Played a gig there last night. Had to drag my kids and partner along but Justin looked after us all so well and sorted amazing accommodation out for us. Had a great big fryup in the morning to set us up for our journey home. First time in Whitby but definitely not our last!

Here for WGW. Robbed Zombie headlined and rocked the place out. Staff were polite and bar service was great.

Excellent venue for a 70th Birthday Party

Nice staff and the singers on Friday were excellent. Good for the rugby as well.

Hired venue. Reasonable rates. Helpful staff.

We called in on the off chance and what a night we had. We where entertained by a couple called Wet & Wild who appeared on The Voice, a young chap called Jamie Le and then Dean Michael (Black Lace). The place was full of locals who made us feel so welcome along with the staff. We then went back in the morning for a great full English breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place if you are in Whitby or near by.

An unexpected weekend for us as all our plans were cancelled due to the weather. We came across this bar called in for one and liked the friendly atmosphere and they have live acts on as well as events in the ballroom We went back for the evening entertainment which was good and then for breakfast the following morning Good value for money and we had a great time here Looking forward to the 80s night in November 23

Not enough people in the ballroom for staff behind the bar , had to walk round the bar into the pub area to get a drink 🍻

Staff was spot on very friendly, Jackson was making sure place was clean and tidy and had time to chat with customers .credit to the bar staff . If you are willing to walk up the hill onto west cliff worth calling in for a drink

We popped in for a big breakfast expecting to be disappointed as is so often the case with big breakfasts. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was really good.

Justin and Craig are superb hosts and make everybody welcome I've been with Tim Healy and Bruce Jones both receptions were 5*

Awesome venue and bar, great live music and entertainment most weekends, fabulous atmosphere, room to dance if you want to. Justin the owner and all his staff are wonderful, one of the best bars/ venues in Whitby.

If you want fun, this is the place. Everybody in this place are there to have a good time, from the staff to the regulars and the amazing fun acts performing there. Famous for the Benidorm vibe style. A place to definitely go in Whitby.

The Met bar is great. Located at the top end of Westcliff with amazing sea views the drink prices are reasonable and the food is great value for money. The staff are really friendly and you can bring your dog. Evening entertainment at weekends and sports on the BIG screens during the day.

Worst pub experience of my life!! I visited The Met lounge on Saturday evening to watch the tribute act with 5 other friends. The act (or what I saw of it was amazing) the customers/locals where about as friendly as a bunch of black mamba snakes! In fact it was like snake pit! Full of hissing people that clearly didn’t like anyone else visiting their swamp! (A nicely decorated swamp might I add) We arrived to a busy venue with hardly any seats spare, but being excited to see the act we all got a drink and found pockets of space we could stand! My friends spotted a table and chairs free so went over to take a seat, but they where soon moved on by snake number one who wasn’t happy that they couldn’t see the full stage view! (Might I add the act was on a break at this point) My other friends a few minutes later then moved said table out of the way to the side of the room and sat down! Only to be moved again by another snake quite rudely pushing the chair further back than it was able to go!! At this point another friend who had stood near the bar at the same time was physically man handled to move by another person! Might I add that at this point the act was back on and the dance floor was full and the dancers where in fact blocking the view yet no one challenged this! So I walked out and left feeling appalled, my friends followed and we left. So unless you can arrive before the snakes and grab yourself a chair/sofa I would avoid avoid avoid! Worst pub experience of my life with the most unfriendliest people that strangely happened to all be under one roof. Perhaps busy nights should be ticketed/limited numbers to prevent future customers having the same experience?

It was ok, only went in at lunchtime, understand that it livens up in the evening. Beer was good and service was also good.

These picture do not do the beautiful Ballroom justice. But this was my gig there at christmas. Great room to book for parties throughout the year. It has its own Lounge which has several screen to watch sport. And fabulous entertainment in both Lounge and Ballroom. Great staff. Justin has worked and still works incredibly hard.

Went to a wedding , gorgeous setting and fabulous decorated, food was excellent, all in all a brilliant place

Great place to let your hair down

It's a good sized space, but has a lot of wear & tear in places, especially the entrance doorway. Prices are reasonable. Evening events are best as there are plenty of atmospheric lighting hiding the sad bits. They now have some sound dampeners suspended from the ceiling. Still a good sized place & produced an adequate Funeral Tea, plenty to go round.

Completely unexpected and came across this by chance. Good wee night and friendly people.

Seems to have gone up market by doing wedding receptions in the old ball room. Very nice they seem to be. Well done.

Just back home from Whitby this place is a must visit very welcoming. Landlord is a bundle of Fun had a great night at the Benidorm night on Saturday definitely be going back when in whiby again thanks for a fabulous night.

Bar specific: Warm and friendly people but please take all the ugly off putting leaflets and posters off the walls ! Not sure who decided the paint colour purple /brown but again could do with a more in trend green or blue with lighter wood work. Plus give it a good clean ! Potential not “met” which is a shame considering all the potential customers they could have.

Absolutely fantastic venue, the best New Year's Eve party I have been to. So much effort and attention to detail. Fantastic acts, superb food.

Me and friends went to the met lounge and ballroom for the Whitby krampus run and it was amazing, we've been going there for other events and it's always great to visit, the acoustics are great for live music and I would recommend it every time when visiting Whitby

We used the ballroom yesterday snd it's a great space. Pity it's a bit shabby on the outside

Went into the pub side of the building. Staff were nice but everything else was a bit meh. Very much a local mans pub, with very loud individuals the day we were there. Didnt go in again.

Not enjoyable at all we were sat down just ordered our drinks then as soon as they came this big fat guy in a blue top came and shouted in my face he spat and had bad breath and kicked us out when we asked for a refund for drinks he threatened me and raised his hand ( I thought to hit me) and he said racist slurs to my friend

Loved it so nostalgic went to see the Cureheads here a Cure tribute band they were brillant and the ballroom was fab loved the fairy lights all over the walls felt like i was back in the 80s

Decent place to drink, sport in the many big screens. Seems popular with tourists and locals alike.

Cheap beer and friendly staff. Could be a good venue for a cheap party. The ballroom is quite good.

Went for works Christmas party it was up there as one of the worst I have ever been too.the buffet style food was dreadful had better at a children's party,the music was head banging and so loud you couldn't talk to people sat on the same table.i am sorry to say I would never recommend this venue.

Attended a wedding evening doo that had this venue booked. The ball room looks to have had somewhat of a make over with the new management (or at least since the last time I attended) and looks bright and feels fresh. Drinks prices that I had seem in standing with the local area. Dogs are welcome.
