The King Harry in St Albans

Came here with some friends, great atmosphere and great staff, always served quickly and staff couldn’t be more helpful-friendly and polite!

An impromptu visit with my mum and dad, we met for dinner, they honestly couldn't have done more. Helped my dad with the parking, came and took our orders, all staff courteous, friendly and professional. The pub is very ambient and comfortable, toilets clean with luxurious soap and hand cream. I had the best beef cheese burger I have had in a long time, not greasy, but the flavours were excellent. Portions are huge, we couldn't eat all the chips so got them to go home - nothing was too much trouble. A little gem on the outside of St Alban's. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed xx

We held our Mum's celebration of life at the King Harry; it was wonderful! After the funeral, we gathered in the Snug, ate a delicious buffet, spent time with friends and family and were looked after by Napoleon and the lovely staff. They made a difficult day so much easier. Thank you so much!

We hired a room for an 18th birthday party and had food - the whole thing was just excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful - they really went out of their way to make it a good evening and lots of people commented on it. I already have recommended it to other people and I will definitely be back next time I need a similar venue..loved it. Thank you.

Disappointing family Xmas lunch. Portions size, quality, variety and temperature of food all below standard. Clearly, kitchen too small and inadequate to cope with big events.

Recently refurbed, friendly local pub that serves great food with lovely service. Gluten free dietary requirement dealt with kindly and efficiently and put me at ease they they understand.

We booked the Christmas menu for a family gathering of 8. The service was brilliant, the food hot and extremely tasty. When one of the children’s desserts came out without whipped cream, they immediately offered both children a chocolate brownie to make up for it. Sam and his team are friendly, attentive and it was a wonderful afternoon. We will definitely book again.

We went for a Sunday roast it was spectacular and it tasted amazing and I rlly recommend it. The meat was soft like butter.

I booked this pub for the St.Alban's Club Español's annual Christmas dinner as I'd read good reviews about it and we were certainly not disappointed. Welcoming from the moment we arrived, staff had made the area reserved for our group of 16 very Christmassy and cosy. Napoleon and other staff were very attentive all evening, and the service was friendly and efficient throughout - even when they were trying to close and a few of us were still chatting at the end. The food from the Christmas menu was of a very good standard, the best I've had in the area for this type of menu. The veggie nut roast was particularly delicious and enjoyed by the four non meat-eaters of the group. The Belgian choc torte was also a big hit. Will certainly be looking to book again for next year's event and hope to eat there again soon anyway with other friends. Big thank you to all for making it such a lovely evening

We moved to the area in February and drive past this pub often, we finally made a reservation and we are so glad we did. A beautiful cosy pub, with plenty of outdoor seating which will be fabulous in the summer, and some were braving the weather under the heated lamps. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was so delicious, we are already planning when we are coming back to try the multiple dishes we want to try. Our new favourite pub, can't wait to bring friends and family along to try.

We visited with friends on a busy Sunday afternoon, very decent food and lovely surroundings. Proper cosy pub. Carpark on site which was a plus too. Will definitely be back.

I met a friend for lunch, friendly staff, nice choice of food which was well presented. We had lunch, coffee and a drink for just under £20.00 each. Nice areas inside and out plus free parking when you put your car reg in at the door. We went mid-week. Would recommend.

This pub is FANTASTIC! The staff are so friendly and accepting of ALL people and dogs! A great range of drinks for all tastes, food is varied and very tasty and since the recent refurb the inside and outside areas are so so lovely! I’ve been drinking in this pub for over 30yrs and this is the best it’s ever been, both the environment and the staff (ALL the staff) are top notch and I can’t recommend visiting here highly enough. Whether for a family meal, a friends night out, a large party or a couples quiet one, The King Harry can and will deliver!! Thank you to Sam and team for making my local, EPIC!!

My first visit to the newly revamped King Harry about which I'd heard good things, and I was not disappointed. Food, service, ambience, decor, all excellent.

We were impressed by the new decor following the refurbishment and by the friendly welcome from the staff. The bar menu offered an excellent choice of ‘small plates’ for a reasonable price and each of the dishes was well prepared and presented. A minor glitch with running out of milk was dealt with apologetically and professionally. Thanks to Emily and her colleague (whose name we didn’t catch) for making our short stay so enjoyable.

We came here for a Fathers’ day lunch yesterday. The food was lovely and we really appreciated the friendly service.

Been twice to the King Harry after the refurbishment and on both occasions we were unable to order food. Once as the kitchen closed early and once as they wouldn’t serve walk ins despite the pub being pretty empty and majority filled with people having drinks in the sun. On both occasions we had to leave earlier than we would have liked to get dinner elsewhere.

This pub has had a total refurbishment. Thought we would give it a try. Very happy we did. Lovely ambiance, super nice staff and good food snd not too pricey. Nice seating area at the front and back. Will DEFINITELY go back again and recommend yo others.

I have some sympathy for the King Harry after reading some of the recent reviews on here in terms of availability and capacity. The friendliness of the staff and the good food mean that I’d recommend it for a family going out on a Sunday....
