Absolutely fabulous find - purely by chance driving past Very clean and simple - food first class Served by the ladies who were totally on top of their game Had coffees, panini and coffees followed by bakes Highly recommended. Parking at the door for those that need it Great to see small place so busy

Food absolutely delicious and very attentive service even though it was so busy. A fabulous choice on the menu but SO many specials to choose from too! And cleaning was thorough in between each seating. Kudos to the chefs - the beef with whisky and haggis pate was delicious as was the monkfish - and to every member of staff we encountered who were so pleasant and made the evening really enjoyable.

Visited here for the first time, won't be the last! Lovely friendly welcome from the ladies, showing us all the lovely homemade cakes and scones. Also told us that they make pancakes to order, couldn't resist and wasn't disappointed! Lovely place and lovely waitresses! Will definitely be back!

Had a late lunch here with my wife. She had soup and a sandwich. Broccoli/Stilton and egg mayonnaise. Both were fresh and delicious. I had a toasted sandwich and asked for bacon & brie which wasn’t a combination on the menu but they obliged no problem. It is served with a small optional salad. The salad was slightly odd as it contained the usual salad veg but also included kiwi, pineapple, apple and grapes. Odd, but it worked well and the coleslaw was great. The home bakes looked mouth watering. We both had carrot cake. It was moist and perfectly spiced. The service was swift and friendly. This is a lovely place to have a light lunch or a news and a coffee. We will certainly be back.

A surprising and great find place alongside the local church in New Deer. The cafe is run on behalf of the church and is staffed by local ladies who provide a very warm and helpful welcome and provide homemade delicious food. We had lovely homemade cock-a-leekie soup(made in the traditional way with prunes) and a large hunk of very fresh bread along with a fruity scone and a pancake in the best Scottish tradition. I wish we lived nearer. The only drawback is that it is a bit out of the way but if you happen to be in the area, it is well worth seeking out for a light lunch.

Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven. Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! 😬 Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.

We visited this Cafe after a long walk in the forest. Dogs are welcome inside the cafe. Inside there is a log burning stove, which was very welcome, the cafe had a nice rustic feel they do there own baking and my wife described the scone as the best she had. The coffee was lovely. We had visited the Cafe at the Cheese makers across the road which was very nice but had to sit outside with the dog. We will certainly be back here, probably for a lunch next time.

Visited here for Sunday "carvery" whilst staying onsite. Service was excellent by all staff members, however we were expecting a carvery where you help yourself to a selection of roast meats and veg. This wasn't the case it was just a regular Sunday roast prepared in the kitchen and served at your table. The roast itself was very average, the only veg being peas and carrots along with cheap tasting pigs in blankets. This was priced at around £21 pp for 2 courses,I think it was done as cheap as possible. Although the food tasted absolutely fine it was by no means anything other than average and definitely not a carvery.
