The Kitchen in Omagh

We called in for lunch and received a warm welcome. Staff are friendly and attended us well, without overdoing it. Decor is beautiful and maintained. Food choices were more than I expected, a lot of nice meals to pick from. We ordered chicken satay dish and chicken curry with the kitchen chips. Two clean plates proved how good it was. Very enjoyable lunch. Thank you

Went for brunch one weekday. Wonderful atmosphere in a well decorated setting. You can't help but notice the attention to detail (check out the teaspoons for example!) Each option on the menu has been carefully designed and you can't help but look around at the wonderful choices other people are having. I'm 100% confident that whatever you order you will not be disappointed. All reasonably priced and you are buying quality. Everything is supported by Kate and her superb team who are on hand and highly attentive. Wife and I are already trying to arrange childcare so that we can go back and try something else. Thanks!

Drove from Sligo. So glad we did. The friendliness is the first thing you notice, even before you sit down. Kate is like a friend you see now and again, but treats you like family. Then you move onto the food which was fantastic, both had Burritos. I have to say I will be driving back again soon. Couldn’t recommend a better place for either just a Coffee or a meal.

There’s often a queue outside but it’s worth the wait! New premises are lovely, friendly staff and outstanding food. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! Highly recommend the “nuts about chicken” and the wagu burger.

Delicious late lunch in the new venue in high Street. We had beef burrito and chicken curry both of which were delicious. Very tasty and super portion lunch sizes. We had to queue for a while and it took about an hour from sitting down to finishing our meal, but it was well worth the wait If you want fast food go to McDs If you want gorgeous food, cheerful staff and pleasant surroundings come to the Kitchen.

We love this place been a few times and look forward to trying at the new location. The food is beautiful, such a treat each time and really love this place. The only thing was the warmth of the place. The fire was on in the back corner and we were very warm. Luckily jugs of water helped but maybe best to turn heat down a tad, this wasn't at the heat wave time this was in cooler time this year but i gues its prob hard to please everyone heat wise.

Good food, but very slow service, waited 40mins after ordering for food to arrive. Was later back to work. Not suitable for lunch break.

I am vegetarian and find it difficult to get anything imaginative to eat in Omagh, on the rare occasion that I visit. No such trouble in The Kitchen - they have a very imaginative and varied menu with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The ingredients are good and the dishes healthy and the portions substantial. They take allergies seriously too, even when it’s an unusual but serious one like mine (avocado). Friendly and efficient service in gorgeous surroundings

This is one of the best cafes/restaurants in Omagh if not the best. The food is always delicious, piping hot and full of flavour. The buzz in the kitchen is always loud and that's people enjoying themselves and chatting not on the phone but to eachother. Service is always excellent and staff polite. Very varied and healthy freshly cooked menu. Thanks we will keep returning!!!

Beautifully balanced meal with lots of amazing flavours, you will have a short wait for your food but when your waiting on perfection who cares and the staff are attentive but not on top of you and you have your own space. This lovely little restaurant is a credit to omagh town and definitely well worth a visit.

Visited here with friends and I found the service was very slow was over 30 mins between ordering to getting served breakfast. Tea order was 15 mins to get delivered. Staff were really friendly and we stayed chatting with friends for 3 hours chatting and eating tea and buns after our breakfast. Postives- the food was really excellent quality, staff friendly, very clean and baby friendly. Negatives - slow service and very rigid to breakfast time as we had one of our party running late and she had to order from lunch menu which didn't start until 12 10. Would definitely go again.

The Kitchen is our go to place in Omagh mostly enjoying their brunches though occasionally having lunch. The food is of exception quality and they are the only place in agh that provides plenty of vegetables and caters well for vegetarian and vegan. Service can be slow so keep it in mind. For larger groups they will take bookings

Service very poor, everything seemed to be a bother, asked for kids menu, didn’t have one or couldn’t find one, so told us what was on it! Really disappointed as my daughter loves to look at the menu and pick from it. Overall food was lovely but let down by the poor service.

Popped in for breakfast after a recommendation and the food did not disappoint! The waffles (technically just a waffle) was delicious especially the homemade chocolate spread and portion size was perfect. Service was attentive, decor lovely, the only reason I haven’t given 5 star is because the social distancing wasn’t fantastic - tables were far enough apart from each other but being in a walkway meant people constantly brushing past us.

We ordered lunch to take away today from this restaurant .The food was delicious and the service was first class. Will definitely return to eat in. Can not recommend it highly enough.

Phoned in morning. Told couldn't reserve table but to turn up and we'd either get a table no problem or with a small wait. Arrive at time I tried to reserve and get told it's an hours wait. Waste of time driving out of my way to get there. Why not let us reserve in advance?

