Your standard Wetherspoons. Speedy service (we used the app) and great food. The toilets were fine, not a huge trek to get to them (unlike some spoons). Overall, a decent pub. Would go back!

I love it here. Food came out quickly and was nice.

Nice staff, very efficient. 3 of us all had jacket potatoes with 1 of 2 fillings. Presented lovely with a good amount of salad. Lots of filling for the jackets so we would recommend them. Made good use of the tea, coffee and hot choc refills so that’s a definite bonus. Good service. Nice atomosphere.

Here, you can't go wrong with any of the public houses they own. Very friendly.

Was cold in the chandlers but it was lunchtime. Meat pie delicious but could have had a better variety of vegetables.

The service was absolutely awful at the bar, got served by a young 20's ish woman, (Katie I think) and she was just really rude and awful to my husband and I. Ordered food on the app which was good but was impacted from that first impression at the bar

Excellent place. Enjoyed a lovely Classic burger and as much coffee as I could drink without being greedy. Also sampled a half pint of excellent strong draft ale. Lovely staff. Lovely lunchtime atmosphere. All very convivial. Often come here. Always great. Went again 13th July 2022 and still fantastic. Great staff. Great food. Great prices. A real win win win 🏆! Terrible service, attitude and extremely rude and offensive staff. The worst food and service I have ever experienced. The food was aweful too. For instance, the curry chicken had no curry.

Absolutely dire breakfast never get the order right and arrived with missing items and over 1 hr wait !!!! Going down hill and staff seem uncapable of running the restaurant.

Fast friendly service but the food was a big disappointment compared to other spoons we have visited. The burger bun was like cardboard and seemed a day past it's best, and jacket potatoes under cooked.

Great place for breakfast. Especially impressed with the kids breakfast as they get a great selection of food for a reasonable price.

Nice relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent especially from 2 of the floor staff a man called archie and the other one was a lovely girl called millie they were very polite and helpful and they didn't stop working all over it was nice to see a couple of young people who took pride in their work.

Had the steak and kidney pudding, couldn't believe the size of it! I could count the chips on my fingers. No attempt had been made to make the dish look remotely appetising. It looked dull and bland. Having said that the steak pudding was very tasty, shame there wasn't much of it though.

I only occasionally pop into the Lord when l visit my sister as l live the other side of Leicester. Each time has been a very pleasant experience, nice cosy atmosphere , friendly staff and always clean an tidy . It is obviously a very popular place to visit judging by the number of locals just sitting , chatting , reading, and generally having a quiet chilled morning . Love it .

It's a nice place. I think it's a part of the wetherspoon brand. It has a cosy area. The bar is massive with a lot of selections. The service was spot on. The waitress checked on us to make sure we were okay periodically. There was no background music 🎶🎶. Overall I would recommend it.

Although the food is still great value. It isn't quite as good as before! But considering we're in a cost of living crisis, I still say 4/5! The staff are mostly very good and hard working! There are many regular drinkers who might benefit by getting a job!

Well my sister and I thought we'd pop in on the bank holiday morning, cheap and cheerful we thought.... not cheerful! We didn't want a lot so thought we'd order a pannini each. Sadly what we got was nothing like a pannini - ham & cheese plus a cheese & tomato pannini turned out to be a bread roll, toasted on the inside. Mine came with a slice of ham but just not sure what happened to the cheese, literally nothing. Sister's was as bad, two thin slices of tomato but again no existent cheese. When the very young waitress asked how it was, I pointed out the non existent cheese to which she replied she could bring me a slice!! Didn't even get the chance to mention anything else as she walked away. Worst food, terrible pub. Don't waste your money or time

Beautiful day to sit outside, atmosphere was great as we were all off to football match later, and to top it all off we won 🏆 😀 😎

Better than your average Wetherspoons! The bar and waiting staff are smiley and polite and the prices are lower than in the city centre.

Went for the inaugural pub quiz night and had a fair bit of fun. Would recommend if you fancy something to do. Parking is free after 6pm nearby.

No dogs, so had to sit outside of the boundary, ok but then told no drinks on the outside because of glass, understood so why serve drinks and take the money and a cocky little girl says your bared ? Offer plastic cups on a day when the roads closed due to a car convention???

