Well my friend and I went for Saturday lunch. The waitress clearly didn’t like working there, most sullen service I ever had. My friends meal was very good steak and ale pie. Mine which was halloumi burger could have been nice but was overloaded with salt and the French fries also covered in too much salt were very well done. We also had a desert which was acceptable but stodgy. This is the first time I have not left a tip.

We arrived about 530pm for a quiet drink. However, there was a man in the restaurant area playing car racing games on a console at HIGH volume. Ge continued until the friendly bar lady asked him to turn it down at our request. This is the first time we've been in since the new management and were disappointed.

What an amazing meal we had. The roast beef was cooked to perfection by Gino. All the trimmings were lovely too, lovely veg, crispy potatoes and huge Yorkshire puddings. No more vegan menu. We do eat fish but told was not delivered. Only option was Halomi burger with fries. Burger consisted of a cheap roll not toasted. One thin slice of tomato. Slither of lettuce. Uncooked lump of cheese and no relish. Only one bitter on tap. We were local frequent customers but fortunately there are plenty of decent pubs to visit

On Saturday 9 of us went there for dinner, there was only one young gentleman serving all food and drinks and i cant fault him. However four of the main course where not elidable!! The burger was so dry my friend couldn't eat it and the lasagne was basically seven layers of pasta sheets with nothing in between! When we mentioned this to the young gentleman, he asked did we want to speak to the chief which we said yes, however when he came back he said the chef was too busy to speak to us. The unbelievable bit was that there was only one other table of a couple that had already walked out after complaining about the food!! This is all such a shame as it has been taken over by new management and new chef. I did call on Sunday to speak to the manager and was promised a call back, to date I have heard nothing!! Basically DO NOT EAT HERE!

So we have just visited the inn, we are local and are very pleased this has been taken over and not made into an alternative establishment. Visited here with my husband and son, service good, lovely polite young man, didn’t catch his name but he was good, friendly and attentive. Food, starters, we ordered all 3, pate, nice, served with a chutney and small side salad (not enough bread, asked for more) chicken wings, lovely, and salt and pepper calamari, fresh and tasty. Main courses, hubby and I ordered the roasts, me beef, him the 3 roast option, son, fish and chips…..Course arrived swimming in gravy, looked ok, one large whole parsnip and carrot roasted, 5 large roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, cabbage/broccoli/green beans underneath two huge slices of beef. It actually looked quite appealing, but meat was so chewy only got through one slice, ate the greens and a bit of the potatoes, but gravy was cold and very gloopy, such a shame was really looking forward to a nice meal. May have been better to give the gravy on the side. No Sauces offered. I had to ask for horseradish. My husband wasn’t offered, Apple sauce/mint sauce or horseradish for his 3 option roast! Whole meal was cold..ordered wine, wasn’t offered any wine list so had to ask. My son said the fish was dry and over cooked….A real shame. We didn’t complain as it’s very early days for them, but I hope they read this review and take note. Of course we will be back, it’s our local!

Loud Muzak playing , at odds with the demographic of the customers.A TV showing horse racing has been introduced at odds with the decor and ambience. Two youths serving at the bar seemingly disinterested in serving the customer and more interested in chatting to each other. My friends and I went to The Inn On The Pond for Sunday lunch which now has new ownership and is open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner. The Sunday lunch however is beyond your expectations. There are options for both meat and vegan customers, overflowing not only with quantity but flavours that take you right back to a home cooked meal. Don't get me started on the desserts. Not one to usually complain, just felt I had too. We went here for lunch 1/11/23. I ordered the chicken salad, I had to send it back as the lettuce was brown, it looked disgusting. The waitress said that it was the sauce from the chicken ! the chicken had actually been grilled and did not come with a sauce. I also requested not to have the dressing, yet when it arrived the dressing was all over the salad The waitress took the plate of food back to the kitchen and retuned to the table stating the chef said it had oxidized!! it was clearly rotten. My sister ordered the fish and chips that also was returned to the kitchen, the batter was soft and not at all nice. The waitress did ask if I would anything else to eat. I declined as unfortunately the other options came with salad or chips. Why would I order salad again which was clearly inedible. We asked for the bill, however, when the waitress bought it over it read £35 minus my £12.50 salad, no actual total was on the sheet of paper, not really a bill at all, she went away and provided a itemised hand written bill on the till roll. Apparently, the pub has recently changed management. We will not be returning and would not recommend.

This is the first time we have visited here and unfortunately it will be our last. One order was incorrect and the service was extremely slow, and it wasn't very busy either. My daughter ordered an alcohol drink and I noticed there was something black floating in it. On closer inspection it turned out to be a dead fly. I spoke to a member of staff, who did apologise, but said she forgot to check the bottles like they are supposed to do. We were a party of 8 so did spend quite a substantial amount of money. The staff were very friendly and the food was nice enough but a very limited menu. From reading the reviews I understand it has recently been taken over so maybe this is just a blip.

