The Nags Head in Gedling

Just back from enjoying a very nice meal at The Nags Head, in Woodborough, it was the first outing for serval months and everything was spot on. The staff were all pleasant and helpful and we were treated efficiently and politely whilst following the 'Covid' rulesI' We were required to wear masks whilst going through the pub to the outside seatting area, which wasn't a problem. Would definately recommend and we hope to return gain soon.

We have eaten and drank here since it’s re - opening after the pandemic. Unfortunately today we had an awful experience... we had just done a 4 hour trip back from the seaside. We chose to eat here as it has the best outdoor space and shelter and it was torrential rain all day. We were glad to of gotten out the car. I’m 5 months pregnant, I was with my partner and 4 year old child. We were desperate for a hot dinner and drinks after such a drive. As we entered the pub we were greeted by the manager who said he would be with us in a minute. We said no problem as we were all desperate to use the toilet. As we came out he loos. The manager asked us if we had face masks to which we said we didn’t as we are all exempt. He asked us if we had an exemption card ! By law you don’t have to prove your exempt with such a card so no we didn’t have one. Plus after being in the establishment several times before there had never been an issue. When we politely said we had no such thing. The manager tried to refuse us entry. We were explaining our reasons for exemption and he did not listen... we went to sit down , then within a minute or two. Explained he’d spoken to his boss, who had asked us too leave. His body language, his un reasonable reasoning and rudeness to us was disgraceful , highly embarrassing, discriminatory behaviour ! Unsatisfactory service and certainly won’t be getting our custom in the future. Still thinking about looking into taking this matter further.

Went today for lunch at the Nags Head. Excellant staff amazing , so much food choices I had Fish and chips and Daughter had burger beautiful big portions.We felt very safe plenty of room between tables and so relaxed feeling with all the covid rules followed.Thank you for normality.

Hemos visitado varias veces y estamos muy contentos de ver la forma en que tienen las cosas organizadas con un buen personal que nos mantiene a salvo.La comida estaba a la altura de su buen nivel habitual y debo felicitarlo por la forma en que organizó la comida para llevar cuando el pub estaba cerrado. Estuvimos encantados de recoger las comidas para llevar que se mantuvieron calientes cuando las recogimos y lo disfrutamos muchísimo.Bien hecho a todos ustedes.

Hoy visité Nags Head para almorzar. Me sentí muy seguro con todas las medidas en su lugar. Mi amigo tenía la tarta de tres quesos de la tabla de ofertas especiales y yo comí chili de ternera y arroz. La razón por la que este lugar es tan popular es que la comida siempre es buena y el servicio es excelente. Clive, el propietario, está siempre disponible para comprobar que todo está a su entera satisfacción. ¡Bien hecho a todo el equipo!

Vivimos en el pueblo, pero tendemos a ir más a las Cuatro Campanas, pero como no se ha vuelto a abrir, hemos visitado aquí varias púas y ¡es genial! Tienen una muy buena configuración para Covid, el personal es amable y la comida es decente. Tuvimos un almuerzo de domingo que fue muy agradable, definitivamente visitaremos más.

Hemos comido aquí varias veces y nunca me ha decepcionado. . Esta vez reservamos para el almuerzo en lugar de la cena. Bueno, una vez más, la comida era excelente, el servicio muy bueno y muy bien organizado. . el lugar se llenó muy rápido y para cuando nos fuimos no había una mesa vacía. . . Algunas personas tuvieron que esperar por una mesa que no había reservado. . Para un pub de pueblo pequeño es obviamente muy popular, lo que complementa al chef y al personal. . . Bien hecho ?

Encontró la cabeza de Nags por accidente. La comida es excelente, el lugar es acogedor y, aunque está en un pequeño pueblo, el personal es increíblemente amable y servicial. Este es el lugar donde elegimos tener un almuerzo antes de Navidad. Tres cursos para menos de 15. Todo bien organizado y delicioso. A menudo deseaba vivir en Woodborough solo para disfrutar de los esfuerzos de Nags Head.

