Wayne made our first meal out since lockdown a pleasure with his helpful and considerate service . Good food and lovely atmosphere.

We were served by the lovely Edyta! With the pandemic you can see that staff numbers have been cut back and despite Edyta looking after quite a few tables, she was still very patient, attentive & polite to us. She still made the time to have a little laugh which made the service even better. The food arrived lovely & hot too!

Myself, partner and 2 kids were out in the marina doing last bits of Xmas shopping but in doing so we wanted to chill and have some food!In that result we ended up in the Katarina and we were not disappointed at all! We were meet and greeted by a big tall gentleman (Gary) who was able to show us to our seats and on top of that we had a great view too! We made our decision on what we wanted and was served by a waitress by the name of (Zoe)! While taking our order she was polite and attentive,and really engaged with our children,who my youngest child (10 month old) to a liken too!Even with the bill when asked she was prompt and her service was excellent! Could not fault her.As for the food, it was delicious, and was a brilliant choice to dine with you and we be sure to pop in again! Massive shout to Gary and Zoe ! Once again,their service was amazing! Thank you

Served by Wayne. Again! Such a great server who’s so warm and easy to talk to. Really attentive even when he’s ran off his feet. Harvester is our guilty pleasure and we’ve had some dodgy experiences in the past but the food was good and the service exceeded our expectations.

Edita our server was lovely! Very helpful and very attentive in what are clearly more difficult conditions for staff in the restaurant during the pandemic. Excellent food (especially recommend the steak sandwich with chips & gravy!) and friendly staff. Thank you 😊

Really nice to be back again after lockdown the 2nd. Greeted with a smile again by the guys there and Wayne was more than helpful and couldn’t do enough to help usFood was exactly as expected and larger portions than I anticipatedYou need more people like him as staff!

Me, my partner and our little girl had an amazing experience at the katarina, all the staff were very helpful and the food was amazing. You feel safe in there despite the current situation.

We were served by Gavin this evening, he could not have been any more helpful or attentive, nothing was too much trouble for him, a wonderful evening with delicious food, compliments also to the chef and to Lily who was also friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, a credit to the Manager and Harvester chain during these particularly testing times. We will certainly be returning, thankyou.

Possible the worse harvester I’ve eaten in, needed a good clean especially the stairs, plus the toilets stunk, staff where friendly but the food wasn’t good, very dry chicken and was told the kitchen had been made aware.

Quite possibly one of the safest places I've been since the dreaded Corona. Myself, my son (6), my nephew (4) and my Mum went for lunch yesterday (26th) and it was lovely. The food was lush, didn't have to wait long between courses, everything was well explained to us. Our server, Beth, made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. She interacted with the kids, she recommended my Mum on food.. shes an asset! Will definately be returning.

After a disappointing trek around Brighton Marina, we chose the Harvester for a snack lunch and throughly enjoyed 2 tapas plates. Nachos were great and the BBQ wings were amazing. Tom the manager couldn’t do enough. A fantastic lunchtime visit. Throughly recommend

Not been in for a while and got to say I was very impressed by the new restrictions for COVID and the service from Wayne was amazing. Very funny and very informative guy loved every minute

Came in for breakfast the service was fantastic and lily was very attentive, kept checking we were okay and if we needed anything else from the continental bar or If we wanted anything else from the cooked selection. Overall just a great visit

Me quedé muy impresionado con las alteraciones de la configuración después de covid 19, estábamos escépticos sobre salir del armario con mi novia con 36 semanas de embarazo, pero lo han reducido a un té, nos hicieron sentir muy seguros. Nuestro servidor Sharon fue fantástico e hizo que nuestra experiencia fuera realmente agradable. Un restaurante seguro al 100%.

De vez en cuando venía a nosotros y nos decía gracias por su paciencia. Su nombre era Wayne, el camarero del ejército suizo original jajaja, muy informativo y conocedor. Se me conoce por ser un comensal muy impaciente, así que esperaba lo peor.Sin embargo, la experiencia fue muy fácil y la espera probablemente fue la misma que de costumbre. Fue muy disfrutado. Gracias Wayne por hacer de la cena una experiencia sencilla. Quedamos impresionados.