I visited this place while waiting for my partner to finish work. I ended up being there for about 3 hours. I got the sour dough stack and then I got the peanut butter ball. He arrived when the lunch menu had started he got the Yankee burger. Everything was divine and reasonably priced. The coffee was perfect. The staff were lovely and the place was comfortable and relaxed.

What a fantastic place. Highly recommended we drove up from Lurgan this morning for the park run at Omagh. One of our friends from omagh took us here for Breakfast, well it did not disappoint, from the moment the 6 of us walked in we were made welcome. The staff got us a table after 10 mins, witch gave us time to shop in the health food store joined to the restaurant. Breakfast was fabulous choices from from vegetarian to vegans to bacon, sausage, egg, 10 out of 10

I had eaten before in the kitchen for breakfast so hoped lunch would be fine. I ordered a vegetarian salad the waitress couldn’t really tell me what was in it but I thought I’d give it a go. It was awful very spiced which I can’t eat & no dressing on the salad I left all of it & picked out the blueberries the only thing I could eat. I find some of the staff not very helpful so won’t be returning it is also very overpriced

We went here on Thursday 5th December at around 1:30. When we went in we seen the sign ‘wait here to be seated’ so we waited and we waited for at least 20 minutes before someone acknowledged that we were there, then when the girl did see us just asked how many it was for. We must’ve waited for at least 30 minutes before we were seated even though there were a few tables that came free. Very understaffed and initially unfriendly. There were only 2 people working 1 at the coffee counter and that is were you stand and the other serving the tables. The place was busy and all the tables were filled which is a good sign. Once we got to a table we give our order very quickly and there was a lovely menu with lots of lovely healthy options. We both got the chick pea burger with avocado and it was lovely. By the end of our visit the staff had redeemed themselves! Not sure if I would visit again and defin would need more staff and people to make you feel welcome when you first go in!

After asking a local instagram blogger for a local breakfast option we headed towards the kitchen. Not from the area i didn't want to waste time searching. The menu was plentiful, i chose the stack and it was to die for. I highly recommend. They also make all natural traybakes; the snickers is to DIE for. Ill be making the journey again soon just for the breakfast. Was absolutely fab

Shockingly understaffed today at lunchtime, it took 5 minutes for one of the girls to finally acknowledge me while I stood waiting for a table and she was barely polite. The staff looked stressed, their faces said it all and as a result were rude. 3 elderly ladies beside me were also asking about the delay in food (they said they'd been there an hour), they even paid before getting their lunch as it was taking that long and we're clearly unhappy that they'd been forced to sit on the high stools by the door (which is the worst place to sit as it's baltic) When mine arrived I asked for a take out box as 40 minutes for a flat bread is not acceptable. (Please note that the ladies beside me followed suit) . Not one word of apology from the girl on the til either for what was probably the worst experience I've had in your establishment. She actually seemed defiant. Also: £7 for a flatbread and salad?! Aye. Utterly woeful. Management, take note.

We visited on Sunday 10th November. Interior is unique and quirky with personality, cosy with a fire in the corner which was so homely, loved that touch.Sunday menu was quite small, unsure if they have differing menus? Despite this there are a number of vegetarian options, which can also be made vegan. I went for the vegetarian sourdough option, Which took a bit of time to arrive however we didn’t mind as were not in a hurry. it was truly delicious, but I felt the portion was very small for £5.50. One small slice of bread on a bed of lettuce with very small egg, avacado and feta cheese with a salsa. Perhaps If there had of been just another slice of sourdough I would have felt more satisfied? A little bite more and it would have been perfect!Staff were very friendly, chatty and helpful, we felt very comfortable. The young lad said he had Only recently started. Refreshing to have pleasant, enthusiastic staff! The selection of sweet goods were on display when we arrived, and looked delicious however we didn’t get to sample as they had been packed away by time we finished our meal. We will most definitely return on our next visit to Omagh, And will recommend to others.

We dropped in for lunch early Wednesday and ordered the vegan salads. Tasty good. Filled us up for the day. Lovely location with parking.

Turned out we were in a bit of a rush today when we called for Brunch. The place has been done up in recent months and my mum would nearly call it fancy!.

The menu claims to identify all allergies but it is not correct, e.g. buttermilk chicken claims not to contain dairy. Be extra cautious when ordering.

I had only high hopes for The Kitchen but will say I won’t be returning. I ordered a Caesar salad however what came was not what was described on the menu and upon telling the waitress about the problem she replied ‘oh okay’ and nothing more was done.

Called in at 4pm and the place was locked up. No sign or anything. Everything online says it's open to 5. I could see people inside and the staff ignored me until I banged to door. They looked at me like I was mad - the place was full of people eating but the door was locked! I said are you open? "No we are closing early for a party". Put a sign up next time and put it on social media to avoid wasting people's time and ending up with a review like this.

