OMG, found this little diamond of a place completely by accident, the lad found us a table on Mother’s Day, for myself and my partner, the beef was amazing, atmosphere was relaxed, cannot fault this place at all. Best Sunday roast in Northampton, keep up the good work guys 👍

Small cosy pub , went there for a roast dinner on Sunday and it didn't disappoint! Very tasty! Good selection of drinks too.

I was a walk in on a Sunday and they really were lovely to accommodate for me as a solo diner. They found me a discreet table out of the way and I was checked on when the food came regarding the service . The roast came out in good time, the veg was nice , I wouldn't have minded a bit more stuffing though . The server was lovely in asking if I needed condiments or a drink. £16 for a Sunday chicken roast, pretty premium price

This is where Northampton Tades Council first met in 1888/9 when it was called the Overstone Arms. A beautiful Victorian pub.

Good music and good beers 🍻 what more could you want

First time eating here. Food was very good, they had run out of garlic bread which was a bit shocking as it was Saturday. We both had pie, very good food, requested more gravy, not an issue. We both had desserts which seemed like they were home cooked. Good service all round and I hear the Sunday Dinners are amazing so will try them too. We will be back.

Terrible frozen food. My fish and chips was hard and the fish had a thick piece of rock hard cartilage in it. Vile

Have not tried the food but its normally got a fair number of diners in. Size is good two floors of tables.

First time in; very impressed; looks like a really good pub == March, 2023 == came here for an evening meal with my 8 year old son - had a really nice experience. Food was good; staff weer helpful; really good.

Very nice and well priced Sunday roast. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Great range of beers and lagers. Wife had a double espresso martini to finish her meal which she raved about. A really enjoyable dining experience Only slight negative is that they had run out of two of the listed sweets on the menu despite it being only 1600 on a Sunday

What a great pub. Arrived after a 3 hour drive for a much needed pint before heading to the roadmenders for a gig. Pint was good and we were hungry. Told the kitchen closes in 10 minutes so we ordered a roast and was seated immediately, great roast dinners appeared after about 15 mins. Amazing. Great friendly staff too. My second visit and if ever in Northampton I’ll be going there again. Sorry this is a bit gushing but so used to dreadful London pubs this made a nice change. Thanks guys!!

Great pub with excellent food including options for vegan and gluten free diets, great choice of drinks and friendly staff. Plenty of atmosphere to enjoy a day or night out!

Serve Duvel. That’s a win in my book. And staff good and friendly too. Live music and looks like they have lots of vegan options, which means this pub is great.

Enjoyed the night. Flat James was a great DJ and the atmosphere was on point.

Only a quick stop but enjoyed it very much. Quick but friendly service and live music was playing, making it busy but everyone was happy! Plenty of space for standing and sitting.

OMG!!! Simply the BEST Sunday roast in Northampton. I'm a veggie and the Roast did not disappoint, it was soooo taste, and there was a mountain of food! Great service too, our person took the time to understand our dietary requirements. We'll def be back

Nice atmosphere and really nice seating area out back - with heaters! especially good in winter. Always good friendly service too.

Dropped in here on the way to the fireworks for a couple of drinks. What a fab pub. Great staff, the food people were eating looked fab (and smelt yummy) and a really bustling atmosphere. Will definitely be back and will eat next time. A rare find. Keep doing what you're doing. You can tell the staff get on, and that always makes for a good experience as a customer.

The best pub for food in the town centre in my opinion. The food is fantastic, staff are friendly and helpful and they have a great selection of vegan and vegetarian options if you have someone in your party who requires them.

Got to go to this boozer, its probably the best pub in Northampton

I threw a party here and the room/food/ drinks were so great! the staff were so accommodating and helped me with everything i asked, even when showing me round when I first went to look they were so lovely and answered all my questions! Will definitely be back!

£6.60 for 2 halves of lemonade, absolute rip off. Nice pub though.

Great drink & food, kind service. They offer different special menus on Tuesdays, food is well made. Thy have a courtyard where you can sit and enjoy fresh air. They also have a good selection of beverages.

We had the best time at The Lamplighter!!! Especially on the Saturday when the 2 bartender ladies serving us. The place is like a hidden gem of Northampton. People are super friendly here. My partner had Steak & Ale pie listed on the special board menu. I had Dirty burger which I really enjoyed it so much with their skinny fries - would highly recommend it. The drinks were top-notch, one of my most favourite Passionfruit martinis. I was also pleased that they were able to make such tasty White Russian by request as it is not even on the menu!! Overall, they easily deserve 5 stars. Keep up the good work guys.

We came to you because my friend found excellent reviews and suggested we met there for dinner and a drink. We were incredibly impressed with the selection of food and drinks. Also the staff and chef were a credit to the establishment. Congratulations on an excellent business.

The Lamplighter keeps its beers very well. It has a well deserved reputation for the Sunday lunch. We tend to go on Thursdays because they do a deal on their burgers which are soft and very meaty.

Staff super friendly. Great selection of drinks including good, craft beers. Not just your generic lagers. Food is great and they have a brilliant little pub garden

It's a very English pub/restaurant with occasional live music. Food is great, hot and good portions. The place isn't massive so, book in advance. Parking is recommended at St.Michael road council run car park (check times).

Doesn't look impressive from outside. Went there Sat evening when there was a 10 year anniversary party going on. I wasn't expecting a lot because of the party but couldn't have been more wrong, the young, slim dark haired server took us upstairs was very polite and helpful, I loved the decor upstairs, the food and service were amazing, nothing was too much and we were checked on regularly even though the pub was very busy. We will definitely go back and would recommend. We have had Sunday roasts there, again they were lovely

My local, a lovely pub, well managed with excellent staff who go out of their way to make your visit special. The food is also very good and great value. Would highly recommend.

Atmosphere is always good. Late afternoon coffee, great service from friendly staff.

It was over crowded and the average age of people was maybe 50.

We came here for Sunday dinner after more good recommendations than I can remember - and I have to say the high praise was well warranted! I can easily say that all the staff there were lovely, the food was gorgeous (sorry for the lack of main’s picture, I was too excited to eat it to get one lol) The entire experience was amazing and we’ll definitely be coming here again - p.s Thankyou again chef(s) I’m one happy girl

The pub is at the bottom of our road, we were looking for somewhere to go Christmas eve and had an enjoyable evening here.

Thanks to all at the Lamplighter for a great Christmas Party on Friday 2nd December. They catered for 24 of us and the food was served all at the same time and was very good. Quality beer, a lovely dining area, excellent bar area and great fun with the disco and really, really friendly staff. Everyone had a great time. Well done The Lamplighter. Top marks.

Their vegan tapas Tuesdays are delicious! You'd might not know it's vegan if you weren't told, I am delighted every time I come. I try to dine here whenever I'm in Northampton. The staff are very friendly and well known. I have yet to try their roast dinner but apparently it's the best🥰

I love this place. Always tasty food and a good atmosphere. I go for the vegan option every time and it never disappoints. They have live music some weekends and DJ's and themed nights. One of the best pubs in Northampton.
