Best Indian food I’ve had in years and the service was excellent. I went there on recommendation and I’m so glad I did because it’s now my favourite restaurant to eat in besides villa italia

Best Indian restaurant in Northern Ireland.

We were close to this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed by friendly staff and ordered from the 2 course lunch special menu. The food was delicious and the staff were lovely. We will return when in the area again.

Always get a great meal here, staff are friendly and attentive. Their jalfrezi is particularly good, especially if you choose the slightly hotter version. Update: it's become a regular thing now after the NI games to pay a visit, thoroughly enjoyable, Cobras are always cold and there's a decent selection of Red wines to choose from. Highly recommended. Tried the chilli massala and karahi recently both of which were superb.

Superb Lunch!! First time visiting this Indian restaurant, exceptional flavours, and super freshly prepared ingredients. The aromatic spices infused each dish, creating a delightful culinary experience. The attentive service and cosy ambience added to the overall charm. Highly recommended for those seeking an authentic taste of Indian cuisine.

As An Indian restaurant Good place for business meeting with ambience and good service. As an Indian you wont grt the food as expected to indian or asian standards to be true. Overall their Naans are truly nice and crisp. Bhuna Lamb for me was okh Chicken tikk for starter was good For food 3/5 Ambience 4/5 Service 5/5 Thank you

Felt all good, gave a reasonable tip, we thought... until we studied our bill! 10% Service charge added to the bill. Is this normal practice? Every small item was added, unlike any restaurant I have been to before. Sorry, but we won't be back 😢 oh BTW not wheelchair friendly. Stairs only/ no lift

Food was full of sugar every course , sheek Java’s had bone in it so I couldn’t continue to eat the rest and it was £40. They must have changed chiefs as it used to be good but not for me ever again

Had a booking for Tuesday 27th June for 6 people. When we arrived they had a notice on the door that read “due to staff shortages, we are closed on Tuesdays until further notice.” A call to tell us & save a journey would have been appreciated.

Arrived early and ate from early bird menu which represents good value in comparison to the dinner menu. Excellent food, all dishes hot and tasty. Service was just right without being intrusive. Would return if in the area.

Best lunch spot on the Lisburn Road, 2 course lunch for £14, the courses are fan favourites and the portions are perfectly sized for mid day.

Amazing food and excellent service, would definitely recommend.

Went on NYE. It was busy but a few tables free. We waited 25 minutes to be seated. There were 6 tables sitting empty. We were then eventually seated. A further 25 minutes passed. Not one member of staff approached us even when asked from a distance. We then left. I think they were more worried if we were doing a runner rather than addressing the poor service.

The restaurant is located up a short set of stairs. The restaurant was very well laid out and had lovely decor. We were greeted by a lot of friendly waiting staff. There was a lovely roaring fire on when we arrived which made it really cosy. We had a mixed starter and 2 main meals as well as 2 nan breads. The food was delicious. The rice and nan are separate unfortunately so that added to the cost. We all enjoyed our food and to round off the evening, we had an Irish whiskey which was very nice indeed 😀

Service always welcoming and attentive. This was our second visit within a month,previous visit fantastic all around. Food this visit overall okay but my starter was very expensive for quantity and quality.£9.50 for 3 prawns which where just not up to standard. I did not mention as my partner was treating me. Happy to discuss with management further if so desired. Unfortunately we will not be returning, at least for the near future.

Best Indian cuisine in Belfast, we have been dining at The Jharna for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Service was fantastic as always.

Food wasn't good. We went as a family, the starter was supposed to be host, but it was brought cold, then that forced to change the order for stater. Next then was main course , that also wasn't good enough.

Keeping it simple. FABULOUS! quality of food, service and attention cannot be faulted. It's a shame they are not busier as it's a true gem. Lamb was super tender, prawns were divine!

The decor of the restaurant is lovely and the staff were really nice but when we ordered of the menu for a starter we got 3 small pieces of chicken tikka which was lost on the plate and for , I think £6.50 was ridiculous, you could buy a whole chicken for that, as for the main meal, I ordered a jalfazie and rice, the rice bowl was so tiny and the jalfazie wasn't even spicy, it was more like a mild korma, at £50 ahead at our table I was disappointed as was the people in my company .I don't think I will return......DISAPOINTED

Hands down the best Chicken Madras about. Most places it is too spicy but not here it's perfect. Been coming here for 10 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. This place is run by professionals and all the staff are friendly if there is ever a problem with your food they will sort it for you and what can I say about the naan bread.... You have to try it to believe it.

Great curry delivered on time and they even threw some free poppadoms in plus a nice paper bag definitely get another curry again.

Wow, I haven't eaten here on a while and decided to order from them last night (20% off 1st app orders). The food was amazing, delivered promptly, piping hot and packed full of flavour. I will be ordering again soon and looking forward to sitting in for a meal.

