The enviroment is awesome. The service is great. The food is ok, the price and portion for the kids is really good.

A lovely tidy pub restaurant. Excellent menu - both food and beer and reasonably priced. Service was good - we never felt rushed. We enjoyed our meals - liver and bacon, sea bass and chicken and apricot tagine. The fruit of the day crumble was very good too. We will be back.

Had a lovely lunch at The Kings Arms on Saturday, managed to squeeze a group of 10 for a last minute lunch with no booking, service was exceptional, food was amazing and we all left very happy and thankful they were able to cater for us at such short notice.

Was looking for a gastropub and this place was suggested on Google, and it didn’t disappoint. A quaint and local pub for a lovely lunch with mum. All fresh food, cooked very very well, and decent sized portions. We had the pate to start, sea bass with salsa verde for main and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream for dessert. The pudding was so soft and fresh. There were good veggie and vegan options available too. Free parking literally opposite the pub.

Efficient friendly staff, fine beer, great value food, and service.

Whilst accommodating as we hadn't book and staff were friendly, food wasn't brilliant and very expensive. I had a cheese and onion omelette, which was runny and found a lump of plastic in my salad, definitely inedible I told the waitress as I had scooped it up amongst the salad (couldn't see it)and tried to eat it, but when I spat it out it opened up into quite a bit of plastic. I informed the waitress, asking them to check their salad. She said she would and that was the last I heard. We paid the bill and waited for change but it never came and we had to go as we had to be somewhere.

What an amazing little pub full of friendly people great selection of beers ales and ciders.

Best restaurant food in ages. Having recently relocated my boat to medway yc, I'm now getting used to what is around the area. The little village this pub is in, is so quaint, it's like going back in time. Came here with my mother for dinner. What a wonderful experience. Lovely staff, atmosphere and excellent fresh ingredients and good portions make the prices fair. Compliments go to the chef and Olivia our server. Had a lovely ale too, the wonky donkey.

What a good lunch today at the Kings Arms ! I had Hunters Chicken, wife had ribs. Both excellent. Great choice of beers. Service very good, and reasonably priced. Will definitely return again very soon !

Will definitely be returning! Went with our son and his partner felt so welcome by the knowledgeable staff we shared starters of garlic prawns and the salt and pepper squid which were so well cooked and very tasty.I had steak and kidney pudding which was delicious my husband and son had the chef special of pan fried cod with Chorizo mussels and new potatoes which was top restaurant quality son’s partner had cod and chips which was massive we had a bottle of wine and 4 beers can not fault anything the young waitress was so attentive and knew the menu well highly recommend

Disappointed that at 7pm on a Saturday night 3 dishes that I chose from the menu weren't available, surely on a Saturday night you should be more prepared

We arranged to take my disabled daughter here to celebrate her birthday with friends and family, Upon arrival the front door importantly has an accessible ramp for the wheelchair to the front door. We were shown to where we had a pre booked table for 12. Plenty of room for the wheelchair we were made to feel welcome as new customers and friendly staff wasted no time to ask what drinks we would like. We had already pre.orderd our meals which I think really helps when there is a large group of guests. Except two of our guests that hadn't pre.ordered but this wasn't a problem at all. All of our meals were bought out together which was great so we could all more or less finish eating together. I had a delicious mushroom omelette and chips with a side salad, really tasty. My other daughter chose the chicken tikka masala and three of my guests chose the liver and bacon. All dishes were hot to eat on arrival & well cooked and enjoyed by all our guests. The waitress staff had pleasant friendly smiles and offered to get us any more drinks if needed. Throughout our stay here to celebrate my daughter's birthday we felt that nothing was too much trouble, we felt very comfortable at the Kings Arms which boasts a nice atmospheric public house set in a quaint village setting. Thankyou Kings Arms we will be back soon.

We ended up at The Kings Arms very last minute. (Had reserved a table at the Ship nearby, but that looked like a disaster waiting to happen.) Used to visit the Kings Arms regularly a few years back and it looked no different – almost the same menu, but new owners I believe. We were therefore happy to get a table on a Friday evening without booking. We shared a starter – Breaded Whitebait which was fine. I had a rib eye steak which was better than some I’ve had recently. My wife went for the Steak Ale pie which she often used to eat here. The first one served up was well overcooked with rock hard pastry. Our waitress was happy to change this. After around 15 mins a replacement arrived which was undercooked with almost raw pastry. Again our waitress apologises and returns the pie to the Kitchen. By this time of course I have finished my steak. A third pie arrives after about 15 mins and this one is OK! Our waitress apologises once more and informs us that they will not charge for the pie. We were not in the mood for a desert and therefore asked for the bill. The bill included the full price for the Steak Ale pie, which the waitress explained had been put back on by the manager (who I think is the owner) and I would need to discuss this with him. I did he offered a reduction to the bill but did not want to honour what our waitress had advised. I did not want a long discussion so paid and left. Unfortunately this experience has soured my memory of the Kings Arms so I will not be recommending it or returning soon.

The food in this pub is absolutely out of this world. I had a prawn & crayfish jacket potato, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! The potato was cooked to absolute perfection & the prawn & crayfish tasted like they had just come out of the sea, the freshness was sublime. To top it off, it came with a beautiful salad and HOMEMADE coleslaw that was also out of this world. I highly recommend this place as the service as well as the food was top notch! Staff are friendly and very, very helpful. I had an all round A* experience here. Thanks so much.

Food was amazing we had not booked but they found a table for 2 in the restaurant. Waiters was attentive top Mark's. Liver and bacon was great so pleased they have gluten free options .Welldone all the team .xxx

On the spot decision to dine here. What a discovery. Superb chips. Very generous portions and worked out cheaper than when we go to a Wimpey Bar! Highly, highly recommended.

