Went for birthday lunch will go back again

Ordered a takeaway for 5 people. The Thai beef was good, as was the Duck (good portion). Crispy beef was OK, but the chicken with cashew nuts was disappointing and a bit tasteless. Rice, Noodles, and chips were good.

My favourite restaurant in Aberdeen. The food is of great quality and the waiting staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I love this place as it provides not only good service but also the food surpasses its good quality each time I've been there.

Im a regular customer but they have really went downhill the service right now is terrible,we were stuck in a corner and forgotten about,Did not have what we ordered no duck or prawn crackers, and waited ages for food.Got main courses but no rice had to ask for it or i doubt we would have got it. Finished with this place will not be going back

Arguably the finest Authentic Chinese in Scotland I have been going here every fortnight for the past 3 years and absolutely love it. The food is truly authentic full of flavour and freshly cooked every time You can choose from the Chinese Menu or an alternative European style Chinese but Id not bother with the latter EVERYTHING from the fish meals to TOFU is perfect. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Service is first class BUT Get there early its always busy at lunchtimes and dont be surprised if your the only European group there. The local Chinese community are always the majority - which says EVERYTHING about the authenticity.

Staff were very fast to clear table even when MIL was still eating , sge got last bit in mouth and then were away with her plate . A few moments would have be fine but felt rushed . Shame as I heard good things about here and it was my first visit .

Come around once a week and without a doubt the best Chinese in Aberdeen if not Scotland

Great food that arrived fast, good service & nice table arrangements which are spread out nicely (to avoid cramping/cramming in customers). ps. Dim sum was brilliant.

Quality has declined under new owner and the prices have nearly doubled. Customer service with new owners much worse. A real shame as used to be great

We went there with lots of expectations but were very disappointed with the service. We were eating and it was around 2:30pm. Though the restaurant keeps open until 3pm, they started sweeping 🧹 floor next to us. And then the heavy sound of hoover came on. They were literally hoovering next to us while we were eating. The food was average but the service was awful.

Was here for my Birthday meal. The meal was good, plenty to eat. Staff friendly, though it was busy.

When a wasp is reported to be in the food, you should not accuse someone of lying and completely refuse to communicate normally. Never seen customer service this hostile. Refund eventually clawed back after walking back and returning the food.

Great Chinese food. As close as you'll come to "real" Chinese food as shown by the vast numbers of the Chinese community who eat there. Great service.

Great Chinese restaurant been meaning to go for a while but glad finally went inside and tried it next time will try dim sum and puddings but went for traditional meals we enjoyed can't fault it the portion size in enormous and the fresh quality and taste was delicious will definitely be returning again

Interior decor very basic for a Chinese restaurant, like siting at your grans kitchen table. The dishes we had were very tasty but the kun po chicken still had the skin on some piece also more batter than chicken on them all. The sweet and sour pork was mainly half fat hidden by the batter. After hearing rave reviews would not go back and eat here again.

Food was OK, nothing amazing though. Service was very, very slow and not very attentive. We waited half an hour for drinks and an hour and a half for our main course. Our table was booked for 5pm so not the busiest time of the evening. Priority was evidently being given to takeaway customers and 'regulars'. Prior to lockdown this place was awesome. We understand that ownership has changed since lockdown. Sorry to say we won't be returning.

Great food great service the only thing I would say is that it needs the decor freshened up

I wanted to buy dumplings from the supermarket beside the Restuarant but it was closed so l went inside the Restuarant to other takeout and l was made to stay outside for more than 30mins for my order. I understand that l was not dressed in a dinner outfit but to stand outside for 30mins wasn't a nice thing.

I can assure you that this is a restaurant that can be racist, the white haired shop assistant obviously speaks Chinese but deliberately pretends not to understand and makes things difficult for you, I know you speak Chinese, I heard you speaking Chinese to someone else, the Chinese I spoke was very simple and not much different from Cantonese pronunciation, when I spoke English to her her English was again very poor, it was very obvious that the food was also terrible, some of the food can be bought in the Chinese supermarket next door but this shop sells it to you at double the price, why would we want to go to a restaurant that is racist and also provides bad service? The Worst Chinese meal I've ever had in my life . The first dish looked like whale vomit , the second like the kids made it in a mud kitchen . The stock for the Won Ton soup must have been the extracted from rinsing the "chefs" socks .

First of all the premises looks beautiful outside but very drab inside .Very noisy inside . Food was very poor .Ribs so tough and chewy. Our chicken dish looked like chicken burgers from Iceland cut into little pieces. We were never asked by server's if we enjoyed any course we had. When oaying bill we were overcharged ,extra meal added on . Even after paying were never asked if we enjoyed our meal . Probably the worst Chinese I have ever had the displeasure of eating .Needless to say we won't eat there again .

