The Natural Apothecary Health Food Shop and Cafe in East Hampshire

We found this under “vegan” on Google while on our way further south and it turned out to be a bit of a find. Great food, imaginative menu and very friendly staff. Perfect for gf and df requirements 😊

An absolute charming establishment in the centre of Petersfield, which proved to be an absolute delight for brunch. It has an extensive organic menu, which had a cuisine well suited for vegan and vegetarians. There is a specials board with daily meals as well. The coffee was excellent and strong, served in a fantastic environment by staff who are extremely pleasant and attentive. One last important thing, they are dog friendly !

Such a lovely atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and obviously the food & drinks are delicious ! Highly recommend

Great find. I have been meeting a friend in Petersfield for many years as it’s half way for us both. But this is our first visit. Very friendly. Seriously good food. A proper pot of Earl Grey tea. The soup of the day was excellent. I just wish I could have managed one of their delicious looking cakes……..next time. This will be our regular meeting place now.

Best full veggie breakfast ever. Strangely chilly on a rainy morning and a few service mix ups but food made up for it. Will come again!

We love the food and drinks on offer here. We often stop here for lunch, consisting of a main and 3 salads. All very tasty. Service is generally very good but can vary depending on how busy it is and staff numbers/experience. Dogs are welcome at the front but this is limited to a couple of tables. We often sit out the back on a nice day as there are tables in the small courtyard. One of our favourites in Petersfield.

I always love visiting this place. It has such a calm vibe. But today, I got takeaway for lunch....delicious salmon and salad, and my favourite indulgence, Golden Milk. Set me up nicely for an afternoon of work. Portions are excellent for the price. The choice of food is great, and always delicious. Thank you 😊

Bad service, rude waiter, food came cold when I asked for it hot! Am I a joke or am I customer?? Might as well have gone Tesco, meal did would suffice!

In this cost of living crisis I would say don’t eat here!!!! OVER PRICED, WEAK PORTIONS and POOR QUALITY! Will not be returning, shame on you!

A perfect place for lunch, the staff are friendly and attentive, food delicious and healthy and the atmosphere relaxing. It was my first time and will definitely return.

We were very pleased with the food we ordered. It was plentiful, tasty and nutritious but we were not pleased with the surroundings or some of the staff. Although the surroundings have changed little over the years the cafe now allow dogs , which to some non dog owners is a negative, and when we arrived we were offered a table very close to a couple with two dogs and the dogs were sitting in seats which would have been far too close to us. We declined. IF dog owners must bring their pets everywhere surely the animal must be made to sit on the floor under the table. I would not be happy sitting on a seat newly vacated by dogs ,for obvious reasons as well as matters of hygiene. This brings me to my second point, the aforementioned dog owners clearly knew the management and they were all buddy , buddy thus the staff allowed them to have their dogs on seats. Also, when a young woman came in a member of staff gave this lady a prolonged hug and others crowded around chatting, blocking the doorway and with their backs to customers. Surely , whatever the relationship, it should be enacted behind the scenes? We were made to feel as if were irrelevant.

Fabulous brunch or lunchtime cafe with amazing coffee and drinks located at the war memorial end of the high street. 3 salads lunches especially good. Staff are v friendly and food quality v good Yesterday we saw a notice that they are now doing some evening openings too. Worth a look.

A welcome with a smile on entry, polite and efficient taking of order, good quality coffee and cake. Can recommend both the vegan chocolate orange cake and the carrot cake. Overall an enjoyable coffee and cake experience.

My favourite place to eat in Petersfield. Lots of healthy tasty food, drinks and even sugar free cakes! Always leave feel nourished. Great options if you’re veggie or a meat eater.

I came to Petersfield with my wife and daughter for an appointment and decided to stop for some lunch as well. Not knowing any of the eateries I did a quick search on the internet for something close by. We decided upon The Natural Food Deli and what a great find this is. The food was fresh and very tasty, I had three kinds of salads with quiche of the day which was just fabulous. The flavours and fresh herbs used made me want to try and replicate them at home they were so good. The staff were also lovely and friendly too. Can't wait to come back and try another dish, shame they don't have an establishment in my local town of Haslemere, I'd be in there all the time. Enough gushing, well done to the team.