Booked a big group for Sunday lunch, and the varied menu suited us all. Good value freshly cooked food, didn’t take an age to arrive either and puddings were equally good. Decent size garden out the back that the kids enjoyed playing in too.

This is an excellent village pub for drinks and food.. The menu is good with a choice of light bites for those who don’t want a big meal.. also normal menu has a very good selection of food to suit everyone.. The staff are very friendly, cheerful and nothing to much trouble. The place is quaint, a bit old fashioned but still comfortable and very clean and tidy..

This was a good village pub providing acceptable “pub grub “. The majority of its menu reheated frozen products which in the main were ok and good value. However over recent months the chef appears to be on a bonus to improve profits with lower quality food, eat and fish and smaller portions eg smaller portions of fish made up to look larger by surrounding it with more batter.

Never been to this village before and what a nice surprise. Really friendly, clean and really busy so think food is ok although I cant say as only popped in for a drink. Relaxed and oldy worldy but suited the village.

Two seniors out for a tripette, came upon the Nags Head at lunchtime. A warm welcome, the menus full and imaginative and we duly found ourselves a very pleasant table near the garden entrance. To order, you do require your table number, but these are clearly set out on each position. The whole property has a feeling that it is cared for, very clean and tidy throughout, and the dreaded toilets were immaculate.My wife and I both choose the grilled gammon, that arrived in a good time frame and was very well presented, with two soft fried eggs....a very substantial meal, and very well prepared.We would certainly visit again and have recommended the establishment to friends.

We went to the Nags Head yesterday tea time . We ordered ,the steak and ale pie ,mash and seasonal vegetables .lt was chosen from the small bites section of the menu ,but when it arrived it was a plateful of great food .The pie was the best pie lve ever eaten ,full of good quality tender beef and a tasty gravy . The whole meal was perfect ,and the service was the best . I will be going back very soon ,my daughter and grandson have gone back again tonight ,without me ,lol lol .

Popped in for a quick lunch. Lots of choice on the menu and wasn’t expecting too much from the pub at all. Pleasantly surprised. We both fancied fish and chips. When I went to order I was asked if I wanted the “normal” sized ones or a smaller plate. I asked what the difference was which was a whole fish. So we had one of each. Well I’m glad I was told this as the normal sized portion was huge. My smaller portion was perfect and priced well. Normally when you opt for a smaller size you get a poxy portion but not here. Very impressed start to finish although the food came out really hot so had to give it a few minutes to cool. Will be returning.

Great friendly pub, good food, reasonable prices, good food choices. Nice garden. Recommend. Been several times, and never had a bad visit or food. Will continue to go for lunches as often as possible.

Siempre un ambiente agradable y acogedor con buena comida a precios razonables. Incluso su perro será bienvenido en la zona del bar. Incluso fuimos a una de las salidas que los anfitriones organizaron para los clientes y eso también fue genial. El Nags Head es bastante local para nosotros, así que vamos allí regularmente.

No hay nada demasiado problemático para este increíble pub: el chef Dave es simplemente excepcional y atiende a cada individuo, sin importar cuáles sean sus preferencias de comida, el personal del bar siempre es excepcional y lo hace sentir muy bienvenido, especialmente AJ y Liam, el gerente del bar - Recomiendo encarecidamente un viaje aquí para el almuerzo o el té. ¿El pescado y las papas fritas son legendarios 5?

The food was excellent. Very tasty, plentiful, hot but not microwaved. The place was very clean and the tables were cleared very quickly. Attentive, but not overly attentive staff. Good value for money. Nice outdoor area, including a nice, safe children’s play area.