We booked a table for dinner on Friday 2nd June and will never return. We had to wait 20 minutes at the bar to order drinks as the queue was so long and only one member of staff was serving. We then decided to order food so had to queue for another 20 minutes. We ordered 2 garlic breads and chicken wings to start. These took just under an hour to come out (arrived at 8:30pm). The garlic bread portion was tiny! One half of a ciabatta roll with some garlic on it and they charged £4! If we had not been so hungry, we would have sent them back. We did mention to the manager that we were unhappy with the wait time (no one warned us that the wait would be that long) and how small the portion of garlic bread was. The manager, after some back and forth, reluctantly offered to refund the 2 garlic breads but nothing more. When I said I was not happy, she said she would refund the chicken wings as well. I agreed to this and asked her to bring out our mains as soon as possible as we were so hungry. About 20 minutes later, our mains arrived. One dish was meant to be a veggie tart with couscous and salad. The plate arrived with a dry veggie tart and dry rice. When we asked why the dish was not served with couscous, the waiter went to the kitchen to check. After a couple of minutes, he came back and created a whole story about the menu suddenly being updated. The manager then appeared and after saying the menu was subject to change (even though I asked how it could change since we ordered), she admitted they ran out of couscous. This was my mums meal and after all the hassle that evening, she sent the food back to the kitchen and asked for a refund. This meant she had no dinner and didn’t dare ask for a different dish as that would take another hour…! Even at this point, the manager was very dismissive and quite rude (rolling her eyes etc.). The rest of the meals were average pub meals but were low in quality (the bun for the burger was like cardboard, the gammon steak was mostly fatty and the portion of peas for a meal equates to a teaspoon). The manager came over, whilst two people were still eating their food, and asked aside from the tart, did you enjoy the meal? At this point, the evening had been completely ruined so I said it was fine but I hadn’t enjoyed it. The manager then rudely replied to me saying ‘oh you didn’t enjoy it, even though you finished all the food on your plate’. To say I was shocked is an understatement! Given how long we’d waited, and how hungry we were, we ate the food but most of our plates were not empty. However, the main reason I said we didn’t enjoy it was the overall experience, not just the food. No one would think that meal was enjoyable and especially not for £125! The manager was clearly implying that I was complaining about nothing and trying to get some food for free. It then became quite unpleasant with the manager and she became more aggressive, whilst also claiming she was trying to sort the situation. The refund was issued incorrectly and whilst I understand mistakes happen, this whole experience was unacceptable. There are plenty of lovely pubs in the area to go to instead of here which we unfortunately made the mistake of doing.

Friendly staff, straight forward menu with not too many choices, which hopefully means that it wasn't from the freezer.

Service was friendly and quick but the food was such a let down. We ordered the prawn baguettes to find we had about 4 prawns each inside. Hardly any sauce and very dry. Salad limp and baguette was hard. I complained and asked for more prawns for my baguette to be brought back out but they had only filled one half of the cut baguette with prawns and left the other??? Absolutely starving still. 85 quid bill for a hard roll with no butter or filling. Very disappointed.

Cosy country pub in a lovely location. There is such an abundance of a menu to choose from with some great pizzas and varying flavours of pies on a regular basis , puddings and an extensive drinks menu. The pub have recently starting serving a...

Came in over the Easter weekend with my family and even though it was very busy, we were seated and looked after immediately. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and made our whole experience so enjoyable. Most of us went for a burger, and...

What a fantastic little pub! We booked the whole of Inn on the Pond for my wife's 40th birthday party (for around 100 people), and Brenda & her team were absolutely fantastic! The service and food were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble for...

After eating several times last summer and really enjoying it I was appalled by the ploughman’s’ not very good quality cheese and very little of it, I was given half a baguette, 3 tiny bits of cheese, two small pots of chutney and a bit...

So disappointed, staff, service and prices were absolutely terrible. Lemonade poured from a Morrisons bottle on the bar then charged a ridiculous price. Most of us had burgers, they were good, albeit a bottle of mayo just plopped on the table .. My friend had the roast beef, said it was chewy, veg was cold and she had to ask for some condiments and gravy. 4 of us were still eating our food when one staff member came over and started clearing the table, we couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t busy, a couple of other tables that’s all, yet Uncollected dirty glasses everywhere even over the bar, yet when we ordered more drinks we were told they had no large wine glasses so we had to finish ours which they washed up and then put cold drinks into warm glasses!!! When it came to pay the bill I had to wander out to the back area and call for someone as yet again they were all out the back. Then they added 12.5% service charge to the bill which I thought was disgusting for a free house. Not impressed. Very overpriced and shocking staff and service.
