The Imperial in Bradford

Ordered from here after getting the menu through the letterbox. Wanted to try a new place, I’ve now found my new Chinese takeaway!

Had heard good things, but this was some of the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. The meat was cheap and fatty and overpriced

Disappointed. The carpet is partly astro turf, and partly cut-off remnants. The toilet seat was removed and propped up on the cistern, there were no hand towels and the dryer didn't work. Food was bang average, never going back.

Don't know what region of cooking they do but far too many green peppers with everything for my liking Service,Speed and atmosphere All good though

The food was lovely and fresh. Very tasty. We had the starter platter, chicken and sweetcorn soup. Kung po chicken, satay chicken, and chicken chow mein. I could not fault the food or the service. Will definitely be going again.

The food was rubbish chips rock hard and spring rolls was hard could have put a window through with them. Very cramped and a strange atmosphere. Wouldn’t go again waste of money

Stunning discovery whilst on holiday. Service was excellent, price within what we thought, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend, and will visit again when we come back!

Very good food and service and value for money would recommend

Living in France for the last 20 years, a good Chinese meal is one thing I miss. The Imperial did not disappoint on our visit there on Friday night. We were met by the owners two adorable, pleasant children and then shown to our table by the lady owner. My wife and I had am amazing meal , fresh produce presented superbly and very generous portions. Reasonable prices. Wish these people would open a restaurant in Limoges. Will definitely be visiting them again before we fly home.

Great Place, a little cramped but the food is absolutely amazing and well worth the try

We ordered a meat curry bo bo chicken sweet sour chicken2x egg fried rice e2xnoodles 2xchips for delivery really bad communication from start to finish the chips where reheat or in very old oil fried noodles were way too dry hardley any chicken in the bo bo chicken call the restaurant they Wer not interested at all!! Nothing like we will refund u nothing all they did was argue with me STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE GONE DOWN HILL WHEN ABBY HAD IT WAS THE BEST SHAME ITS GONE THIS WAY

Excellent best Chinese ever and excellent service

Went on a Friday night, just one couple in there at time of visit. That said, it's surprisingly small since the refurb, which strangely enlarged the kitchen and reduced the seating area. Pretty expensive for what we had, considering it's Shipley and we could have eaten in a restaurant with much better surroundings at no extra cost.

This place used to be really good. I tryed it tonight again for the 1st time, and wow I would be so embarrassed if inwas the chef. The quality of the food used is shocking I got a special fried rice the beef is just bits of fat. I asked for beef in ok sauce and they sent crispy beef in ok sauce but wasn't too bathad until I opened it and the pieces were near black and rock rock hard also had a heap of onion skin In with the veg. The chips were like dregs of bag all small like 1 inch and hard as he'll really gone down hill and to say I spent £32 it's more than a disappointment. Never again

Fantastic food, the salt and pepper lamb chops are absolutely ridiculous. Portion sizes are very generous and all the food is cooked fresh to order. Has been recently taken over by a new couple and they are very nice people. Recommended.

Went In and ordered food was ready in 20 minutes. Salt and pepper munch box for two was well worth money got loads for the price chicken was tender and cooked lovely same with spring rolls. Lady on desk was lovely would recommend 10/10.

The meal was good however not at the same level as previously. The restaurant was busy with takeaway orders, and this was a distraction.

Werkelijk fantastisch gegeten, de wan tan soep was heel goed en rijk gevuld. De chow mein met kip en beef was yammie. Als we in de buurt zijn gaan we zeker terug.

Well disappointed, used a few time recently, delivery only, on this occasion waited ages, turned up, delivery driver had gone to the wrong address, accepted the order to find it wasn't complete and cold ! Rang up for missing item, 10 mins it will be there she said, well 30 mins later still no joy, we ate what we had (warmed up) while waiting, rang again got the surprised it hadn't arrived line, asked for a refund, which was agreed as paid online, guess what, no refund and no missing item, bad customer service probably won't use again .. UPDATE! Received refund a couple of days later, thankyou

Send food back cold they forgot a meal

It’s been an absolutely great experience. Warm and nice service, delicious food provided just as we remembered.

