The Lobster Hut in Fife

On holiday, getting Lobster & Crab from Reilly's. Mail Order from this summer (20% off 1st order), that's what we will use frequently. Pre-Ordered 6 king size Male Lobsters, 1kg crab claws, couple of dressed crabs on impulse. Fiona (Richards wife) was lovely. Lobsters cooked an hour before collection. Magnificient, enjoying with salad, & Presecco later, freezing what we don't eat. £30kg fresh out of the sea, as good as money can buy.

Been going once or twice a year and sometimes been caught out with usually the crab being sold out before I arrive (so lobster plugs the gap very nicely): this time, as I was travelling around Fife by bus, I contacted them first before they opened and they very kindly agreed to put some back for me as I knew with timings I’d be there around 14:00. You can imagine my delight as when I arrived, I noted the ‘crab rolls sold out’ sign, but a quick check revealed my order all bagged-up and waiting for me! Oh happy, happy day! I enjoyed eating them overlooking the sea & harbour from a bench on the terrace - thank you!

Outstanding. Fresh lobster rolls for just 8 quid, stuffed with lobster meat and lobster sauce. Fresh lobsters are 30 pounds per kg, they even cook them for you. You can eat at the pick nick area or take it home. Amazing. totally going back!

Located right at the Crail harbour, small operation and very popular. Get there early. At noon all the crab was gone so I had a lobster roll. £8 is a good price given it’s lobster and it came in a lovely sauce. You can eat on picnic tables or sit on the harbour walls. Really simple and tasty.

Fresh seafood cooked to order. Taste the difference. Great value. Go early as sells out fast and catch is weather dependent

Absolutely amazing place🖤🥰 I have visited today with my 7 years old son on a wee Sunday road trip into the unknown… the lady who served us was an absolute sweetheart and so helpful and kind. Lobster was cooked beautifully and served with all the necessary tools to get the best out of it (picks and claw crackers and lime juice) dressed crab that i have never had before was to die for ! Very reasonably priced too. Yet another wee gem of a place. Left stuffed and most happy

We were staying in Crail for a couple of days, and - based on reviews on here - popped to Reillys for a bite to eat at lunchtime. Lovely service, and some nice seating options around the harbour. We had a lobster roll and a dressed crab - both delicious. Would recommend checking out the tide times before you go, it's nicer when the tide's in!

Brilliant little cabin you could easily miss.. superb fresh dressed crab and crab rolls to die for. Lobsters kept alive in a tank ready for customer selection

Came here with friends and certainly did not disappoint. What a meal. Between us, we sampled the lobster rolls, crab rolls and dressed crab. Absolutely amazing. The lobster was succulent and extremely fresh. There are benches for you to sit around beside the harbour, just be careful of the seagulls though. Great lunch!

Fantastic little place down on the harbour, fresh selection of Lobster to choose from straight from the water into the pot. Plenty of seats around the harbour and you get a tray with lemon, salt and pepper. The guys are really friendly, highly recommended 👌 👍

Came across an old photo of myself brother & sister beaming in front of the hut with a crab. So to come back over 30 years later to see the hut still here was awesome. I had a lobster roll and hubby had a lobster which we both thoroughly enjoyed. It was a dry sunny day so managed to grab a picnic bench, a cheeky wee red wine topped it off

We called in to order a whole cooked lobster en route to see Cambo gardens and arranged collection. Fantastic price for medium lobster for 2 (£15.00) and wow just beautiful, we served it with prawns, salad and homemade marie rose sauce with crusty bread - YUM, Fantastic - lovely, helpful staff - power order and enjoy!!!

If you happen to be in the East Neuk of Fife don’t miss this. We were early for opening so sat on the harbour watching the fishing boats landing their catch. From the boat to the shed .. you won’t get fresher than that !!!!...

Stopped off here just to sample this lobster and wasn't disappointed. We shared one between myself and my partner and it was a fantastic setting also. You can see the lobsters coming straight out of the sea.

Great value for money with many opportunities for seating around the harbour but bring your own wine or shop at the coop first on the Main Street. You can’t get fresher lobster and you can preorder and collect by phone.

Friendly helpful staff, lovely seafood, good value and fantastic harbour setting. Fresh lobster straight out of the tank and cooked for you. Some queueing but moves along quickly and with this backdrop that's no hardship.

