Stayed here for the night with our 2 teenagers & our dog. Amazing location to go & explore, beautiful scenery & love walks out & about in the peaks. The family room was clean, spacious & had a fab view. The food, all sourced locally, foraged or grown on site was superb. Staff were really helpful, friendly & knowledgeable. Kids lived the animals in the grounds - the pygmy goats were a big hit! It's often not easy to find dog friendly accommodation - this place is perfect for them & they are made very welcome too!

We stayed here for three nights with a dog and a little baby. It was one of the best places we had in England on our vacation. The little mill is very comfortable, apartments are big enough with your family, the people that working here are super friendly and the food was delicious. Definitely coming back once!

I tend to avoid going out for Sunday roast, I always end up disappointed. Not this time! After reading about their provenance of ingredients… all either grown on site or sourced hyper locally it was quite clear this is a team very passionate about good quality food. Seriously stand out food, perfectly cooked, loads of choice, big portions and a good wine menu to go with. I’ve already told everyone I know about it and can’t wait to return soon with friends :)

Well‼️ I was on my way to the “Little Mill” for my Sunday. Lunch and phoned them from the car to tell them I was running a tad late - to be told that my 3 o’clock booking had gone an hour ago!! Silly me - got caught out by missing British Summer Time change - I was too engrossed in my book … Ho-hum; all’s well, they kindly managed to fit me in on a high table in the bar area - pretty comfortable actually - may well request it again. Suffice it to say the staff accommodated my mistake with good humour and generosity – couldn’t fault them - especially as it was Easter Sunday and it was sooo busy! BTW the vegetarian main was to die for - thank you x

Great venue. Most of the staff were fabulous. One older lady though seemed to be having an off day. Sadly, her off handed, aloof approach even when our food had obviously been forgotten about, slightly soured our general experience. However, when the food arrived, it was very good. The grounds feel a little fake now, compared to historically. Plastic flamingos in the stream feeding the water wheel don't enhance the experience IMHO. But still bags of character.

I came here to stay for NYE with my family including our puppy. First when we arrived our puppy got bitten in her face by an aggressive dog in the restaurant - I reported this to the staff but nothing at all was done about it, the guy behind the bar just shrugged his shoulders at me. It was VERY expensive for a 1 night stay, without breakfast. The food was also VERY expensive and not very good quality - the fish batter was tough, garden peas were hard and undercooked and the chips were burnt black. The custard was thick, lumpy and cold. When we got to the room we had to listen to lots of disturbing noises from our neighbours which went on all night. My poor children are traumatised by this awful experience. The playground is extremely unsafe and needs lots of things fixing, it was literally hanging on for dear life. Safe to say we will never return here. And definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

We came with my 90 year old Aunt (in a wheelchair), my parents (76) teen (16) myself and husband. 3 course Christmas Dinner booked for the Saturday before Christmas Eve at 3 o'clock Car park has good disabled bays , road down from the car good, entrance with ramp. Door a little narrow , but accessible with wheelchair. Table ready for the 6 of us, nicely done and Christmas crackers. 4 of us had gone for the 3 course set menu, 90 year old and 16 year old went off menuo , but they were happy to sort, nothing was to much trouble, staff would give 110%!! Took orders, food arrived, starters fabulous. The soup and bread was very tasty and bread warmed.Prawn cocktail was delicious and the spicy balls (can't remember name 🤣) the teen & hubby loved. Then 5 of us had the Christmas lunch .... all I can say is wow. Vegetables cooked to perfection, everything hot, mash so smooth and tasty, turkey was plenty, roasts amazing and for the pigs in blankets beautiful. Asked for an extra gravy boat ( as parents said there is never enough) but really didn't need. My parents had been to a posh hotel in Congleton with my sister and said this meal was so much better than that!! That coming from my mum is high praise indeed!! Staff great, kept asking if all OK, do we need more drinks .... honestly well impressed with the service. Left us some time before desserts came, good job as omg , were truly fabulous, sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce, Christmas pudding, then Apple & cinnamon crumble with icecream. Wow .... hot & we all said how delicious they were. We've not been to this lovely pub for many years. It was cosy with the log fire, inviting, nice Christmas decorations, excellent food and staff. Would HIGHLY recommend, we can't wait to return. And what they have done outside looks fantastic for families, young & old. Hope to return for a Sunday Lunch very soon... Thank you all at The Little Mill xx

Never had a bad experience at this gem of a hidden country inn. We arrived and were warmly welcomed by the staff. Shown to our table, and where we perused the menu. Lots to choose from. My husband had the soup starter,I chose a Cumberland sausage pig in blanket from the sides menu. We both had a roast, mine was a lamb and my husband had a Turkey roast. Both were of excellent quality. Most of the ingredients are locally sourced or grown in the pubs own greenhouse. The choice of desserts makes it hard to pick one over the other, but I was sold as soon as I saw cinnamon apple crumble with vanilla ice cream...delicious.. It's a very relaxed atmosphere in the Mill, and we can't wait to return in the new year.