Not as good as expected from a restaurant with a good rep, spring rolls and prawn crackers were a disappointment seemed like the bog standard cheap versions. Beef curry wasn't that good although my partners sweet sour chicken looked nice.

Ordered the Cantonese fillet steak at £11.20. Struggled to find any meat, eventually fished 4 very small pieces of chewy beef out of a watery sauce that just consisted of onions and peppers. Very disappointing.

Chinese curry & sweet & sour chicken with chips was absolutely fabulous went for a takeaway on Saturday 6 August definitely will go again highly recommend the Imperial in Shipley

The starters, of which we had several, were all superb. Well cooked and piping hot. Same with the mains. Highly recommend.

Hands down, best Chinese takeaway we have ever had. Food arrived within 30 mins, piping hot and absolutely delicious. Delivery guy was very friendly and actually arrived slightly earlier than they had estimated, so we were still out with the dog! I spoke to him over the Ring camera and I said he could just leave it on the ground but he said he was happy to wait. Fantastic customer service. We are both veggie and had the vegetable satay which wasn't too peanuty and the salt and pepper chips were so garlicky and yummy! Will definitely be ordering again and plan to book a table in the restaurant too.

We had a range of starters which were all piping hot and extremely tasty. The same can be said of the mains which were plentiful and finished the next day.

Food were nice, but nothing special so because of that it was quite expensive. The staff were amazing though and really good service

We went here for my daughter’s 21st.the hospitality was 2nd to non and food was very good.We ordered banana fritters for desert and the owner even went out to buy some bananas so not to disappoint,highly recommended and we will return.Thank you for making this evening very special and enjoyable Cheers Pete

Food was nice and reasonably priced, staff were welcoming and friendly, meals came out separately although within minutes of each other, could do with adequate heating in the place, would of been 5 stars other than that.

Ordered a day in advance as we knew NYE would be busy and it was a large order so we thought to guarantee the order was on time, place in advance. The order was nearly £100. We placed our order for delivery at 8:30, the order finally turned up at 9:30. We called the restaurant to see where our order was, we explained that we pre-ordered in advance to which the restaurant responded with a sarcastic comment as to how organised we were. The whole point in placing the order in advance was to ensure the order was on time. An hour late for a pre-order is just not acceptable. We were just about to ring and cancel the order when it turned up. Curry sauce and an egg fried rice missing. We couldn’t even be bothered to ring and tell them considering how slow they were with a preorder, we knew there was no point. Will not order from here again.

The food was absolutely superb. The range of starters on the set menu is great and the mains are the same. This is all complimented by wonderful service.

We go here every couple of weeks as the food is good and a welcoming environment and staff. My sister and I went tonight and ordered from the early bird menu which is very reasonable prices and the amount that you recieve is more than fulfilling. Four young girls were on duty with a young girl called Natalie was in charge. All I can say is well done it's the best night I've had in there for a long time it's come to life. See you next week.

Nice little restaurant with a good variety of dishes. Decent portions too. No liquor licence - so soft drinks only.

Staying in the area for a few days, decided on the imperial for tonight’s meal, food was very good more than happy with the meal, unfortunately they do not have a license any longer and as such could not serve alcohol hence the 4 stars.

