Great takeaway, food quality excellent, very quick service too, would definitely recommend if you’re in Ullapool.

We’ve been waiting for Lucky House to reopen after its closure for a few months. We had an hours drive to get there and it was worth it. Ordered our food at counter and it was ready in 15 minutes. Food was delicious and plentiful - as always. Highly recommended!

The food here was amazing! Chicken curry had lots of large pieces of white meat. Portion sizes were huge and everything was delicious! Plus they were open in the evening when most other places were already closed. Note: At the time of our visit, they were only accepting cash payments.

Yes untie the tightly tied up skimpy plastic takeaway bags and check that your order inside is correct. A local lady insisted that the two young teenage boys who staff the counter did this. She’d had previous trouble on this score. I wish I’d done the same. Ribs, egg fried rice and sweet’n’sour chicken, once I’d got home, were inedibly spicy rice, 2 doughy spring rolls and 8 miniature spring rolls. A totally dry meal. Had my lodgings not been so far I’d have taken the whole lot back. Cheated out of a fair few pounds on the transaction too. I’m very upset that what I thought would be a rare treat was utterly and totally ruined! Very careless of the children staffing the joint! Buyer beware!!

An extremely popular Chinese Takeaway with an extensive menu. The food was fantastic and the service and prices were great too. I can't recommend this takeaway highly enough. Well worth 5 stars.

If you're going to visit whilst in Ullapool, book ahead. I felt very sorry for the young girl at the desk, this isn't a community that can cook a lot of food like in larger areas knowing it'll go to use. We ordered and understood it would be quite a wait but that's only natural in areas like this, they start preparing as you order. Our meal was very good, the best salt and pepper chips I've ever had. As I said, order ahead especially on the weekends where there's more visitors and please be understanding towards staff.

Stay away told an hour wait for food that has now been 1 hour and a half and still not received anything, will not be back to this establishment

Salt & pepper chips were the best I’ve ever had. Really good food and service. Sweet and sour sauce a bit too sweet for our liking but the rest was brilliant

Local couple who normally enjoy a Chinese occasionally. We got one last night and it is safe to say the worse Chinese we've ever had. £26 I'll never get back. It will be a very long time until we order a Chinese again

Very fresh, large portions, very tasty. We both enjoyed our meals and will definitely go again and would highly recommend. I would say it’s one of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve had in years.

Never again the standard of food was disgusting food was obviously reheated pasta was soggy jeat was non existent, veg was non existant Over all it was only fit for the bin after 2 fork full

Has this place changed hands? We always call here when we visit and it's always been pretty consistent but no more. After a long day travelling, we thought we'd treat ourselves to a take away. It was awful. Special fried rice was anything but and the curry sauce was tasteless and bland. Same went for the chicken chow mien which tasted burnt. The worst offender were the spare ribs though. They were foul and the sauce was horrible. Most of it ended up in the bin. Avoid.

We staying in Ullapool on holiday, I ordered a prawn chow mein, it was the most tasteless, greasiest pile of mush I have ever tasted, hardly any prawns, very few bean sprouts, big undercooked chunks of onion. Needless to say it went in the bin. Would not recommend this place, and would never call again if in the area.

Ordered my takeaway for 7pm. I turned up 10mins early and it was already sitting on the counter in bags! My spare ribs were dry and unseasoned brown, not the usual red of chinese spare ribs. Chow mein was dry and bland and mums batter on her food was rock solid!! All had to be microwaved. Horrendous new owners/chefs. Could see an overflowing waste bit without a lid by the cooker at the kitchens entrance.

Beef Satay straight out of a jar. Chicken fried rice tasteless.Only decent bit was the chips. Such a shame for Ullapool because the Jade was soo good.

Excellent food, large portions, well seasoned and delicious. We had the Crispy Shredded Beef which was beautifully crispy, the Roast Pork Chow Mein was wondeful as well. Overall a great Chinese Takeaway and would recommned.

A very average Chinese takeaway, quite expensive for what you get. It has to be remembered that there is very competition for this kind of establishment so far from the centres of population.

