Highly recommended.

I was there with a friend for lunch. I had the soup and although it said it came with a roll, it had been subsituted by bread, but I didn't mind. The only issue I had was with the sparkling mineral water. The pub had obviously been delivered non-sparkly water even though it was branded as such. Not the pub's fault. The lady at the bar exchanged it no problem. I can highly reccomend The Old Brewery, certainnly from own experience there.

Visited with a friend. The food was very good, we both had the fish and chips. If you visit Sunday to Thursday they have "specials" which include 2 for £10.99. The portion size is very good and the menu is varied. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The football was on while we were in so the bar was fairly busy but we were still served quickly. On receiving our meal we were approached by a member of staff to check that everything was okay. I think that this is a nice touch in a busy pub. If you are looking for tasty pub food then The Old Brewery is a good choice.

Went for tea last night, 2 for £10.99 on mains was idea. Food was good too, as was the pudding. Fairly busy also which gave a nice atmosphere along with a few drinks.

Terrible service. The food was very rubbish and the staff were rude. Really do not recommend. Not worth the price in the slightest.

Came for a few drinks being new to the area. Staff were brilliant. Raelene and Nichola were lovely made me feel right at home. The girl who spotted my wallet left on the bar katlin saved my night. Most impressed will definitely be back...2mo lol. My week in alloa will be good in here.

Staff friendly good service,had the steak pie very disappointed dry and tough had the steak pie before it was OK ,but last night poor.

Drinks are more expensive than other places in alloa, foods not too bad and you will probably struggle for a seat at the weekend. Talking becomes shouting at the weekend as well as the music is up so loud.

Been there for lunch on Friday. I have been served a mixed grill covered in black, burned food from a dirty grill. And when I say covered, I mean the dirt was all over the fried meat, the chicken, beef and sausages. I hope it was burned meat from what was previously been fried on the grill in the last 2, 3 days and not dirt from God knows what...

typical pub restaurant. does cater for families..the night we went in was not too busy..wide variety on menu plus some specials..which we took..we got the hunters chicken..nice..would have liked to have gone back again but ran out of time.. next time

Visited with a mate for a bite to eat. Very nice bar, football was on and service was brilliant. We both enjoyed our meal, Mix Grill and steak. Recommended

Been in here a couple of times recently and it's a really nice pub. Not particularly cheap for the area but visually nice. Lots of TV's for sports and the food is also decent.

Food is good and fairly priced but the cost of drink here is so expensive and is unjustifiable as u can go into Glasgow and the drink is cheaper I haven’t been back in here due to this

Organised leaving party from work. Over 20 people attended - food good quality, great value and arrived quickly. Service from Shaun quick and efficient. Excellent choice of venue.

Came here by chance, as the place we were intending to eat at was closed. This is a large pub, and on entering it has the feel of a commercial enterprise that might serve somewhat 'plastic' food. Not so, service for drinks at the bar was good, and once you have your table number you can order your food. They had a deal on, and we wanted two lots of haddock and chips - unfortunately they had run out. Instead we had the steak and ale pie and the rump steak. The place was busy, so we had to wait - no bad thing really, since when the food came it had been freshly cooked. The food was tasty, and the steak nice and thick and cooked to how requested. While we were there, two darts teams were warming up for a match - so it had a friendly pub feel to it. Service was efficient and friendly. Prices were reasonable - so we could well go back.

Had a family meal here the other night and we all had a great meal. The service and food was very good. The pub has a lively atmosphere and friendly staff. Sport on the tvs as well which was a bonus.

Down in Alloa golfing tried the Old Brewery for evening meal. Fairly average had gammon eggs and chips . Pal had fish and chips served fairly quickly, reasonable price Gammon very salty! Not bad meal .

This is a fairly new pub which is clean, comfortable and provides good quality food at reasonable prices. The service was is cheery, friendly and efficient and the beer is of a good quality. Its well worth a visit.

