The Mulberry in Waverley

Came here last night with some friends, we are not from the area so this was the first time for us. I can see how parking can be a little tricky, as there is no car park ,but luckily we found a street space directly outside. The pub is split into a series of rooms, we found a nice fireside table but could have sat in the bar area which had a DJ. Had a couple of TVs dotted about with the darts on, so obviously a decent place to come and watch sport. Service was friendly and welcoming, the pub wasnt too busy either so no issues with serving wait times for food and drink. Menu is fairly limited in that it is mainly burgers, pizza, and chicken wings, but within those categories there is plenty of choice! Most of us had burgers, I had one that had two patties, onions, bacon, cheese, and even peanut butter in it! Sounds a bit grim but it really worked!!! Delicious burgers, and really nice side fries too. Quite expensive for the size, but really tasty and I would definitely come back here again and again. They even do a 32oz burger 'Man vs Mulberry' challenge (£45, as advertised in the Gents!), and that is tempting....

We had a meeting on a Thursday evening and chose The Mulberry due to being next to the station and having free on-street parking opposite and the streets around it. Atmosphere was good, seemed like a popular pub with a mix of young and mature clientele. We had burgers and pizza which went down well, cooked well and decent portions. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Staff were friendly. They’ve got a Pool room hidden away upstairs which we made the most of and ended up spending longer there than intended!

I didn't pick up that there was no parking available - there is a car park they just don't offer it to customers! It's also in a really difficult location - right on the traffic lights next to the railways station and a railway crossing - so traffic around there is really bad during the day. I tried calling them to ask for guidance on where to park - I waited ages and then a recorded message to say they were busy and unable to come to the phone. When I went in there were no other customers. The pub looks quite shabby - nothing like the photos. The food was very disappointing - although I can see other guests have had good food. The service was very average - slow, and several times the chap disappeared so we had to wait around for him. It isn't at all what I was expecting and I was embarrassed to have suggested it to someone as somewhere for us to meet - I don't know him that well, and I didn't feel it reflected particularly well on me.

I would like to thank Callum and his team for a very enjoyable experience There had been a mix up when booking on line and when I visited to pre-order the lunches, I was informed that the pub was closed. However as the on-line system had accepted my reservation, they honoured the booking and opened for us. The food was great , the serve brilliant and the atmosphere perfect. thank you guys, will, be visiting again. Dana

A couple of Sundays ago I went to the mulberry for the first time and had an amazing time. It was my friends suggestion to drink/eat there so I wasn’t sure on what to order. The curly haired dude behind the bar was very knowledgeable and happy to suggest drinks options. This made me feel very welcome. The waitress even brought over a bowl of water for my dogs before I asked. 10/10, will be recommending to everyone

The atmosphere is great at The Mulberry. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and the pub offers a large variety of drinks. Featuring a fantastic outdoor garden area with plenty of seating and large TV screens, The Mulberry is also a great place to watch your favourite sports. Excellent pub, would highly recommend to others.

Great spot for some food and drinks, the outside area at night is beautifully lit up and has a lovely classy feel to the place. Very well established pub which even rivals some restaurants in terms of food quality. Friendly staff and welcoming environment, will be returning again soon with the family, or with more friends!

Terrible place, based on the food and one member of staff. Can’t work out when food is charred and burnt, only to return the same inedible food. Third time of asking managed to cook the chips (yes chips), without burning them, but placed them on a seat.. really, rudeness at is highest level, degrading for your establishment. . Unbelievable drama over chips. No taking responsibility for their poor food, then lying to us. Shame on you

I booked a table for six adults for lunch as the details said parking available. We were arriving from different directions and required parking for two cars. On arrival the car parking area was blocked by a delivery van. My husband went inside to ask how long the van would be there , and was told - we don’t open our car park to customers, only businesses!!! Enough said, their attitude lost them over £150, we then went to The Shepherd and his Flock about half a mile away, plenty of parking and a great lunch.

Great bar! Staff are amazing, very friendly and full of fun. We travelled from Scotland to meet with friends and have a bite to eat. We sat in the garden area which was fantastic and a great size and various coloured lighting which just creates a perfect ambience fora night in the beer garden. The and staff were very attentive. Fantastic menu with loads of creative options and very knowlegable on Gluten Free. There is loads of areas in doors to sit, aswell as a games room up the stair with Darts, Pool and Football Table. We had such a good day we went back the next day and we will certainly be back in the future.

Such a perfect pub, food was very nice m, staff very friendly and helpful. Beer garden is huge and has entertainment also. If outside is not for you then plenty of screens and an upstairs area for pool and darts.

Excellent service from Tabitha every time we visit, she is very attentive and cheerful! After a slightly uncomfortable incident she made sure to come over and check on us and that made our evening.

