The Noble Tree in Torbay

A proper traditional coffee shop with more varieties of coffee (as in the extraction process) than typically offered by cafes. Impressed to see it uses organic ingredients including milk from Riverford. Homemade mandarin flapjack was buttery and top quality, and the coffee beans had a subtle interesting flavour, a bit different to other more neutral coffees. I believe there are different varieties of beans available. Look forward to trying some freshly made sandwiches, paninis or bagels, and more cakes, later.

Lovely little coffee shop on a somewhat run down Torquay street, so this little gem comes as a surprise. Good coffee for the coffee junkie, had a very tasty lemon drizzle cake, and range of different seating including comfy armchairs. Very friendly and homely service and atmosphere.

I've been here quite a few times, small place, with lovely people, and they do have really good coffee ☕️, but this time felt like having tea. Simple and tasty food.

Fantastic little local independent cafe with an interesting coffee history! Delicious food, very generous portions and lovely coffee. Most importantly, the lady running the cafe was so friendly and attentive and seamlessly multitasked keeping a lovely busy cafe going! Lovely little cafe found for our bi-weekly visits to the area. Food is freshly prepared, and tea is served in the old traditional manner, tea leaves and strainer. We will certainly be heading back on the next visit. Thanks

Truly outstanding coffee, as someone who appreciates great coffee I love this little shop. Has a great relaxing atmosphere, playing vinyl and good range of cake! Bought some beans for my home set up too, great stuff.

The Team were so welcoming with my dog and gave me treats for him. They suggested a cold chai that was delicious and the chicken and avocado bagel with mustard was winderful, I will be borrowing this idea for the future! Thank you team ☺️

I rarely get an opportunity to choose the beans for my coffee, but 3 coffees - including an Ethiopian which was very tasty. If you ever pass, this place is a must. Friendly and welcoming staff, great atmosphere, records, amazing. Thanks again.

I was really impressed by this cafe. Was on the look out for decent coffee on my short visit to Torquay area and it didn’t disappoint. The place is quirky, well thought out, chilled vibe and excellent service on top. You have good selection of coffee preparations (including Aeropress) and there were 3 types of beans on offer when I was there. There are also a number of hot and cold food options. I enjoyed the coffee - decent strength and well prepared - for food I went for toasted tea cakes which was nicely presented. The decor is quirky/cute vibe with an old record player playing some cool tracks (with a cool selection of records in the rack). I recommend trying this place if I’m Torquay area. :)

Found this lovely cafe in Torre after shopping at M&S Torquay, big floppy sofas, and delicious coffee, the food looked really good too, must go back next week when properly open I would have loved to have chilled out there for a while

Great place at the top end of town which we came across by pure happenstance.Food was well presented and freshly made and the specialist coffee was excellent.The ambiance is unusual with a gramophone playing LPs but it all really works.Well worth the walk up to try it.

Great place with a generous and thoughtful host

Years in London running speciality coffee shops taught me how to spot a gem, and my god this little coffee shop is fantastic. I had a single origin Guatemalan cortado (one single origin coffee out of 2 which they had on offer, along another blend). It arrived in the correct sized glass, right temperature and perfectly dialled in. Tasting notes were spot on. Very fruity. The owner (Sharon) was lovely, extremely hospitable and made us feel very welcome to her tucked away store. The decor was great, whimsically eccentric but everything worked perfectly. I had the mozzarella, tomato and pesto panini which when it arrived was huge- tasted fantastic and filled me up completely. The server (never got her name) was very polite. To top it off, the toilets were spotless and there was my favourite Molton Brown hand cream available. The store itself was also spotless. Overall- next time I’m in Torquay, I will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend anyone to make the effort to get to this store. The price point of this store is amazing, 2 drinks and 2 panini’s came to less that £17.

Thank God the Noble Tree is open again. The best coffee in Torquay by a country mile. Lovely food, great cakes, simply fantastic. BTW Tripadvisor, you need to remove your note saying that this place is closed until Dec 2020 it most certainly isn’t.