Staff memebers was trying their best, was learning, a certain member of staff had been upset due to management. When finishing our meal we tidied the plates on the table and the manger said “don’t worry about that the kids will sort it” I didn’t think this was the right way for a manager to be with his staff. Apart from that the food was brilliant,

Menu is very flexible they will do any of the meats prawns etc with any of the 6 or seven Sauce/style options such as what we hat plus chow mean, chilli etc. Enjoyed two meals here and both were excellent. Food is freshly cooked and promptly served unless you are ordering something that takes time to cook like steamed dim sum. Some prawn crackers and sauce put on table at start which is a nice touch. Staff are very friendly and efficient and the owner/manager is very "hands on" and makes you feel really welcome. Had dim sum as a main dish and sweet and sour chicken one day and chicken satay and lamb with green pepper and black bean sauce the other. Both days we had a portion of egg fried rice and mixed vegetables with it which we recommend.We had an excellent experience here

The service and quality of the food were again wonderful. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

My human says... "Just went here for a friends birthday. Lovely place, great food. No vegan options as such but they were willing to cater for me and what I had was fantastic . The Tofu was cooked exactly as I had asked for it, not many places get it. It was hands down, the best Tofu I've ever had. The staff were lovely people, the owner and the waitress Somie really looked after us and were super friendly. We will definitely be going back to this little gem of a place.".... Gr8 meal. Excellent service by Abdul. Superb portions and piping hot throughout. Added extra chillies to my szechuan chicken as requested. And even provided bread for chip buttie for part of party. Who is not really keen on chinese.Deffo be back again.Just a note: It's bring your own alcohol.

Lovely food. We had chicken spring rolls to start. Wife had duck chow mein - such was perfectly cooked and so succulent. I had lamb in black bean sauce with fried rice. Lovely flavours and lots of it. The only tiny downside is that they use chillies in lots of dishes which I find too hot, even the mild ones. But I would go again. Service lovely. Currently no alcohol, but you can bring your own.

No exaggeration, this was far superior than (for example) Chinatown restaurants we've been to in London and high-end restaurant in Epcot Centre. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly, not greasy, salty or overly sweet. What this meant is that you get all the flavours from the ingredients. E.g. Sweet and sour sauce, with King Prawns, was light whereas it can often be heavy and drown the meat. Chilli oil had a wonderful flavour, somehow the spices were roasted to give a complex flavour: crisp, with a biscuity taste, and a smokey Assam tea aroma. Decor is great, I genuinely thought this was converted Victorian pub, but the ceilings apparently very recent additions. With the cool modern colours, gives a nice ambience. We didn't see the function rooms, I understand they cater to large coach parties of Chinese tourists, not surprising!Seated straight away on a Sunday evening without a booking by Abdul, lovely to chat with him and chef Jimmy who came out to speak with our daughter who's studying Mandarin.We had: Prawn crackers (served as we browsed the menu)Appetisers:Dim SumSalt and Pepper ChickenVegetable Spring RollsSesame Prawn toastMains:King Prawns with Sweet and Sour Sauce, with boiled riceCrispy Duck, with soft noodlesChicken Chow MeinEgg Fried RiceCost with soft drinks (don't think there was a license on Sunday, but wine was on the menu) came to under £80, exceptional value, especially for the quality.Definitely one for our next Yorkshire visit!

A fabulous birthday meal for my brother and family. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. The food was exquisite and very reasonably priced; all cooked fresh to order. We will definitely be back; many thanks to Abdul and the team!

The service was absolutely excellent from the moment that we arrived until we left.Food was superb. Soup, range of starters and variety of mains all for the sum of £10.95 each. We added a half crispy duck to add an extra course. You can take your own alcohol which therefore makes this probably the best value for money meal in Bradford. Give the Imperial a go - I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Fab meal for sons 4th birthday. Lovely service and excellent food. All the family really enjoyed every minute will definitely be back again. Food was spot on best chinese about.

After several days of mediocre pub food on the canal, we decided to venture a little further from the canalside. 10 mins walk from where we moored up in Saltaire we found this lovely Chinese restaurant with unpretentious quality food, with good service. Thumbs up!

Visited with four friends and I have to say the food was excellent. We had the set menu for £12.95 and well worth it , fabulous starters and main course. The manager Aby was fantastic and advised us on which dishes to go for and it turned out to be excellent. All in all great service ,atmosphere and food so will be coming back soon with family.

I have had two deliveries this week and the food on both occasions has been very good. Service great and on time.

