The Lobster Pot in Isle of Anglesey

Awful food and ridiculously overpriced. My family and I visited for dinner and were so disappointed. The service was okay but disorganised and simple things we asked for were forgotten about. My wife had the penang curry with prawns and it was shocking. It tasted like curry powder and water and the vegetables in it were clearly frozen veg that consisted of sweetcorn, peas and cauliflower and the prawns were like rubber. For nearly £20 it was vile!! The kids could have made a curry better than that!! The setting is so beautiful and they could do so much more with the place. It honestly isn’t worth a visit and I believe they are putting the prices up again. Daylight robbery!

I cannot recommend enough!! We have visited this restaurant on many occasions in the past. But the 1st time with the new owners. They have certainly rose to the challenge, and raised the bar I believe. Ceri the owner couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the ambience of the place remains cosy and spotless, with four legged friends also given a warm welcome. Great selection of local beers, which delighted my husband. Ceri recommended the local “tap room” where the ales are brewed ( separate review on TA) which we duly noted and visited on Saturday, and enjoyed immensely. The menu in the Lobster Pot, restaurant remains as good as ever. Abundant with local produce. Our meals were cooked to perfection, fresh and delicious. Service was top notch and we were made to feel very welcome and spoilt to be honest. We highly recommend you visit and sample their beautiful food and drinks. I can only see them going from strength to strength with this business, as they truly embrace the “family business model” I recommend the lobster mornay, exquisite. Well done to Ceri and her Team and hope to see you again soon.

Aside from the fantastic service from the young waiter, the food was ridiculously overpriced for poor quality food. Meals came out at different times and food not fresh, some of it cold and parts of it very inedible. A great amount of the menu also wasn’t available to order.

A lovely clean place .in a beautiful setting ... The best thing about ir was the young lad who looked after us . The burger and chips we had was awful ... very disappointing to say the least ! We had to queue outside as the door was locked on arrival , it was cold in there , heating switched on only when we got in , sat in our coats up until food arrived . Will not be going back which is a shame as we live locally .

Found this place a few miles from where we were stopping this week. It was fairly quiet midweek and we ordered the prawn salad (£19) and grilled lobster (£37). Both were delicious but quite pricey. The prawn salad had about a million prawns on it so I was lucky enough the eat up what my wife couldn’t finish. The lobster was quite a good size. Drinks were quite expensive. Overall, lobster, salad, pint of beer and a large wine cost sixty eight quid! The staff were welcoming. I can imagine that it gets absolutely rammed at weekends and during the holiday months but worth a visit if you are happy and able to pay the quote high prices.

What a fabulous restaurant! The location right on Church Bay is perfect and we had a great view from our window table as the sun set. We had the lobster thermidor and sirloin steak, both cooked to perfection and great value for some first-class food. Was recommended a bottled blonde ale, brewed in Holyhead and it was excellent. Staff very lovely, would very much recommend it!

Very Nice food, I had a Lobster Dish, while my wife had the Lamb Shank, but be warned, they dont have any Mint sauce (haha), we also had a very nice desert, make sure to Booked, as we came on a Thursday, and was very busy, also check when they are open' little pricey but worth it

Food nice, atmosphere in conservatory terrible like a brightly lit canteen with a sad rubber plant, lightweight cheap cutlery, slow service, awful looking supermarkey wine glass to go with £40 bottle of wine and the diet coke came in a naff glass no ice or lemon, butter not even in a dish just wrapped and rock solid water marked table, cheap grey bit of linen on table, I wish I had read previous reviews the place is surviving on past reputation and needs some tlc in terms of atmosphere and presentation if it wants to stay on its game. If your looking for a special night I wouldn't bother. Food nice but nothing to make the place particulary special anymore

My parents visited & didn't want to leave a negative review but I felt their review should be shared. They have memories of this restaurant in its hay day which are great memories. That says it all. It's past its hay day. Uncomfortable chairs, old furniture & decor left an uncomfortable impression. My Dad's exact words were if I was asked to give marks out of 10, I'd struggle to give it 5. It needs some attention to outdated decor & furnishings. Cleanliness wasn't top drawer. The dead fly didn't help. The food was OK ( just ok). But you could have lobster in other venues not far away & probably have a better overall experience.

Our first visit to the lobster pot was excellent. We had booked a table for two including our small dog “Pablo the pug”. The reservation system worked perfectly. The table we had in the conservatory offered meant we enjoyed the sunset as we ate. Service was excellent as our drinks arrived early and order taken. The were some items not available, but fully understand the change of menu as the holiday season winds down. Starters of seared scallops and prawn cocktail were beautiful. The mains of lobster risotto and Anglesey platter were also excellent. I made school boy error and had prawn over load as the platter of lobster, crab and prawns was plentiful. As with all these things mixed reviews based on personal preference and perceptions, all I can say is we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Absolutely beautiful meal this evening. The calamari & scallops were stunning followed by grilled lobster. The service was great. A relaxed evening in a stunning setting. No frills just damn good food. This is not a cheap quick fix restaurant you get what you pay for and that’s fresh tasty food served well. Thank you & yes we will be back 🦞🦀🦑🦐

The location excellent and serving staff very good / felt a might pricey for the dishes selected but all good and enjoyed . My query is why are the sandwiches enclosed in a piece of very large baguette difficult to eat maybe a smaller version of bread available / Just a thought

We chose the Lobster Pot for a family meal and what a lovely evening it turned out to be for all. We had a mixture of adults and young children but the staff at the Lobster Pot could not be more accommodating to our requests. The meals were fabulous and the service brilliant. I cannot recommend the Lobster Pot highly enough and we will definitely be visiting the Lobster Pot again in the future.

Very attentive and caring staff. I have sensory issues and they were so kind to find me a table in a nicely lit and quieter room. I was also able to alter my dish a little to suit my dietary needs.
