Visited The Mariners for bar meal and drinks and very pleasantly surprised with value for money drinks and food. The staff were very friendly, in particular the lady who helps with bar meals and breakfast at Browns. A great place to stop in for friendly atmosphere.

.....which is was until 4.00pm for some reason. Odd because this was a Thursday in August but maybe there was a function on or something. Anyway we were directed to "our sister" pub which is next door and had a perfectly pleasant drink at the bar, which was pretty quiet - like most of Laugharne, which seems to have been blissfully untouched by the Keeping Faith factor. Clearly this also works as a sports venue. There was some cricket on the big screen (if that is your thing) before that all went catastrophically downhill. Very friendly lady behind the bar. Dogs welcome in the pub (always a good sign). A good stopping off point if you are exploring the town.

We stumbled on this pub by chance, we were looking for a pub that did live music, music was playing on the juke box, the barmaid was lovely, everyone in there was friendly, decided to go back the next night (friday), didn't disappoint, solo singer with a guitar, locals joined in with some songs, when he had finished for the evening they turned to karaoke, we had a fab night ,enjoyed listening ..we will return again

What? In world-famous Laugharne? Admittedly, it was a weekday evening in March but we were surprised and even more surprised when the only choice was pizza. To be fair, it was good value for money but the bases are clearly bulk-purchased. Having previously spent an hour in Brown's Hotel, we had heard several tourists ask the barman if there was anywhere to eat... with the response being that there's only the Mariners. Do Visit Wales realise Laugharne has this level of 'offer'? On the other hand, there's not a lot that they can do about it.

The Mariners has a wonderful atmosphere. With the fire roaring, the jukebox blaring, and whatever sport some Neanderthal wants on the TV, it reminds you of Christmas. There's a mishmash of folks from all walks of life, young and old, coming together to enjoy like a lovely local family.

Visited with my wife and dog of an afternoon. Aside from two men in their twenties having an after work pint (they went out to the smoking area ASAP) it was just us and the young (guessing 20 at most) bar maid. She served us our drinks and then proceeded to go to the juke box put on poor quality dance music as loud as possible for reasons I cannot fathom despite the pub already playing magic fm from its TVs. Thankfully a regular came in and told her to turn it off as it was upsetting their dog (and ours - we moved to the snug to counteract most of the noise). For a place which claims to welcome dogs this is poor form and shows a real lack of understanding. This place offers a limited menu of pizzas or chicken and chips and now calls itself a sports bar but looks like a traditional pub and bears little resemblance to its website entry. I’m just glad we got to leave after 1 pint which itself was OK. We won’t eat at less than a food hygiene rating 4 so we we’re not going to try the food at any rate. This place desperately needs to work out what it is and stick to it.

Made a special trip of some distance to this establishment on an exceptionally wet day, due to it featuring in one of my old Good Beer Guides. Stood at the bar for ages whilst the apparently sole member of staff did battle with a dysfunctional beer dispenser, tried and failed to speak to someone on the telephone and disappeared off somewhere to the rear. More standing around feeling foolish and unwelcome. When she finally reappeared a great show was made of serving other people before me. Will not tolerate rudeness and indifference in the service sector. Walked out, certainly never to return.

Menu very limited either something in a basket or pizza deal (bottle of wine and two pizzas). Ordered cod pieces and chips in the basket. Dreadful, chips were the bottom of the freezer and black. Cod soggy and tasteless. Left the majority of our meals. Another couple ordered the pizza offer which initially looked like the best choice. However they also returned their meals almost untouched as they were uncooked. The mariners should stick to serving beer instead of taking money under false pretences. What we ordered was definitely inedible.

My wife & I booked a Friday night stay, we were in the area for a wedding, the check in wasn't until 3pm. Quite easy pub/hotel to find, we parked on the street with no issues, there's a car park a short walk on the harbour too (not sure if you have to pay to park there). We ended up checking in at 10pm & spoke with staff behind the bar, it was quite loud as expect being above a pub but I brought ear plugs after reading recent reviews (!)Room was spacious, bed was very comfy, shower was fab & the tea/coffee provisions were very welcome. We paid £70 for the night which included breakfast in Browns opposite the pub.Breakfast served 8-10am, no booking needed, the staff were very friendly they took our hot food order (menu on my photos) the breakfast choice was great! We both had a full English, plus the coffee (served in a large cafetière) was amazing! In fact, we enjoyed the local bread & bacon so much we visited both bakery & Eynons Butchers on the journey home :-) Lovely little village, we will definitely return with our dogs (quite a lot of the places we visited were dog friendly) Doilch :-)

We arrived and were shown to our small double room (number 3) it was ok for one night!!! We went out for a drink and meal and returned to the pub/hotel for a drink before going to bed!The bar was noisy, we went to bed at 11pm, the bedroom floor was vibrating with the noise, and this continued to 1:30am when the drunks were chucked out and the jukebox finally turned off!! The drunks continued to shout and swear and fight outside, right beneath our bedroom window!Next morning we had a good breakfast in the Browns Hotel (sister hotel over the road!) we checked out and said how bad it had been. The receptionist apologised - but only said she'd look into it, the music is supposed to be off at 11:30!!!! I was still charged the full price!I wrote to complain and was offered a free nights accommodation!! I will not be driving five hours for a free night stay!! A very poor response! Spoils an otherwise lovely visit to Wales.

