The Ocean Cafe, Bar and Restaurant in Pembrokeshire

The wife and I left the kids at home (they can fend for themselves now they’re 1 and 3!) and came on down to Ocean Beach (not Ibiza) for a romantic bite to eat. I had the lobster which was just perfect! Served by a dashing waiter (had to keep an eye on the Mrs). The old ball and chain had the unfolded calzone Stromboli, which she raved about. Overall, great experience and will be coming back for more!

This review relates to three visits: (1) tea and cake; (2) lunch; (3) evening meal. A friendly welcome matters to me and it could not have been friendlier. Traditional cawl (soup/stew) made an excellent lunch (it comes with bread and cheese) and the evening fish platter was a special treat. We and our dogs were happy in the front cafe area but there is also a bar and restaurant. Well done Rachel, Holly, Martha and Halwyn!

Delicious Sunday Roast today at Ocean Cafe at Broad Haven Both myself and hubby had the roast beef dinner which was so tasty with that came cauliflower cheese,carrots,peas,swede,parsnips,roast potatoes,mash potato,stuffing ball,pigs in blankets,yorkshire pudding and gravy amazing value for money

We’ve visited here several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed! We were greeted by the lovely Kim and Rachel who provided fantastic service to us, went above and beyond and made myself and 2 young people with disabilities feel very welcome and comfortable, so thank you very much! They’re absolute gems! We ordered a ham salad sandwich, which came with salad, tortillas and coleslaw, childs nuggets & chips and cod bites. Very tasty food and portions are very generous! Lots of variety on the menu too. We will definitely be back soon!

We came in for a cup of tea and ice-cream for the children. Firstly I was not met with a hello or a smile, but a blank grumpy face. I asked for a baby ice cream for my 2 year old son. Which she did without a word to us. And a normal size ice crack for my 5 year old. When coming to pay I was charged for 2 normal sized ones. I questioned this as his Dad had brought a baby ice cream for our 2 year old son the day before for a pound. And also whilst here in the summer holidays we were able to buy them. She said we don’t do them, I asked why she didn’t say this when we ordered it. She was very argumentative and adamant they didn’t do it. She then shoved the card reader in front of me with a reduced price. I proceeded to say thank you to her, again was given no response but a blank angry face. Fair to say we will not be coming here for New Year’s Eve as planned or anytime. Which is a shame as we own a flat above their cafe.

We visited Ocean Cafe and Bar on a Wednesday evening and were greeted by a lovely lady who couldn't have been more helpful. The menu was varied. I looked at their website but was only shown the breakfast menu, I mentioned to the waitress and she wasn't aware but would try to make sure it was corrected. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and drink. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Going back for breakfast later in the week.

Fantastic meal at The Ocean this evening. Ordered the Mediterranean chicken off the specials menu and it was honestly one of the best meals I've ever had dining out (and I eat out a lot 🤣) Absolutely gorgeous meal - that should be put on to your main menu 👏👏👏

The location is convenient, the food is average, the service is unpleasant. The waitress did. Or bother to show us a table, offer us a menu and was generally unfriendly. The food was ok, although the crab sandwich was disappointing.

We regularly visit here and can always rely on a nice hot meal that we always enjoy. The staff have also come to recognise us now too and it’s lovely to have a catch up with them! My only comment and this is no fault of the restaurant is the amount of unfriendly dogs we come across. We have a dog that is very well behaved, however every time we visit we have had another dog aggressively go towards ours. Our visit this time we have had 3 different dogs lunge towards ours, who really shouldn’t be inside if they behave like this. Although this is the owners responsibility, somehow a reminder to owners wouldn’t go amiss before one dog ruins it for the rest. Thank you all, see you soon!

Welcomed warmly as usual by Mostyn and the team. Fantastic meal in the restaurant with old friends. Amazing service from Rachel and the boys. Incredible view from the Captains table. Food was so tasty and the ice cream presented in the teacups was great. We will be back soon.

This is a very friendly, welcoming establishment and the food was well presented, generous portions and delicious. Highly recommend.

Ate at the Ocean last night and once again, my expectations were exceeded. They were busy, with 2 large groups but the service was still excellent and the food, big portions of straightforward fare, was still tasty and well presented as always.

We phoned at 630pm to book a table 730pm, and was asked to tell them what we wanted to order over the phone, which seemed a little odd. Arrived on time, ordered drinks and awaited our food. At 815pm we went up to ask how much longer and was told they forgot to do our food, but they would start cooking it soon. At 840pm I complained again and a little later got our food. No one seemed bothered we were waiting so long. Absolutely terrible service, and to top it off, when the food arrived it was mediocre at best. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. The night before we had eaten out at the St Brides Inn in little Haven and got amazing service and food for a similar price. Such contrasting experiences.

Thank you again, we're local and come at all times of the year. Great for our disabled daughter in her ĺarge wheelchair. Complete order arrived inside 10 mins on a busy Saturday lunchtime, big portions as well. All staff are friendly and helpful.

We are on holiday in Broad Haven in an apartment over the Ocean bar and restaurant which is so very convenient. We have eaten here several times this week and found each meal delicious. The staff are extremely efficient and pleasant, especially Rachel. It was my husband’s birthday yesterday and we went there again for a meal, I happened to mention this to Rachel as we were being seated and at the end of our meal she and Mostyn, the owner, came to our table singing happy birthday and carrying a muffin with a candle on, what a great thing to do. Will definitely eat there again before going home at the weekend and we highly recommend this place.

Recently visited as part of a motorcycle tour with some friends finding some of the best roads in the South Wales area.We had already booked a table and had placed our orders prior to setting off.Due to COVID restrictions, we were led to a private area where the 6 of us could be seated well away from other guests, and we could see that they were also placed more than the compulsory 2m distancing rule.The service was great, much better than the average pub-grub hostess, and the food was first class.I opted for the full rack of ribs, where the meat fell of the bone, and was succulent and tasty. Others in my party had the fish and chips... the size of the whale on the plate as it arrived made everyone comment.Great value and great service. highly recommended.

Only had drinks on several days but a delicious hot chocolate with whipped cream. The meals the other customers were served looked very good. My daughters had takeaway fish and chips to eat on the beach and they said it was a very large piece of fish which was very fresh and the chips were also delicious, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. It was a wet day but this restaurant was crowded and the atmosphere inside was friendly and welcoming. We ordered scampi , chips and salad. The meal soon arrived and there was more on the plate than we expected. My wife counted 18 , yes 18, large pieces of scampi and there were lots of thick cut chips in a basket plus salad with all the condiments and tartar sauce. Everything was delicious and all washed down with lots of tea. It was one of the tasytiest and filling meals we have ever tasted and we are 77!My wife and I will certainly come here again when on holiday. Very smart, helpful staff and great chef. Thank you .You certainly made our day, even, dare I say it, -our holiday.

We were very pleased to have found such a lovely place, we parked right outside and were able to bring our little dog inside. We ordered our food from the lovely staff and waited only a short time. They do proper pots of tea and we had about 3 cups each. Our food was simple but delicious. My husband ate Sausages and Mash and I had the Vegan Burger which came with delicious chips and a large bun. We were too full for desert!

Good spacing between tables but possibly could do with more ventilation to feel safe rapid service and lovely friendly staff.