I visited ‘The Kitchen’ restaurant/cafe with my friends. We went during lunch time and didn’t expect what we found inside. From the outside it looks simple but inside it is lovely. It is beautifully decorated and there has been focus even in little details. The staff were quick to show us to our table. The menu we were given had two sides. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. The staff were patient with us as we decided on our order and they were nice and friendly. It was a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. Not only did it taste great but also the presentation was nice. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a somewhere for a simple cup of tea or a meal.

My daughter and I had a beautiful lunch in the kitchen. It was busy but we’d a short wait which was worth it..! Food was delicious and a large portion of quality ingredients. Decor lovely and everything made it a really enjoyable occasion. Can’t wait to find an excuse to return!

Called to get a takeout for my daughter the other day. Ended up getting one for myself too... I suppose that says it all. Service was swift and good. (and the place is all done up now too. Its got fancy :) )

I have been to the Kitchen in omagh a few times and each time i have enjoyed the food. Staff are friendly. There is wide variety on the menu. I would return again.

Went to the kitchen on Friday afternoon. We approached a waitress and asked for a table for 3. She was less than polite with her responses! We then got a bottle of water which had no orange or lemon in it. Every other table did have. We then asked for a refill and the same bottle came back no fruit, although other tables had been cleared and a carafe suitable for fruit was available. Food came after a long wait and have to say it was very nice. The one member of staff would need a little training in dealing with public although the other girl was very pleasant.

I was present when the dog was on the premises to get a coffee to go. I can confirm that the customers story is true (the dog was handled by staff) and the owner was very rude. I think the response they have entered on here is extremely patronising and full of untruths. Have some respect for your customers, we pay your bills. Pathetic response to that customer. Can't believe you think you are doing a customer a favour by giving them their tea at their preferred strength at no extra cost! A happy customer is a returning customer and with Trip Advisor a bad review spreads the word.

Ordered buttermilk chicken tenders but was anything but tender, tough, overcooked and difficult to swallow. Have been here many times but unfortunately disappointed in this dish. Didn't complain because food took 30 minutes to arrive and wasn't prepared to wait for a replacement.

When you first walk in you are simply stunned by the well thought out and high end interior of this place. Just wow! The staff are so incredibly friendly and kind and greet you with a warm smile. The coffee is perfection - as are the handmade treats! We stopped for brunch and it was divine. I wanted to eat everything on the menu!

My friend took me here for lunch and I am so glad she did. I don't be in Omagh very much but I will definitely return to The Kitchen again! The food was great, the place was buzzing with people and it generally has a good vibe. It is a great place for those who want to eat more healthy. We certainly came away feeling inspired! I had the salmon stir fry with rice and my friend had a vegan salad followed by healthy tray bakes and herbal teas! My friend's salad was a real treat! Personally, I can't wait to return and try more!

The food here was amazing. I enjoyed the shared starter as my main and a peanut butter cookie for dessert amazing. However the service is very slow. The girl that served us was absolutely lovely, a credit to the place but there's a long wait for the food to arrive, it wouldn't stop us from going back again though.

Arrived at the Kitchen Omagh for a lunch with my toddler. The cafe was busy however, there was still a few tables to spare.

Mum and I stopped in for lunch and very much enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. We both had a burger, Mum had beef and I had a spiced chickpea burger. We enjoyed the pretzel bap with the burgers and the refreshing salad served with it. The suki tea was perfect as was the healthy flapjack we shared for desert.

Visited with visiting friends, we had breakfast, which was tasty but over priced, we chatted and ordered more coffee and snacks, chatted some more and then we were asked to vacate the table as it was nearing lunch time. We had already agreed that we would actually stay and order lunch we were having a great catch up but when this happened we left and happily went elsewhere vowing never to return.

First visit to The Kitchen and certainly won't be the last.Great variety of healthy food on offer, friendly staff and lovely environment.Highly recommended.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Donegal and were surprised and delighted by what we found: small busy place, efficient and friendly service, and excellent food. The goat's cheese and pear tart, house salad and sweet potato fries on the side were pretty well faultless. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is just amazing. The menu is full of healthy options and the taste of the food is amazing! I’m not surprised it’s so busy. I have been in several times and will be back. It’s the best restaurant in Omagh and now opens some evenings which is great! The service is friendly and efficient and the food is amazing and the way they’ve pulled flavours together into dishes is superb! Can’t wait to return.

A lovely cafe/restaurant which our family of 6 visited for lunch! Excellent service and our waitress brought bread for the kids while we waited for our food. The salads are gorgeous as was my husband’s chilli beef. Would definitely visit again!

We went here on the 11 July and the food & service was first class. Menu had plenty of variety and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely go back.

Surprising busy when we arrived for a late Saturday lunch, especially as England were in the World Cup and Omagh Show was on the same day. Service was good and food likewise. Menu is fixed and somewhat limited; could do with a daily special as this was a repeat visit and menu was static with no surprises.Good value in a good atmosphere.