This was the first time that I've eaten here and it certainly won't be the last.

when booking a table over the phone I was told that a large party had booked in and I may have to wait a little longer for food,the restaurant was very busy,we ordered our food ,only 20minutes wait and all 4 meals were served,the food was hot,cooked as we had asked,and delicious,the staff are all polite and attentive,top class service and food ...superb,thank you

I was greeted on the bar by AJ who took my food and drinks order. I had asked Aj what he recommended which was the lasagne which I found to be great. It came with a side of thick cut chips and fresh salad.

My partner and I visited this pub for lunch today. We have eaten at this pub some years ago when the food was more than adequate and we had no complaints.

A pub with a large dining room and large car park. It gets lots of custom from elderly residents from the surrounding villages. They do a menu with standard size meals and lite bites. Have been here lots of times despite it being over half an hour from home. The food is consistently good and the service is good. Personally I would prefer at table ordering rather than ordering at the bar but this is a minor thing. It does get busy, when I was last thère for lunch a group of 10 and another group of 8 dropped in on spec, which they went out of their way to rejig tables to accommodate. Well worth a visit

On both Friday, as a group of 3 and on Sunday last week as a group of 6 as a family we ate at this pub/restaurant on both occasions all meals were extremely well presented, the meals were well cooked, pleasant and portions were large, there was no wastage from any meal or desert.

Went for lunch with a friend on Wednesday and we both came away completely delighted by the whole experience. The food was reasonably priced and DELICIOUS! - beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and polite, and the manager took the trouble to check if all the diners were happy. Lovely traditional English pub in a lovely village. Congratulations to everybody! (especially the chef!).

As regular visitors and reading the previous review only fair to the chef to mention when quality is very good.we went last weds I had steaky and ale pie and my partner fishy and chips.both were EXCELLENT particularly the pie The service was good also

Having visited many times I had the worse meal today here. We had sunday dinner.

just had my 70th birthday lunch at the nags with 6 grandchildren as one is on a special diet we arranged with dave the head chief to do a 3 course meal so not left out it was brill ,all food was served to a very high standard and enjoyed by all, nothing to much trouble just ask.thanks for a great day roll on next one

Visited here on Sunday and found the staff and Landlord friendly and helpful. The meal was lovely and good value. Would definitely return.

Good on Sunday lunch but even better during the week when they have s little more time and more imaginative menu. For a group pub this place is generally excellent. A couple of smiles from behind the bar would not go amiss but generally good beer and good food - I miss the pool table.

Nice village pub, plenty of car parking. No enough serving in the bar area on the sunny day we visited. Chose to eat in the garden a bit annoying having to queue for a long time in the bar area to order food, no separate location to order and pay for food. Food delivered within a reasonable time period and was of a standard expected for pub food, no better or no worse than other establishments.

We were pleased we had booked a table as the pub was very busy and a few tables were reserved for parties.. Even though it was full the food was up to its usual good standard and we didn't have to wait too long. The service was excellent and very friendly as usual...

Popped in for a pint with the partner and dog tonight. Only one girl serving with a huge queue of people wanting to order drinks, food, some for parties of 6+. Waited patiently as the young girl was trying her best to keep things going. Someone else appeared from nowhere and started serving. Never asked who was next etc. so I left. I think if you are a busy pub which this ones seems to be getting for food then you should have a special area where orders can be taken or at the table so other people can enjoy their local just for a drink.Think I'll pop down the road next time.

We called in on spec and were warmly greeted at the bar.I ordered the pork loin, delicious, my husband ordered the steak pie, equally delicious.My only complaint was the food was going cold by the time we finished our food, the plates should be hot.

We popped in for Sunday lunch and found a vacant table.We both ordered the smaller meal priced at £6.95 (the larger version is £8.95).We were more than happy with the size of our meals which along with our choice of meat came with really fresh veg, stuffing, yorkshire pudding, mash & roast potatoes and plenty of gravy. We also enjoyed a bottle of very reasonably priced Jack Rabbit pinot grigio, which was very nice.Staff were very efficient and friendly and we will return.