Ordered the mixed starter and felt a little short changed. Having eaten curries in Yorkshire and Manchester, I was expecting a sizzling dish with the starter on a bed of fried onions. What I got was a fancy plate with a chicken leg, prawn (which isn't normally served as part of a mixed starter so extra points for that), sheekh kebab (texture tasted like it was a frozen product rather than freshly prepared) and a chicken tikka piece. I felt for almost £10 I should have got more food. Chicken chettinad for main. Waiter warned me it was hot and he wasn't lying. Really enjoyed this as it had a kick to it. Ordered an extra naan and it was served swiftly. Seemed pricey, but worth a treat.

A great place to taste classic Indian dishes in Lisburn road very close to Queens university. Various dishes are available with vegetarian options as well. The place is well organized and the staff is very friendly. Dine in, take away and delivery is available. Highly recommended this place to try classic Indian dishes

Food was left at the front door on pavement..I thought that was very rude considering I seen the girl coming and was on the way to the door as was expecting her to knock it ...but she didn't and when I opened the door it was left on the pavement! The food itself was very tasty and plentiful. The mango chutney was warm tho so we threw that out. Would order again however.

Mr Sajid's customer services were great and nice atmosphere. Their nan bread is best, Murgh chaat was nice for eating in. Chicken Karahi was below average as they put mixed peppers in that which is not the part of basic recipe, Food is over priced as well, we spend £80.00 for two people

Visited this Indian restaurant multiple times as it was beside our old flat. Lovely decor, setting and atmospheric. Staff tremendously helpful. We're both vegetarians and no shortage of options. Many tables overlooking the Lisburn Road. Good range of drinks/wine with a decent cocktail menu too. Would recommend when in the area!

Had a compulsion to eat Veg on the i visited, Straters were ok but could be better althougb very less options for Vegetarians. Main course was good, liked it. I felt Non veg main course would have been excellent.

Came here for lunch and tried their sets. Overall a good place for Indian food - nice decor, great food (chicken Tikka was nice, and mango Lassi and Bhuna lamb were amazing; chicken korma a bit too sweet to my taste), friendly staff and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

Me and my wife were very impressed by the whole experience that we have had with The Jharna restaurant today . Very pleased with cosy intimate atmosphere and nice music in background. Fast service, very tasty well cooked food, Staff were incredibly nice and very friendly, big smiles and positive vibes, absolutely fantastic. Haven't had such a good service in long time in Belfast!!!! We'll be back again, definitely!!

Visited 08/01/2022 asked to show covid passport/NHS covid pass and when seated at table asked to also scan QR code and complete test & trace info. Very welcoming staff and looked after needs of the family. Service was quick and attentive and food was as always fantastic. I’d recommend the Caribbean Mocktail very tasty 👍🏽 and the Karachi Chicken from the chef’s recommendations on the menu is worth it, choices of garlic naan/plain naan/parathas to accompany. Great atmosphere & highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Myself and my friend went for dinner last night in Jharna. Haven't been here in quite a while. Everything about it was fantastic. The food was absolutely beautiful. And our waiter, Riaz was an absolute gentleman.. he was very attentive,nothing was a problem to him. He had us nearly on the floor laughing anytime he came over to our table, cracking jokes etc. First class service from him. We will definitely be back and will be highly recommending Jharna to everyone. If I could give six stars I would.

The interior was cosy and the staff were friendly. About food- I think it was targeted at sweet-curry lovers- not for Asians. We asked the waiter to make the chicken to be hot, even to add Naga spice, which he promised, but it was very mild spicy curry. We got our starter nicely designed on a plate- but when we asked for sauce to eat with our Chicken tikka and Pakora- the waitress said we will have to pay for sauce. Not a good start! Anyway- now the main dish- I ordered Chicken biryani- quantity wasn't much for me compare to the price. And my wife ordered very hot 'chicken Tikka Masala'. When we started to eat- none of them were hot/spicy- rather sweet- not my style at all. I would request the management to look into this- and try to do something for spice lovers.

Delicious Indian food, good atmosphere and service...

Interior is good.food cooking standard was good. But we requested to make our dishes spicy but they didn’t do it.so as an asian we found the food too Sweet that Couldn't enjoy our food a bit.

Can't recommend the place even though went with high expectations for Lunch. Booking was for lunch, confirmed with staff that lunch menu was available, reached there, was provided with a 'Christmas menu' with same lunch menu, items missing and prices 50% up. So instead of £10 the price was £15 per head. Surprise Santa! Food quality was very mixed. The starters mushroom dish literally had 1 mushroom chopped and fried with some sauce, a shoddy attempt at presentation, instead of vegetable pakora, onion bhaji was served and mains of tikka was partly inedible due to some strong smell. Lamb dish was good and so was naan. All Deserts were stale at best and Mango lassi and Irish cream were again subpar so were left untouched. Overall a poor experience and once I would not repeat for a 4 people lunch spend of £96. Nice name and décor but. oh and toilets again not up to standard.

