Great Café for good quality tea & coffee & soft drinks & an assortment of cakes & a good range of gluten-free & vegan cakes too. Friendly & helpful staff & a relaxing atmosphere.

Stunning food, excellent service, been here many times, and never had a bad meal, cannot fault this place

Absolutely lovely place to visit. Bacon, chicken and leek pasty tasted amazing. Staff friendly and helpful. Place clean and tidy.

Stick with Lavender lodge if you want to eat at Whitehall not the big restaurant.A very different experience and I’m not sure why? Went to the restaurant today at 12.30. No Shepard’s pie as they had ran out (at 12.30!) Ordered ham egg and chips and a cheese scone. The scone was frozen in the middle! Was given a refund after being offered the microwave? Chips weren’t good and ham was tasteless. Overall very disappointing as always had an amazing experience in Lavender lodge.

I had a lovely Carrot Cake which was lovely but the black coffee I had for £2.99 was very disappointing and weak considering I have it without milk or sugar I could barely taste the coffee. I know garden centres are expensive so I only go for a treat once or twice a year

Great Santa experience for the children Excellent breakfast , highly recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff .

Food was fine just a bit noisy as kids were arriving from school to see the Christmas lights etc

Very slow service, we waited for about 20 minutes to get our food, food was nice, a little pricey for what it was. The restaurant was packed, so luckily managed to get a table as someone was leaving

Cafe seems to create queues. Staff seem to be not productive. Two persons making drinks would speed the queueing. Actually glad they'd stopped breakfasts at 11.....as with all the queuing it would have been stone cold by the time you got it back to the table. Think my friend was in the queue for 20 mins or more. Yes it was busy....but their system...if they had one seems counter productive. Not impressed, probably wouldn't bother again if I go back.

I've marked down because I suffered stomach upset after eating here. Food tasted good but within 12 hours I was severely ill .

Food was okay, paninis were soft on the outside from not being toasted long enough. Chips were limited in quantity. Service - took over 45min to wait to be served and then forgot as she served what we wanted.

Service good staff friendly and helpful

Went for a coffee and a cake which was delicious (I had the cherry shortbread). There seems to be a lack of training on how to deal with allergies though.

We went for lunch with my daughter after back injury to get her walking it’s was very nice great food with very good portions not to expensive to be honest and I didn’t expect that to be the case pleasantly surprised

Really good customer Service, but is more a Caffe , then a restaurant, the atmosphere is really nice feeling.

Enjoyable place to visit and eat, plenty of space, non rushed.

A lot better than it used to be. It would've been five star if my panini was made with Italian bread, a squashed baguette just isn't the same.

Really nice atmosphere and a nice alternative to the main restaurant if you want a snack. Both restaurants are really good.light and airy good service.

Nice simple straightforward cafe. Limited range of cakes, scones etc but all of high quality, especially the Victoria sponge. Reasonably priced on a par with other local cafes etc.

Very limited....only drinks & cake. Not a good choice if you have allergies. The staff were good at letting me know what was suitable (I had one choice, better than none). It was also very drafty...we had to put our coats on.

It was busy, meat was overcooked chips where awful and not very warm.

The Herb garden restaurant is based inside Whitehall garden centre, decided to try the Herb garden on a fresh February Saturday, whilst browsing all things garden based. Plenty of spaces available, possibly because it was a little chilli in the restaurant. Had a lovely slice of cake and a decent pot of tea. Although it was not busy, service was still remarkably slow. £13 for 2 slices of cake and 2 pots of builders tea.

Only had coffee as not serving hot food so unable to comment on quality. Very clean and sunny. Staff very helpful.

Went with friends for a cup of tea and cake. It was very cold, to the point we needed coats and scarves etc on. We had tea and citrus cake, both of which were very nice, a good size pot of tea for one and a good sized slice of cake. We poured the milk into our tea and small white bits appeared floating in the tea, presumably because the milk had gone off? Went back up to the counter and the staff member replaced the 2 x teas without any quibble and we were given fresh milk. We were happy that staff were helpful and polite. The temperature was what really brought the rating down, as well as being cold there were various mat/pad things on the floor dotted about which we thought could be to catch leaks/drips from the roof? Just wrap up warm if you are going.

Okay café, I only got a drink but the family got cakes which were nice. The food looked good however the staff serving were slow and I watched people get annoyed waiting in the queue to pay whilst their food went cold and then placed it in a microwave.

It was a very busy place but the Tables were cleared almost immediately. Quite a good Menu a range of Fast Foods and Cakes

Very good restaurant, with good food which is quite pricey. Gets abit crowded at lunch times. Slightly too expensive for the quality of some of the food.

Rather over priced and the salad was tasteless.

Much improved from last visit ,coffee much better ,only thing that spoilt our visit was the hideous weather ,non stop heavy rain

Really nice Sunday lunch & a very pleasing environment. Great garden centre also.

Cold food, expensive for what it was.

Not great food dirty tables, weak coffee and some of the staff could do with training in how to greet and deal with customers. The pleasant setting is the best bit about it, that and the brown sauce 😞

Lovely flapjack but toilets do not need to smell so badly

Quick,good food with great relaxing area to enjoy your eats. There was room for parents with buggies which was well used.

We went sat lunchtime on a Sunday but food was of a poor quality and not much choice especially hot food

This place is inside the Whitehall garden centre now known herb garden restaurant,every time we visit we pop in for a drink and a bite to eat,it is a nice place serving both hot and cold meals with a varied menu for you to choose from at a reasonable price,in the summer there is outside seating.

Staff seem friendly, food is very good but the restaurant is just jamed up with tables and chairs to the point it was over crowded.

£26.00 for ham,rubber eggs and chips, jacket potatoe with hair in the salad and two cups of coffee is bloody expensive in my book especially when you have to clear a table yourself to get somewhere to sit... won't be making a return visit

Lovely place good food not good for the waistline or the wallet

Love whitehall garden centre there are 2 cafes one that will except kids and one is adult only. The have a great park there for kids as well. Can be a bit over prized.

The food is expensive, but it is normally freshly made on site. If asked the staff are willing to help you. However if you are in a wheelchair you are unable to manage alone.