The service initially and throughout was great. Decided on the 3 course special for £15. Crispy duck was sublime. the next course of 6 starters was again superb. We kept changing our favourite as we went through them. Two mains to finish, which despite being great, we just couldn't finish and had the next day. You can also take your own alcohol - added bonus. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Can’t go wrong with this chinese, always spot on and never disappoints. Food top quality and reasonably priced for what you get. Cheers again Abdul

I was out on a date night with my partner we decided on Chinese and somewhere local so we thought we would give somewhere new a try so we booked in and arrived the first thing we noticed is there was no atmosphere it was really cold and there was no welcome what so ever but we thought well let’s just give it a try we sat down at our table and got drinks then on inspection I noticed my cutlery was really sticky and dirty so explained that to the manager and they was changed for us from another table my partner was sat next to the radiator an noticed it wasn’t on we looked around and noticed there was only one other table sat with a group of 7 and that clearly was not right ever as you should only be out as a 6 so clearly that didn’t care about the new government rules any way we ordered our food and stated we would like our starters and mains together which they said no problem so we sat and waited and waited it must of been at least 30-40 mins before 1 starter dribbled out and then another starter then nothing so we waited a bit for the rest but nothing at this point there was no front of house staff on front all in kitchen lots of shouting and complaining going on we thought how hard can it be to get our food with it being so quiet anyway as we where hungry we started on our starters which as you know we asked for all together with mains we finished those and waited another 5-10mins or so another starter dribbled out of kitchen which at this point I forgot i even ordered it was taking so long we decided save this starter for our main as well at this point i was getting very agitated then the waitress came across and said would you like your food packing up as if to say you eating do you want you’re bill at this point me and partner looked at each other was like wtf we haven’t even got the rest of our food which the waitress responded what other food we like our mains she was like oh you haven’t had them yet oh am really sorry so off she plot to kitchen so me and partner sat patiently but gave a time limit of how long we wait before we leave as we was getting fed up then manager suddenly appears from kitchen and apologised for the delay and confusion by then it was to far gone the we was kinda pestered by both which the waitress said are you happy so far with service and i said no then again the manager came back an was like she is new and she doesn’t not whats she’s doing which I thought was unprofessional of him saying as he was never there on front of house to help her anyway our food arrived and my dish came out wrong at this point my patience and temper was on fine line luckily the replacement didn’t take long its a shame it run so badly in there as the food wasn’t to bad it wasn’t amazing but there was just no structure to the restaurant and I noticed they do delivery and I did here a lot of calls come through and i think they was prioritising them but even failing on that as we seen a customer come for collections for the time he was ment to be there and his food wasn’t ready and that was at the point i was having my starter he was still there when i left i know this is a long read but i feel it was need because I wouldn’t want you to waste your time and money there for very poor unprofessional service hope this helps please avoid at all costs

This was our 1st visit, and right from the start it was very enjoyable. As soon as we were sat down we were given some prawn crackere with an amazing chilli sauce. We ordered salt and chilli spare ribs and salt and chilli mushrooms, unfortunately the mushrooms barely had any flavour but the ribs were very nice indeed. We ordered lamb curry and lamb satay with rice and noodles, everything was very and tasty. Service was very good and friendly. Overall it was a lovely meal and a very enjoyable experience, will definitely be going again.

We had dinner in the restaurant, and had a very nice time there. Super friendly staff, and very accommodating and flexible when it comes to making slight changes to the dishes, and there was no extra charge for these changes. Very nice experience overall, good food, and will definitely come again!

Ordered a salt n pepper box which was delicious. Good selection of ribs, wings, chicken pieces, fried rice, curry sauce, spring rolls chips etc. Will be ordering again.

