Agree with a reviewer about tourist trappish..looks nice and lights and boat bar give it tourist appeal Definitely wouldn’t say FRIENDLY staff .. more functional .. drinks expensive .. food ok .. would maybe come again …but only after I’ve tried everywhere else ! See they don’t reply to reviews which always gives me a red flag “can’t be bothered as long as we get the money in “ Could be outstanding with more welcoming staff, sensible prices. Maybe it was wrong season to see some life in the place .. but it is Easter week !

We had a lovely lunch today . Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. Scampi very good and generous portion ! The staff were really lovely and very helpful . Great music playing . Clean and bright , roses on the tables , altogether great experience.

We had the fish and chips and, in my opinion, was the best I've ever had. Oh, and I've had a few in my time, staff great and helpful, a must try.

We had lunch here as a family. The menu has a variety of choices. They have also got a basic kids menu. It was busy as we visited on a bank holiday, but they were still able to accommodate us and we didn't wait too long for food, which was great. Staff are friendly and food was great!

No guesses as to why it is called The Lifeboat Tavern! The bar is made from an old lifeboat and the whole decor is very interesting. Only one hand pump unfortunately, but it had a fantastic local beer on, so that was great.

Disinterested staff let down the boat ambience

Visited Sat 2nd March, excellent service, food fantastic and such great value. Fish & chips 1st class and seafood medley of prawns, calamari,scampi with chips delicious. Will definately return and would recommend.

Been here a few times over the years. Waited for two ladies to finish being served as you do. Then started ordering our food and drinks. Only to tell the lady I only ordered two pints of carling and a cider. It's not for u . No it was for the men who had come behind me. Poor service topped with a flat pint and Luke warm stake. Worst £ 75 I've ever spent.

Lovely place. We have been 4 times now over the past 3 years and the staff are very friendly, food is great, very generous portions but also very tasty. We'll definitely return again when we are in the area.

Mediocre food. Standard cocktails. Odd customer service almost like some ex criminals or Russians run the place. Unlawfully no prices on any menus, overly high price. Just like a tourist trap.

Terrible service, popped in a couple of times and were completely ignored. Drinks are also insanely expensive - £12.95 for a cocktail is outrageous, especially when down the road the same ones are being sold for £9!

We came here for lunch on a very stormy Saturday after searching Tenby for pubs and decided this looked the most inviting menu wise. I had a pint of Madri and the Lifeboat Tower burger, whilst my girlfriend had a Baileys Hot Chocolate and Chilli Jacket Potato. These came to something like £46 which on paper is expensive. However the food and drinks were of exceptional quality, to the point we returned the next day, driving 25 minutes to get there in the middle of Storm Isha. I had the burger again and a pint of Staropramen, whilst my girlfriend joined me in having a burger and drank a Rekordelig. There’s a large range of foods and drinks available but I’d especially recommend the burger!

Lovely place to pitstop for lunch on a Monday afternoon… two meals, two drinks.. £36… staff friendly.. place clean.. really enjoyed our time here..

Went there for drinks and thought we try the food. So glad we did, loved every mouthful. Between us we had the steak, fish, gammon and scampi and everyone loved it. Highly recommend

Nice pub with decent food and reasonable price

Traveling for work looking for good food about 8pm on a Wednesday in Tenby. Then this is the place for you, a bright and cheerful tavern, a bar shaped like a boat made of wood. Great menu selection I had the fish and chips with peas and salad, piping hot food, portion size far too much for me and I have big portions. Full of flavour served in good time amongst several other orders. A couple I meet there had the big burger and lasagne meals along with a scientific of larger and cocktails and raved about it. Will definitely go back Highly recommended A my meal and,a pint £21 Great value especially when other places had stopped serving food Enjoy

Don’t get me wrong the service was lovely and polite! But the food was IMO very expensive for such poor quality & tasted terrible, keeps repeating on us and it appears to be leading to poorly tummies!

