Proper local cafe. Excellent breakfasts. Great variety of other options from shepherd's pie to omelette to lasagne. Good kids menu choices too. And ice cream milkshakes with a variety of flavours. I plan to try the butter pecan next time!

Had a nice breakfast come lunch there , quite busy popular place in st Ives (Cambridgeshire) near Cambridge, good choice of foods and drink as well ,good for breakfast or a more substantial meal as well , will go back

Nice cafe with very good food at quite reasonable prices. Flavoursome meals &good portion sizes. Staff are very helpful efficient and friendly. Our little girl was made very welcome&enjoyed the aquarium. Very good prices on nice kiddy meals. She was given a lolly as we left&was very happy! Thanks so much. The Turkish owner&chef is very good with little ones.

A banging local caff; does everything right. Tea, bag left in to allow you to steep to your required strength. Sausage and egg roll, cooked on the griddle, yoke, unbroken and richly yellow, sausage grilled perfectly, lightly buttered roll, HP Sauce. Magical Clean, bright, friendly. Great staff. Simply a joy to eat here. A community. Much love people.

Cleanest cafe I've ever visited. Lovely and warm inside too. Staff were very kind and friendly, and happy to accommodate smaller portions for the children. Food was delicious. Will definitely visit again!

It's a lovely, clean cafe with an extensive menu. Cater to allergies. Nicely redecorated. Toilets are chilly but clean and fresh smelling. Family run with excellent, speedy, accurate and happy service. Great value.

We used to visit local cafe years ago with stinking hang overs following a heavy night out and had totally forgotten about it until we were looking for somewhere to go on a rare Friday morning off. My wife and I visited yesterday and had the best fry up with a cup of tea and milkshake - re living those younger days seeking a hang over cure. It did not disappoint, the food is fantastic and breakfast is customisable, fast friendly service in a clean classic cafe. We can't wait to return and bring the kids this time, we hope to make it a regular visit.

If you're in St Ives, visit the Local Cafe. It's good food, at a reasonable price. The service is quick, and it is always very clean . Cash only though. No cards accepted. Not a big problem though. Highly recommended.

Lovely local family run cafe. Extremely welcoming and get to know regulars orders. Reasonably priced and accessible.. and a large amount of food to choose from and even if its not on the menu ask, they are so helpful.

I came here for the 1st time. My partner comes here with his mate quite often, but the outside decor put me off coming in!! My son and his partner came down to St. ives, and this is where she wanted to eat! WelI, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor inside. Lovely and comfy, staff were friendly & helpful. I had the breakfast B and my son the C.. he couldn't eat all is. So it's value for money.

Visit the Local Cafe in St Ives and Huntingdon quite regularly. Big menu choice and always good. Staff are very friendly and it’s the quickest service ever. Portions are decent sizes and have not ever been disappointed. They are always happy to adapt choices for our fussy family too!

Decidedly average. Daughter had mushroom omelette, which according to her was tasteless, husband had a standard fried egg sandwich and I asked for a jacket potato with tuna and melted cheese on top, I got a jacket potato with just melted cheese so requested it, it came back had with a side of tuna (it was more a case of mayonnaise with some tuna in it). Finished with apple pie and custard. This was decent. All in all overpriced for what it was Nice friendly staff.

I’m quite surprised at reading some of the other reviews here, as they bore no resemblance to our experience. I understand the Turkish owners have been there a year now so some reviews clearly belong to a different owner. We had the best mug of tea I’ve tasted in a cafe in years! Our omelettes and chips were cooked perfectly. The prices seem reasonable to what we see on our frequent travels. I would add that the place was absolutely spotless which is always a bonus. It was a quiet day when we visited and the lady was busy polishing everything that didn’t move.

The food is tasty and the staff are good + friendly, however a recent price rise is well above inflation. The set breakfast I had has risen by £1.40 and has been reduced by no longer including a hot drink in the price and has one slice of toast less. I noticed the lamb chops (an occasional treat) have risen by over £4. Four stars reflects the excessive price rise and portion reductions.

I’m a business man myself and in the present financial climate fully understand and appreciate the current situation but….. Went in for breakfast with my sister and husband we had 3 breakfast that used to include tea or coffee that were expensive before but now don’t include a hot drink. The food is good but so is Wetherspoons across the rd and a lot cheaper latte coffee £1.20 (free refills) compared to over £3 here in this cafe, large breakfast £5.80 compared to £10 + here. Such a shame as they have out-priced themselves now, I noticed was only a couple of other people in. Sorry guys as nice as you are but your be out of business by the end of the year especially as everyone is a lot more price savvy and looking for better deals. Your better off with a full cafe at reasonable prices rather than an empty cafe with expensive prices.

I thought the breakfast was good, eggs nicely cooked not snotty n raw on top or hard, the sausage was nice too too. Nice cafe and clean we found staff to be friendly. The only downside is the breakfasts are expensive but does include a regular coffee or tea.

My wife and i popped in whilst visitibg the area. We sat at a table and was asked what we would like to drink. My wife ordered a latte and myself a cappuccino. We both ordered a breakfast as it states on the menu that coffee is included in the price. The breakfast arrived and it was very good. After finishing i went to the counter to pay for our breakfasts, and noticed the total price charged was much dearer than it should have been. When i queried this with the server i was told it was because my wife and i had a cappuccino and a latte with our breakfasts, only instant coffee is included in the price of a breakfast. So i told the server that they need to show it on the menu that only instant coffee is included in the price, as no where does it state this. So overall, very nice breakfast spoilt by the fact that we had to pay extra for our coffees making it an expensive breakfast!