I have to say I have never had better service than when I walked in this lovely pub. Myself and my partner were looking for someone to have a last minute date night and this was recommended to us due to a member of the team and his excellent service and friendly approach. So with that in mind we decided to give the pub ago and I would happily go again. The gentleman who served us was a very polite and funny named Callum . He made sure we have a fantastic time and kept checking in us through out our time here. The drinks were fantastic and the food was lovely we both had the pizza and have never tried anything so tasty. Would definitely recommend anyone who has not been to The Mulberry to go there for a fantastic night out.

Wow, we visited this pub in the summer and I was impressed with the service then, we called in for a quick drink and was greated by Callum who remembered us from before, he showed us to our table and was very welcoming. Definitely recommend popping in this pub

My wife and I ventured into Farnham for the night. We got off the train and went straight into the mulberry. The plan was to have one and make our way through some of the other pubs in the town, however we were greeted by a turtle neck wearing, excellently humoured young man who had us in stitches from the moment go. He recommended us beers, wines and even other pubs to go to but his customer service kept us from going any further. He made a point to come and join us at the table for a few jokes and conversation whenever he had a spare moment and just made the whole night a good laugh. We will most certainly be returning, hopefully the chap will be working and we can buy him a beer. The tribute was good too, very nice tasting beer. Went to the mulberry to get some food and have a few drinks with some friends. The chicken wings with peri sauce are unbelievable - they are the best chicken wings around for sure. There’s a nice selection of drinks at the bar and lots of TVs to watch sport on as well.

The Mulberry is lucky to have two incredible members of staff - Lily who is frankly the most amazing waitress ever, and Kobi, a talented and hardworking chef. Lily was professional, friendly, knowledge about the menu and kind. She clearly knows how much good service matters and is appreciated yet still makes time to check in and ensure everything is nothing short of perfect. She is a real credit to The Mulberry. The food was delicious and Kobi the chef deserves congratulations for his work. A great place, nice atmosphere, good food and made better by Lily who is the best waitress I have had the pleasure of being looked after by this year.

I just wanted to say what an amazing time we had at The Mulberry last Saturday night. Everyone was in good spirits after the fireworks, the staff were all really smiley and helpful and the atmosphere was a delight. I would like to particularly thank server Jeff for his kindness that evening. Firstly dealing with a broken glass outside with calmness and immediacy and finally the large smile he gave to us as we left the venue. Brilliant pub and definitely one of our favourites, thank you!

Once again I found myself in Farnham and based on past experience I had to go back to the Mulberry for their delicious pizzas. The Carne was great and so was the Camden Pale Ale along with the Hogs Back Surrey Nirvana Session IPA. The staff were great, especially Laura, James and Callum, they were very friendly and helpful.

There's always a great atmosphere here, with welcoming staff; Callum, in particular, is very friendly yet professional. There's plenty of outside space, ideal for families and dogs, while the interior is really cosy.

Came in for a drink after work and immediately felt so welcome by the bar staff. In particular the bar manager Callum kept me company which after the day I had, was very needed! Will be back soon.

We hosted a party here for around 40 guests the day after our wedding last week and had the most fabulous time. The guy on duty in the day, Callum, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. He couldn’t do enough for us and everything from the food to the many (many) drinks and the band in the evening was absolutely brilliant. We will definitely be back! Thank you!

I come here on my own not long ago and had a beer and a burger, the beer was decent, I had an Amstel and Moretti they were nothing to rave about but by no means a bad beer at all, the beef burger I had was nice and definitely worth the money

A special thank you to Tabatha for your service upon entry, to the managing staff keeping an eye on us through the evening, to Callum behind the bar keeping our drinks topped up, and of course Chef Alex for cooking the epic hog roast. Burger was cold and undercooked. Staff act more like bratty school boys than professionals. Would get better service at a Petrol Station. I would give 0 stars if I could.

The chip portion size is disgusting. £3.50 for a small mug of skinny fries. I would expect it to at least take away my hunger for that price and it barely even touched the sides. If it could change that I would be happy.

I visited here for a casual evening with friends and can I just say I was not disappointed. Jeff is the absolute hidden gem of Farnham. He went above and beyond. The mulberry should be very proud to have such a worker as Jeff. We all need a bit of Jeff in our lives. Jeff I salute you.

Watched the second England game here, a win, and ate again and wow the burgers are unreal. Having been to the US I can see where the inspiration comes from. Service great, beer selection unrivalled in this small town. We will be back. Well done Mulberry

My partner and I both had a burger and it was honestly the best burger we’ve had in a long time at a pub, will definitely be back!

We had an amazing evening for my Birthday last night. Huge thanks to Mimmo who is clearly at the very top of his game. The service we received was exceptional. A really special place and a great Birthday meal. Thanks again, we had a brilliant evening.