Called here for lunch and tried the Greek salad bowl and sweet potato chips. Very impressed. Lovely mix of ingredients, nicely seasoned and well presented Staff were pleasant. This is a deservedly popular restaurant...wish it were open in the evening!

We were making a quick stop in Omagh for lunch and stopped in The Kitchen. Service was prompt and courteous. The lunch menu had an interesting mix of ecclectic items, many suitable for different palates such as GF, vegan etc. but a unreconstructed carnivore could also find something too. I had a chickpea burger with avocado and halloumi, with a delicious house salad which included pine nuts, blueberries and strawberries along with mixed leaves. My partner had a beef stir fry with noodles. The only criticism I have is that the menu didn't include drinks so we didn't know what was available. They definitely do tea and coffee but apart from that I cannot say. Just to add the frontage at street level is quite plain but inside it is modern and fresh, which was a pleasant surprise.

This is such a charming place for a quiet family breakfast. Serves dairy-free meals too good for those who are on specific diets.

I went here to get a snack for my children before swimming lessons. I had 50 minutes to do this, two staff stood watching the news while a third ran around 6 tables. It took 25 minutes to get the cup of coffee and another 15 before the food arrived. I was given a fork to eat Bircher muesli, my kids had to eat in 2inutes as we were out of time. The staff kept calling me 'darling' or ,'sweetheart.'. Rushing out the door I stood hold out the money while the manager started to tell me there were two chefs on! Two chefs to do the 12 covers in front of me!?! They must have been watching the news too! I was now under pressure to drive across town and trying to watch two children! The owner put a rant on Facebook skipping all the facts of the situation. I rang her, in between calling me sweetheart she was obviously performing for an audience listening in saying if her staff want to stand watching the news that's her call. I told her there is no point in having customers then. Deluded that they think their customer service is good. We all love good food, some of us esp love slow food, but not when it comes at the price of being treated as less important than her staff watching the news!

I called in for a late lunch with 2 friends. Very friendly staff, very clean and good value...but...the food...AMAZING...the Caesar salad was the best I have ever had. My friend had the goats cheese and pear tart which she said was brilliant. Service was fantastic too. Will definitely be back!

Some great food! The honey feta sweet potato fries are worth the visit! There was a long enough wait so don't come too hungry on a Saturday. There were issues with the bathrooms when I was there which is hardly ideal but a once off for sure.

Went to this lovely establishment for coffee and cake with a friend I hadn't seen in ages, at her recommendation. I liked it so much I went back for lunch! This is really a lovely friendly home cooking sort of place and Katie is so welcoming. Someone reviewed the restaurant in the context of "made to feel I needed to leave" but I was there for at least 3/4 hour at a table for 3 by myself and all I experienced was warmth and friendliness and a lovely lunch without lashings of salt! The guy sitting near me had obviously been ensconced for some time with his laptop and wasn't being hurried out! All in all, thinking very critically and looking for some chink in the armour of this restaurant, I cannot find one! Maybe if I go back frequently I might find one or two glitches but on my double experience today I will be back asap to seek them!!!

I have been here twice for lunch with a friend and on both occasions was made to feel I needed to leave,after not even being there for 50 minutes either time. For such a lovely quirky cafe they do not seem to value their customers, it was the same woman on both occasions and she automatically went to clear our plates before we were done. Then on the second visit instantly after we finished our lunch it was cleared and immediately we were asked did we want tea or coffee. When we replied ‘no thank you’ , the member of staff stood there and said ‘well, its just that we’re busy’, continued to stand there, and then walked off.

Came across this cosy restaurant in Omagh and have visited twice in the last fortnight. It’s absolutely fantastic, the menu is great, especially for vegetarians, the food is exquisite and very well presented. Prices are very reasonable for such high standard of food. The interior design of the restaurant is quirky, lots of little sayings displayed on the walls and little lights hang on the ceiling. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It seems to be a very busy and popular place for locals to eat especially people working nearby so lunchtime gets busy expect a wait for table. I would recommend booking table in advance for evening meals. Wines and beers are also available for purchase. Definitely a very good place to come for delicious food highly recommend! I can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in Omagh!

Dropped in here on castle street and we both had the vegan salad. I’m not a veggie, but I’d consider it after this. Really varied and tasty, washed down with fresh coffee fixed us for the afternoon. If you’re in Omagh, you need to try it out!

A lovely find on an uninspiring Street. The staff are friendly and the food is fabulous. Had the dish of the day which was fresh haddock in an amazingly light (gluten free) batter, hot crispy home cooked chips and the most delicious peas. Delicious and nicely presented. Finished off with a latte in a quirky mug and some gorgeous chocolate cake. Whoever is running this knows how to cook.