Once I was listening to music ,I did not had heard phone,so obbvasily every one an any one can hear it,from there on I realised I should have head phones or should not play music or talk loudly , But know I have notice,there are few people come and , have so loud voice , Which vorabel would not like it or bear it should do something about it

The best Wetherspoons breakfast I've ever had. The bacon was actually cooked, and the eggs weren't rock solid - runny yolk! First time it was worth the money. I usually go to the White House, this was far superior. I'd give 5 stars, but sometimes this pub refuses service 20 mins before last orders as they "want to go home early" 🤷‍♂️

Where are the mangers? I don’t know what’s happening to this pub, new staff every week nobody ever on the bar. The app is ridiculous when people push in, the app gets pushed back. Very disappointing waiting ages for drinks, never no mangers just kids.

The prices of the food as understandably gone up due to the cost of living...but the quality & quantity of the food as gone down drastically. We were the only ones eating in the pub. This is our first visit for a little while now. And this is more like a drinking pub not a pub/ restaurant. Will only visit for a drink next time.

Stunning place I absolutely adored the interior and the whole family friendly vibe of the place, the place has a wide range of drinks and food and is open till late night.

Went on Saturday as normal ,sometimes we’d for breakfast ,I don’t understand how many times they get their food orders wrong ,if it comes. They had no forks .I ordered baked potato double cheese it came with no cheese. I went to politely ask for it to be replaced and the girl before I could speak aggressively said I am not going to argue. Before one word came out my mouth .we went on Saturday and my boyfriend went to the Bar. And politely asked for it to come as he had ordered. Because it never does ,anyway the girl never explained she was going back for the salad she then told me as she brought it to me that she had not got 3hands. .after I moved tables as the new chairs are so bad for your back .my boyfriend ordered a drink he hadn’t got the right change and owed him one penny he said I will go get one pence off me .before he knew it the staff had fetched the manager to my boyfriend besides a female staff trying to put two pence worth in ,the manager talks to you like you are one years old and to get out of what they said tried saying my boyfriend swore ,which he did not he only asked to stop embarrassing him over ,one pence she apologised to me .this staff here need customer service skills ,I see loads of food sent back and one night my boyfriend was over charged 3pounds. .this pub is slowly going down hill I don’t need to be spoken to like a child and you cannot get a word in they are so aggressive and rude .don’t accuse anybody of doing anything without proof the manager said they had been speaking about my boyfriend in the kitchen .as a manager I suggest you control your staff it doesn’t make you look good ,

Visited on a weekday lunch - pretty quiet, maybe only half full. Found a booth and ordered via the app. Booth was clean, and general area was tidy and clean looking also. Male staff member brought our drinks out after maybe 5 minutes? He apologised for the wait and said they weren't used to orders placed via the app, so they hadn't seen it right away. We hadn't been waiting long at all so really didn't mind. Female staff member brought our food out shortly after. She was very polite and keen to make sure we had everything we needed. Food was presented well and - whilst it was just bog standard Spoons food - was tasty. I paid extra for side salad - fresh, generous, no icky brown bits that I've had from other Spoons. Plates were cleared promptly by the same female staff member, who checked our meal had been ok. (She had also been continuously cleaning other tables around us, so well done her for being efficient and keeping the area looking nice!) We also both used the loos which were spotless. I can't speak for the men's loo, but the ladies is on the ground floor, which is an accessibility bonus. Spoons is Spoons, but this is the best we've had in a while. Quieter than most, clean, polite staff. We've been in some absolutely rotten ones, and this was lovely in comparison. We'll definitely be returning. Just keep on top of orders placed via the app ;)

Visited today after some time for what we hoped would be a good breakfast. Unfortunately, this was not the case. All the food can only be described as tepid and had to be eaten very quickly. Not value for money The only saving grace was that the coffee was hot and refillable and the toilets were exceptionally clean. Doubt we will be visiting again 🙁

This used to be a great pub, but over the last year the food and cleanliness have deteriorated. Food is cold, eggs always undercooked, toast is reheated so many times it’s rock hard and unpalatable. All the tables are always sticky ,,, cutlery has had to be return on each occasion. Sadly as a regular of over 5 years, I’ve have started to use sainsburys in Oadby, it is more expensive but nice hot food in a clean restaurant.