We turned up to have prep ghost tour drinks on a horrendously rainy night with 2 dogs to be told that we were only allowed to sit out side, not particularly cozy with the wind and rain on our October break. So we decided to venture over the road where we were welcomed with a smile and table where we sat inside and enjoyed a few drinks and food. The lifeboat needs to reconsider the dog policy, as we weren't the only customers who felt uncomfortable and at least 5 other people walked out within the few minutes we were in the premises. They need to reconsider the dog policy. No one should be expected to told to sit outside on an October evening just because they have dogs.

Great food even if a bit pricey for a rugged kind of pub. Staff was a bit rude when we visited, but got everyone's good right.

We had avoided this bar due to unfavourable reviews. However, we wished we’d visited for lunch earlier. Staff were welcoming, the front of the pub was old fashioned and cosy, and the food was excellent - and good value. Couldn’t fault our lunch experience.

Really untasty deep fried food for expensive cost, not overly friendly staff, no table check backs to see if food was okay my lunch tasted really bad that I sent it back and I'm not usually fussy, table next to us also complained should of gone to Gregg's

Disappointing lunch here today. Cawl with crusty bread which was actually 2 slices of slice supermarket bread. Sandwich was also supermarket bread which was fairly stale. Prawn sauce was very runny.. chips were nicely cooked thou. Expensive for what it actually was

Amazing Food, plenty on the plate to the point we could not finish all the food, when they say fish on steroids they are not joking it was huge. Fast service by it is out of season, if you are visiting in the summer surely you should understand there are going to be delays, I couldn’t fault the staff or the food, we have eaten here 2 nights running, believe me I would not go back if it was awful, the bar looks great as well

Bought a round of drinks, Saturday night and two were clearly short measures. Watched the barmaid deliberately not allow the optic to fully refill after ordering a double of Malibu and of Gin. Nice little earner for them.

Ordered 2 kids meals, the burger made lay by food vans look like Michelin star establishments. It really wasn't great for the £9 price except a good amount of chips. No complaints about our madri lagers. I saw people next to us order the fish and chips and it looked huge but when they cleared their table they left alot so probably just mostly batter!

Called in here as part of a family meeting one evening. The place was very busy but we managed to find tables at the back. Although we only had drinks, I was staggered to see the size of some of the portions of food that went past us. Bar service was perfectly acceptable. Not the place to go for a quiet drink and reflection.

Sometimes I will visit a place and see whether I can hold my breath for longer than 30 seconds and then shout SMOOK !! The Lifeboat Tavern was the tops !! Managed 42 seconds !! The band was awesome .. believe they were called Crispy Ambulance. All of the audience were on their feet(apart from one person who bore a passing resemblance to Peter O’Toole) What a great day out!!!!

3 adults & 1 kids meal, 3 bottles of coke and a pint of coke for £72!!! Definitely not worth the money. Whenever we visit Tenby, we always stop for lunch at the Lightboat. Today was no different. What's normally 1st class food had dropped considerably! What used to be pretty much half a golden battered whale for the fish and chips, it looked like a burnt jumbo sausage left under the halogen lamps in a warm bowl of grease. My burger was just a grease patty with rings of deep fried grease and slices of pink grease. The best thing about it was the brioche bun! My youngest daughters dinner was non existent as they forgot her order altogether. Had to wait 20 minutes extra for rapidly burnt grease nuggets and just an meaningless "sorry for the wait". The saving grace was my eldest girls meal. She had the chicken platter. That was the only meal worth paying the £16 cost. Chicken goujouns and popcorn chicken were cooked perfectly. I have no idea what's happened, but we certainly won't be going there next time. Also £2.70 for a pint of coke and £3.10 for a little bottle of coke is also laughable.

Don't waste your time going here if you are a dog owner. Sign on door says dog friendly and I asked the bar staff where dogs are allowed. Was told that dogs allowed anywhere so we ordered drinks and started looking at the food menu. 2 minutes later got told by another staff member that dogs not allowed inside and that we had to leave even though we still had our drinks at the table untouched! Found a lovely chippy down the road which is dog friendly and much better treatment from staff.

Awful experience today at the Lifeboat Tavern. Seen on the door that they are dog friendly so went in. Asked at the bar where dogs allowed on site and was told dogs are allowed anywhere. Bought a round of drinks and sat at a table to be told by another staff member that dogs are not allowed inside and we had to move. Considering it was raining had no choice but to leave and find somewhere else to eat and leave our drinks. Won't be returning at all and wouldn't recommend if you have your dog with you.