Visited for a lunch recently, the burgers looked lovely but wanted a light lunch so went for nachos and salad. Beautiful building but bring your torches, it’s so dark you can hardly see, unfortunately the table was sticky and when we dropped something on the floor you dare to look down as it was filthy! There was no toilet seat in the women’s toilet and the sanitary bin was over flowing. When we ordered drinks they came in a can and had to ask for a glass, not why you’d expect in a restaurant. A disappointing experience, not what we expected.

Second time visiting this pub and won't be visiting again. Reduced menu was literally reduced To two choices, burgers or nachos despite another person having a salad on their table. Tried to order one ice cream but was told the chef had gone home.

One of the best boozers in surrey . Cracking vibe . Cracking beer . Owners a good laugh , when i came in he greeted me in these wonderful pink backless loafers ! Had to order via an app and pay upfront for drinks, no one at our table received drinks at all. Management didn't care, no apology, no attempt to communicate or help. The entire staff just moped around. There was a long line to complain so couldn't even get a refund. The live music wasn't even loud, there was no point even being there. Worst night ever.

How can you get it so wrong? This place is an absolute joke. First weekend after lockdown. After 3 months of waiting for that first cold pint in a pub. I placed my order on the app. 2 and a half hours later and still nothing. 2 and a half hours sat at a pub table without a single drink or even acknowledgement from staff. I complained several times and was told my drinks were on the way shortly. But they never came. The staff looked as confused as I was. This is clearly poor management and incompetence from the landlord so I don't blame the staff. I feel sorry for them though. I ended up paying for a round of 8 drinks. Without receiving a single one. I went to demand a refund but there was a que of people waiting for the exact same reason. At this point I couldn't wait any longer and left. Disappointed, sober and down £50.

Excellent food and delivery during lockdown. Safe deliveries and good food. Burgers are the best. Prompt deliveries too.

Went to order a burger as usual which are 1st class, but changed my mind and ordered a Pizza, a Carne Pizza to be exact, wow so glad I did this Pizza was one of the best I’ve ever tasted and certainly had a kick to it, easily the best Pizza in Farnham

We came here as a group of five on Halloween night. Why we bothered to stick to the rules I don’t know, there was several tables of 10+ people. It was completely rammed with no social distancing and the smoking area was packed. Our drinks took nearly 2 hours to arrive, when i went to the bar (with my mask on) to ask where they were the doorman blocked my way and shouted at me to sit down. I was only asking how long the drinks would take! I get that we are in a pandemic and everyone is in challenging times but it was just poor service and maybe adhering to government guidelines would have meant the bar wasn’t so busy. Had we known how long our order would have taken we’d have just gone a refund and gone elsewhere, it really poorly managed and the bar staff were so rude when I simply asked where our drinks were. When the drinks eventually arrived (One by one) 3 drinks were wrong and no apology from the waiter who just shrugged at us. It’s a real shame as I usually love coming here but completely put off by this experience

My friends and I had booked a table for Halloween night several days in advance. We joined the queue to get in and waited for over 30 minutes only to be told they were full and we couldn’t come in. Other people we spoke to in the queue who had booked were also turned away.

Even with the current restrictions surrounding pubs right now the Mulberry seems to be a lively place to be. We came down on a Sunday night and enjoyed some great local live music whilst feasting on a delicious roast. Place was busy and the staff were friendly. We’ll definitely be back whilst we’re in the area

Total cockup from start to finishPhoned x3 to book as the ‘diary was missing’ and our reservation was still lost. Server unable to help us when eat-out-to-dine-out code failed, unable to contact the manager, so refused to honour the deal. We left unfed and unhappy - so much for a much-anticipated first family outing since lockdown.Left a request for the manager to ring me- still waiting after several days. AWFUL EXPERIENCE

Booked a table for a drink with work colleagues. Staff were very disorganised and got every order wrong, and made us feel like it was our fault. They were consistently rude and one man in particular was almost aggressive. AVOID!

Food tasted good and table staff were helpful. Unfortunately order was messed in the kitchen up and a couple of bits we ordered didn’t show up. These things happen. It was nearly 10pm so asked for a drink to the same value of the stuff that was missing. Manager had his calculator out working out the exact penny and said it wasn’t possible. I reminded him it was their error to which he told me to F off and drink up! I’d recommend some basic customer service training is needed for him or for one of the table staff to take on his position as they were a lot more grounded.

We booked a table for the first day back in the pubs after lockdown I must say this place was very well managed and the staff are brilliant and the atmosphere is good. The online ordering works really well, the table service was prompt and well-managed. We go to The Mulberry alot....for a drink, some food, some football. Never had an issue so I keep going back. Keep up the good work guys.

The website ordering system is a good idea but poorly executed. The last people to order in our group received food in 20 minutes (thats great), everyone else in our group didn't get food for an hour and half which is just bad I'm afraid. Burgers were pretty good but not worth the service.

Went here for takeaway burgers as we know they are good. Wow got home and how amazing they were. Top quality and up there with the best. The staff are safe and always so helpful. Perfect food from a perfect Pub.