Often meet up with friends here for drinks. Staff always friendly. Good garden, with swings, for children. Never orderd vegan food but they have a range of vegetarian options.

We went for tea on Saturday after my sons birthday party, considering there were 12 of us, the service was great and the food lovely, staff very friendly and helpful, really nice experience, thank you

This is a nice pub in the village of Woodborough which is on the outskirts of Nottingham just ff the A6097, we went with friends and we had booked. On arrival we were quickly shown to our table.All drinks and food must be ordered at the bar but there was plenty of pleasant staff serving so no long wait, on Sunday you can eat from the main menu or from a specials menu, as a note midweek they do s lite bites menu at lunchtime for £5.95 and an unusual time to dine menu between 6.00 pm and 7.30 pm and the price you pay is the time you order.We went for the Sunday lunch with choice between beef, turkey and lamb, the do a full portion for £8.95 or a smaller version for £6.95 for smaller appetites, we all had the lamb which came out on a large oval plate and was accompanied with roast and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cabbage, stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding and it was very nice.All desserts were £4.25 and we went for a Summer pudding, strawberry cheesecake, caramel apple pie and cheeses and biscuits, I think the summer pudding was the winner but the were all nice and came with either cream or ice cream.Great no frills pub with good food.

It was like travelling back to the 50s. The decor was shabby and faded and there was no atmosphere. Staff performed their roles in a perfunctory manner and seemed anxious to clear the pub, switching lights off as soon as tables were vacated, wayptchung for the last mouthful of a drink to be taken and pouncing when the glass was put on the table. The landlord /manager was under the misapprehension that he was funny, when actually he was simply embarrassing.

The staff were pleasant and welcoming. Not too busy but a enjoyable ambience.The fish and chips were tasty but the mixed grill was disappointing. It looked fine but the steak and gammon were tough and really chewy. Generally the other meats were not best quality . But portions sizes were ok. Maybe try something else another time.

We had passed this pub several times after visits to Nottingham and determined that one day we would stop for lunch as it looks so nice from the road. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and we found s nice table near the window. The furnishings look a little dated, 70s style carpet and dark dining furniture but it was smart and clean. It does appear though that it is a very popular spot for the elderly, as virtually all the other diners were of a certain age (unless it's just a Tuesday deal). We ordered Avocado & Prawn and Thai Fishcakes as our starters, which were fine, however the fishcakes were still slightly frozen inside. They were replaced and the item removed from our bill, which was nice. Mains were Steak & Ale Pie which was full of meat and very tasty, also the Pork Stack (Cumberland sausage, pork steak and gammon) with black pudding and fried egg, 1lb of meat. It was quite tasty but a lot to eat, so no room for dessert. Overall the food was good value pub grub, but I was left feeling quite disappointed.

The fish n chips were lovely, freshly cooked, and you can even get take away, but the small fish was extremely small, more suitable for a child, and I think this should be emphasised when ordering.

My mother, wife and I went to this pub for Mothers Day lunch, a fortnight in advance we were unable to book a table until 4 pm, because of the day some items had been removed from the extensive menu, but this did not cause us any problems. The staff gave us a friendly greeting and rapidly seated us at the reserved table, the staff were attentive without being intrusive, the meals arrived i a timely manner and were very well presented at the table, all three meals were a visual and olfactory delight, prior to a taste sensation. The portions are extremely generous. The desert menu was a real pleasure.

My husband and I decided to go somewhere for lunch and plumped upon The Nag's Head. We didn't make a mistake.The staff were friendly and helpful, food was of good quality and we weren't waiting long, even though the place was busy for the whole time we were there. This will definitely be a pub we return to....

Been twice for lunch in the past five weeks. Always good value, with good food and an attentive staff. Usually busy but food was well prepared and tasty...........and the beer is always good!