Difícil decidir entre 3 y 4 estrellas. Decidí pecar de generosidad. El personal era encantador y la comida era buena. Nos advirtieron que el servicio puede ser un poco lento. Nos tomó unos 20 minutos tomar nuestro pedido y después de 45 minutos nuestras bebidas no habían llegado. Habíamos pedido G & Ts y aperol spritz para beber como aperitivo mientras esperábamos nuestros platos principales y una botella de tinto para acompañar nuestro bistec. El gerente notó que nuestras bebidas no habían llegado y amablemente nos ofreció un 20% de descuento en nuestra factura, lo cual fue bienvenido pero frustrante; por el simple hecho de traernos una bebida rápida, hubiéramos estado mucho más relajados esperando nuestra comida y hubiéramos ahorrado mella en sus ganancias. ¡Los aperitivos, el vino y la comida llegaron todos al mismo tiempo! Decidimos beber nuestro vino con el plato principal y guardar las otras bebidas para el postre y ¡funcionó bien! Nuestro bistec estaba muy bien preparado y aprecié poder cambiar mis patatas fritas por verduras. El pastel de mousse de grosella negra de postre estaba delicioso. Para cuando salimos a las 9. 30 el lugar estaba vacío, así que el servicio mejoró para conseguir postre. La joven que nos atendió era encantadora y claramente sobrecargada. Solo necesitan mirar los niveles de personal para la cantidad de reservas que están tomando y esto hubiera sido excelente.

Second time we have been served by Wayne and he’s amazing deserves a pay rise and is the reason we return!

Vinimos un par de veces durante nuestras vacaciones y en ambas ocasiones el personal fue muy atento, eficiente y amable, y la comida estaba bien preparada y sabrosa.Los precios también eran muy razonables.Su rutina Covid es acertada y probablemente sea más segura que la mayoría de los restaurantes en la era anterior a Covid. Todas las mesas se limpian escrupulosamente entre clientes y artículos como botellas de salsa se desinfectan entre usos. Los clientes deben ser atendidos por una camarera para la barra de ensaladas y estar a una buena distancia. Se sintió muy seguro.

We just had lunch at the harvester in the marina. Food was excellent and the service was even better! The cleanest most organised place we have visited since covid! 100% recommend! Look forward to our next visit! Our waiter Wayne was qualilty!

We hadn't eaten out for a while due to lockdown and but were really pleased to see that Harvester have reopened with safety and service as their priority. We eat here regularly as the kids love it and its great value, but we were still pleasantly surprised to see the levels they had gone to keep staff and customers safe in these crazy times. We were served by Sharon who was as warm and friendly as ever and greeted us with a genine welcome having remembered us from previous visits. She explained the changes since lockdown, that we could still use the salad bar which she would serve to us, refills were still available for soft drinks and there were very few tables in use so we still had great service but were socially distanced from other groups. We witnessed really thorough cleaning and I genuinely couldn't fault it. We have since been to some higher end chains where we expected at least the same level of care, but I would recommend it here over other restaurants who appear to still be packing people in like sardines and taking barely any precautions. So if you want a great value meal,in socially distanced clean surroundings with lovely friendly staff then you need look no further.

We managed to get a table one night during our stay it was so popular. Many of the tables had been removed for social distancing. You were invited to go to The salad bar one table at a time and you stayed in a prepositioned spot whilst your server filled your plate and then returned to your table. The meal was very nice.

