Order and then collect when your buzzer lets you know it’s ready. Sat on the harbour wall with our cod/scampi and chips. Plentiful portion - hot and tasty!

We saw this place when staying for a week and having read reviews about the food decided to save it until the last day & it was definitely a case of saving the best till last. This place does more than just fish and chips with other dishes including prawns, squid & whitebait. I had cod & chips with a side order of chilli & mango prawns my wife had the seafood platter which was a an amazing mixture of seafood including, fish, squid, prawns & scampi with chips too. The quality was excellent the portions very generous & the chilli & mango prawns were every bit as good as they sounded. If you are wanting fish & chips or something a little different in New Quay then this is the best place to go.

Superb every time. Eaten here before and always enjoyed the Cod n Chips. Decided as a treat to try the Lemon Sole and chips... Outstanding. Light crispy batter, no bones, and chips cooked to my taste. Slice of lemon and tartar sauce too. Sat on the patio area. Absolutely wonderful.

Visited twice on our recent trip. Food and service were excellent on both occasions. Good value and good portions, all food is cooked to order and very tasty. Served with tartar sauce and a wedge of lemon. All fish (cod and seafood platter) was very fresh and top quality. A definite must visit in this town.

Ordered the special which was lemon sole and chips at lunchtime. Food cooked to order so the wait wasn’t an issue at all. Like the way they give out devices that beep when food is ready. However the chips were awful. They tasted as if they were leftovers from the previous day and reheated. Not good at all. Then the lemon sole tasted off and didn’t eat it. Overall a very unpleasant and expensive experience having paid £12.50.

I had the BBQ Pulled Pork with chips and my wife had the seafood platter with chips. Both meals were delicious- thus is a top class takeaway.

Really friendly staff, and amazing chippies. They do serve Vegan chips but make sure to ask first as they cook them to order.

I like they have the classics but they also have some things you don't usually see in a regular fish and chip shop. Chips were crispy and fluffy and the batter was crunchy and not overly greasy.

NEW Quay seafront restaurant. Food to order.. we had cod and chips with scallops . The batter was so crispy ..def worth a shout. Parking is hard to find but before April there appears to be no restrictions. & there's dolphin watch boats you can charter on the harbour .. a good day's activities

The best fish & chips in a very long time... I'm sorry but why can't all fish and chip shops be a great as this one!! Very helpful, friendly staff, especially when asking about gluten free options for a member of our party who is coeliac. So many gluten free options and all cooked in a separate fryer. When food is cooked it is also stickered Gf for clarity. Excellent and so rare to find. My daughter was so very happy to eat delicious fish and chips and fried Halloumi. The fish was beautiful, curry sauce is a must and the chips were pretty great too.. Keep up the good work Lime crab, would recommend highly to anyone visiting New Quay.

Best chip shop I've ever seen. Great food and many choices, it's a must go to when in Newquay. Normal choices of fish, pie and sausage and then there's the halloumi 😀

Literally the tastiest for gluten free and so much selection. For the first time in years i had fried halloumi! I also had chips and cod bites. Well worth a visit if you're in the area and reasonable prices too. It's at the bottom by the harbour area so has good views and lots of outdoor seating

When staying in New Quay this is our go to Fish and Chips. Online order is so easy. Best fish and chips in New Quay possibly the best in West Wales Gluten free options available as well.

We have been looking for a choppy which caters for Gluten Free, having tried a few in the area, the Lime Crab came up trumps. Nothing a problem, all staff clued up on GF, even got GF vinegar. Food absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for GF.

Ordered here twice. First order just chips, second fish and chips. Chips were crispy on first order. On second order, they weren't, but fish was crispy. Second order placed end of day near to closing, but would have appreciated if the chips could've been made crispy - don't know how it's done, maybe refried? It does make a big difference. Fish was excellent. Had Dover sole in batter. Really hot inside and crispy outside. Could tell it was made fresh.

Really delicious food. We had the sea bass and the halloumi and it was all fresh and hot. Was served quickly by a lovely friendly girl and enjoyed sitting in their fenced off area to eat it outside. Would highly recommend.

Topnotch cod with non soggy chips, and lots of it. Tartare sauce and lemon come as standard too. Staff are helpful and cheerful, and there's even a view over the harbour from the outside seating area. Seaside chippies seldom come as good as this.

Firstly they charge 60p for a small tub of chilli sauce and charge 30p for small tub of mayo I have never been to a chip shop that charges more for a different cold dipping sauce they are all the same price just didn't make sense other issue Is that they don't even have a bin and expect you to take your rubbish with you and carry it over the road to bin in a industrial bin just to much messing about for people with children or carrying alot of things already

Best Cod and Chips I have had for a long time, possibly ever. My wife and I shared a single portion and it was enough for a light lunch. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Definitely going again before we head home.

What a fantastic take away this is. I had Cypriot Halloumi and chips, my husband had Seafood Platter and chips. It was all cooked to perfection. My hubby said "Its restaurant quality food" We didn't have to wait in a queue, and only approx 5 minutes for our food to be cooked. The lady serving was friendly and efficient. There is nowhere better to eat in Newquay for us now.

Food was what you’d expect from a fish and chips shop but the price or service is not. Went in for fish and chips but after seeing the price we downgraded to sausage. After that disappointment me then had to wait 25 minutes . God help the place If it was busy, 4-5 staff and still couldn’t manage a quiet shop. Also no bins which is a bit of joke. Never again

Food lovely, but confused on the pricing £10.50 for Cod and Chips but £5.50 for Battered Sausage and Chips, the most typically ordered item from a Fish and Chips but over charged makes sense

Definitely would recommend here, reasonably priced for what you get 👍 they do gluten free which is really helpful for some individuals. The lady was very helpful because she advised me that although the fish and meat products were cooked in the same oil , if I asked for a gluten free fish they would cook it separately. The gluten free fish batter isn't as nice in my opinion but it was a halal option for me , so that causes me to think very highly of this shop! 😀 would have been a 5star review if there had been a clear divide between the people ordering and the people waiting...it was a little squashed with just a few tables to sit down but I guess that wasn't anyone's fault as it was just due to space....overall I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely buy from here if I visit new quay.

As returning summer visitors we came to The Lime Crab for Fish and chips for our wedding anniversary as a family last Wednesday. We sat at the tables on their side terrace having ordered a range of meals from the menu. The chips were lovely, but the batter on my gluten free Fish was thick leathery and tough which was disappointing considering we paid so much for our order and the occasion we were celebrating. That said, we would return as its rare to find gluten free Fish and chips in the area and we've previously had lovely food here. Could they have been having an off day? Let's hope so!

Often at the seaside fish and chips can be sub par boring and greasy, none of these were the case at the lime crab. The service was efficient and we were given a buzzer to wait for our order to be ready, after a short wait it went off, we collected from the side window where salt and vinegar were available to add if wanted. A reasonable portion of hot fresh chips was in every box alongside our crispy battered choices. The seafood platter was brilliant, crispy squid, cod bites, scampi, panko breaded king prawns and some fish goujons, everything was cooked perfectly and the batter on the cod was exceptional. Price wise, we averaged at just over £11 per person, including a can of drink each, so not unreasonable given the portion sizes and the cost of fish and chips in any town.

We always visit here most years on holiday in New Quay. Food is fantastic quality and lots of gluten free options. A huge plus for us. Seating is limited though if you want to sit down but seating is great with beautiful views if you can get a seat. Only negative for us is although so many gluten free options there is no gluten free curry sauce which we love which other chip shops do. But overall we love this place.