We had breakfast here and we did enjoy it although I think the breakfast selection could be expanded a bit. I’m thinking more use of mushrooms, peppers, spinach, homemade baked beans etc at breakfast time. Frittata maybe. Or Huevos rancheros. Something to emphasise their fresh produce. Also possibly something to keeps the kids happy. They can be fussy eaters - luckily ours settled for toast and jam but I don’t think there was a second choice they were interested in. PS we enjoyed the choice of breads eg sourdough and rye and coffee was lovely.

My partner and I visited Petersfield early in the morning as we are considering moving to the area. We found The Natural Food Deli close to the property we were viewing just on the edge of the high street. The food options were very inclusive (I eat gluten free where I can) and extremely tasty!! We had the avocado gluten free option with a poached egg and bacon (my partners request for fried egg was accommodated)! The portion was amazing - honestly such beautiful presentation and taste! The person who served us had such a beautiful, warm and welcoming face, a lovely smile and the energy was just amazing. We would definitely return here and could see it becoming a regular spot for food at all times of the day. If you work remote it would be a perfect spot for a few hours on your laptop, blog or book writing etc! Decor was quirky! Very progressive menu overall and would love to try more. Absolutely gorgeous food. Myself and a friend enjoyed a veggie breakfast, a juice and a ‘real’ hot chocolate. Generous portions and super fast service. Rob (owner) made us feel really welcome and it had the most magical atmosphere. Will definitely come again! 5*!!!!

We enjoyed the real hot chocolate and the vegan lemon and lime cheese cake was particularly tasty.

Particularly good range of gluten free foods. Large choice of GF cakes (rather than just the usual dreaded GF brownie!) and breakfasts, salads and sandwiches can be made GF if requested. Also very good options for lactose intolerance, vegetarians or vegans. Coffee excellent - well balanced (not too bitter or sweet) with full flavour and fresh aromas. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about cross-contamination risks. We felt safe eating here with our dietary requirements (Coeliac disease and lactose intolerance). It is tucked away just off the high street so not too busy and has a nice ambiance.

Delicious, nutritious food. Lovely space. I worked for them several years ago, one of the best places I've ever worked. Management make a huge effort to provide a great customer experience while being supportive and kind to staff. Still the best carrot cake I've ever had.

Full, rich, tasty coffee; the carrot cake was moist and delicous, the tiramisu was also great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We have the soup of the day, leek and potato, with sourdough bread, which was delicious and freshly made. It was reasonably priced and warmed us up on a chilly day. I will return to try the rest of the menu, which I'm reliably informed is excellent. Staff were very pleasant.

Food was great, but service was awful. After 20 mins of being ignored, I had to go and find someone to ask if we could order some food. It then looked like our drinks order got forgotten, so our food was left (ready) in the kitchen, while we reminded the staff that we didn't have any drinks. Half an hour in, and we finally got our drinks, immediately followed by the food that had been plated up 5 or 10 mins ago. Food was great, but the chef was badly let down by the waiting staff. And then we had to listen to the, 'sorry, but we were really busy and we're understaffed' story - that sort of 'it wasn't really our fault because...' excuse really does annoy me - how hard is it to say, 'you're right, we got it wrong and we're sorry'? Shame - the food was great and we've been a few times in the past and always liked the place - unlikely to ever return again. They did take off the cost of the drinks, and offered to take off the cost of the food aswell - but I didn't come here for free food or drink - just nowhere near good enough.

Super lovely staff and absolutely delicious gluten free savoury food. The salads are superb, and the salmon I had is perfect every time. Sadly, disappointing dessert, the pear and lime cheesecake tasted only of coconut unfortunately. Turmeric latte was yummy, but the chai latte was very watery and flavourless. Really relaxed atmosphere, would definitely go more often if it was slightly more affordable!

Delicious food and great service

We popped in for a quick coffee that very quickly turned into a delicious breakfast. The vegetarian breakfast is very tasty with lots of flavours. It looks like this small ball won’t fill you up, but you’ll be mistaken. Very happy with the options available and the friendly staff. Can’t comment on lunch but there are plenty of options too. We shall be returning. Thank you to the team at the Natural Food Deli.

Amazing healthy food, coffee & green drinks in town, appreciate someone put that effort to run this great place. Reasonable price and good vibes, staffs are helpful and friendly. We order eggs on sourdough, avocado on sourdough with extra spinach, vegan orange & dark chocolate cake is yummy! We had a wonderful breakfast before drive back to London.