What great service Wayne provided ! He was funny attentive and made the whole experience wonderful! My family have had bad experiences before and today they can say how wonderful it was so Wayne has truly shown them the best of what the harvester can offer ! Evan with Covid rules in place he tried to make it a fun experience with out making us worry if we didn’t stand in the circle correctly or the jeep distance correctly he quickly got us in the right places and kept it light and fun. So thank you so much to Wayne for making our first family dinner since lock down such a great one ! And to the managers you have a right gem on your hands he is an incredible asset to your team ! And would greatly recommend a pay rise / bonus or any kind of gratitude for his work!

we came for my younger brother’s birthday and the servers were so kind and friendly. social distancing and hygiene was kept up to high standards. everything was very quick despite it being quite busy and food was very good! the only downside is we did want some of the quick bites but there was nothing clear on the menu specifying that the items were only available on certain days at certain hours. one birthday boy is very sad, but he’ll get over it. also, the female toilets had broken toilet seats which made it hard to sit down without falling on the floor, and the floors were wet but other than that, it was perfect.

Was initially very nervous about visit due to COVID but the safety of customers was their priority and everything was cleaned and sanitised continuously. We were served by a lovely waitress called Sharon, who explained everything to us in detail regarding how she would serve drinks, food and salad safely. We felt very confident and safe eating here and would definitely return.

Turned up in a group of five of us, one with autism too. The staff couldn’t do more to help. The nice chap on Food Reception was superb and found me a table half hour before my booking time. The waiter Wayne was superb with his manner and excellent customer service.

Popped in to see some friends for a drink. As I wasn't drinking alcohol I appreciated the interesting selection of 'mocktail' style drinks.Only reason not 5 stars is that the best part of the marina is the view of the boats and looking out to sea and this is in the wrong location for that (but still a nice location).

Visited on a Friday night, restaurant not busy.1. Entrance door broken so had to enter via fire exit2. Had to wait at top of crowded stairs to be seated, with staff walking past and ignoring us3. No pork belly which limited menu choices4. No buttermilk chicken which limited menu choices5. Half salad bowls given to us were still dirty6. not enough cutlery given so had to scavenge from other tables7. Ice machine not working so had to get from a big blue bucket8. No white bread rolls9. No cucumber left for salad bar/half other items missing10. Sporadic brown roll availability11. No ladies toilets (had to ask each time for access to disabled)12. No cubicle available in gents toilets13. Wet stinky floor in gents toilets14. Barely identifiable sausage on mixed grill15. Spoons for desserts placed with handle directly in syrup when brought to table16. Ribs delivered with wrong side order17. Latte ordered, sad looking white coffee delivered18. Adverts on tables suggesting to pay via app, but table numbers absent so impossible to do so19. No staff at the bar20. No passion fruit sundae availableApart from that, it was lovely. Staff when interacting were friendly.

How this place does such a trade I am at a loss to know! On arrival the main doors were not working and the place was soggy at the fire door entrance due to bad weather. We were a very large party and had been asked to pre-order our food to ensure that things were available. Well we need not of bothered. Despite the place not being packed we had one very pleasant overworked waitress who struggled to sort out our food order - items were not available and things were dished up in bits and bobs. We were also put in an area that was the main walkway through for others and it was like eating in a corridor!! Shambles all round and the food was not particularly very good either. Some of us were eating our mains when others were eating dessert. This part of the Harvester chain really needs to get it together - complete waste of time and money.

I went yesterday and the meal was absolutely fantastic, thank you . The team all worked so hard and my Ribs were fantastic the best dish on the menu. Well done

We ate as a family group of 9 at the Katarina yesterday. We had prebooked although the restaurant was fairly quiet. The staff had tried to make contact with us prior to our visit to let us know that they had been let down on some of their food orders and that some items on the menu weren’t available. The didn’t get through to pass this message on but updated us as soon as we arrived at the restaurant. We had the option to cancel but after a quick look through the menu decided to stay as there was still lots to choose from.We had drinks at the bar and then went upstairs to our table. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. I had a blue cheese burger which was very tasty. My son had the ribs which he enjoyed. The chips are really good.Love the salad bar.

This morning we came for breakfast with the family, which we do every year on New Years Day. We normally have a pleasant experience. But today we had the most amazing waiter. Not only did he make sure we were all happy & comfortable. But he went above & beyond with my niece. She normally is very shy & won’t tell her order to the waiter. Maté came down to her level & talked to her about her order, showed her his device & with his help selected her order. Through the reminder of the meal, he continued with his warm & friendly manner. By far he is the best waiter that I have had serve me. You most definitely do not want to let him go. Thank you Maté you honestly could not do more for my family.

