The food here is excellent! We ordered the Soho Mixed Grill, Butter Chicken and Garlic naan. It was full of flavour, great masala’s and spices and huge portion sizes. It was cooked fresh to order. This is the best grill place to visit in Birmingham! The price is good value considering the quality of the food and portion size. The staff were friendly and helpful. We came from London and would come back here!

Visiting this tavern is always a gastronomic delight! 😌 As someone not from the UK, every visit here leaves me in awe of the incredible flavors and dishes they offer. The food is simply insane, and I mean that in the best possible way. The bathrooms are also always clean which is a plus for sure! Whether you're a local or a traveler like myself, this place is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience. ‼️

Absolutely unreal food every time I visit. I must eat here at least every month because it’s just SO good. I’m a fussy vegetarian and the fact they have so much for veggies/vegans makes it so much better. The staff are always so helpful and friendly (especially the young lads on the bar!) this is by far my favourite ever restaurant!

Food poor compares to similar places...second rate

Very disappointing had crispy wings no seasoning and were burnt not crispy. Rice dish was dry. Fish pakora was fine. Not value for money. Would not return sadly.

Had a lovely family meal, and we used the upstairs part of the restaurant. The food was lovely.

We had the best mixed grill ever at this place , when we arrived it wasn't busy but by 7pm when we left people was standing inside for a table also queuing outside that shows how good the food was .

Have only ever previously ordered takeaway from here, however some friends came to visit so I suggested here. Amazing food. Good prices. We had cheese naan, roti, desi butter chicken, chicken tikka wrap, fish pakora and egg fried rice. Definitely will be coming back!

Very friendly and quick service

One of the Brum mixed grill GOATs for sure and they also do hakka/indochinese. Eat in or delivery it’s always delicious and the only desi pub to do TANDOORI PRAWNS this well, everyone I’ve taken here has had their mind blown! Every curry has been good too. Also love when you order and you request extra green sauce they send bare tubs.

Lovely place....Hidden Jewel in Handsworth crown. Would return again and recommend. Came here for lunch with a friend. Staff were friendly and not overly sweet. Food came to the table hot and sizzling!.... Menu is Indian food. Loads to choose. You order at the bar, and it is brought to you.

Been here twice in recent weeks for a takeaway at dinner time. First time I had the mixed wrap (kebab & tikka) along with chilli cheese fries and second time I had just a tikka wrap. The food is VERY tasty and portion sizes are spot on. The speed of service is also really good, it took about 10-15 minutes for my orders to be ready and they were ready both times within the specified time that they gave me. It is tucked away down some side streets not far from the Soho Road. The restaurant is clean, well decorated and overall has a good feel about it. I will definitely be back at some point!

Delicious food at reasonable prices, with a curry and a naan at just over a tenner. That was ample food for me without rice, but the chilli chips are a must have too. Quick service and a friendly, casual place. Was busy on a Thursday lunchtime

4th visit, food is superb. Being an extremely old 50 something, I find it too loud, but that's because it's busy! Would still recommend though.

Unreal Grill and Curry House in Birmingham. Grilled meats are just the best around. The traditional Asian curry dishes are unbelievably tasty; both meat and vegetarian. Portions very good value for money and generous. I'll make the trip up from Bristol multiple times per year because it's that good. Staff are polite and friendly. Atmosphere, warm and welcoming with a posh-pub like feel. A well priced bar with alcoholic drinks available. Live Sports on TV, upstairs seating, and balcony/outdoor seating in suitable weather. Can get very busy suggest booking in advance on a Fri/Sat evening. 100% recommend to anyone for mixed-grills and curries. Always make sure to order a side of the famous Chilli Chip!! Also plenty of take away boxes and bags to fill up with left overs to take home. One of my favourite spots to chill at mid-week watching sports, eating grub, and having a beer with friends as a student in the City. Only downside, parking an be difficult so recommend a taxi or Uber especially, if you plan to have a drink.

Another visit to Soho Tavern, another good experience. Queueing system seems chaotic as they take your phone number and put you in a long, seemingly unordered queue, and phone signal is pretty bad in there so you're often sat wondering whether you're actually gonna get a table, but it seems to work and eventually your turn comes around. Small mixed grill and a naan is always enough for me. Plenty of meat on the chicken wings and the lamb is nice and spicy.

It was good service not the best the place looked alright but the food is just not my style I would recommend McDonald’s

Real family friendly pub great food available a little disorganized someone to meet greet and allocate tables at times would be a great help, as we turned up a party of 9 and had to wait till we could find free tables next to each other, but other than that service was nearly perfect apart from one female staff member who was glass collecting she was rude to public and other staff members and not a ideal floor member or team player. We had a couple of dishes come out wrong but it was corrected and we was real happy with that will be back next time we visit Birmingham Updated we have been back and things have changed We was welcomed at the door a table was allocated to suit our party the menu's are new! With lots of new things to try, we had the soho grill along with curry's and sides and everything was brilliant Table service was brilliant and quick to remove finished dishes so the table looked tidy as we ate also allowed us to order more bits Really worth a visit

Surprisingly great food and service. The pub is located in an industrial area and it is very busy on a Friday and Saturday, this doesn't compromise the quality of food or service provided by the staff.