Worth a special trip to get Lobster / Crab freshly caught. We bought 4 Lobsters / 2 Crabs, only a few hours old. Phoned through as travelling 48 miles for them! On holiday had one for Lunch whilst there sat outside on a bench. So tasty, cannot buy better. It's a family concern, Andrew's Father & Uncle go out to Sea and he does the running of the Shack. £25 Kilo for Lobster can't argue about that.

首先被Crail Harbour的美麗所吸引，正在猶豫會否專程為它而前往該地呢？再發現到Reilly Shellfish的存在…就這樣決定了這個景點加美食之行。Reilly Shellfish是季節性營業的，前往前建議先聯絡一下確定當天是否營業，以免空跑一場。客人一般也會在Crail Harbour即場進食，環境帶點海水味，由於在戶外，進食期間會遇上些烏蠅前來突襲，但整體來說…難得的場景、新奇、好吃！附近有公共洗手間，吃完清潔雙手沒難度。

We had one dinner a Reilly's but he did not saw us... The dinner was proposed and kept by Graham, our local host at Honeypot after our big big walk from Elie to Anstruther. The lobster and the crabs were purely delicious.

Get there early!! Sells out very quickly. It's seasonal so check before visiting. Prices for lobster and my favourite crab is Fantastic!

Can't believe there is such a lovely lobster place in a quiet remote fishing village. Even on a weekday, the shop was so busy entertaining none stop orders of lobsters by customers whi kept coming from all directions.We picked 2 lobsters of medium size, costing £16 and £18. This is very good value. The lobsters were cooked in the simplest way to preserve the most original taste. This is the best meal we had since we arrived Scotland few days ago.

This is an essential part of a visit to Crail. Succulent, fresh lobster - eaten on the pier; given plates and cutlery, lemon juice etc. Great location at historic harbour.

A great place to get freshly caught Lobster and Crab. It is a take-away place located right on picturesque Crail Harbor. Picnic tables overlooking the harbor create a super setting. We had lobster rolls that were excellent. I wish I had been hungry enough to take on a full lobster.

Fresh lobster or crab. Served simply with lemon. They give it to you on a tray and you find a bench by the harbour wall to eat it at. Regular visitors turned up with cool bags with a wee glass of wine bread and butter, mayo etc. Good idea.

Wanneer we aankomen, is het houten kraampje niet lang meer open. Er is alleen nog maar een krabbenlichaam gevuld met vlees beschikbaar. Heel lekker!

Finally, we arrived when the Lobster Hut was open, and there were still crabs and lobsters available. I enjoyed my first Dressed Crab. My crab shell is now in Spain! Friendly service. Parking nearby. Beautiful location and plenty going on in the harbour.Will return next visit and try the lobster.

We decided to try the Lobster as a unique experience. It doesn't get any fresher than just pulled in from the sea in the morning. We ordered our lobster, and it was steamed and brought to us split in two, complete with plates, napkins and required utensils for eating. We were just there to try it, so this was sufficient for us, as it wasn't our main meal. The lobster was the best that I've ever eaten. Many people came to the hut and ordered their lobster freshly steamed to pick up and take home later.

Always well worth a visit for a fresh lobster or crab roll. They normally only make a limited stock of rolls to keep them fresh so get there early to avoid disappointment. Closed on Monday's.

Eating lobster from the Crail Lobster shack is the very epitome of reducing "food miles", eating local produce and eating fresh. One can select a live lobster for cooking direct from the tank; a lobster that has been caught of the coast of the East Neuk of Fife where Crail harbour sits. The lobster is presented without any fuss . Napkins and cutlery are provided but we brought our own bread, crisps, drinks and dips. The lobster, and in fact crab also, is divine. This is how lobster is meant to be eaten, not served on fancy platters atop of white linen table cloths in London. Great value. Highly recommended.

Ideal place either too snack or purchase shell fish with a lovely view on Crail harbour. This is an ideal pit stop for lunch prices are very good a must if in Crail

What else more, is there to say!?! Get there early is my only advice. The juiciest, freshest and naturally sweetest lobster. I dream of returning back here, every time I leave. Cooked to perfection from the tank, or ready to go, freshly cooked that morning. Worth the short wait if you're luck enough to get a choice. It's an amazing and popular little hut. Dressed Crab was pretty amazing too. (Bring a rain mac as it's even worth getting rained on - note: no indoor tables, just picnic benches by the harbour).