The Jade House has now changed hands and is now the Lucky House. Food is good - similar standard to the former Jade House. We had a takeaway of prawn dishes and vegetarian dishes and they appeared very promptly and stayed hot whilst I carried them for 12 minutes back to the house. Service was very friendly and prices fair. We would definitely come here when next in Ullapool.

I don’t know why there are bad reviews but I’ve just had sweet and sour Cantonese prawns and it was really really delicious. I tend to buy 2 dishes and one rice - one for today and one for tomorrow. Had a taste of the duck and cashews and lots of meat. Gorgeous

The meal was good, the children loved it. For me it was a bit too sweet compared to other Chinese meals.

Arrived late in Ullapool and was glad to find they were still serving food till 11 pm,I would rate this takeaway very highly, also pleasant staff

The worst Chinese takeaway ever please don’t use disgusting never seen anything like it in my life. We bought a meal for two £25 threw it away how can they get such a good review on here god only knows. The people of Ullapool can’t know any better as its the only Chinese in the area.

Was stuck for somewhere to eat late at night wish I hadn’t bothered,I was up all night being sick ,knew as soon as I’d eaten it there was something not right,and I only ate half the rest went in the bin,never again

Needing fast food after our arrival on our first night we headed for the Jade House.

I was on the way back from a day fishing in Assynt, I'd left it too late to get anything to eat in Lochinver but the Jade Garden provided me with a highly acceptable Duck Chow Mien well after ten on Saturday night - Which must make it one of the latest-serving places in Ullapool.

Delicious takeaway, the food was very hot and tasty and the prices are very reasonable. Plenty parking too.

Really good food, very quick and friendly service. After a days hike motivation to cook was low. This was just a short 5 minute walk from the campsite.

A clean takeaway with a fast and efficient service, food was hot, fresh and delicious, we visited twice during our stay, exactly what you want from a Chinese, definitely worth a visit.

Did takeaway from here and particularly liked the pancake roll which is like a huge egg roll with little bits of pork and tasty veggies. Be aware that there is no sauce with it and to buy sweet and sour cost £2.50 as they only offer a large container.

We enjoyed the Jade House on our last year visit to Ullapool so thought we would try again and see if food is of consistently good quality. We really enjoyed it. We ordered two vegetarian dishes and a prawn dish plus extra water chestnuts and bamboo shoots. The food was ready in a very short time whilst we waited in a comfortable and clean waiting area. It was piping hot and all dishes were delicious. So, we would sum up by saying this place is clean with fast and friendly service and good take-away food. We look forward to next time here!

Four of us all enjoyed our selections from the menu and were pleased with the quantities provided. The spare ribs were very good and the crispy beef was also tasty.

This was our first time here at this take-away and we would definitely use it again on furture trips to Ullapool as we are regular visitors in the village. The reception area is clean and welcoming and the lady who took our order was very friendly. I had only a short wait for the food, which was still piping hot after a ten minute walk back to our home. We ordered a king prawn dish and two of the vegetable dishes and all were very pleasant. Portions are generous and prices are very fair for a take-away of this kind. We definitely recommend it for promptness of service and good, fresh food.

Tried the the kungpo chicken, nice and spicy. We will be back again. Service with a smile as well. So definitely worth a try not your normal rural Chinese fare.

A Clean take away with cheerful staff. Our order was taken promptly and our food was cooked fresh. It was hot and delicious. Definitely worth trying.

I have to say that this was probably the best Chicken breast curry I have ever had anywhere in the world, it was beautiful. If anyone visiting Ullapool wants a take away meal, please go there, you will not be dissapointed.

Ordered the shredded chilli beef and the beef with green peppers in a black bean sauce and they were both lovely. The young lady taking the order was so lovely and friendly and a real asset to this chinese takeaway.Look forward to visiting again when back in Ullapool.

When you're craving Asian food, this is a good option. It's Chinese food cooked for western palates but still, the flavors are a welcome break from typical Scottish /western fare. Friendly and fast service, freshly cooked dishes and open later than everything else! A good option for something a little different in ullapool.

Cannot fault the food, service or prices. Most mains come with either chips or boiled rice (fried rice 50p extra) back home the only meals that come with rice/chips is the curry.Fed a family of seven for £48 and that's with extra dishes to share out.Would recommend.