Really lovely staff and tastey food

Felt compelled to write a review for this lovely eatery. From the moment we arrived we could see it was busy but the owner was straight on us and made up a lovely area for the 3 of us. So friendly and welcoming, a rare find these days! Our order was taken promptly and our coconut lattes were hot (again rare) and probably the best I’ve had. Ordered the vegetarian breakfast which was perfectly cooked. I loved the fact there was a real steer towards healthy on the menu and everything was labeled with allergens. I give this place 5 stars, can’t fault it, only wish I could have tried more on the menu! I will definitely return.

I came to The Natural Food Deli earlier this week with my mum and had to write a review! The staff were really lovely and super helpful, they easily kept the social distance throughout the process, were very clear about our seating options and how things are running at the moment, we felt very safe! Then the food came and was really delicious, the portion size was generous and all round we were really impressed. I’d highly recommend it for a friendly, local cafe!

We have been regular customers of this lovely place for many years and missed it during the lock down.After having isolated for 12 weeks due to a member of my family being vulnerable, we were really looking forward to visiting this venue. As always our lunch was healthy and tasty but visiting 2 other venues before, we found that you are not really following all the necessary precautions to keep this place COVID19 Friendly and we did not feel safe. Could not believe that none of the staff were wearing a face mask despite you were still trying to keep the social distance and like in other venues you did not take our names and contact details. We also saw at least 3 or 4 people coming in through the side door. Nobody was keeping a check of this, which is unacceptable in this current situation.In the old days I would have given you 5 stars rating for the food, customer service and friendly staff but am afraid I am only giving you 3 stars because we are only starting to ease the lockdown following the pandemic and for your sake and the general public sake. "Please make it COVID19 Friendly and take all the necessary precautions.

Not local to the area so went on past reviews and glad we found it. Seems like the sort of outlet that should thrive in a town like Petersfield (meant in a nice way!). The menu is varied, plenty of intersting salads and importantly helpful staff that understood the importance of gluten free options for a Coeliac. Lots of other healthy options. Slightly daunting going in for the first time but once we'd worked out "find a table and then order at the till" all was fine. Will definitely be making a second visit.

Found this little gem while riding through the area. They have a full menu, juice bar and coffee shop with a good selection of desserts/treats. It is a small, cozy place with a very friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed the fact that everything was clearly labeled, and the choices for gluten free were vast. Overall the prices for food was a bit steep for the area - I felt as if I was paying London prices. The coffee was outstanding, and the gluten free millionaire shortbread was very rich - more bitter than sweet - which was a great twist on the usual. If I am in the area I will be back to try more.

Real good home made soup! Like the bread too. They have good vegan options for food including salad. Not had any of that but vegan soup was good. Place is lovely with excellent customer service

What a fabulous find for lunch! Ate the halloumi, houmous & rocket on gluten free bread. Great presentation & tasted fabulous! They also have a good healthy range on menu and great selection of healthy drinks so many to choose from. Will definitely be back soon!

Loved the Apothecary, not so keen on the new version 😕, the name is changed and so are the service and offerings inside, preferred it as it was.

As locals we have always enjoyed our weekend brunch visits to The Apothecary. Then suddenly it closed down. It remained closed for several weeks so we assumed the worst. Then a couple of weeks ago (Novermber 2019) it opened up again with a subtle change of name The Apothecary had become 'The Natural Food Deli;. Some tables had been moved out to make way for display space for cereal bars, bags of muesli etc. Rather than table service you now have to queue to place your order at the counter and some dishes had been removed from the menu. The food is still delicious and the smoothies and juices excellent and I'm sure we'll go again but it now doesn't feel quite as though it is one thing or another. Calling it a Deli is stretching it. I think I preferred it before.

I could not fault this place. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The most delicious pea and leek soup. And the cake selection...... Well I will have to return to sample them!

Popped in on a pouring wet day when I was in the area, having remembered their chicken satay from a previous visit. No time to stay for lunch so bought the satay and salads to go. Was handed a large box containing hot satay and 6 salads! Ate the chicken in the car along with some of the salad. The chicken satay was one of the best things I have ever eaten - would love the recipe - very tasty and lovely moist chicken. I popped the box in tbe fridge when I got home and had the rest for supper. Will be back!

Looked for a nice,easy going and healthy place for a quick lunch. Staff made us feel welcome and food was lovely. We have tried few specials, all salads and chicken main - all great, very healthy food. Good selection of freshly squeezed juices which I m always up for it. Price? Want to eat healthy, organic, vegan unfortunately it costs more. Well to all the team.