Genuine good pub food, with that little extra. One of the few independent inns, well run, friendly, nice outdoor seating for warm days, and a generally good atmosphere

Waited about 40 mins for a starter, then had to ask twice for the mains, got served about an hour and a half after ordering. Staff not very accommodating, just got very touchy, which isn't something I'd expect from a brand name of Greene King. I'd say the majority of us were happy with the food but some items not available and some served without sauces and accompaniments. Seafood 'platter' misleading - says on the menu 'calamari strips' (plural) yet only one mediocre strip is on the plate. Asked waiter and they said you only get one. I think you should change the menu to avoid disappointment. Had to ask for dessert menus as crockery not taken away from tables even after 30 mins of finishing. No check backs to see if everything was OK. All in all quite disappointing.It's a cosy little place but it's missing the warm and friendly welcome that a village pub should offer. Won't return in a hurry.

Pre booked a table for 11 for 1:30pm yes they were busy but it was Saturday lunch, no belly pork, no salmon, no garlic bread.Main course Scampi arrived without the Tartar sauce Lamb chops arrived with the mint sauce.......coffee took 45 minutes, left the Pub just after 4:30pmDon't waste your time and money.....

We have eaten here quite a few times and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food and the portion size.. The staff are very polite and most helpful..it's a comfortable pub and very friendly...

Fair to say meal was mediocre at best, meals weren't very hot and my mother-in-law said her meat (lamb) was tough. The service was terrible, had to wait ages for table to be cleared after main course so we could order dessert, some of which were sold out. Mother-in-law very disappointed, won't be in a rush to go back.

We struggle asba family to eat out due to having a 8 year old with ASD. But we found this out of the way pub is not to busy and packed in like sardines when sat at tables. The staff are friendly and cooked food not on the menu for our son. There is a lovely park at the back and plenty of grass for children to play and all gated in and safe.

I was very surprised to find that the Nags Head at Woodborough had some very poor reviews as we have found it very good on the whole, It was when I read the poor reviews that it became clear, you had mixed up the Nags Head with Woodborough Hall which is a completely different place, If people did not know the difference if would have done The Nags Head no favours and they would have missed out on a very good meal and service and a very reasonable price.

Great English pub with lovely food. Just what you need, reliable and friendly. The staff are so nice and really go the extra mile to help you.

Despite living just a couple of miles away from here for the last four years, we went here with friends for Sunday lunch a coupleb of weeks ago. Friends and neighbours had told us the portions were quite big but, hey, how big can they be right?Well, we made the mistake of having a starter consequently we couldn't finish the main course!It was delicious! 2 lovely thick slices of beef cooked to perfection, home made Yorkshire pudding and all the usual accompaniments, perfectly kept ale and attentive staff. I fear for my waistline as this is obviously going to become a regular haunt.Try it, you won't be disappointed but be advised, if you're going for Sunday lunch make sure you book!

On 6/8/16 we had our wedding reception at the nags head. It was such a lovely venue for the reception with such a large space outside for photos and even fireworks! The food was really good and when planning the wedding with the pub landlord we were given so much choice of what we could have which was great. The staff were so professional and attentive to our guests. The decoration that the landlords wife did for us was amazing, the place was transformed and all of our guests commented on the decorations. The amount of work that was put in and attention to detail was great. It is such a lovely pub with wonderful staff and they created a perfect venue for our wedding reception, thank you :)

4 of us had a good night here. Managed to book a table in the bar which had lots of atmosphere. Beware portions are quite big. Gammon steak (hot) was the best I have had for some years.Will return.

Four of us went to the Nags for a recent Sunday Lunch. We found the food hot, tasty and well cooked. They also do smaller portions which are ideal for the smaller appetite. There is a good selection of starters and puddings, with something to please most people. The staff are pleasant and service was good. My only criticism would be that the choice of veg with our meal was a bit uninspiring for me personally; peas carrots and white cabbage, it did remind me a little of a school dinner. But that hasn't stopped me from giving it 5 stars. A reliable place to take family, to enjoy a good meal in pleasant surroundings.