Sunday roast was a disgrace . Very disappointed. Hard potatoes ,poor quality vegetables, tasteless gravy . Would not go again . Overpriced.

Visiting from Australia, my sister took me to this favourite pub of hers. Very good menu, good choice of real ale, big garden area suitable for kids. A most enjoyable afternoon. Recommended.

Lovely meals today steak kidney pie and cheese herb crusted pollock. Very hot and tasty recommend.

After taking the boat to Dover, we had diner here with our family of five and it was perfect. Very nice atmosphere, great food and excellent staff. Theresa, thank you so much for the lovely evening! It was the best start of our holiday!

Great pub and restaurant. Excellent beer selection and good honest pub food. On top of local cask ales; Quite a few different Belgium and German beers. There is a large beer garden split over multiple levels. One area is built to be like sitting on a wooden sailing ship. Would recommend booking in advance if planning on having a meal, especially if looking to visit over the weekend.

Very good lunch I had. Exceeded my expectations. I had the hake with a breadcrumbs topping seasoned with walnuts and dill seating in a white wine sauce. The fish was cooked to perfection. The presentation was beautiful . I wish I can upload the photo.

I ordered scampi, burger and a single latte. Scampi was raw, burger was vinegary, latte milk was even burnt. When I received my bill I was charged for 3 lattes and they kept insisting I had multiple. Overall service was appalling.

Lovely pub in a beautiful area. We ate here on Easter Sunday and it was really nice. Roast beef was so tender and the lamb shank fell off the bone. The cauliflower cheese was amazing as well...... prices are great and the staff were really friendly. Will be returning very soon!

Good steak and ale pie , nice venison pate starter . Had a wide range of bottled beer and draughts . Bit warm in lounge and dim as the sun settled , with friendly mixed service . My elderly dementia suffering father enjoyed his pudding , it was nice to see a smile on his wrinkled face ( see attached picture )

Amazing consistent food Great atmosphere

Went for mother's day dinner my wife and me we had 2 roast dinners they must of been sitting around for ages and then put in the microwave still not warm stuffing Ball was as hard as a golf ball potatoes were cremated and the 1 pig in blanket was of definitely won't recommend the pub for food and won't be back 🙃

My go to for beer in the Medway area. Good, well kept ales and an excellent range of keg beers too, and for a proper pub, at very reasonable price in current circumstances.

Last night we had dinner at the King arms for Valentine’s Day Dinner. The food was delicious! We Could choose from the extensive main menu or from the Valentines Day special menu. I chose from the Specials and I was not disappointed . I had the Moroccan Lamb with lemon, sultana and feta cous cous, followed by a home made Bakewell tart. The tables each had a red candle and a small single rose in a vase which looked lovely and the atmosphere was very relaxing and romantic! The staff were, as always, very polite and friendly. Good choice of ales and wines. I would definitely recommend this pub/restaurant. Thank you Kings Arms.

Such a beautiful location for a wonderful pub. Lots of variety of beers and a lovely garden. Tucked away from the busier part of lower upnor so really excellent and will definitely visit again. While you’re there check out the cottages nearby. Beautiful

As always another delicious Sunday lunch at the Kings Arms, my favourite place to eat and meet friends for drinks . The food was amazing - I had the salt and pepper squid to start followed by a huge homemade steak and ale pie plus a Black Forest roulade dessert . The bar and waiting staff were very friendly and welcoming.

We have had several meals at the Kings Arms and we have always enjoyed lovely food and received good service. This afternoon we had a Christmas dinner, and it was excellent- by far the best I have had in any pub or restaurant.

We had a wonderful meal here with some friends. Delicious food, huge portions, sensible prices and friendly, helpful service. Pretty much perfect!

We met up with some friends here for dinner. We used to frequent this pub about 5 years ago but have moved away, so decided we'd give it a try based on our previous excellent experiences. Very happy to say it exceeded all our expectations. The food was delicious and fairly priced and the portions were huge. The staff were friendly and helpful but gave us time to chat between courses (and let the food go down to make space for more!) So glad we decided to give it a try after a long break, it was fabulous. Can't recommend it enough.

I had a great time here on my birthday. A party of 26 with a mix of old, young and kids. Great menu, staff great. Location is just a hidden jem 👍

Had daughters wedding reception in the restaurant area. Food was fantastic and staff were brilliant. Its a lovely pub and will be returning.

Just had to review our visit to this pub restaurant today, as it proved to be the perfect place for a catch up with friends, with an extensive, reasonably priced menu. All of our meals were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented and portion sizes were much larger than expected. Our service was unhurried, giving us time to chat and still devour a main and dessert. Thoroughly recommend.

Dog-friendly local pub. It's clean, service was ok. I had halloumi burger which was good, but the coffee was awful. My friends had desserts and that was also not what they expected, I had a taste and I had to agree.

Me missus and mother in law went for a meal booked for 1pm amazing sea food platter, my missus had prawn and salmon spaghetti and mother in law lasagne and dessert amazing definitely when we come on holidays again definitely booking this place again and amazing staff.

Here for lunch and the food was amazing. Wife had Roasted Salmon with spinach and potatoes and I had the Hunters Chicken. We both cleared our plates. Definetly coming back in the near future.

We stumbled on the pub on holiday and stayed for lunch food and drink was so tasty and lovely play area for the kids (age 3 and 5) we were so impressed we came back for dinner but unfortunately due to antisocial behaviour in the pub garden it cut short our stay. Would highly recommend pub due to food and friendly staff (and cat) but watch out for the antisocial teenagers who frequent the pub and seem to have rule over the pub garden

It's a lovely pub. We popped in yesterday before going to look around Upnor Castle. The staff were super friendly, and the food was tasty. There's a massive beer garden out the back with some playground equipment for the kids. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
