Come in today to try the new Yorkshire wrap, wow this was so tasty. Great lamb and toasties and made that much nicer by the team in today, thank you so much Olivia, Lily, Katie, Paige, Jay, Leann, Durand.

Olivia was lovely. Kept checking we were ok. The chicken burger was amazing.

Went for a wake following my friends funeral and the staff were brilliant

The staff were very welcoming, great atmosphere, had food here a lot of times and never been disappointed, reasonably priced

Came for the first day of the carvery. Was lovely food, only suggestion is to make the stuffing available for all and thicker gravy but that is more a personal preference. The staff were friendly and approachable and nothing was to much trouble. The carver was happy and sociable. Overall was a lovely experience and will definitely be coming back.

Great hosts and friendly atmosphere

Bar maid was good as gold, kept a bunch of lads that were staying in the area drinking for the remainder of the night, introduced us to the locals, and kept us drinking until close, Paige is an asset to the business and I have no doubt will continue to help the pub thrive.

From walking in you are welcomed with a smile, then ordered drinks and a meal very helpful with food orders,the food came and you could have been any top restaurant steak cooked perfect as we asked, would recommend anyone to go.

My wife and I enjoyed our meal, hunter's chicken and curry, at the Hollingwood, a spacious, pleasant bar area, we were seated in one of the cosy snugs, and Leann and chef Kerry did a great job.

The server Leann was friendly and approachable, and checked everything was OK during our meal. The chef Kerry cooked our meals to perfection, the presentation of the meals, especially the dessert was fantastic! Very friendly and enjoyable visit.

We love this pub and the food is fab and real value for money. Leann is always so welcoming.

We had dinner here as the hotel we were staying at was fully booked for dinner on Saturday night.

Lovely pub grub for a Saturday lunch time. Highly recommend the Surf and Turf. Husband had the Southern fried hunters chicken which was also great.

We was told the food was amazing and worth a visit. We arrived and it was empty wich was a shock... ordered food and drinks and it came within 20 minutes great.... Ordered mixed grill and 1 gammon steak meal... Oh dear that is were it all started to go wrong.... the mixed grill was just about average at a stretch ... the chicken must have been microwaved or pre cooked as it was as dry as you could get,onto the Lincolnshire sausage, this was fine until I got a large piece of bone about 3mm in diameter now the steak wow wow wow un eatable, cooked perfect by the way but you just could not chew it at all........ now onto the 8 oz gammon steak cooked ok ish but the fat on the gammon was more in volume that the actual gammon meat and extreamly salted.... All in all not a good visit and aid just under £30... Plus side the egg on the mixed grill was lovely..

Walked in and we received instant dirty looks from the barmaid. We were immediately made to feel unwelcome and it’s just shocking in terms of customer service. A smile wouldn’t go a miss. Sat down to discover no kids menu so completely useless and not family friendly whatsoever. Read through the responses to negative reviews. Manager is clearly illiterate and needs some training in PR. No chance I’m giving my hard earned money to this establishment so went elsewhere.

Attended a party here upstairs, the room was nicely laid out and a decent size. A bar upstairs too so we didn't have to keep going down to the main bar.

Part of a wedding party was told food served till 8.30pm at 8pm tried to order food but was told we were too late, then when they found out we were part of the wedding party being held the next day, oh we'll do you something we were told, I got a chicken burger and my wife got hunters chicken nowt special just your ordinary chain pub grub. Came to pay and the staff member insisted my wife had had a curry which she didn't, then got arsey insisted that she had and charged as such, which was ok by me as curry was cheaper. The buffet at the reception was a joke and nowhere near enough, after someone complained they put a few bowls of chips out. Staff attitude was a awful definitely won't be going back 😕

Had our wedding reception here the other month, the place looked fantastic, they did a brilliant job setting up and nothing was too much for them! All the staff was lovely and friendly, it genuinly couldn't gave gone any smoother. Thanks guys! ❤️

it was sort of ok up until i went to the toilet and was amazed to see a rat scurry from the bar opening and ran up the walkway into another room. eyes wide open whilst in toilet then returned ,paid and got out of there.

food was ok - lager was flat but the problem was being accused of stealing a pint glass when leaving the pub. even searched my wifes bag. guess what - no glass -- poor apology given. never again . was shocked..

Good food friendly atmosphere...

We attended my nephews wedding reception this weekend and what a farce. They chose to set up the room themselves as what they asked for was ridiculous, they paid £250.00 for the room and the DJ. They were told they had to clear everything away themselves by 9am the next morning. There was supposed to be 10 tables and there was only 8 so some guests had to sit on the floor to eat. The music was muffled and when it came to the speeches you could not make out what they were saying. They paid for a complementary drink for guests on arrival and asked for trinkets to be put around the men’s bottles and the women’s prosecco, there was no member of staff waiting to give the guests their drink instead they were shoved on a table at the side of the entrance doors, half the trinkets were missing, we never found them. When the end of the evening was near we wanted to put the cake back in its box but it was nowhere to be seen, we asked to see the landlords but they had gone off to Butlins apparently. The customer service well there wasn’t any. They had a sweet cart for the kids and they supplied glass jars with no lids for the sweets you brought yourself, when I told the landlord this is dangerous if the kids smash one they could get hurt he said that’s all they had, health and safety obviously does not apply to them. Would NOT recommend this venue at all. P. Hammond.