Poor service, argument behind the counter when ordering, food cold and meat not up to much, long wait for pudding which was the best part - had to remind them we were still waiting. Such a shame as we have spent many christmas meals here and had many lunchtime meals, but it was dreadful today.

Absolutely love this little pub in the quiet village of Woodborough. Staff are always nice and friendly and food is always served quickly and is always of a high standard. Good for lunch or dinner, highly recommend to anybody! :)

Our first visit to this very popular restaurant, and we were impressed by the food on offer. One of our party had a small Sunday roast turkey - which was a goodly portion; one had pork chop with cheese and apple sauce and one had the Butternut Squash risotto. All were declared tasty and satisfying. A good selection of naturally Gluten and Dairy free main courses and a small choice of Gluten free sweets, but no Dairy free option. Disabled ♿ parking, some wheelchair ♿ friendly tables and good sized clean disabled ♿ loo that is kept locked with key behind the bar. WiFi available. Worth a weekday visit to sample more of the dishes on offer.

This has been the pub of choice for lunches with my parents for a number of years now. Always wonderful, friendly and efficient service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Menu is fairly standard pub fare but with plenty of choice and is consistently and reliably good.

Recently had a meal since new management take over and I was very impressed! Wonderfull menu. I had the white bait for my starter and the Nags head special burger which was delicious. I will be visiting again.

Plenty of menu options available, light bite menu and choice of sizes for the roast dinner. I find the smaller portions are plenty big enough. Food is always good quality and good value. Service is friendly and speedy. Seating available outside with children's play park. Lounge side of pub very homely and comfortable, stylishly decorated.Quiz nights good fun..Always feel welcome. Fab village pub.

Had a lovely meal , excellent service quick service and reasonable prices . Nice little swing and slide in tho garden for young children.

Take people here often. Good food. Good value. Efficient service. Nice atmosphere. They also organise social and fund raising events. Good for people eating solo. Advisable to book in advance.

We are on holiday from Spain and been to this delightfull pub every night. The service off the staff are a credit to the landlord Clive. The locals were very friendly and helpfull and the food is out off this world the "Time to Dine" is great value for money.There is more bars in the village but have never meet genuine hospitality from everyone in the Nags Head. Keep up the good work and see you soon for more fun.

The menu is extensive and there should be something on there for any taste, but quality was just average, basic pub food. OK if you are passing but you wouldn't make a special trip here. It's missing something , like atmosphere or a style.

Eight adults and two children went here on a Sunday afternoon. Food was very good, between us we had 7 different mains, food was hot and enjoyed by all, certainly would eat there again.Service could have been better, it took longer then expected to order the food from the bar and the food also took longer to arrive from the kitchen, I know food has to be prepared and then cooked but we waited over 45mins before any food arrived.Maybe they had staff problems that day

Often pop into this pub for a meal always delighted with the meal ,the service &the atmosphere .very friendly ,helpful staff .

We visited yesterday for a birthday celebration and was not disappointed. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were looked after very well by the staff who were very attentive during our visit without being intrusive. We all had different meals and all were well cooked and very nicely presented.

The Nags Head in Woodborough is on Main Street not Bank Hill!This is a very good pub and family restaurant. A good menu with something for everyone. We were a party of 7 - the food came within 20 mins. It all came out together and it was hot. Very good portions so come hungry! I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 because our plates were not cleared away when we had finished. Perhaps if we had gone back to the bar to order desserts then that would have happened.Nevertheless, a very enjoyable evening.

Remember to order your food at the bar once seated.The menu has an interesting quirk that the earlier you book off the small menu then the cheaper the meal, conversely the price goes up as the evening progresses !I can recommend the fish and chips off the main menu, it is a very large meal with TWO large pieces of fish, you have been warned.Friendly and efficient service, did get a little noisy as the restaurant/bar filled up as the evening progressed - the price of success?