Called in for a bacon sandwich. disappointed with the staff who seemed un interested and bored. the food lacked flavour. Prices higher than they should be for a lack lustre place. will not be going again.

I purchased two babychinos for my grandchildren from this cafe and was horrified to be charged £2.80 each, the same price as their speciality coffees. This is an extortionate amount and I have never been charged more than £1 in any other cafe. I won't be going there again. We were the only customers - perhaps that says something!!

Have just moved to the area and have been popping in most mornings to use their wi fi. Bacon and sausage baguettes have been my usual but my son has the excellent omelettes. They always greet you in a polite manner and their service is excellent. I always leave a tip but they don’t make you feel like you have to.

Great food, great service, they could not have been more helpful "with my broken arm" I would recommend the local cafe to ALL.

St ives local cafe came through with the fry up! Not gonna lie the sausages slapped differently, bacon was lacklustre though and my beans and mushrooms left me feeling disheartened. The hash browns were browner than me and cooked to perfection, the price tag made me gasp though.... £30 quid for breakfast? This ain’t Pret A Manger big man! No eye contact on service as well so I was just staring at my guys hairy forehead as he tilled in my order. 3/5 maybe look me in the eyes whilst you rob me next time

My family and I went in for one of their famous All-Day Breakfasts, late one afternoon and the food was great, the service was good and the prices were reasonable. What's not to like? Would definitely eat there again.

Been coming here for years, never had a bad meal here. My wife loves the breakfast D, well worth the money and all the staff are very friendly. They do a wide selection of food and if the lasagna is on special definitely get it, you won't be disappointed!

We decided to eat here as we have tried the same named cafe in nearby Huntingdon.We weren’t disappointed, same excellent level of service and lovely food.You can always tell hie good a cafe is by how busy it is and although only a few people in when we got there 11:30 it soon filled up.We had the Local cafe special, burger, bacon, egg, sausage, mushroom, chips and beans.A huge plateful, you’ll need a good appetite to finish it. Very enjoyable. Friendly staff.

This is a lovely cafe with a retro feel. They do a wide variety of meals and their milkshakes are amazing!!! If you want a cheap tasty cafe meal look no further!! Oh there is one thing though and thats they don't take card its cash only but dont let that put you off it really is a lovely place to eat :-) .

I was visiting family who live in St. Ives. My daughter Marie mentioned I sometimes complain, ( I tend to speak my mind, but with respect) well here it is. ALEX, The food was too hot, the establishment too clean, the smiles were too many, the service too friendly and fast, the food was cooked to a great standard, the fish swimming in the tank were a joy to watch, my complaint is, I dont have a complaint. ha ha great place to eat, sausages were really tasty. I had to leave speechless with a thumbs up and not one moan from me. I will go again and be quite at home.

We have had many meals here, the surroundings are a little basic, it is just a cafe, but it’s scrupulously clean, well fitted, with an extensive menu from toast to roast dinners. We have tried most of the menu and have never had a poor meal, the staff are friendly and efficient and the prices very reasonable

A very friendly local cafe who offer quality every day meals. The children had cheese on toast and as the two slices each were very large, I would recommend that small children could share one dish as our kids struggled to eat the quantity.

We came for breakfast and there was a good choice and a decent price too. Place is very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We were meeting relatives at another cafe, but that was closed. However niece also used The Local Cafe regularly, so off we went. Told the portions were large, but even then we (wife & I) were amazed at the large plates, & the pile of food. Despite this the meals were absolutely excellent. The staff were very attendant, & helpful. Great place.

Lovely clean and tidy cafe. Food good, arrived quickly and well priced, ideal for English Breakfast or burger type meals but do other food too. Had two pieces of scrambled egg on toast, very nice. Plenty of seating, tables in most areas fixed to floor but some loose chairs available. Centrally located for the shops in St Ives.

We have been coming here for years. Druce from Bedford on a Sunday just for breakfast! Excellent value and so much choice. Fantastic staff. Exceptionally clean. Lunches and snacks great too.

Often, in the past, I'd head here before a train to London and their meals were fantastic - a full, hearty meal at a reasonable rate. Recently, I revisited and it was the same - I can't recommend this cafe enough for a full English breakfast.

Los precios son muy buenos, así que pedir más de café que no elevar la factura. En el tema de café, yo pagaría más por un poco más de café cata mejor o, al menos, que como la opción de un sabor premium, pero en general este café era la opción correcta y nos fuimos con los estómagos y feliz! I've been going to the Local Cafe with friends and family for years. The place is always impeccably clean and has a great atmosphere with people of all ages enjoying the food or having one of their delicious milkshakes! The menu is extensive - they have everything you'd ever expect in a café including cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, pasta dishes, roast dinners, deserts and much more. The burgers are a favourite amongst local regulars and one of my personal favourites is the lasagne! The portion sizes are very generous and it's all good value for money.

Always has customers and staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food good and reasonable prices. Good with kids and helpful with the oldies. Recommend.

Been here endless times and it's always hot, fresh and reasonably priced. Huge choice of standard cafe fare, with chips, but also beautiful Sunday lunch, liver and bacon etc. Alex and the rest of the staff always friendly and helpful.

St Ives is spoiled for choice with excellent restaurants and cafe's but The local Cafe is right up there with the best of themWe've been coming here (and using the take away next door) for the last 15 years and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal or experience.. The staff are always polite, the service is super quick and the food is excellent as are the portions which are huge.. Value for money is outstanding too... Just try the half pound burger with fries

Have been coming to the local cafe since it opened many years ago. It's always spotlessly clean. The food is always fresh piping hot and ready in minutes! A wonderful atmosphere with mums and baby's, teenagers and older people all together enjoying a lovely meal or just one of there delicious milkshakes!!