Bar staff ignored people standing at the bar to stand and chit chat , when asking the manager about getting served reply was I am busy , all the while staff standing talking among themselves . We eventually left and went elsewhere

Visited after the recent spruce up and glad to see benches rather than high tables and stools/ chairs. Enjoyed the food and the Belhaven Best tasted much better than before the re- furb - new beer pipes ? But what gets my back up is the use of the disabled toilet downstairs by people ( mostly men ) that are too lazy to climb the stairs to the proper toilets. My wife didn’t have to use the disabled toilet on this occasion, but before the re- furb she would try not to use it as at night it ended up a stinking tip of a place with paper and urine covering the seat and floor. We’ve seen people move from this area as the smell coming out of the toilet was so bad. There should be a swipe card lock on the toilet door but I know this isn’t practical when the place and staff are busy. Able bodied people using disabled toilets are a problem in a lot of places and it’s not easy to find a suitable compromise. Staff approaching offenders after they leave the toilet can result in aggressive responses and I wouldn’t like to see the staff have to deal with this. Apart from the disabled toilet being used by able bodied and lazy punters, I would thoroughly recommend The Old Brewery to people looking for a nice meal and a drink in pleasant surroundings.

Food is lovely, staff very friendly and will to go that extra mill when requested. Would definitely recommend his pub/restaurant. And I will be back soon...

Food is good been here a lot since I moved to the area. Staff are always friendly. They just redecorated and can’t wait to see the changes

Popped in for lunch, new decor looks good but new menu is even better, all four of us had different meals and all were very nice, good portion size, nice and hot, looked, smelled and tasted fresh and yummy, the service was great particularly the waiter Ally, he was very helpful and friendly as was the barmaid, totally worth a visit.

We arrived on Monday at at 5pm for an early Christmas dinner. We had mushrooms to start which were really tasty. The roast turkey with all the trimmings were perfectly cooked with the vegetables done just right. We pulled our crackers and drank our wine and had a really lovely evening. My husband went with the traditional Christmas pudding while I had a very decadent and indulgent chocolate fudge cake. The manager and her team worked really hard to make it a memorable evening for all the Christmas diners. Ali, our server, was friendly and looked after us. I would thoroughly recommend going there - and not just for Christmas,

We had our 4th annual Christmas lunch here, all 33 of us. It looked like we had taken the place over but they coped admirably, taking the food order in groups of 5-6. Good food, great service, and a reasonable price.

This place is unexpected in alloa very nice staff good pub grub and good ambiance the bouncers at the door are the worst thing about it treated me like a criminal and very intimidating but wasn't letting those meatheads ruin my night. Great facilities love this place !!

Had a very good meal here with friends last sat evening. Was very busy with revellers due to rugby match but staff were excellent with us as told them four but could increase to six. Which it did. Got us a table for four with ends spare if friends arrived. Bar service was excellent also ! All staff were excellent as was our food & pints of peroni ! The large fish was three fish & was an enormous plate full & very well priced for amount ! All meals we had were very good indeed. Without a doubt will certainly return with friends again ! This was our 4th visit & never been disappointed!

Good food and drink worth a lively atmosphere. Very good for sports events on the multi TV screens. Encourage families until about 9PM.

Average pub food fare. Its a really big sports pub that serves average pub food. Plenty TV's for the constant sports coverage - therefore noisy. It can feel like you are having a meal in the middle of someone's party and expect to be hushed/glared at during the local footy games!.......but if that's okay with you then all good. Its busy and can be surprisingly stuffy with food smells despite its size.

The Old Brewery has a good atmosphere, it is quite large and can be a bit noisy when really busy. There is a good range of drinks on sale. There is decent menu for pub food. We always enjoy visiting the OB for drinks and sometimes for an evening meal. The staff are friendly ,but sometimes not as attentive as they could be and you can wait a while at the bar to be served.

We needed somewhere to eat after a long journey to Scotland and found this place. We also went back again later in the week. Service was brilliant, we were really impressed. The food was standard pub food and enjoyable and really reasonable. We would have returned for a 3rd time not the footy was in and it was rammed!!