This spoons was a great pub, but now with tables not always cleaned well, and worn out carpets going to toilets gives the impression that needs a bit of attention to the cleaning and maintenance of the pub. The difference in standards is brought into focus by any visit to the Wigston Spoons.

The manager here was soo rude (Sam), took my father out for breakfast as his had a stroke recently and was one of the most unpleasant service received, I ordered 3 breakfast asked if the sausages are plain and no sage, he said yes, once it came out it was cold and sausages were not plain, I went told the manager and he start being extremely defensive stating he don’t make them yet told me at the point of order they were plain, my son and father still ate their breakfast whilst he offered to bring out qorn sausages which came and rest of my breakfast was cold bearing in mind came out pretty cold, addressed to the manager I’m not happy and he start explain I should read the allergen online and still went to be defensive and rude, never would attend this place again, poor service and poor food

My daughter and i went here one Sunday for Lunch and was very pleasantly surprised just how well everything turned out to be. The service was good, the food was good and the overall feel for the place inside was good also. With it being a Wetherspoons, the food and drink are good value compared to what you would pay in other standard pubs, so there is usually no expectancy with regards to quality but on this occasion i can honestly say a big thumbs up. At £1.99 for a Coors Light,you cannot go wrong - as i pay £4.20 for a pint of lager in my local. My daughter opted for the Jacket Potato with Baked Beans, an i would say the only slight negative was that this came with an obsessive amount of salad on top of it, an bearing in mind this was for a 10 year old child, it was a bit over the top, however, i did not mind as such as i had it ;)) I also feel that the plates that the food gets served up on needs vastly updating updating as they look like they were brought in the 1970's as a joblot. I know for a fact that these plates are not just limited to this place as i have eaten off of plates that are of the very same colour and design in Wetherspoon Pubs in Leicester, London and Edinburgh. I will go back again when in Oadby next.

I ordered a kid's meal and 2 burgers and when my burger came out it had no sauce on it and it came with bacon what I asked not to at the till, so I told them at the bar and they said they will sort it out. I waited over 10mins and my son and gf had finished their meal at this point, bit no one came so I went to the bar and gave them my plate and told them iv been waiting and no one came and I ordered a burger without bacon and it not got no sauce on it. They took it away and another 10mins later they brought out another burger with bacon on! So I sent it back and then went to the bar and I saw the chef come out and say they have sent it back again because it's got bacon on it, I said yes that was mine and the chef asked if I'm allergic to bacon and I told her I can't eat things with sodium nitrate in them, I then said I did tell the lady at the till I don't want bacon and the manager said it does say on 5he receipt no bacon. At this point my 3 year old wanted to go and my gf had finished, so I asked for my money back for the burger. We won't be going back! They can't get a simple order right even though it says no bacon and the burger I ordered should come with sauce!

Wetherspoons have changed their Food menus recently as a desperation to claw people in, but this only works if you've got the food in! We've been on Friday at 7pm over the last 2 weeks to be told no Fish & chips. We ordered from the menu only to find that I had twice as much chips as my wife's (10 chips.) Chips portions have gone down generally! We also noticed that at 9.30pm the pub was only 1/2 full. Pre last lock down you couldn't get in here between 6 & 9.30pm on a Friday! Most of the staff have left from previous. Service is also poor. The pub WILL pre dominantly be a drinks haven for all ages. It was a huge joke to see 2 bouncers at the door when we were leaving,

Great pub, great food, but what's better than the establishment itself... the staff. Notably Charlie Sell. Charlie has provided the best service I have ever received in my whole 20 years of being alive. While my visits to this pub are never eventful, on one occasion, I happened to be pestered by a stranger. Charlie could see that I was being nuisanced by the man and stepped in without me even asking. Charlie solved my problem, and I was left a happy customer. I hope Charlie knows that he is a fantastic human and deserves the world. Legend.

Saw a member of staff not seen since lockdown and he greeted us as we went in, absolutely brilliant. Came over to see how getting on, quick chit chat, showing he regarded us as NOT just a number. That is how it should be.Tables were spread out a bit, with screens on some and at the bar. Ordered on the app and service was quick. This was a visit about 10am. The only thing is that menus are limited from before (not a problem though) and the main menu didnt come up on the app until gone 11am.I,m sure though if i,d asked i could have ordered from it at the bar.Food was fine as usual and, you can have unlimited coffees, you just have to ask for a fresh cup.Congratulations to Wetherspoons for getting their pubs up and running, but most all a massive THANKYOU to those friendly staff.