We were staying at The Browns and thought we'd try the Three Mariners restaurant, we were advised to book by The Browns but when we arrived at 7pm we were the only diners !. Half the items on the menu were crossed off, my wife decided to play it safe and have the bangers and mash, what arrived can only be described as bangers and smash with a added fly on the plate, my wife remarked that she hadn't ate powdered potato since she was a lass...........awful. I had eight bits of scampi and chips that had been fried to oblivion, in fact, I don't know if they could be classed as chips as it looked like they had been scooped out of the potato with something resembling a melon scoop........awful...

Finding somewhere good to eat out in Laugharne is a bit of a challenge, especially on a Wednesday in mid-March. In the end we had to settle for the New Three Mariners Inn, all other options being either closed or (surprisingly) booked out. The Three Mariners has the makings of a nice pub, although the stylish maritime-themed vibe is spoilt a bit with coin-in-the-slot machines, including two poised in front of the fireplace in the 'restaurant'. There's local beer on tap (we went for the ever-reliable Rev. James) and a bar meal menu that was predictable if not exactly inspired. The meals turned out to be more than adequate and good value for money. It's very much a local pub with friendly staff and clientele.

If you do not want to eat in the restaurant then you can stand at the bar or one of the high seat tables and chat to the locals or relax on the comfy sofa. There is a wood burning stove to keep you snug and tvs showing different sports ( they are not loud or intrusive) or they have a separate games room. I went here while staying over the road at Browns. A Tuesday night so i was the only person in, and felt comfortable as a lone lady. The menu is basic pub food and was pleasant enough and came quite quickly, but absolutely nothing above average, the wine was pretty bad, but the worse thing is the whole place reeked of dirty cooking fat/fried food, and i left smelling the same. We stayed here on a Travelzoo deal and having only paid £99 for 3 nights we found the accommodation okay. The hotel is under new management with 'work in progress' and hopefully once this is finished and staff working full on it will be better. We stayed mid week in room 3 above the bar and did not have any problem with noise. Breakfast was served in Browns across the road and this was excellent and well presented. Sadly Browns only had pizza in the evening which we had one night and was good. Other restaurants were closed so our choices were limited. We went to Carpenters and our last night we found the excellent, hidden jewel, Cors which only opens 3 nights. Sister venue of Browns, the new 3 Mariners is a great place to unwind and meet the locals. They serve good food, wines and beer, but the best part is the staff and locals. I was there from a monday to tuesday, quiet nights as weekends are different, but we all had a wild time drinking and chatting, it was a great experience, but did have a sore head next day.Great staff and great locals, many friendships made and will be back!!!

Visited The New Three Marriners Inn both in 2013 and just last week. The pizzas were still good - but maybe not as brilliant as they were last year - and could have done with just a few minutes longer in the oven. The garlic bread was tasty though and the two pizzas, two drinks and garlic bread for £20 offer was great value. The pub is very welcoming and the staff are great, it was just a shame that the famous quiz moved from Weds night to Sunday night, as we couldn't have a go this year!

In Laugharne last Sunday with wife, 3 grown up sons, daughter-in-law and two grandaughters, 8 and 4. Pleasant walk around looking for a Sunday Lunch in a pub with a TV to watch Grand Prix - found the Three Mariners. Had to wait a little as very busy - however. no problem as GP on and all contented, except for the foul language emanating from a small number of persons in a corner whom we took to be regular customers. The meals however were excellent and we were served away from the 'language' area and thoroughly enjoyed our different meals - top marks - some of the best pub Sunday Lunches we have ever had.It would be unfair to give an 'Average' rating because of the quality of the meals but the experience was marred as indicated above - without the problem, we would have easily have given an 'Excellent'.

Called in as two places we had tried weren't open or weren't doing food. Can't remember if it was a Friday or a Saturday but it's a night that just does a choice of pizzas or curry. The pizzas were huge and I couldn't finish it all as it was also served with a side of garlic bread. They were really tasty homemade pizzas and a drink is included for £10 per head. Really enjoyed and will come back again

Great pub, good beer and very friendly people; but the foul language being used by the regular customers in the bar was unacceptable, especially as there was a family with young children present. It was as if the use of the 'F' word is normal vocabulary. A 'swear-box' on the bar would raise a fortune for charity! The food choice is very limited, basically bar meals, both here and in the sister hotel (Browns Hotel) across the road.

Beware of the cardboard pizzas! I suspect the other items on offer are better value. If you are on a cheapskate Groupon break eat somewhere else...

Stayed in January as a Groupon deal.It was a nice local pub. Beer choice limited, food is fine but limited and the rooms are well kited out.The problem however is that there is no soundproffing. We were located above the bar and the pub is open until gone mid-night (this was a Thursday evening). The music continued until gone 1.30am and would have gone on longer if I hadn't made a fuss. Considering we were the only guest it struck me as odd that we were put in the loudest room. However, regardless of our lack of sleep the staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice.

If you want restaraunt quality this is not the place for you. Had a piza that had to be modified due to lack of published ingredience. Piza ok but have had much bettet for the price. Meal and a drink for 10 pounds not bad.
