The Hinds Head in Chorley

Came here on a recommendation and really lived up to the hype! Relaxed and pleasant atmosphere combined with delicious food (check out the garlic bread with extras) made for a winning meal. The pub being dog friendly was the icing on the cake. Will definitely return.

Great food and great staff. Well worth a visit

Popped in late afternoon and the three of us had tasty starters...garlic mushrooms and garlic bread. Our mains (pizzas) were very well cooked and again tasty. Corona was on offer at 2 for £5. Staff were very helpful and friendly

A party of 15 Thursday evening. Had side room to ourselves. Everyone's meal was served swiftly and was piping hot with generous portion sizes. Food delicious... can recommend the Fish Pie. Staff friendly and welcoming. Will return. Keep up the good work!

I stopped here on a business trip for the week, and it was great! The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were kind and friendly and the food there was exceptional. (The chicken kiev was my favourite dish). Thank you.

We had a meal jan 20th and although the food was really nice I was a little dissapointed id rang in the morning explaining that im a slimmingworld member and to ask if it would be possible to have a jacket potato with my steak and some vegetables cooked without any added fats or oils When it came the potato had butter in it and the veg sauteed didnt want to make a fuss about it while there as id rang in advance to try save the embarresment of explaining it all at the table

Had a beautiful 3 course lunch. Not rushed. There was plenty of choice on the menu.

Went here Christmas Day . My partner paid quite a bit for the two of us for a 3 course meal. I would never return. Extremely Slow service . Not attentive to customers. Slow to remove dirty plates and glasses . Food bland . If I could give no stars for atmosphere and service I would . And one star for the food. We both said we have Had better carverys for a lot less money.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Lunch ( no roast options for Xmas ) and we all choose from the set menu but a Christmas menu was available. High praise for the slow roast belly pork . Friendly and efficient waiting/ kitchen staff and an organised Manager made this busy time smoothly run. Very good and will return.

Came for my partners birthday on a Wednesday night. They do a deal, 2x steaks for £35 including a bottle of wine. What a brilliant deal. The steak was perfect, the wine lovely and I had a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The staff were amazing. Beautiful country pub with an open fire! We will definitely be back and I’ll be recommending it to others!

Nice pub. Decent food. Staff for the most part very pleasant and attentive. However, you're only as good as your weakest link. One staff member was somewhat officious and discussing customers departure whilst they're still chewing is a poor do!

Stayed here for a couple of nights, the rooms are spacious and have a luxurious feel to them with really comfortable beds. I ate food in the evening downstairs and it was very lovely can’t wait to return with family/friends for a meal here staff are great and very helpful Thanks for a great stay and lovely food

Went for a meal with friends and had the Sunday dinner with two courses. Everything was excellent from the food to the service, cannot fault it! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will without doubt be returning!

Recently visited the hinds head and I can't recommend enough. The food was delicious and portions huge. You can tell all the products are fresh and from scratch. Management was really good and all the staff couldn't do enough for you. Will be visiting more often as they host events all the time that look amazing and have different menus etc, couldn't ask for more, 10/10 service and 10/10 food.

Firstly, the overall quality of the food is beyond exceptional and the management is impeccable. No matter what you order the food is 100% going to go beyond your expectations. The manager is really friendly and so helpful. The menu is always changing so there food is always reaching others likings. Would 100% recommend and will be visiting more often. One dish I particularly enjoyed was the garlic creamy mushrooms and how much flavour was added into it.

Terrible food. Steak was cooked on dirty bacon dripping fat. Complained and recieved another one whilst i was left to eat on my own Repacement came after i had finished and was just as bad. I rang the so called manager And he calked me rude.. Definatlty a terrible manager Ruined our anniversary.

Wow what a lovely place. We stopped here as we were at Camelot Theme Park for Scarefest. We had a meal before venturing out. Too much choice. We opted for a starter snd main meal each, a cocktail and a mocktail. The rooms are of a good standard comfort and quality can recommend. We had cooked breakfasts the next day. Lots of choice on the menu and reasonably priced. Chris and Sophie served us with 110% professional and friendliness.

Booked in advance for a table for 2. We accepted an earlier request by 15 mins. Hinds Head rang me yesterday asking to push our booking back 15 mins. Today another call requesting a push back of a further 30 mins to enable them to accomodate a larger group booking. We could not accept due to it would risk us being late for another appointment, so had to cancel. No apology from the Hinds Head, just a thank you and then put the phone down. Not a good customer experience on this occasion. Been to the pub a few times and this is an exception. Normally very good service.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely veiw from the garden. We only stopped for a drink, but the food smelled amazing. Will definitely be coming back for some grub in the near future.