Visited recently after lockdown and was pleasently suprised greated by very friendly staff explaining rules, a little different inside but set out very niceley and service is great i ordered on app and was very prompt service. Well done.

Instantaneous service our bums had just hit the seats when the food appeared literally took seconds!Drinks served were wrong asked for a pepsi Max cherry and got full pepsi but happily changed their mistake no issues food was delicious and filling for such a cheap eatery it was very busy too great to see will be back again soon!

Not so many students or younger folk in here compared to the High Cross. Nicely laid out pub that is spacious with low ceiling, real fire making it quite warm in here, although not too hot.I had the Farne Island by Hadrian Border Brewery, no guesses needed where that exists. An enjoyable bitter that is very slightly hoppy.I can imagine it's popular in here during the Spring and summer with people enjoying the outdoor seating.

The Lord Keeper of the Great Seal is a typical Wetherspoons. Drinks are cheap. Food can be a bit hit and miss but is cheap. It's a light and airy place on one level which is good if you have mobility issues. There is public parking just over the road if required. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful.

Cold Breakfast again and cannot understand why?Plates cold.You could actually count the baked beans! Looks like portion control has been implemented by the "bean counters"Quickly rushed it down before it could get any colder.A server came over just as we had just finished and asked "was your food alright"..err "No...it was not very warm".."I'll tell them"...that was it...great service.Keep trying here but now I'll give it a miss.Shall not bother again.

Words fail me!! We had been so let down by the Oadby Owl for my mother in laws birthday. They had treated her disgracefully. We rang up after they failed us so badly to see if weatherspoons could accommodate us. We were a large party & staff were amazing! So accommodating & made us feel very welcome from the start. My mother in law was so distressed after her treatment at Oadby owl & your staff made our night! You were welcoming & so helpful. Food was amazing & all the staff were fab! Thank you so so much you saved our evening & you should all be so proud of your excellent customer service! Thankyou so much.Happy new year xx

Got to the bar no signs advising of any issues with food menu usual long wait ordered two meals from the Christmas menu neither available they had no stuffing for either dish the Duty Manager was not at all pleasant.Had to go back to my table to start again then rejoined an even longer queue.Overheard someone say they didn't have any stuffing yesterday.Its the 23rd of December who is doing the ordering here.

I like this place ...the beer is nice....Thursday is curry night...we ordered two curries and drinks for about £15... reasonable curry size unless you are a pig...but more importantly it tastes like a curry should...

went to get breakfast at 1155 by the time i got served was 1202 she said i was lucky then she ask for my table number which i didnt know then she said ya better get a table number no thanks please or nothing i got a table number when i got back she was serving someone else then i walked out was gone 20 seconds this is not the first time this as happened the staff are very rude in all the wetherspoons wont be using them again

Tonight this public house is definitely busy therefore a good atmosphere. If you live local you will bump into someone, Nice. Good selection of beers. The food was quick but I'm not sure about the portion size or am I just a pig... Leave that one to you. Did I say the beer was very good.

The bar staff are quick and effective, and the front of house staff do a good job also but the place is tried, worn out furniture stained seat covers and a general feeling of TLC required but " it needs more than just a sparkle"

There is plenty of parking nearby, and plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is great value and with free refills on the coffee, what’s not to love .

We have come to this pub for many years as we live in Oadby. Over the past few months we have felt it become scruffy and dirty. On our last visit we were planning to have a meal and drinks. The tables were dirty and uncleared , the carpet full of scraps of food, so sadly we decided to leave as we didn't want to eat in such a dirty and unkempt place. What a shame.

Go every Saturday. Food as gone down the hill and the carpet needs renewing. Tables always dirty peanuts smashed where sofas are and 3 weeks running beer spilled over the tables ask at 7.15 to wipe at 9.45 table still filthy I cannot believe also none takes aboard these reviews . Last Saturday an old lady was cleaning her own table ? Hello keeper of the seal action is needed you will lose customers !

Very good, for drinks and the bar staff our wonderful. Had a Pani, cheese and Tuna with salad and it was good value for the price. We will return.

