I was working at the King Arthur at a gig weekend

Good choice of beers, interestingly quirky interior and some excellent live music when we visited in October. First visit was great, young lady behind bar was very efficient and friendly/chatty with good knowledge of the beers...on our second visit we experienced a grumpy man behind bar, we were waiting to be served and barman diverted off to serve someone who arrived at bar after us...I rolled my eyes at my mate, at which point the barman said "he was waiting the other side of the pillar and before you, so if you want to kick off get on with it"...so... 1. why didn't the man get served while the other side of the pillar 2. If barman had said the other chap had been waiting out of sight he wouldn't have appeared to be so ignorant and rude. Maybe barman was having a bad day/night...but in this line of work being rude is not good...should get some coaching from his colleagues. Other pubs Glastonbury we visited provided excellent service, in particular the Riflemans Arms and Who'd a Thought It...King Arthur well worth a visit for beers and music but how enjoyable the experience is might depend on who is behind the bar. N.B. they don't do food, so I haven't rated that.

A nice local pub. They don't serve food. They serve nice local beers, which is a refreshing offering to just having the international usual suspects 🤗

This is a great pub, but just as in my last review from Feb. 23, it is not currently serving food apart from some filled rolls. If you are a cider drinker, ask at the bar for Wilkins. It is stocked, just not on public view.

definitely going to back here, open mic night, mid week, aiming for a weekend next time.

No food!, but friendly place to have a pint and take in the local scene!

Very much an alternative pub (not for the stuffy and conservative) we enjoyed the atmosphere here, there was music on the Sunday afternoon/evening with a fire in the fire pit in the beer garden. They had a new comedy night on the Monday night of the August bank holiday weekend. The apple cider was also good. We didn’t eat and I would say not particularly suitable for children.

Live here now use it when out for a beer it's still a good night out. Check up their website for live entertainment. Beer good and at a fair price. Staff excellent

A great music venue serving craft ales and with a large beer garden -what more could you want? Friendly staff too. No food whilst I was there, but there was a music festival on, so there might be at other times. Not far from all the cafes in the centre of town, so not that important.

Went to see hubby's son's gig. Music was do loud it's deafening! Lovely woman staff helped get chair for hubby, next to the stage.

Staff is nice n it was usually fun but there can b some whacked people there 💀 , remember when I was 6 or 7 and this man managed to get onto some of the roofs n someone had to call the police ,wasn’t allowed outside staff member was at the door stopping anyone going out thankfully

It was a very good night at the King Arthur for the first 3 hours.We had good music, friendly service and happy fellow customers. Then a drunk male customer became extremely violent - threatening some bar staff and customers and caused damage to the pub door and window along the way.

The King Arthur continues to be a good pub, but it should perhaps be removed from the 'restaurant ' category as it does not seem to be serving food at present - perhaps food will resume in summer. and some other real ciders. It is a well-run pub with an eclectic clientele and a music focus, and serves the excellent local Wilkins cider. I'm not generally a fan of recorded music played in pubs but at least the KA is a music pub so it makes sense here, and they seem to choose better canned music than most.

A pub that has so much character and charm with loads of local history stories. Very friendly.

Went here for the Kozfest Xmas party. The bar staff were very friendly and there was a good range of local beers as well as the usual brands. There was also a burger bar out the back which served excellent meat and veggie burgers and hotdogs. Lovely pub!

Really great boozer with a far livelier atmosphere than other pubs in town. I was on my own but the staff & customers were wonderfully friendly to me. A must visit if you're in Glastonbury, especially when they have live music on.

A proper old school pub. Nothing fancy just how pubs used to be. A great selection of ales and beers and ciders to try. And a brilliant barman that seems to be the soul of the place. We spent far to long here when we should of been exploring Glastonbury lol.

Fantastic venue, great sound engineer and the lighting engineer was top notch! Hope to play here again soon! (The videos are of Drallion and Grove Warden for anyone interested)

Great for live music but it looks like it needs a good scrub and paint job ,the bar staff weren't particularly friendly ,it seems to just be a rough and ready drinkers pub ,it wouldn't be my first choice for a night out.