We went to the Katarina for Christmas day dinner. The food was good, but what made our day was the amazing service given to us by Matt. He appeared to be that server on the ground flood and was very busy. In spite of the he was friendly, attentive and got every thing spot on. He even made time the joke and chat with 91 year old Dad. It is what it is. Cheap and cheerful. Very clean and the staff very friendly. Would have been top Mark's based on the type of pub this is but had to lose a star as the Black pudding was missing from the meal.

We had a lovely meal on Christmas Day and we’re well looked after by Sandra. She was happy, helpful and very personable and very friendly. The food was delivered in a timely manner and it was very busy. Good job Harvester and excellent job Sharon for a very busy Christmas Day. Atmosphere was great and festive and food was exactly as described on the tin!

We have come down to stay in Brighton, booked and prepaid for xmas dinner at the harvester restaurant in the marina. We we arrived on time as requested, show to table, order drinks which promptly arrive followed by my starter course had obviously been sitting on a side for some time, bread hard, salad leaves shrivelled. Main course arrived dry disqusting, a pig would have turned his nose up at it. We left disappointed £79 out of pocket,. Let your self down harvesters, just out to make an xmas killing.

I came for dinner last weekend, not expecting much as previous trips have been rather disappointing, and was very impressed! The bar was buzzing with people and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the building

Great staff, got seated quickly and our server/wait person was awesome. Great knowledge of all items asked about. Even though it was a busy night, our server made every effort to be there for us. Great food, great atmosphere great staff... nothing more to add!

Served by Wayne the other night, nothing too much trouble and was a joy to be served by, we even made a quick comment to the manager about our server being so kind to us

Came along for lunch with my elderly mother and two children, although it was rather busy, the service and food given was excellent (Served by a young girl named Maisy I think her name was). I had a fish pie which came in a much larger portion than I was expecting so definitely filled a hole! Our waitress was very interactive with our children and even sat with our son at the christmas tree and showed him the decorations which was absolutely lovely to have as most places ignore the children.

We went to this harvester yesterday afternoon and what a delight it was from start to finish. We were greeted as we arrived and taken to our table promptly. Our food was hot and tasty and they service was great, nothing was too much trouble. Keep up the good work! We will be back soon

No staff and the bearded guy who i assume is the manager was more interested in his figures than the customers ordered 3 teas as bwe dont drink 2 turned up after 15 minutes to be told they had no more tea pots?tea was luke warm like the staff! We walked out and went to the Italian restaurant instead i think public health should pay you a visit? OR A NEW MANAGER IS NEEDED ! Quite appalling mr m Davies chichesr

Wayne was our server today and he truly made the experience enjoyable.

Visited with daughter who's a uni student nearby. Whilst waiting to be seated passing employee told us to go upstairs and find a table, which we did. Lots of available tables, so sat and waited for someone to come over with menu. Despite waitress seeing us whilst serving, we were ignored for 15 minutes. Eventually we sought out a man cleaning tables who apologised, gave us menus and said someone would be over. After another 10 minutes we gave up and walked out. (I've never walked out of a restaurant before.) It wasn't busy but seemed woefully short staffed. Luckily TGI Friday's saved the day.

Horrible evitar. . . Platos sucios y grasientos. Tenía bacalao y papas fritas, todo cocinado en aceite de sabor desagradable, realmente grasiento con un poquito de pescado cocido en el interior. ¡Los guisantes blandos no llenaban la mitad de la olla, no una comida barata! El pastel de cerezas y las natillas salieron en otro plato de aspecto sucio servido con natillas heladas que tuvieron que pedir que se calentaran. Luego, para colmo, no hay papel higiénico en ninguno de los 4 inodoros sucios.

