Oh my.. the food was exquisite.. and reasonable prices for the level of quality and expertise on display. The service was exemplary and cannot be faulted. I'm tempted to go back and try the other dishes I had my eye on.. The decor is surprisingly modern and light on the inside. It has been remodelled well, with unisex toilets, though could possibly do with another as there was often a polite queue in the corridor.. Would definitely recommend, and I recommend booking. Our meal was 3 courses, with an aperitif and a bottle of wine.

Four of us went to The Maybush for Sunday lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The starter of Broccoli and Stilton soup, served with fresh bread and butter was very tasty. We all had the roast dinner - 3 beef and one lamb, which was served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and a varied selection of vegetables. Everything was absolutely delicious and the beef was cooked perfectly medium rare. A couple of desserts were shared and both were lovely - apple crumble with ice cream and custard and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Definitely recommend for a visit

The food was good, if a tad pricey for fairly standard fare, and the service was excellent. The only down side was it was quite noisy. The table next to us was very loud, not the fault of the restaurant, but noise did seem to bounce off the walls. Overall a good experience and would not hesitate to return.

What have they done? They’ve only gone and erected a huge carbuncle of a sign by the bridge‘s traffic lights. It totally blocks off the view of this attractive riverside pub when you approach it driving towards Witney. More of concern however is that this new sign also presents a real traffic hazard by its size, screening the stretch of road ahead that leads across the bridge.

What a pub to go - location, relaxed vibes, river views and cold brews to finish it all off. The staff were friendly and the food didn't take long to arrive. We had the Maybush burgers on gluten free buns which were ok, but really lacked enough salad to go with them. We went on Monday afternoon so crowds weren't a problem, but Saturdays and Sundays would be packed here. Loads of parking next to the pub, but I would try to park across the road next time as it would have been way easier to get out of there. If you do park next to the pub and you're trying to leave, don't forget to get out of your car and push the pedestrian button so it triggers the traffic lights to give you the green light! Definitely worthy of a return visit to try something else on their menu.

We have eaten at the Maybush many times, but today’s experience was actually awful. We came to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary as we got married there. We both ordered the pork roast that was advertised to come with crackling, potatoes and vegetables. The meal arrived and as the waitress put it on our table she said “I’m sorry we haven’t got any crackling we ran out yesterday.” My husband said politely “I only ordered it for the crackling” (she just looked at him), he was actually serious, and had we been told it didn’t come with crackling, we would have ordered something else. The vegetables were very hard and I don’t mean al dente, which we love. We could barely cut them with the knife! My husband’s plate arrived cracked, which he mentioned to the waitress, and again she just looked at him! The gravy tasted like cheap Bisto, and the applesauce was definitely not home-made, and tasted like a cheap bought in version. We decided we wouldn’t complain because we don’t generally, but when the waitress asked if everything was ok as we were paying the bill, My husband said well apart from the missing crackling! She said “I did tell you it was missing”, for which I replied, “Yes only when you put the food on our table so it was a bit late by then!” She told us the bill and we said “how about we give you £5 less as we didn’t get what we paid for” (we were paying with cash). She said “Crackling is only about 5 - 10p!” We couldn’t believe it, so we gave her that £5 and there was still 20p owing. My husband said I’m not giving you any more and she still tried to get the 20p out of us and as we were leaving she was mumbling something that we didn’t hear!! All in all, very disappointing food and service.

Maybe we should have moved but children that are not supervised properly will have accidents as one of them did. Parents fault, no control. Another group after being in the water started also screaming and running around. Again the parents at fault. Surely a place to eat and drink is not a children's playground. Food excellent. People will only abuse if nothing is said or done. And yes I did say something. unfortunately fell on Deaf ears. Totally ruined our experience. The Food was plenty and tasty (Sunday Roast Beef) Negatives I spoke to a member of staff to let them know i had booked a tables, she said just finish cleaning it, she never returned 2 different staff members came up and told I them I had booked a table, we were finally shown to our table.. no menu was given, we sat for 15 minutes watching staff standing near the door talking , We was trying to get the attention of one of them, we were then spotted , she came over, only to take the order, I said we haven’t been give. a menu. she quickly came back with menus, she came back after about 10 minutes and took our order. we didn’t wait long for our food. In the time we were eating no one checked to see if our food was ok, or to asked if we wanted another drink, I then got up to go to the bar I was then told they would serve us at the table. If the service has been better i would have given them a £10 tip as per normal for when i’m dining out. My colleagues and I recently visited the Maybush for a celebratory lunch. We booked a table, for 7 people, at 1:15pm and arrived slightly early. We were seated straight away, and the waitress was quick to take our drinks order. We then ordered our food fairly quickly too, which was great. However, it all went downhill slightly from there. We waited for our food to arrive for an hour and 20 minutes, and in that time, nobody came to ask if we wanted more drinks. When we asked the waitress how long the food would be (after already having been waiting 45 minutes), she said it would be soon. Another waitress (possibly the head waitress) then told us that it would be a bit longer. When one of our party politely pointed out that we’d been waiting quite a while already, she got quite defensive and said “Sorry, but we have a party of 25 before you. You’ll be next after that.” Her manner wasn’t the friendliest, and not what I’d expect when paying for a meal - especially when the prices are quite high. When the food finally did arrive, it was so late that one of my colleagues had had to leave before even eating anything. To top it all off, I then found a small hair in my food. To their credit, they did give us a discount on our bill, but we left feeling as though we were just an inconvenience rather than valued customers. It’s unlikely we’ll return.

We came here for food with a pretty big order. There were certain orders missed, people were waiting for ages, even though we had pre-ordered. When enquired about ordering the ones they’ve missed out, they said they can’t make that. I’m wondering how are they going to accommodate for walk ins? I did not appreciate the very non hospitable behaviour for a hospitality business. Can very confidently say, they have guaranteed a non - returning customer.