I always get a good meal here. It has become a bit more expensive in last 18 months but food is still good. Sauces excellent and traditionally made. Staff are knowledgeable and prepared to cook dishes to your pallet. Not every place would do that for you. Although the Nan bread is good I really like the rice here. The mark of a quality Indian restaurant is the quality of the rice they serve and here it is 100% reliable spot on excellent. If they buy their rice well then rest assured other ingredients are proper stuff. Not sure who cooks there these days but the food quality has remained consistently good over last 2 years. Recommended

Ambiance was lovely, food was great but disappointed there was no madras on the menu! The menu has changed since I was last in the restaurant and its definitely on the pricier side of indian restaurants. We had to wait quite a lengthy time on our meal but they were particularly busy. Altogether a pleasant tasty meal with nice surroundings.

Took a chance and tried somewhere different and am i glad i did so !! This place is amazing and the food is so fresh and tasteful it has made me realise that i never really had a true indian meal until now. Needless to say it's now my indian of choice and i live 45 minutes from it. Well pleased. Keep up the good work.

The best tasting indian food in Belfast.

Night out for a meal with the wife, arrived at restaurant to a warm welcome and seated by the window as requested. Drinks ordered and arrived and space and time was given to search the menu. Order placed and in no time food arrived and wow what a lovely meal. Our starters were tasty and the mains were outstanding. Servicewas excellent attentive but not in your face. Then finallythe bill this wasn't hard to pay. Difficult times for these places will be back again and again to support these guys. We'll done thank you for a lovely night.

Stunning. Excellent service from very pleasant staff, and the food matches it. I didn’t wait 10 mins before receiving my Vegetable samosas, & Lamb Jalfreezi. They have a house jalfreezi (sweet) and a traditional jalfreezi (which I got, really hot, but good). 5 star’s & I will definitely return

Great lunch menu, great service

I choose to go for my birthday lunch on Wednesday. The service was great and the staff were lovely. I was disappointed with my old favourites, possibly a change of chef, I ordered the vegetable pakora which was two massive balls of vegetables, the original pakora used to be small finely chopped vegetables in a lovely batter, served with salad, lemon and dips. The original dips have also changed, why change something that has worked for years? Please bring back the original pakora and dips. The main meals were very nice.

Dinner here tonight and I am sorry to say that I have never had such a terrible service before. Staff seemed stressed and not overly friendly. Food was average the tiger prawns was too over done and rice was dry and hard. Sorely disappointed

Ordered a variety of dishes to try. The Tarka Daal was the standout, delicious! Wasn’t a fan of the Chapati or Roti but liked the Naan (perhaps more a personal preference thing). Rogan Josh was nice packed with some nice flavours. Biryani was ok but nothing to write home about. Kebab meat again same sort of vibe. Staff were friendly and the relevant Covid restrictions were being followed. Would come back again. 1 thing for me. It is quite expensive, was fairly quiet when we came, which is surprising, as the food is nice, perhaps making it slightly cheaper would increase the number of people who come to the restaurant.

We have been to this place twice and the food is first class. I especially enjoyed the tandoori crayfish which is a dish i would recommend. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and the staff were polite and efficient. The Jharna has been in business a long time and its easy to see why.

Myself and my family have been regular customers of Jharna for easily 10+ years and would be very regular customers. We worked it out recently and we have spent hundreds in the past 3 months alone. My partner and I had got a Jalfrezi (Hot), pilau rice and garlic naan last week and I bit into a piece of foreign object. I literally thought I had broke my teeth and did manage to chip one of my back teeth. the object was like a small stone but on closer inspection appeared to be glass that had a purple tinge to it. I emailed the Jharna regarding this and they decided to ignore it. My partner then phoned them and it was implying that we are lying as they do not keep glass in their kitchen. They reluctantly agreed to give us a free meal but were still adamant that a foreign object in the work was not possible. Being a loyal customer for years and having never complained before, I was expecting a sincere apology and a meal and that would have it. We requested Shanti to ring us back so we could talk to him but he didn't even have the courtesy to do so. These things happen but it was how they dealt with it and also how they made us feel for even complaining like we were liars so we will not be back and will find another Indian restaurant that is convenient for us as we would eat Indian food very frequently.

Very disapointed. Rude and dismissive boy at till. The Paratha bread was thick as brick and the vegie dish was tastless, save your money , mine wasted !!

The food here is really excellent - it is authentic and freshly prepared and it cannot be faulted. I'd recommend dishes such as Matter Paneer, Tikka Chicken, madras, Bombay aloo, to name a few. Sadly the prices have gone up considerably so it makes dining out a lot more expensive than previously. This is a pity - for me - it just means I will visit less and find alternative places to try.All in all, an excellent place to try really well made food - just wish the prices were a little more realistic.

Food 10/10. However when I went in to collect the order. The man who served me had the absolute craic with me. Love customer service like that.