Great place for friends and family. Really good quality food and quick service. Better to book on Fridays and weekends because it gets busy but they have an effective system for walk ins. Great value, especially the Grill Platters. Lots of vegetarian friendly options too

Edit: I ordered again and the portion size was back to normal so I'm chalking up last time to an honest mistake and amending my review. I'm very happy and as always, great quality food. 👍 The quality of the food is always great and I order regularly, but I'm sad to see that on my last delivery, one of my favourite dishes, the chilli cheese chips has arrived in a shallow container about half it's usual size, effectively reducing the portion by half but still at the same price point as before. Disappointing.

Food as always very good. Though on this occasion very late for the food to arrive. Had to wait 40 mins which was unacceptable. Focus was more on takeaways then in house customers. Let's hope they get it right going forward

The staff do try to be accommodating and helpful. I ate here with my son and a former work colleague along with his wife. I found the food to be excellent and it didn't take long for it to be prepared. I would pleased that they allowed us to take our leftover home in plastic containers.

Honestly you cannot talk about mixed grills in Birmingham without mentioning this place. Absolutely phenomenal food at very good prices and quick service. Chilli chips are award winning, and deservedly so. I'm a big fan of mixed grills, but this place does one of the best vegetarian mixed grills ever; Id order this before the other mixed grill to be honest. Has deservedly earned a good reputation. It does have a loud atmosphere and has the vibe of a place for locals to hang out.

Food was excellent, had a bit of an issue with the order, but they rectified it asap. Will be going back again!

I attended a staff reunion here on Friday 15th December. I have to say what an absolutely terrific venue. The staff were brilliant, friendly, and curteous, and they went out of their way to ensure everything was spot on. The function room was perfect for our needs. The food was out of this world 👌 and plentiful.

Really poor food! Asked for lamb vindloo, she asked " what spice heat" 😂 It was 2 pieces lamb & full of onion! Because they get alot customers they don't care what they serve!

The best chilli chips out of all the desi pubs I've been to. A very strong mixed grill, although I'd put a vote in for swapping some chicken wings for fish pakoras. Great service, with food served quickly and very attentive staff.

Ordered a boneless mix grill. Tasted good to be fair but they sent no sauces and no salad for a grill costing over £20 and almost £30 delivered.

Several errors made on takeaways today has got to be the worst. Ordered garlic naan and got keema stuffed naan for vegetarians!!!!! My mother who has naam ate it unknowingly she is distraught - how an Indian restaurant can make this school boy error is beyond me, extremely disappointed and angry😡🤬

Excellent boneless mixed grill and chilli cheese chips. Everybody seemed happy with there food and good portion sizes. Only thing I would have liked is my massala to be red and sweeter but that is a personal thing. I was amazed at the amount of seating I thought the decor was impressive for the area this establishment is set in. Parking is a pain as no car park so it's street parking on a busy section of road, so no secure parking. All in all an excellent venue and great food. Thank you.

visited Soho Tavern today and was disappointed with the overall experience. Despite ordering a dish that was supposed to be mild according to the menu, it turned out excessively spicy. The staff refused to consult the chef or provide an explanation. When we requested to speak with the manager or owners, there was a lack of response. The disregard for customer concerns and the assumption that only intoxicated patrons visit the establishment was disheartening. The subpar food quality not only spoiled the evening but also led to significant wastage as we had to leave most of the uneaten meal behind. It's not just about the money; it's about the taste and service that failed to meet expectations. Feeling poorly sick

I ordered in the classic veg grill. The proportion was huge. The soya bits were tasty. The paneer was either uncooked or stale and hard. The ketchup/sauce coating was too much. Taste was not bad overall but i doubt the quality. I liked the kebabs.

Fabulous place!! The food looks and smells incredible and the choice is amazing! The drinks and cocktail options are fab- they do wonderful Passionfruit Mojitos! And the service is brilliant. Friendly and charismatic staff, who make you feel very welcome!

We arrived as a walk-in, and they managed to fit us in. Starters were great, my kind of spice level, crispy wings were amazing, lollipop chicken was great, chilli paneer was good as well. Fish tikka was tasty alongside the mix grill. As for the mains I won't say whether they were good or bad as some people in my group liked them, I personally found them on the sweet side, they were chicken, punjabi and jalfrezi curries, with lamb rara, which I asked for medium hot but came out mild. I think this would be a great place to go to in summer. Will defo go again.

Third time visiting. Just as enjoyable as the first time we went. The place is clean, food is delicious, service is quick, the staff are polite and regularly check you are happy with the food. The atmosphere is always buzzing too, it has a nice mix of customers from different backgrounds :) This is now our favourite local food spot. The prices are really good too!! Very important. Deffo recommend.

Another decent option for a desi gastro pub. Only tried the paneer tikka roll so can't say much about the grub but ate well and watched the footy on a Sunday afternoon. Can't really complain although they could have added some garlic sauce and green chillies to the mix!!

Now this is what you call an Indian restaurant. You can't fault the food. Reasonably priced. The new makeover is good too. Not as cramped as before. We would recommend table service for the drinks using a mobile phone system. This would save a lot of time and make the bar far less crowded.