Came a few weeks ago ordered food said it would be 15 mins (to collect) then said an hour.. fine I get that. Got to the restaurant at 6;10 (food meant to be ready at 6:15) the waiter working was flapping said it was his first night was checking for order said it would be an extra 15 mins ..right ok. Went and waited in the car. Went back in still not ready offered a drink for my wasted time. Owner running in and out asking people there names. Waited till 7:15 for food to finally come out. (Wasn’t a massive order) no apologies nothing. Tried again this week ordered a rice dish a speciality and a side £24.00 the food was average nothing special not as good as usual the speciality was £8.00 odd with about 5 pieces of chicken.. won’t be going again defo taken advantage of the lack of chineses open.

Never in my life have a bought a take away that was so poor. Everything was soggy (chips, ‘crispy’ chicken) the fried rice was dry and tasteless and portion sizes were on the small size too.I spent over £32 on this meal which I could have cooked better myself and for fraction of the price (which is what I’ll do in future). I called three times to complain but they kept hanging up, great service..... If you’re thinking of buying here, ask your 5 year old to cook it for you, because they would do a better job.

Placed a large order on Saturday night for a birthday gathering. Arrived quicker than expected, was all hot and absolutely delicious! Appreciated the confirmation phone call as we wanted to pay cash. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon!

Best Chinese ever amazing host so friendly and attentive but not over the top we all ate from the set menu every one cleared there plates which says it all very very good value and drinks reasonable too i would definitely recommend for any occasion and will certainly be returning regularly thanks for a fab night

Hadn’t been here for a little while, the place was empty but the menu hadn’t changed. The food was cooked fresh and served quickly, by the unfriendly waiter. It was all fine, if a rather mediocre dinning experience. Prices are average for this style of food.

Beautiful food, very warm atmosphere and such welcoming, attentive staff. Abdul and his team have really made the restaurant a must visit place. The Rainbow Diced Chicken starter is a revelation, served with crisp iceberg lettuce leaves and hoi sin sauce. Really fresh, really tasty. Prawn toast and Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup are standard, but somehow they taste exceptional here. Don't get me started on the mains! Can't praise this restaurant highly enough. Go ... Just go!

We have been here a number of times and it never disappoints. The staff are really friendly, the prices are superb value and the quality is amazing. They do the best Cantonese sweet and sour I have ever tasted. This place is well worth a visit, and is a ten/ ten in every way. Please go soon.

Went here 15th Nov 2019 with my boyfriend. Right from the beginning the staff (in particular Abdul and Jo) couldn’t have been more helpful entertaining and accommodating (Abdul should be on the stage ) . All in all we had a fabulous evening and would recommend this restaurant to everyone. You won’t be disappointed I can assure you!!

This was our first visit, lovely friendly staff. My husband and I called after a visit to Bradford. Nice tasty food, will definitely call again if we are in the area.

The sauce to go with the initial prawn crackers has chaged and is ok but not as good as before. The mixed starter was very good and plentiful. All mains were good particularly the spicy lamb. Bo bo not as good as previously.

Ordered a takeaway and this is the second time I've been disappointed. Thought the first one could have been a one off. Not so. I've eaten here in the restaurant and the difference between the two is night and day. To say the chips was the best of the food would be a surprise to some but this was the case. Ribs were ribs...hardly any meat on them. Special curry which to be fair had plenty of meat but the sauce had no flavour and tasted more of water than curry. I ordered via the app to be advised it would be here by 20:00 and a knock at the door at 19:30 from the delivery guy. A £25 takeaway is not cheap nowadays and the only upside was that the special fried rice was good which was eaten by someone else. So disappointed. Sorry but this is the last time I'll order a takeaway from here.

Decided to go for tea after passing a million times and saying that we would call in.

Komen hier elk jaar terug. Lekker eten voor een goede prijs. Inrichting een beetje rommelig en bediening wisselend. Ene personeelslid vriendelijk andere kortaf. Al met al ruime voldoende.

We happened to be walking past Imperial on our first ever visit to Saltaire so we called in as hungry tourists..... WOW

Got a family takeaway from here last night. It was absolutely disgusting. Rice was raw. Curry sauce overly sweet. Soggy chips. Avoid at all costs. Worst takeaway I’ve ever had.