Very fast service from ordering to delivery lemon chicken with fried rice very tasty as was the chicken curry. Food piping hot and good sized portions and friendly staff.

I had the beef with green peppers and black bean sauce with fried rice and a spring roll. Everything was freshly cooked and very tasty. If it was a toss up between the Chinese or the Indian I'd recommend the Jade House.

Seven of us enjoyed our food from this take away. Shame that the girl behind the counter was rather disinterested. Any way that aside if you are hungry and enjoy good take away food give this place a visit.

It's getting more and more difficult to find a decent Chinese restaurant, nice to have the choice when away with the family and this was ok, usual menu, fresh rice no exceptions to location or fresh fish dishes

Changed hands a few months ago and oh my what a awesome difference, been a few times now and can honestly say. Each time we have eaten here the food has been 1St class and the service really good. I would definitely recommend.

Very polite server and hot and tasty food. Comfortable area for seating to wait. Quick service and good value for money will definitely be back.

We had read mixed reviews and the when we pulled up outside the building looked a little shabby. Inside was clean but also looked somewhat tired with water stains on ceiling tiles, wires trailing about, etc. Any doubts were quickly dispelled however as the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was prompt and excellent - we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will certainly visit again when we are in next in the area.A word of caution though - when we were there they had no credit card facilities so we had to dash across the road to a cash point.

I'm slightly ashamed to say that we visited this place three times in five days in our recent visit we liked it so much. Tasty food, big portions and friendly service. The Satay dishes were gorgeous. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms now I'm back home....

Tried this when staying at Ardmair in July. The menu was reasonably good and the food was good in terms of both quantity and quality. Being from Hong Kong, we like to have Chinese food even when overseas from time to time and although the Chinese food in the UK is largely produced to cater for western tastes, it can be a hit or a miss. We enjoyed the food from here and the price was pretty much the same as anywhere else, but we warned, they only take cash. No credit cards. Furthermore it is just a takeaway, no seating.

Tried this and was okay, nothing special but s bit pricey. Meal was cooked fresh and I would call my order in if using using thrm again.

Great food at great value prices. Excellent quick service. Top notch grub prepared with care. If you're looking for good value take away food then this is a great option instead of fish and chips.

My wife and I have eaten from almost every chinese takeaway in scotland(we travel all year round in our motorhome)and the jade house is by far the best we have tried.We will return soon.

They were friendly, fast and decently priced, also a large choice.We got a few take-aways to eat down by the sea, and we really enjoyed them; the left-overs were eaten the following day.

Came here for a second time (last visit was August last year), and found that the Jade House had kept up it's good standards. I enjoyed a delicious takeaway!

Awful not worth a rating. Just don`t go there! We bought a take away..... and threw it away,it was so bad.

poor quality fodder. My wife's vegetation chow me in had a few little bits of chicken in it which is absolutely unacceptable. The chichen sadly didn't improve it either as it was bland and greasy. I had the dry ribs. Waste of time as they were dreadful with so little meat a vulture would've left them. The chips were so greasy and limp they were disgusting. This was the worst takeaway since last time we had one here!! A big takeaway which cost us £60. Never again.

We have never actually dined in this restaurant, but we have ordered takeaway / Carry out meals on a number of ocassions, and found each selected meal to be of a high standard, and very tasty too. Probably the best of it's kind in Ullapool, although we have not tried any others recently.

This place is a real gem. I've been eating from the jade house for about 15 years and I would never ask for another takeaway. The chilli beef is particularly good. You should visit here if you are in Ullapool.

This place doesn't deserve to be bottom of the list for Ullapool. On our annual pilgrimages, we always eat once or twice here and it never lets us down. Efficient, fast, polite service and the food is excellent.

We always visit jade house when in Ullapool. Find the food tasty and staff friendly. Makes a nice change from cooking or eating out!

Ordered chicken fried rice no seasoning and very sparse of chicken. The girl taking orders very friendly. Singapore noodles also needed seasoning or herbs

We always pay this place a call when we stay in Ullapool. I've never had a bad take away from here and the service is always very quick and polite. Highly recommended if you can't be bothered cooking or have the beer munchies.

Average food and slightly above average price but quite edible. Rice was very stodgy. Never had stodgy overcooked rice from a Chinese take away before :-(