Attended the Hinds Head for an event this weekend (Saturday) and was charged for a Pint of Guinness, J2O and a pint of Madri. After paying I was informed the server didn't add the Guinness on to my bill so was charged an additional £4.70. I didn't think much of it at the time as I hadn't checked the amount when paying. But after checking my bank I was charge £13.40 for supposedly a Pint of Madri and a J20 (this would make each drink over £6 each!!) and then an additional £4.70 for the Guinness. Seems extremely expensive. It seems at though I was charged correctly but because I hadn't taken any notice of the amount was then charged again. Its not much in the grand scheme of things and may have been an honest mistake but annoying in its self when your on a budget.

Arrived for 7.45pm for our meal as booked and found that there was a 50th birthday party going on at the rear of the pub. We found that it a bit overwhelming in the bar area as most of the partygoers had decided to go indoors on account of the weather. We thought that we were in for a long wait but the service was excellent - special mention for Sam who went out of her way to get our table ready as the restaurant was busy at the time (always a good sign!) and our order was taken promptly. The food as usual was excellent and the staff are to be commended for the level of service we received at the bar while waiting for our table and also for the service from Sam; 10/10 we had a lovely evening. Thank you and we’ll see you again soon.

Been coming here for years. Service and food has always been exceptional Kev and Chris have a great team. Went on a quiet night but food was good and so was the Timothy Taylor's Landlord beer. Staying at Charnock Richard Travelodge this was well worth the 15min walk out of the staff entrance.

Popped in here as a treat before I photograph a wedding and honestly I made a great choice. Our food was so full of flavour, great portions and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely return, we sat inside but appreciated the lovely view outside.. Amazing place!

Visited on Saturday evening due to a craving for my favourite fish pie. Not sure if it was a different chef or a one off, but it was awful. The sauce was really watery with none of the usual flavour. There was a lot less fish and a lot more leek and it just wasn’t anything like the trusty favourite I have ordered time and again. It has put me off ordering it again unfortunately. I also had the pate to start and each time I have it the portions of bread get smaller and smaller. This time they were particularly stingy, so I ended up leaving a lot of the pate. It isn’t the same on it’s own. Not sure whether these changes are deliberate due to rising food prices, but if that’s the case; I’d rather pay more for the same quality. I didn’t say anything at the time because the staff are always so lovely, but wanted you to be aware. If this had been my first visit, I wouldn’t have been coming back.

I always find it difficult to write object reviews, without getting side tracked. So I will be brief. We went to the Hinds Head on Friday. The staff were lovely from the minute we walked in til the minute we walked, they were friendly, especially the young lady behind the bar and the waitresses, asked if everything was ok, but in a friendly way, not like some places. The food was superb I had chicken in bacon with pepper sauce and vegetables, an unusual section cabbage carrots and a bit of leek, with a basket of chips. My partner had a burger, when it came it looked huge 2 patties, bacon, cheese all on a brioche bun and chips. Both of us, struggled to finish. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, I’m not into vegetables, , but they we superb.I know it sounds pretty everyday fare, but it was well cooked and well presented and that is the benchmark for any restaurant add the fact the price was more then reasonable all I can say is winner

Went for Sunday lunch. Soup of the day was mushroom and tarragon with the taragon completely overpowering the mushrooms. Actual roast beef lunch was very mediocre. Beef tough and over cooked, vegetables ok but obviously cooked the day before and warmed up. Other main courses were ok but nothing special. Other pubs in the area offer better value. I work at a local hotel and will stop recommending this place for Sunday lunch.

A meal after a wedding at Chorley registry office for my daughter and son in law and family, food was outstanding, the best risotto I have ever tasted and other family had the gammon, belly pork and lamb shank to name a few, all incredible meals and such a lovely setting, Thank you so much and highly recommended, great service and great food and will definitely be back 😊

Booked table for 5 , all starters were very good, but the mains were very poor , ordered 2 lamb shank, never had anything as tough , couldn't even cut it , and the curry was very watery. Having eaten here before was very disappointed.

Received a really warm welcome from the team at Hinds Head, lovely pub, fantastic selection of drinks. Impressive outside area to enjoy the lovely scenery. Food was tasty, and a varied selection and attentive, but not crowding service. Stayed overnight in a beautiful room, which looked like it has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Pub noise to be expected but midweek wasn't bad at all. Would highly recommend.

Great place, great food, the only things that let them down are the scary steps from the bar to outside and the toilets which are a tight squeeze with broken seats. Plenty of outdoor seating and a great size space for kids to play.

We live in Dubai now but always visit Kevin and his team whenever we come home. Great food, service, atmosphere, surroundings, always exceptional. It’s a 40 minute drive for us from our UK base but 100% worth the effort, always, without exception.