He estado yendo aquí muchos años, está en el lugar perfecto para reunirse, pero en los últimos años ha sido horrible. La comida, el servicio, el ambiente hasta hoy. Reservé una mesa en línea, ya que en Liverpool pensé que el sábado estaría ocupado, lo que no siempre es un buen comienzo, ya que normalmente significa que la comida será horrible, no hoy. Nuestro servidor Sharon fue amable y educado. Mi comida salió mal y cuando la dejó, recordó que quería papas fritas de camote, así que me la quité y volví a estar en 5 todavía caliente. No nos sentimos presionados como lo hemos estado. La comida llegó y nos sorprendió que fuera justo, caliente y sabía bien. Éramos 4, 2 rondas de bebidas, 2 lados, 4 platos principales, 2 postres y 1 café llegamos a poco menos de 100, lo que nos sorprendió un poco y esperamos que sea tanto. Simplemente tenía pollo y cambié las papas al horno o las papas fritas por batatas fritas, te advierto que te cobrarán por esto. El pollo simplemente era verduras mixtas, relleno de salsa, un pequeño trozo de pollo y batatas fritas para 11. Este lugar no tiene una buena relación calidad-precio. Fuimos a las 4 pm, estaba lleno, así que me alegro de haber reservado a pesar de que nunca miraron. La reserva declaró espacio para las piernas como 2 discapacitados, pero nos sentamos en cualquier lugar pero tuvimos suerte. Nuestro servidor sharon fue realmente bueno.

Asistí a la cosechadora con mi familia a la hora del almuerzo y desafortunadamente la comida me decepcionó mucho.

Visité el Katarina en varias ocasiones con amigos y familiares cuando visité el puerto deportivo y siempre encontré la comida bien preparada y el personal amable y servicial. En una ocasión reciente, nuestra familia reservó una mesa para 8 para el cumpleaños de mi hija y, como siempre, la comida y el servicio fueron excelentes. Hay algo en el menú para todos y todo estaba deliciosamente preparado y muy bien presentado. Nuestro servidor fue muy servicial, anotando exactamente lo que pedimos y asegurándonos de que estuviéramos contentos con nuestras comidas. Hay un bar de ensaladas ilimitado con una buena variedad de opciones, todas muy frescas y coloridas. También consta de muchos complementos diferentes, como salsas, panecillos frescos, migas de tocino cocido, etc. Esto se incluye como un extra si compra una comida o se puede pedir por su cuenta a un costo razonable. Los postres son deliciosos, el único problema es, ¡cuál pedir! (¡Hay tantos para elegir y todos tan agradables!). Los precios son muy razonables, por lo que este es un lugar ideal para familias de todas las edades y un excelente lugar para reunirse con amigos para almorzar. No me puedo quejar de la encantadora atmósfera de luz, el increíble personal y las excelentes opciones de menú. En los años que llegué aquí, nunca encontré nada que no me gustara. Es el lugar ideal para visitar cuando va al puerto deportivo y otras áreas circundantes. .

.....having waited in excess of 10 minutes “at the top of the stairs” as per instructions, to be seated, we gave up and went somewhere else. This is not the first time this has happened.

We came in for a flying visit to this restaurant not realising it was the first day of the new menu . Wayne our server was excellent very positive towards this and recommending us the new chicken wings which were delicious. We then had the bone yard for main which was equally as impressive. Service was friendly and efficient with great attention to detail and even persuading us in desert which we had the new cookies and cream cake which was equally as good

We came in for lunch today. New menu started today as was informed to us by the host who was nice ,friendly and welcoming . There are lots of new vegetarian dishes on the menu as this is a massive plus for us. My wife had the quorn bbq stack and I had the mousakka which was delicious. The service was really good and the waitress Sharon was good at recommending the new dishes and was telling us how her favourite was the mousakka. Would definitely recommend and be returning soon

Served by a young man, late twenties, blonde. we come in quite often, always very nice to us and recognises us when we visit even if not being served by him, food always hot and tasty and everyone usually quite nice, recommend the pitmaster or the big mixed grill, always some to take home as such a large dish, many thanks to all

Me and my wife came in yesterday evening quite late from travelling home. We were worried about the time but the lady who served us was very welcoming. I believe her name was cassey. Polite, nice to chat to and very sweet.