We come back to the UK about once a year and usually eat most meals here. Last year we had a poor experience with a staff member, not so this year but the quality of the food has plummeted and the cleanliness of the place is now pretty awful. Such a great shame.

We visit this place every week and never have anything to complain about. Cheap and cheerful food which you know what you are getting for your money. Great selection of beers, ales, spirits etc. Very friendly staff... You can’t go wrong here!

Visited again around 10.30 pm this Monday evening .. not many people in but most where still in their coats as the place was like an ice box... why why why do the management do this ??

This is a busy pub but very warm and welcoming. Plenty of seating and a good family area. The drinks are very reasonably priced and you can buy a coffee or tea for £1.25. You take the mug you are given to the machine and choose your beverage. You can then go back for as many refills as you wish - great if you are driving. There is a good menu and many of the prices include a drink. The food is good quality and served very quickly.

On the tables were promotional sheets advertising burgers however, when going to order we were informed they had ran out of them. If this was the case why hadn’t the sheets advertising them been taken off tables, a simple 30 second task? The disappointment continued when attempting to order other items, this included the chicken tikka and one of the steaks (cannot remember which one). I ended up having to order the most expensive item on the menu due to this which I felt was rather convenient. I understand things run out but it felt as though half the menu was out of stock.

Have been here a few times recently and the food is really good value, well presented and tasty. To be quite honest I have paid more (a lot more !!) in Leicester's more hip & trendy places (I am veggie but i eat fish - whatever that means).

Went here for a drink Saturday evening, 2 of us ordered desserts , they arrived with a spoon and fork but the fork I got was filthy and put me off eating anything. The manager offered me another pudding! I said no cos it made me feel sick so he offered a coffee which was refillable HOWEVER we had already had a coffee and before we could refill they took the mugs away. Not impressed

Came in for our usual food and a few pints to end the week, waited at the bar for quite a while, people that came after us were served before us. Food was good and drinks the same old, on exit we were forced to down our drinks and leave with no real politeness. Our friend has severe acid reflux and can not control when they need to be sick and as we left they had to be sick, none of this was in the pub, but was outside (easily washed away, I know it isn’t ideal and is an inconvenience). However instead of asking if my friend was okay, the manager Mitch berated my friend for something he could not control, when notified that it was a medical condition he replied ‘I couldn’t give a f*ck’ when questioned why he was so rude he said ‘f*ck off, you’re barred’, understandable for them being sick, but was delt with terribly.

Like many Wetherspoons food in variable in quality and temperature. Reasonable prices casual pleasent surrounding. Beer great prices. Last visit food good.

Upon arriving I ordered from the bar and was literally ignored by the available person on the bar. He went through all the people who were currently being served and those who had been served, drink in hand. He then preceded to serve me but after handing me the drink ignored me and didn’t say anything. I took my seat and after finishing my drink made 2 further orders via the app. The first drink via the app took 10 minutes to arrive despite the bar being quiet or ‘dead’. When ordering my 2nd drink via the app it arrived within 30 seconds with the bar being busy at this point. I was happy with the person who brought me my drink the 2 times I ordered via the app but was very disappointed with the member of staff that took my order at the bar.

Had a great time at this informative friendly 1st event, well done to the lovely lady hosting i brought my running buddies along and we had a lovely time, bring on the next one!

Still travel a long way to come here but well worth it. It's cool sometimes near the toilets but I like it and hate heat. Local largely good fun and staff as good as ever. Slight...no massive glitch...two three day periods in the last two months with no Black Dragon!!!

We have been coming here for years and it’s ALWAYS cold summer and winter , we have asked the management many many times to please put on the heating or just turn down the air conditioning but just get fobbed off or ignored with excuses time and time again... I have to agree with the other customers who have wrote about this.. surely it’s not right to really suffer these conditions? .. all we ask is to drink in a comfortable environment not shivering.. !!!!

Regularly go there for breakfast which is great value and is everything you want from an English breakfast! Also for meals I love the wide selection and alcoholic drinks are a bargain ! Only complaint is it can sometimes be quite rough and rowdy in there especially if you’re with kids

I was here Tuesday evening with friends of mine . Was the coldest pub I had ever been in I mean really cold .. All of the customers were sitting around in coats and this is August??