What a brilliant little find. Waiting for car at Kwik Fit I stumbled across this little gem of a place. Pleasant and welcoming both in decor and the owner/staff. Selection of bean to cup coffees available and their characteristics are described to you. Intelligent and inviting snack menu plus a delicious selection of cakes.

I don't typically write reviews, I'm busy, but I had to make an exception and help spread the word. If you're any level of coffee snob, or even just enjoy coffee while you're out, this is THE best coffee in Torquay. I laughed when I read the reviews because in my last 2 visits I didn't even notice they sell cakes, I was just focused on the coffee. Oh, and it doesn't even matter to me because I'd pay whatever for this coffee, but it's also cheaper than Costa and Starbucks. I don't *hate* those places, especially Starbucks, but they can't touch this.

Visited with clients then today again with my wife.We are somewhat coffee snobs so when we find coffee that we like and if it has great service then we like to share our discoveries.The ambience is delightful with great vinyl being played which you can select if you wish.Lovely cakes and pleasant options of snacks which are all very well presented.Parking is free right outside the door what is there not to like about this place.We will be back

Tons of character, some nice vinyl playing and a relax or meet friends vibe. Great staff and a pay at the end attitude makes you feel welcome. I enjoyed a Latte and listening The Eagles whilst reading a book.

A top destination for a first class coffee, interesting environment, music from a vinyl collection and some delightful food choices.

Proper coffee, expertly described and lovingly made complemented the panini perfectly. It was made fresh, from top quality ingredients. The decor has been really well thought out and the atmosphere is just right for a sit down and relax. It's as far removed from a Costa as you could get and annihilates them quite frankly. This proves the adage- local is best

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to pop in for coffee at lunchtime today and thought we would try The Noble Tree in Torquay. We are local and cannot believe we have missed this place before. The café is absolutely amazing! This is not an exaggeration, I promise you. The service was faultless by both ladies working in there. The coffee was great and the whole look and feel of the place in just superb. They place music from old vinyl records on a record player and you can pick out a record and they'll play it while you have coffee and dine there. The seating is mixed between rustic looking tables and chairs and comfy high back arm chairs and leather sofas. So comfortable sat next to the fire, we didn't want to leave to go back to the office, it was that good!. As regular users of Torquay coffee shops we would easily rate this as the best coffee shop in Torquay, if not Torbay. We will be regular visitors to this café in future and I am recommending the Noble Tree to our friends and family. Perfect!!!!!!!

Walked past when waiting for laundry at the laundromat down the road. There were several types of coffee on offer & the lady was knowledgeable and friendly. The coffee didn’t disappoint and the lady even suggested some local places to visit.

When my favourite cafe closed down I was left without a decent double espresso. Wandering the streets of torquay between appointments I stumbled across the Noble Tree. Different blends of coffee to choose from resulting in a happy afternoon sampling. I'm now able to get my fix! I should mention that the cakes are delicious and the menu looks great too, but if the coffee were rubbish all that would be irrelevant.

Have been here so many times. Tracy, the owner, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The best coffee, by far, for miles around. On top of that the food is fresh, wholesome, freshly prepared and frankly, outstanding.

Went to the noble tree with my family. Felt we were not welcome with rude staff. We still decided to eat and my daughter had a tuna sandwich. We thought it smelt funny and when we got home she was really unwell

Lovely quiet little coffee shop who really care about providing a quality product

A delightful cafe serving high quality coffee with delightful snack that tickle the taste buds. A record player that plays a selection of vinyl records adds to the ambience. The staff are warm and welcoming. The seating is old fashioned and yet comfortable. It is possible to have a decent conversation without the interruption of modern technology. A wonderful experience which I would highly recommend.

Welcoming and interesting independent place which offers coffees from different coffee roasters. Today we tried a HasBean batch which was very tasty. The home-made cakes and brownies are always excellent. Music takes you back to the 70's and 80's with genuine LPs!