Awesome old pub with a casual vibe about it. Alternative-looking kinda place (although when we went in they were playing dodgy rave music! But I don't think it's always like that). Stone floors, big garden, good drinks selection. Some cool looking alternative types in there. Not much parking but it's just down the road from the town centre anyway. Lots of events on. Would highly recommend.

Slightly off the main thoroughfare The King Arthur is nicely tucked away affording the opportunity to have a good pint in a relaxed atmosphere. For us it' has the feel of a good locals pub with a nice relaxed vibe and a good selection of beers. Highly recommended. The garden murals are incredible.

Nice beer selection, the inside could have been slightly cleaner, seats and tables seemed a bit grubby, the outside area would've been nice to sit and enjoy the sunshine except everyone out there was smoking, so couldn't stand to sit and be engulfed in that.

Checked out the house of commoners here last night , great time great band great bar.

Gemma and team totally amazing, very welcoming, great atmosphere, lovely vibe.

We stopped here for a beer or 2 and some lunch. Getting the drinks was satisfactory. The menu was limited and a little disappointing. When ordering food, the staff member did not know who to enter the orders into the system. After 4 attempts he advised the bill was £45, which sounded right with the 2 drinks as well. He then wrote the order on what I thought was the receipt and handed it to me. After a 30 minute wait no food had arrived, so went to check, only to be told the kitchen had not received the order. Turns out I had the order and he expected me to hand it to the kitchen. He even came out and said I should have given the order to the kitchen, the cheek! Once most of the food arrived (still missing chips, we got about 5 minutes later) it was OK, but nothing special. Garden furniture could do with an update. Would not recommend or go back to this pub.

Nice but wouldn't rave about it, the pub is very tired and as a result every thing looks grubby or broken, the outside tables are all in need of repair or replacing. The beer was good and well kept. The food menu was short (and very sticky from the bar!) lasagna, burgers or nachos, not particularly exciting but we decided to order, the pub was really quiet when we ordered but after 45 minutes we had to chase our food only to be told they hadn't told the kitchen. It was then quickly sorted. The food was fine but nothing special. So all in all, it was ok but I won't rush back.

Downright unfriendly manager with anger issues, AVOID.

Witnessed what seemed to be a blonde female manager assaulting & shouting at a guest - all because that man had no shoes on (he wasn't even drunk)! No real reason, no warning; she just came at him, started violently pushing him towards the exit and shouted some insulting slurs while doing so. Can definitely not recommend having a drink here!

A very colourful place with lots of live music on offer. If you want to experience Glastonbury out of hours then come here.

Carrot crisps, parsnips, mash carrots, whole carrots, scrumptious roast pots, best cauli cheese ever and huge tasty yorkie with a gravy the you could eat in a bowl with bread its sooo delish! Great meat and nut roast option too. A fab value for money Sunday lunch highly recommended. 😀 Lovely staff too

Really enjoyed the enchiladas, so we decided to grab desert as well, apple crumble with custard, it was all very nice! Service seemed a tad slow, but acceptable. Music was pretty cool too!

I frequently go for a Sunday roast and, having sampled all the local pubs and cafes, the King Arthur wins hands down. Very generous portions and vfm. The chef even came out to ask how I would like my beef cooked - which is rare for a pub.

Very friendly welcome to a warm, clean and cosy table by a beautiful fireplace. The vibe was friendly and lively. We had three courses and each were topnotch. Traditional meals with a twist was a pleasant surprise, tasty, good quality food, cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The lovely waitress was engaging with my son who has additional needs which was appreciated. Couldn’t fault the food, the place or the staff at all so I would definitely recommend and go again.

A beautiful pub, weather you want to grab a coffee mid day and enjoy some shelter in a very old setting or hide away in a very well designed beer garden, return for a show in the evening and the place comes to life, our first visit on St Patrick's evening and a great evening had, will look forward to many more, if your local even passing through I recommend a visit to this enchanted place,

Nice central location for a catch up, could do better on the live music ( mostly glam rock ) and decor is run down but a decent watering hole regardless