I booked a birthday party for my husband together with my family who came all the way up from the South. The first waiter ( young lad) cannot communicate efficiently and took our order incorrectly. The food when it arrived was cold, several of the dishes were incorrect and the prawn and spring onion was like a bowl of normal onion wit a few prawn. Overall we found the standard have drop considerably from the last time we were there and we were very disappointed and embarrassed .

Nice restaurant, good quality of food and was busy mid week so anticipate it’s a good place to go. Wide range of food on the menu and all dishes were prepared fresh and of a good portion size.

35 years of living in HK and came back to Scotland and have since tried several Chinese restaurants and takeaways and this one was without any doubt.....the worst. The staff are polite, nothing wrong there but the food? The rice tasted as if it was fake rice made of plastic. The sweet and sour sauce tasted of vinegar and the lemon sauce tasted acidic as well. The portions were small and although they had authentic yum cha/dim sum dishes available such as chickens feet the portions made me wonder if we'd been given the kids menu. We also recently tried out the Chinese takeaway at the Bridge of Don and despite costing much the same, the quality and quantity were both far better.

Saturday night, and it was quiet, which tells its own story. Staff were very good, but the food was tasteless. If you go here, perhaps try the Chinese menu. Aberdeen is poorly served by Chinese restaurants, Thai are generally better. The best Chinese yes by far is Wok Wok take away.

The food was good, but the service was bad for a single customer: my food was served 30 minutes after ordering, while other groups' food was almost all served, even they came in later than me. But regarding food that I ordered, I would give them 4 stars.

If dim sum is what you’re after for lunch then this is the place to go… One word DELICIOUS! Some of the other comments put me off as it said the staff were unfriendly, not true at all! Also I had noticed a lot of people coming in to use the toilet as to the staff saying no to them. The restaurants toilet is for customers use only, even if you have eaten in the restaurant before doesn’t mean you can use the toilet as you please anyway anytime. To leave a bad review because you couldn’t use the toilet is a bit unfair in my opinion!

What a waste of time. On the site working hours is until 9pm but actually the shop is working until 5pm. Very disappointed.

We had a lunch there. Staff are very nice n friendly. The quality of dim sum is ok but the fried satay noodle and the radish cake are just so so.

New to Aberdeen and out for the day with family. Asked to use the bathroom in the restaurant after using Chinese Market and was told I wasn't allowed even though the bathroom was right in front of me. I would like to remind this establishment that under scottish law you are required to let me use the toilet at your establishment. It is illegal to refuse me. Won't be considering a table here or be using the market next door in future. Very unwelcoming first experience of the place.

I have eaten in this restaurant with friends a few times and the food was mediocre at best and full of thickening agent snd quite tasteless There is a Chinese supermarket adjacent to the restaurant which I often visit! On a visit today I needed to use the washroom facilities as a matter of urgency however on entering I was told s flat NO, I was told the shop was a separate business! I said I have eaten In the restaurant before but still a flat NO! The restaurant was almost empty so wouldn’t have been an issue to let me use the restroom! Well I certainly don’t be returning with any friends or family!

It was an adhoc visit so we didn't make a reservation but the lady at the door took care of us and let us go for a shop where she could then call us when a table is ready, and I appreciate that. Honestly this is the best Chinese food around. I love dimsum and they have my favourite, chicken feet, and samchan, siew yoke! Just amazing. Most authentic and close to home I've had in Scotland.

Have been going here for years and unfortunately let down completely on this occasion. Ordered shredded crispy chilli beef and kung po beef. The shredded chilli beef was more batter than beef with some of the beef inedible. Even the kung po was below the previous standard. Was told meal would be ready in 30 minutes but this was nearly an hour later. Feel let down and definitely not worth the £20

Very good food even if you don't finish it you get to take it home, well spaced out tables so you are not sitting in other patron's pockets like some restaurants. Staff are very friendly. Very good value for money Well, worth a visit, you won't regret it