Live music on Friday evening - recommended! The pub is packed, the whole place is singing along. Great atmosphere!

Visited here at 7pm on a Fri night with my son. I had the fish which was huge and came with peas and loads of chips. My son had the burger with chips. I had a pint an my son had a glass of coke. Meals were nice but nothing special. Probably wudnt go again. No real complaints except all the sauces were in sachets . Came to just over £40.

I wouldn’t even bother! Food is all frozen and deep fried. Nothing exciting on the menu. Food is over priced. Most expensive place of the holiday and worst meal!

I've visited this place many times over the years and I always leave the pub thinking I've spent too much there.... the food is as good as any pub in tenby. The fish is huge that comes with the fish and chips. It's always busy, which can be annoying if you're unfortunate enough to be sat near all the foot fall. The drinks are really expensive, 13 pounds for one cocktail!!!! There's no prices anywhere on the menus for cocktails. For the price I'd expect something fancy ( like the washroom in Manchester) but no. They were really basic drinks - see pics. They claim that their cocktails are the best in town. THEY ARE NOT! ....A bar called The Cove just a few hundred metres away does the best and cheapest cocktails. Go there for food and drinks. See my review on the cove for pics. It's my last time visiting this pub, it's too expensive and I must remember to read my own review in a years time when I'm back to make sure I stay clear.

Pricey; £26 for 2 run of the mill, garnish deprived cocktails (I've paid less for Champagne in the bar at Harrods). If it's cocktails you're after, visit The Cove. Two for one between 5 and 7, Sunday to Friday. Beautifully presented and cheaper than the Lifeboat, even at full price.

Terrible experience, poor quality food for the price, foods is brought out past the toilets which absolutely stank of toilet blocks. Never again

The staff were very ignorant, not very welcoming....Had lasagne , been heated up too much which had dried out , chips were frozen and tasteless , just all to big on the plate... ..My husband had Nachos , which was a mess on the plate...

This pub offers excellent value for money. Menu is typical pub menu but the food wfar excelled what a typical pub would offer. The meals were delicious. I had the chicken tikka masala with half and half rice and chips, the sauce tasted freshly made...

The food was good but the portions were too large for my husband and me, the fish and chips was fantastic. We either had a children's meal or we shared a meal between us. The service was very good too.

Good pub friendly staff food ok but far to many frozen chip on plate to make it look like value fir money

Food was nice but awful service. We ordered 6 cocktails spread over the course of an hour and as we went to order 4 more after we had finished our meal we were told that we are ordering too many cocktails to our table and we weren’t allowed any more. Never had that from a bar before. I think they need more practice at making cocktails if it’s such an inconvenience to them. The man and woman serving were visibly and verbally annoyed at us ordering drinks.. incompetent bar with rude staff. If you don’t want us ordering cocktails take the menus off the table, the pictures of cocktails off the wall in the toilet and the signs everywhere or.. learn how to do your job.

I’ve been visiting tenby ever since I was a kid and have been going into the lifeboat for as long as I can remember. However this visit was awful. There was a large group of us (10 in total, a dog and 2 babies within that group of 10 though) The food was nice I give credit where credits due however the cocktail menu had no prices on and when ordering I was told they weren’t serving cocktails anymore as it takes them too long to make them. Staff were rude and told us to our faces they hated making cocktails, I could understand if the cocktails were cheap but at roughly £40 for 3 cocktails you’d of thought they’d be happy with that. However they were happy to advertise there cocktail menu! We constantly felt like we were doing wrong with ordering these cocktails and upon leaving an elderly couple had told us they had been slagging off our table as we were sat outside. Absolutely awful customer service, if I wanted to be abused whilst I drank / ate I’d visit Karen’s diner. Shall not be returning.

Popped in after birthday meal elsewhere. Fancied a cocktail or two to finish night off. Plenty of selection. BUT £13, which is not mentioned or displayed anywhere. London prices. Deffo won't be back there.

Steak was overcooked and chicken burger was absolutely tiny for the price. Easily say that it was £50 wasted.