Don't bother going to this restaurant it has past it's sell by date with very expensive food and drink, arrogant waiter and slow service.

Harvesters use to be the "chain" to go to. Not anymore, so disappointing. The ultimate salad bar is just potato salad with basic salad and rolls. Didn't have starters as was really looking forward to the salad bar that's why. Mains were okay, I had the original combo "the half rack" of ribs were 2 short. Should be 6 only got 4, chicken was lovely best part of the meal, bland chips, salad and corn on the cob we're only edible due to the peri peri sauce I had. Fiance said here BBQ chicken stack was "okay" best part were the southern fried chicken strips. Both had the rocky horror Sunday for dessert, was nice but again just a bit boring. They need to have a rethink I feel, in a rush to get us off the table as soon as possible even though it was fairly empty.

We went with work so 2 staff and 4 disabled adults, the lift that claims to fit 5 people in was so small only 1 could go in at a time no way would it even fit a standard size wheelchair. Firstly we were sat in a good location then we were moved right to the other side of the restaurant which was a much further walk for people with mobility problems but that was ignored as that area was being closed, but we noticed others were sat there. Took ages just to take a drinks order and food order was no quicker... but food came out after 5 mins all of us complained on how dry the meat was.

I ordered few bits with my brother and the jacket potato was dryer than the sun, with icy cool vegetables aside of that. Chicken was dry but edible at least. Won’t be trying this chain again. Disappointment to say least I don’t complain so I never rose the issue to the staff, as I’m not the type. it was a jacket potato how could u go wrong but u did.

We visited on Monday 19th August for a family lunch when visiting Brighton. It was the most awful, rude and disgusting service and I do not want other families to waste their time and money. Please avoid and go somewhere decent where you are not made to feel like a nuisance rather than a paying customer. I wish we had left and gone somewhere else on the Marina. I would never go back there again.

Breakfast truly terrible, avoid at all cost. Such a shame as this chain used to be “OK” but now it appears run down and standards/quality completely thrown out the window. Never again.

We visited the Harvester Katarina today for a meal after going to the race's at Brighton race track We went to the bar to order food the bar tender whom was a middle-aged rather portly looking an was unwelcoming and frankly quite rude We then received half our order and had to return to the bar to find out where our deserts were to be told at that point that half the order was it available maybe they should have mentioned this at the time when we ordered and paid Overall diabolical service food poor quality and would not recommend this restaurant will definitely not return

We were staying in the marina and decided to eat here as I had a voucher . First impression the man who showed us to a table was very happy and helpful . We were waiting a while for our order to be taken and found out there was no rotisserie chicken which was disappointing as it was in both our orders . I asked to have the chicken breast instead and our waitress said that was fine . Well it must have been a great idea as about 5 mins later all the service staff were telling the new arrivals about this idea . My sons food was brought out at the same time as ours and had to wait for it to cool down but it looked fine and he ate most of it . My dinner and my husbands were good also . We had pudding but unfortunately his coffee was forgotten but sorted as soon as we mentioned it . It’s a good restaurant in a lovely setting just needs a few adjustments like clean windows and window ledges and clean floors as it was covered in bits of food and it was off putting but staff and food both good

Had a lovely dinner with my boyfriend from the 3 course set menu! Only 14.99 for 3 courses was great. The best part was our server Sharon. She was friendly, attentive and offered fast service. We will definitely be back!

Have eaten here many times. Service is always quick and waitresses and staff always very attentive. The food is quite basic (grills, fish, steaks, burgers, huge ice-cream sundaes) but well presented and tasty. Very reasonable prices.

Normally eat here and staff normally friendly however today if I could give zero stars I would.

What can I say? You know what you get at Harvester, cheap good quality food, the salad bar and good time. A special shoutout to our legendary server Michael, as we work in hospitality in London we were severely impressed. Would recommend!

Food was nice and the portions were big enough but some stuff came a bit cold. The service it was slow and not really profesional. Also, we found it quite expensive for the quality of food.