The restaurant, also a destination for many locals, is particularly good. Probably one of the best dinners of all my English dinners. Ditto for breakfast. This is a nice pub in a lovely location. The outdoor area is absolutely great and the play areas for kids are good; my boy loved the giant slide. There's also some wonderful walks from the pub to work up an appetite which are really good - the staff gave us a printed leaflet with these on which was great. The food was nice, if not lacking in selection (we went on a Sunday and the only real option was Sunday roast. Which is fine, as I do like a roast! But others may find that limiting).Biggest gripe with the food was the roast came with an absolutely pitiful amount of gravy; barely any at all; when we asked for more, they did provide some, but stuck it on the bill at £2 per additional portion - which is nonsense. Sounds pretty but this really annoyed me and brought the place down in my eyes. Either give people enough gravy, or don't charge them for extra. My only other gripe is that the baby change facilities are solely in the ladies toilets. As it's not 1963, this really annoyed me too. It felt really old-fashioned and would mean any men travelling alone with a child basically have no access. This should really be sorted out.Overall though, the food was nice, and the setting was nicer; a couple of annoying things definitely brought it down in my books, but it's still worth a visit.

I booked two large tables for my family, including four kids, on a Sunday - I thought it would be logistically difficult because the largest table there is for ten - but I called and was happily advised to book two tables, as long as it was okay if they were not necessarily close to each other. It’s a good sized pub and was spacious even when fully booked, the service was so friendly and efficient even though we were late and had so many of us, with children moving around a bit. The food was Sunday roast and was just delicious, great portions and Yorkshire pudding as big as my daughter’s head - recommend the cauli cheese and all the meats were perfectly cooked. The roasties were also very tasty, and the greens crunchy. You can tell I loved it with the detail…Even better is the outside - we moved outside to a picnic table with our drinks and the kids loved the playground, craft hut, and exploring the area. Spacious toilets with changing table! Decent parking too.

Food and staff very nice. Pity it isn't nearer to us. Only down side is the narrow lanes near the pub.

Sunday lunch for 6 people was as lovely as ever. 3rd time in a row we've been & had the same excellent quality & service. Good quality food, great portion sizes & friendly staff in a buzzing pub environment. The Sunday lunch had an excellent choice, good quality meat & veg, home made gravy, reasonable price. I can see why it gets fully booked every weekend. Would recommend a visit :)

Booked to eat at the little mill Inn in rowath for me and the wife. I liked the menu even more so when I got the email about my booking. But when we got there the meun was Sunday lunch only and at £16.95 to say I was disappointed dose not come close. The food was cooked beautifully and the scenery was very pleasant.good for ramblers and families

Enjoyed a lovely walk nearby over the Millenium bridge near New Mills with family and found this pub nearby which had good reviews. Was not disappointed, food and service was great! The salt and pepper chicken burger and fish n chips were excellent! Friendly staff and great play area for children with chickens and bunnies too.

After 40+ years of visiting, firstly as a child through to bringing my own children I’m sad to say I won’t be returning. No atmosphere, rude staff, poor service and very disappointing food. According to the management it’s due to rising costs (?) and therefore a take it or leave it policy seems to now be in place. I suggest you leave it.

Met a friend here for lunch with our (nearly) four year olds. The girls had the best time playing on the playground, watching the bunnies and ducks, splashing in the water, going down the slide…outdoor seating was perfect to keep an eye on them while we sat in the sun. And the food, as always, was delicious. I had a gluten free haloumi burger and chips which were scrumptious!!

Saturday my wife and I (plus dog) made our way across the threshold seeking respite from what had been a challenging ramble up hill and down dale. With ever increasing appetite and thirst we approach the bar to check food was still on offer. Warmly we we acknowledged with the affirmative but better still we learned that we would be welcome to dine inside! It had been so windy, and we 3 were shown to a charming table with a corner bench for us 3. The steak and Guinness pie was gorgeous, the best greens I have ever been presented and a mushroom and halloumi burger my wife has positively set in folklore. But best of all was a delicately poached pear with rum and raisin ice cream, delicious. The management team and staff were all so welcoming that we found ourselves almost too comfortable and it took considerable effort to raise ourselves to leave. Thank you all we will definitely return and soon rather than later I hope. Liam, Vicki and Primrose

A group of nine of us ate at the Little Mill, it was a great experience. Everything was excellent, the service and the food. The staff were excellent and very attentive, the manager/landlady checked on us a couple of times, which I thought added that extra care.Although the menu is small, the choices were varied. Although the food tasted fresh and very well presented.I will be going again.