Good food and good selection served all day at reasonable prices they also do a light bites menu for those with smaller appetites and food is well cooked and presented.Can get busy, especially Sunday lunch so if you want to go you can book a table.Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff.No complaints and have now eaten here a number of times when visiting family in the area.

Decided to go to the nags head for a meal and glad we did. Great meal friendly staff makes the experience of dinning there great we will definitely be revisiting again. Nice to have a good friendly staff and good food in the village competion is a no brainer with a certain other pub in the village

Great pub with great food. We usually pick from the lite bite menu as portions are of a good size and plenty for us. Never had a bad meal there hence our frequent visits. Live music monthly. Going to try the tapas next. Steak and ale pie is a favourite, but have tried most things on menu and all are tasty. Staff very friendly and relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Have recommended to friends and family.

Good quality no nonsense pub fare, good value for money, and a good choice of beers too. The mini mixed grill is highly recommended .

Brilliant meal, best steak I have eaten in a long time. All the meals were well cooked and arrived quickly in spite of them being busy.These pictures are not of the Nags Head!

Went to the pub last night (pre planned, as attending wedding nearby) and arrived at 8pm. We were informed that the kitchen closes at 8pm (9pm on fri & sat), but there was a quick chat with the chef and if we could order something reasonbly easy from the menu he would sort it for us. One steak, lasagne, scampi and penne pasta later we were very very happy. The food tasted great, portions were very sufficient and we managed to squeeze in some very nice desserts as well. The staff kept checking to make sure we are happy and everybody was really nice (as in genuine), which made us feel very welcomed. And with meals very reasonbly price we went away very happy (our party of 4 included one of the brides to be).A pity we don't live closer by.

I've just taken a party of twenty wi ladies here for lunch we all thoroughly enjoyed it they all came hot and very fast and all together, we all ate off the lite bite menu to make it easier to pre-order and they were all more than ample and nice puddings too, both for £9.50 excellent value the lasagne was very nice the chips were great and the ladies fish next to me looked good, everyone enjoyed it, nice decor, good waiting staff a good old fashioned village pub, a great lunch thank you.

My wife and I took a couple of friends here for dinner. There was plenty of choice from the menu and what we selected was excellently presented. The staff were friendly and professional, and the service attentive without being intrusive. Two of us were vegetarian and were happy with their meals, and my steak was excellent ( I chose to have two fried eggs with my steak for £1.50 rather than a sauce which cost a bit more). They sell alcohol-free Beck's Blue, which is handy if you are driving, and the meals are at an equitable price. By chance three of us had mobility problems, one with MS, one with bad knees and another with sciatica, so we used the ramp entrance to get in the place. Note to building manager. When you rework the access next time use ridged tiles, they are a lot safer in the wet.

Got a really good deal for Christmas 5 course meal. The staff are friendly and the manager completely bonkers like us.The choice of food was vast, it was delicious and served very hot and very quickly. One little criticism is that there were no check-backs so when we had problems or needed anything, we had to search for the staff.The room we were in was decorated beautifully and atmosphere was very nice.

The pub is most welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent for pub grub with great choices on menu. The night we visited they had just finished decorating for Christmas and it looked lovely..The service was great and staff very attentive. We have eaten here many times over the years bringing grandchildren who always made a dash for play area in the summer. You can sit outside and eat in the garden area which is ideal for children....

Visited for a Christmas function. Drive way disappointed so many ruts easy to damage car.The service was dreadful. Ordered wine pre dinner had to go looking for wine waiter for wine after we started the meal. Soup served again had to go and ask for a spoon. Main course served I was served and then had to wait 8 minutes before rest of table was served. Practically ate meal before vegetables were served. All meals served on cold plates. No serving spoons. Could go on. The management need to sort out their service. No continuity of serving the food. Certainly would not recommend.