We had this for 9 people a few weeks ago and all 9 of us enjoyed everything , so decided to have it on the Saturday before st valentines day as we were both busy on that day , phoned at 4:30pm said it would be ready 5:20pm as just open at 5pm .Arrived at 5: 20pm not quite ready ok fare enough, as waiting Chef comes in from car park full whites apron in hand straight into kitchen NEVER even washed his hands !!!! Got my food Smelled amazing like last time , got home my wife soup amazing (chicken & sweetcorn ) mine the ribs in mandarin sauce , sauce amazing ribs tough as old boots no eating on them and cartridges everywhere so not worth it .My main course Hong Kong style chicken sweet n sour beautiful apart from about a 1lb of over cooked peppers , my wife chicken curry wow the thick sauce you could have plastered walls with !!! No love or attention went in to that , we spared a portion of chips and egg fried rice , chips soggy and refried not nice and rice best yet luke warm with no flavour very little egg and nothing else no soy no seasoning boiled rice with a very little egg in it . Not impressed at all Just short of £30 . The reason I write this review is that I posted a note through the door at the restaurant and nobody has replied after leaving my name address and mobile on it . I gave them a chance to even say sorry but they can't be bothered !!! And the reason I wrote about The Chef is that I've been a Chef for 42 plus years half as Head Chef and braking hyrules is a no no in the food industry, outside to inside in whites , hands not washed spoon in hand E.H.O. would love this . Now I would like a reply from management to explain my points

Always tasty food and great service.

On first entering the the restaurant we could see it was not that clean . But the food was really bad . Chips were inedible. Old reheated in a microwave. And the main meals were cold and congeal . It was bad really bad . I would not recommend this restaurant and it didn't even warrant 1 star . Terrible avoid. This is what happens when restaurants get greedy.

I’m not the greatest lover of Chinese food however my partner is and for his birthday we visited here on a recommendation. I really enjoyed my meal, we had several starters then a main each with rice, chips and noddles. The service was excellent and price reasonable. I have lived in Aberdeen all my life and had never been here before and will most definitely return.

The food was good but I expected it to be better as everyone else I've spoke to rave about it. Maybe it was a bad day or maybe I'm just weird🤣

Superb food, excellent cheerful service, lovely atmosphere

Not been here for a very long time but always wanted to come back and again, it didn't disappoint! Food served quickly, good tasting, big portions. The jasmine tea complimented the food. Its a big pot good for 2 or 3 people for £3, so just order 1 if it's just the two of you. We went for the sharing starter and for mains egg fried rice, garlic chicken and beef brisket curry (could only finish half so this was a takeaway dinner for me). Fabulous food. Would love to be back again. My only critic is the table cover. It used to be better looking, this time it's just a square piece of paper. It just doesn't look as nice. They had proper table cover before with the paper cover on top.

1st time we have been here, was recommended. It most certainly didn't disappoint. We were a table of 4 and went for the set meal C. The quality of food was top notch. The combination starter and aromatic duck was plentiful and freshly cooked. The main meals were all freshly cooked and 1st class. Special mention to our waitress who was attentive and very funny, she liked the craic!!

Very healthy portion sizes, order less than you think you need! Very well priced.

Myself, my husband and my sister decided we fancied some Chinese food last night and decided to try the Manchurian based on past experience and it's excellent reviews. We did not think to book so just turned up around 6pm. It was no problem and we were welcomed and seated very quickly. The menu is sizable and has all the classics along with a few more unusual offerings. We all chose something different and shared ( Smithy would be horrified! :) )we were all more than pleased. My sister said it was the best chinses she has had in a very long time. We will be back.

Great restaurant Service can be slow

Been here many times both in house and take away and it was beautiful but Saturday night was such a disappointment. Ordered duck and chips, fried chicken and rice as a main course for two of our family. The chips came along with the rest of our meals but had to wait 25 minutes for duck!! All meal was only warm so spoiled as I like my food hot. We only got one small dish of rice between 8 of us and they forgot our noodles. One person had her sweet and we waited 20 minutes for ice cream and sticky toffee pudding which was cold. Very very disappointed. Short of staff was reason they said 😡😡

Visited on the 11th June. Definitely book in advance. Quite small and very popular. We had starters and mains - dumplings, satay sticks, duck dish and salt and chilli chicken. With rice and noodles. Everything was delicious. Enjoyable evening.

Salt & pepper chicken/ribs both very very tasty. Chicken and cheese rolls are also good and always have been. Lovely garlic chilli chicken with a spicy kick. Don’t forget to order mandarin sauce on the side - so good! Can’t wait to go back.

Fantastic lunch here. Can definitely recommend the mouth watering chicken and the salt & pepper monk fish with fried rice. Wash this down with some tea (think it was jasmine).

Absolutely the best Chinese food I’ve eaten in Scotland. Delicately seasoned and crispy Salt and Chilli Monkfish was perfectly cooked, steamed in a excellent batter. Prawns with Chinese mushrooms, plump and tender. An attentive and welcoming staff. Authentic and proud of their food. Brilliant.

From easy booking, to large clean tables and chairs, a choice of cutlery or chopsticks, comprehensive and easy to navigate menus, great service and fantasticly authentic Chinese food, what's not to like!
