One of our favourite restaurants, we go once a month on average. There is a reason it’s busy, and why takeaways are popular. I highly recommend The Old Bank, and we will continue being loyal customers I am sure. Great food and service, and our guests always comment how great it is too.

First time we've been this year and it was as excellent as ever. The place has a nice atmosphere, first class staff and each meal is cooked completely fresh and hence the great taste. All of the dishes seem totally authentic to us and though we've had several of them before, they are still a pleasure and so enjoyable. Can't really believe we've got this first class restaurant on our door step. Not forgetting there's a mid week discount on the second main.

This spot is amazing for day time or evening! Such friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere! Amazing food and drink aswell!

I had a thoroughly good meal from the Christmas menu, especially the meatball starter, which was gorgeous!

Food was amazing!!!!! (Once received) we waited ages for our starters to then find out that they hadn't been put through. Once it was realised I would say that they came out very quickly and then so did the mains.

A first visit for us, the decor is clean, modern and welcoming. It isn't that large so there is an intimate atmosphere, we sat downstairs but there is an upper floor. We shared a selection of mezes between us, all of which were very good, followed by grill dishes. My one comment would be that there was rather a lot of bulgar wheat served with the grill, three of us left a half of the serving. I would have preferred less wheat and a small salad on the side. The wine was reasonably priced and the service friendly and prompt. Overall a lovely meal at a reasonable price.

Service fair. Quality of food not the best

First time diner and pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. The meal was nice and varied and the deal of ordering three starters to share allows you to try something a little different. To be recommended.

What can I say this is the third time we've eaten here. The staff are very friendly helpful and polite. The menu isn't vast but still an excellent selection. The quality of the food is excellent. We love this place and highly recommend it

Can’t season food and over priced

First time at the bank very impressed, good service, great food, and very comfortable, you must go and try.

The old Bank has been recommended to me so many times, we visited for our wedding anniversary & were not disappointed! There was a little wait for the food, but it was busy & all freshly cooked, so didn't mind! Fantastic food & very tasty!

Sadly we haven't been for a while but took some visiting friend last night. We were not disappointed and our friends amazed that a restaurant of this quality was so close in a small town. A wide range of food on the restaurant, excellent gluten free menu and the staff able to talk you through any item on the menu. The food was excellent, as were the staff. They serve at a pleasant speed and don't interrupt, but seem to be ever on the watch as they come soon as you catch their eye. We will be back more often and regret getting out of the habit of regularly visiting

Oh my God you guys have GOT to try this place. It's been a long time since we've had a mean for a group that can only be described as an experience. Excellent service, amazing location, lovely atmosphere and above all, amazing food. They also have a large vegan menu. I guarantee you will not leave disappointed.

Lovely atmosphere & decor, the food was delicious had all 3 courses & all were divine. Lovely staff & to the chefs absolutely nothing I could fault. Had been a while ago and glad to report food is still as good as ever. Went on a Tuesday and benefited from a buy one main get second half price offer. Food was hot and delicious. Really enjoyed shared platter particularly the aubergine and whitebait dishes. Service was very good and I look forward to returning again soon. Oh, also brilliant espresso and ice cream dessert...yum. !

After moving to Rothwell , we have been here twice now , and the service was great ,the food was amazing and good value for money . we will be back for sure

The building is beautiful but that's about it. The bucket chairs are not suitable for any bum over a size 14 so not size inclusive. The service was mediocre at best. The food was promising but did not deliver on taste or portion size, an absolute pile of tasteless rice/ bulgar wheat and very dry main. The "mixed veg" was a mushroom, an onion and a green pepper... And the falafel was like no other falafel I have ever had and not in a good way.As a foodie this meal upset me. we did make our feelings clear at the time but they were not really taken in. Will not be returning.

We are so lucky to have this quality restaurant only a short drive away from us. The food is excellent quality and it feels good to support a local family business. I highly recommend the mixed chicken and lamb yogurt kebab, with an extra dish of garlic yogurt!! We will definitely be returning 🥰

Ordinarily my favourite takeaway. Called tonight to say takeaway not up to usual standards. Felt that manager overly quick to defensively jump in, not properly listening to concerns. Fact is this, I know good is freshly cooked to my order. I wasn’t late to collect, found my food to be dried out (all 3 dishes), I was wrongly overcharged (rectified before I left ). Also order not complete. Perhaps unfair to jump to a review like this. I only called to say I felt the meal wasn’t usual standard.This review is purely to say to management please don’t be so quick to the defensive. The meal was rubbish, not up to usual standard. I could’ve accepted this had you listened. Your energy was spent arguing ‘come and get a replacement (not possible) I’ll give you a free meze next time (grudged). Thank you for the good meals I have had in the past from you. Tonight the food was a waste of money but more so the managers attitude, even more rubbish.

Up here on a course . Popped in for a pint. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a pulled beef burger. Lovely. Was staying up for 2 nights and made a beeline for it when we finished the course. Shuffleboard, pool and a massive beer garden . Sadly it was snowing and freezing the time we came up but I’m the summer I’m sure that garden is rocking . Definitely come back here when I’m in the area again😀👍 Thankyou to Steven and the rest of the Old Bank staff

Staff were a little abrupt but food and atmosphere were good.

Absolutely amazing food and reasonably priced, we all ordered the old bank special and the meat was cooked absolutely perfectly. The roasted veg and rice is the perfect combo and the fresh bread is amazing too. The service was good, but it is a shame they don’t do many cocktails. However, the ones we ordered were lovely! Can’t wait to go back and have booked for my birthday meal in two weeks time!

We have been to The Old Bank numerous times over the last 5 years or so and usually come a few times per year for special occasions. It has always exceeded expectations in terms of taste and quality and you are always met with a warm friendly service.

A lovely meal in great surroundings. Love a meze! So great to be able to get so many different tastes.

I really enjoyed our visit to the Old Bank yesterday. The decor was modern, I love the bank vault you see upon entry, and there was a very busy and lively atmosphere. The food was faultless - we shared mezzes to start, baked houmous, garlic mushrooms and falafel. The baked houmous was so creamy and tangy and the mushrooms were delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of that alone. I had a salad bowl and my partner had the aubergine bake for mains and we both very much enjoyed them, my salad was fresh and filled with sliced onion, tomato, olives and chickpeas, it was delicious. The staff were really attentive and saw to us quickly, they also were knowledgeable on allergens as we asked about dairy free options and were informed quickly about what we could eat. On a Friday night you might struggle a bit to find parking, we did, but did manage to park a little further away eventually. We will certainly be going back, and would recommend to those who love Mediterranean cuisine.

Smart restaurant with nice decor and unmasked staff which was great to see. Hummus, Garlic Mushrooms and Halloumi were great starters. Spicy Lamb Kofta was very good too. Service was generally good.

Fantastic Mediterranean takeaway! We should have taken photos but we inhaled the kebabs! That Tzatziki 👌👌 The staff are so lovely and kind, we will definitely eat in next time.

The starter of lamb kofta was tasty but was overcooked. I was quite disappointed with the main fish dish presentation may have been intended to look rustic but not appealing & again, overcooked & dry.

This is my favourite restaurant ever!!! All my family meals are planned here (pre Covid and hopefully post Covid) The staff are so lovely & attentive! Nothing is too much trouble. The food is soooo yummy!!! Highly recommend and always talk to anyone who will listen about this place. Takeaways are yummy too and also seem to be hot when I get it home still.