Staff very helpful, has a very nice atmosphere, very prompt service, didn't have a meal but wish I had after seeing the extensive menu. Overall very nice pub to visit.

We travelled up for a wedding in a nearby hotel. We went to the Hollingwood for some food. Unfortunately when we got there the kitchen was closed. It was a quiet night so it was understandable. But the lady behind the bar was fantastic and went above and beyond. She called a member of staff to come in so we could eat!! What magnificent service. We were so grateful as there was about 20 of us. The best service I can say with have had in any pub for quite some years. And the food was very very tasty, best pub food we have all had in a very long time. Highly highly recommended

Wow where do I start! My friend and I visited for lunch and a couple of drinks. Drinks were fine. The beef on my friends sandwich was rock hard and gristly, she asked for white bread and was served granary, and the chips tasted like they were cooked in lard. My 'cheesecake' was a mediocre spongecake that tasted slightly frozen in the middle (it seriously had never even winked at cheese). Staff were pleasant and the gent who served our food was lovely to look at. The inside stank of cigarettes. Will avoid in the future

A beautiful pub that's central of Hollingwood. It's been done up beautifully and it's just had a wonderful large patio installed. Plenty of parking. There food is beautiful and they host a number of nights such as live bands, football and physics nights. Also had a large room for parties.

Quite disappointed Me and my mum came here for some lunch and we won’t be rushing back. We’ve been before and enjoyed the food but I was actually shocked at what was served. I ordered the scampi and chips from the lunch deal along with a hot fudge cake with ice cream. I have no complaints with the scampi and chips. But the fudge cake was dry and practically cold. Not great. My mum ordered the pulled pork baguette. It was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. Wasn’t full of filling and was stone cold in the middle, It had to be reheated. The portion of chips weren’t great either, only 14 chips and no side salad. For about £8 I don’t think we will be having it again. No complaints with the staff, just think Marsdens should rethink some of the food on the menu.

I booked the venue for a private party upstairs in April 2022 for May 2023. I went 1 week before our party she hadn't got us down for booking. I had show the manger conversation. Then told us because we were having a band we couldn't have it upstairs. She said we could have the back end of the pub. When paying for the band at a cost we wanted it private. We had a few there customers walking threw our party. Her partner was a great help setting up. We had a few issues with are food he helped us out. So big thanks to him. The lady and 2 young girls were brilliant help that evening too. We left some things there and went to pick them back up the following day soon they opened. So wouldn't cause any inconvenience. Manger was sitting at a table she never acknowledge us. Never asked if we had a good night. We found out the manager had booking upstairs on the same night as us. So I think she needs to sort out her management skills and be more organised. We felt like we had been screwed over. Which is a shame.

I had a fantastic evening... and the ska band was brilliant. I will definitely be be coming back 😊

Don't go here if you are not a regular...waiting at bar to be served only 2 at bar of which one person was being served...a local walked up and bar person went straight to serve him but had seen us waiting 🤬 will never go again

We hired the upstairs function room for a family party and couldn’t be more pleased. The room is lovely and all the staff were available and ready to help whenever we needed them dispute also having a busy pub to run. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely use this room again and visit the pub. It looks like it’s the hub of the community with a real buzz of friendliness and welcome.

The bar service was good and the staff very pleasant however we had long wait for our food to be served (over an hour). The food was good quality though when it eventually came.

Went in for a drink and seen all the lovely food coming out to the tables around me so turned in to a meal and few drinks Anne was great on bar and floor service collecting plate and stuff when i was finished to enjoy my pint and food was cooked by Leann thanks girls made my night better

Love the Hollingwood. Great experience, literally no complaints. Came in for what we are trying to make a tradition of every Friday eating out and had great food (mixed grill). Food was well cooked, atmosphere was spot on. Had our own booth which I appreciate. Chef forgot our eggs as it was busy (we didn't notice!) but realised very shortly after we started eating and gave us them, mistakes happen but I think it's to their credit they realised and corrected the mistake despite being obviously busy and without needing a prompt. Will be visiting again soon!

First visit and I would highly recommend it. Friendly staff and helpful. Prices of food and drinks very good. Sky television is a plus. Very clean and spacious rooms.

Booked for the family of 12 for the Christmas Dinner the meal arrived cold. Desserts was fine. The service was excellent. Will not be going again this was on Sunday 18th December 2022

Shocking food many items off menu apparantly no food delivery.Still charged normal price and both had stomach upsets day after food not a correct temperature.