I was in Alloa for a friends exhibition and decided to grab some food and as tempting as it was to jump on the train and get off at Stirling I decided to give this place a go. When I walked in it didn't seem like anything special, just your normal pub-grub place but what made my visit worth while was the service. I was served by Stacey who had great chat and a great smile. She also made some great suggestions in regards what I should eat from the menu. It's service like this that make you want to come back!

After a day out we decided to go to the old brewery as a spur of the moment. After being here numerous times before and in the beginning food was lovely , latterly it had become dull and food was nothing to write home about . However this time, the food was lovely , my fiancé had the steak pie as he always does and it was stacked with meat , I tried some and it was lovely, I had fish and chips, and it was Delish. Would recommend. Also the waiter , friendly was very attentive without being in your face, he had a nice manner.

My family and I have visited The Old Brewery a number of times now and we have found the staff to be very pleasant and professional. We have only visited at lunch time on a weekend, however we h found the lunch meals to be exceptional value, well proportioned and cooked excellently. We recommend this pub and restaurant to anyone looking for a lovely cost effective meal.

Traveled here to play darts against there local team. Had a great day/evening ( we lost ). Staff are very friendly. Thank you for the lovely sandwiches at half time.

Popped in on a Monday afternoon and the first thing that struck me was how clean and organised everything was. 3 bar staff on and no waiting time for anything (exactly what you want). The Manager Amanda clearly knows how to do it right!! Total opposite to my experience in Bobbing Johns, Alloa, don't waste your time visiting there ... they need more staff AND a cleaner!!! Shout out to Alistair in the old brewery, a breath of fresh air, as are all the staff actually!! Deffo be back xx

We met for a large family gathering, several cars parked easily nearby, nice friendly service and a large table had been set and reserved.The menu is large and varied, several deals available and options. Everyone got something to enjoy, and generally everything was fine. Friendly staff gave excellent service. Not too impressed by my first pint, Brew Dog "Punk IPA" won't have that again, Belhaven "Best" was much better. would have preferred a detailed bill when I was paying (over £100)

We have just moved to the area and wanted to try this pub out as it gets a lot of good reviews on TA. I also had a voucher for 20% off. We went on a Thursday night and it was relatively empty. The building inside is lovely. The menu is basic, with things like burgers, lasagne, steaks, soup, baked potatoes and some chicken dishes. However there was also a specials board and 2/3 courses came from this and I loved them. The food was lovely, plenty of it, and it's very cheap. I would say it's like a weatherspoons only a lot nicer. Drinks are cheap too, and my cocktail was only £5.29! Would definitely go back, but not sure if we would go at the weekend. We had initially planned to go on a Saturday night, but after football had been one earlier, the place was packed, mostly with drunken men it seemed and it was very noisy.

Really pleasant, helpful staff where nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended for pub grub in a friendly setting.

My family and I have been to The Old Brewery many times over the last few years. The quality of the food is always of a high standard, and a good choice too. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and professional. On the rare occasions that there is an issue with the food it is always dealt with quickly and politely. We always look forward to our visits, and we are always recommending The Old Brewery to our friends. There are some good meal deals on offer, such as 2 main meals for £10. And our favourite deal, 2 rump steak meals with all the trimmings and a bottle of wine for £22 all in! We would like to thank all of the staff for the hard work they put in.

I went for dinner with a large group of relatives and was not disappointed and the whole group felt the same way.The food is standard pub grub but is good quality and the staff were excellent.If you like a quiet environment to eat in this is not for you as it's a large, busy place with music and sport on TV in the background. If you don't mind that then you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I went to old Brewery today around 3 pm we went for the two meals for £10.99 the classic burger with fries and salad. We were not disappointed burgers were tasty and fries were delicious. Nice time to go not too busy staff were very attentive and chatty and that's why we will go back

Lovely lunch here the Chicken Barbecue wrap was delicious with a big side of salad, the service was very promt and staff friendly and helpful.

Visited with friends after being away a few years - the reaction when I asked for my pint to be filled to the pint mark said it all. This place is disappointing.
