The Loft in Neath Port Talbot

Booked lunch for a special family occasion, but were left very disappointed. The starters were all good but the main courses were a disappointment. The sirloin steak £21.45 was small, and only came with one potato, some small tomatoes, and sauce. Had to pay £3.25 for extra fries. The sea bass special came on a large bed of rice, which contained very little sea food such as prawns. We ordered a jug of red Pimms as advertised on our table for £12.95, but when received it was basically yellow fizzy lemonade with some ice cubes, and mint leaves. Such a disappointing experience as previous visits had been excellent.

We paid a visit to the loft today to check out its new menu. The restaurant itself is very nice indeed, lovely decor, great music and wonderful views. The even set menu was good, a lot of choice and a variety of dishes. The same can be said for the normal menu which has lots of choice too. The food arrived promptly, well presented and great quantity. Two of us ordered from the set menu and one from the full menu, there was no different to size or quantity which was great to see. The chicken skewers, Brie wedges and garlic mushrooms for starters were all excellent and bursting with flavour, and very good portion sizes too. The fish and chips, chicken curry and the lasagne for mains were all fantastic, very tasty and well presented and the portion sizes were simply amazing, too much in fact. You really could not fault it. Dessert, a nice variety once again, however we all opted for the Belgian Waffle.... which was amazing with the added surprise that it came with actual Nutella.... result. The staff were excellent, very attentive , lovely to speak to and couldn’t do enough for you. They really were and asset to the restaurant. A must visit. Well recommended.

Went with the family. Ordered pan fried chicken breast. The garnish was ok but the portion size was very disappointing. Complained and cost was removed from the bill.

Disappointing visit with friends, we are all local and like supporting local businesses. This was a disaster from the start, the staff don’t acknowledge you and leave you without drinks all night, we waited over 90 minutes for service. The food was horrendous having to send some of it back because it wasn’t edible. Our advice would be to avoid and stay away, there are plenty of business that appreciate custom and try really hard to retain their customers.

Friendly service. Tasty and well presented food. Sat in conservatory and enjoyed the views up to the snow capped hills. Enjoyed the desserts. Lively atmosphere as lunch was finishing and afternoon tea guests were arriving.

A little disappointed with the menu choice. Service was friendly , location is lovely. A specials board is much needed. We will try again in the Spring/Summer.

Booked in person for Sunday carvery, turned up and told no carvery in the loft but next door in a totally different Returaunt (the coach house)! Waited an hour for starters which when arrived were cold. Mains arrived 1.45 minutes later cold , in the mean time the table opposite us has a Sunday carvery??!! Told no staff and that waitress had to cook in kitchen. Didn’t pay and left ......... Never ever going again

Pleasant location Nice potion sizes can be a little over priced for lunch. Drinks are pricey. Been a few times same menu for lunch and evening
