The Harbourmaster in Pembrokeshire

My friend is a mobility scooter user. The sign says disabled access to the rear and this is where we parked! No drop kerb for the scooter to use anywhere nearby. We had to get off the scooter and lift it onto the pavement which is not ideal. The area from the lift to the restaurant was being used as a store and a space for staff personal belongings, again difficult but we managed it. The staff was very helpful and did see the challenges but helped to the best of their abilities. Food was served in good time but we felt it was overpriced for what we received. I would visit again and hopefully things could be improved. The bar and the atmosphere was very nice just a shame about the difficulties at the start.

Food was great with lots of choice, staff friendly and helpful, great views over the marina, we eat there twice and pop in for just drinks twice, would recommend a visit.

Had a lovely lunch with my parents food was delicious. The young staff were extremely friendly and helpful and very polite. Would definitely recommend and return.

Stopped by early Saturday evening for food and a few drinks. The food was superb and the drinks were reasonably priced. I must say that the staff were exceptional as it was a very busy evening, but they were all friendly, attentive and professional during our visit. Will definitely visit again!

Went for curry and a pint. Delicious food and really great value. Paige and the team were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful meal.

Staff was friendly and helpful but also felt a bit disingenuous and felt like going through the motions. Multiple checks when could see we were OK. Feedback card pushed on us rather than hey have a feedback card on the stand. Nothing bad to say but felt a bit cold

Fantastic. Was there for early dinner. Had 3 courses and a few drinks. Wife a coeliac and plenty for her to eat safely. Very good selection of food from burgers and platters through to fillet steak. Service was excellent and ambience very good. Absolute value. Thank you.

Lovely bar, attentive staff. Food was delicious and the lunch menu is great value. Moroccan chicken pitta was very tasty (even if the pitta was way over cooked so that it snapped when you tried to cut it!) with great flavours. Chicken tender bbq bun with chips and coleslaw was a big hit with my partner. Both dishes were great value at £8 each. The specials board looked fantastic too. Highly recommended.

Food service was very slow, but food very good when it did arrive. I would give cocktails a miss.....ours were horrid and a waste of money. Bif no one is qualified to make cocktails I'm sorry you should not be selling them. Would I go again.... not sure. Need to make quite a few changes need to get older people to train the youngsters

It was my friend's birthday, and had booked a table the night before. I ordered a pornstar martini and it was the BEST I've ever had. Then for food a lasagna which was good enough. We were served by a very polite young man who can't have been older than 18. Will definitely be eating here again.

Having had a not so great experience elsewhere in Milford a couple of days previously we were pleasantly surprised by our meal at The Harbourmaster. We visited with family and were pleased with the size of the portions and more importantly the quality of the food. Service was attentive and everything was good. It isn't the most extensive menu so I suggest looking at it beforehand, there are a lot of burgers however we had some excellent steak and fish dishes.

The service was great. Food was not so good. Chips cold, onion rings over done unable to eat. Asian beef with linguine was tasteless. Quiche was watery really did not enjoy.

Restaurant was quite busy when we arrived but the waitress wiped down the seating so we could sit outside after a rain shower. We ordered at the bar, got the drinks and our food was delivered to our table quickly. We had beef brisket and a full rack of ribs. Both meals were hot and the meat very tasty and tender. We have spent the weekend in Milford haven and we came to the harbourmaster for cocktails of an evening to celebrate my birthday. We had been to another bar prior which was very friendly and welcoming. They have a large array of cocktails available and all sound really delicious. When our cocktails arrived, we moved to a bigger table and I unfortunately tripped on the chair/bench and spilt my cocktail which was still full. I told the staff what had happened and asked, if possible, if the drink could be replaced. The staff were unsure and went and spoke to a gentleman, Liam, who I presume is the manager. Liam came over and told me that unfortunately he couldn’t replace the drink and I would have to pay for another one. I did tell him it was my birthday and his reply was that he is ‘too cold hearted unfortunately’ and I did, ultimately pay for another one. Just quite shocked by this response. Having worked in customer service, I am aware accidents happen and would have been more accommodating. Felt like his answer was rude and unnecessary and I won’t be returning.

All food was excellent, especially the Lamb Cannon. The meat was very tender and cooked to perfection. If you see it on the specials board, order it, you won't regret it.

Visited in July with my husband & 2 children - 7 & 1yrs. Food was great when arrived... i do find it really annoying when you have small children with & it takes ages to get food out. We waited nearly an hour from order to serving. It was not particularly busy & 2 sets of diners who came in after us were served before us. I had to go get crisps from the bar to tide the baby over as she was getting a bit antsy - I had asked the waitress but she forgot to bring this so went myself in the end. I didnt feel the restaurant was really geared up for families - there is a steep stair case to get in, I coudn't see any alternative access so had to fold the pram down & lug it up with the baby as well. (I could be wrong on this & if so would recommend making the alternative access more clear)

Visited on Sunday lunch with my family (about 8 of us). Service was spot on, the two ladies and gentleman were very efficient and polite. Just arrived at Milford Haven to start our week walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.Whatcould be finer on a summer evening than to dine overlooking the Marina.We hadnt booked but they squeezed us in to an outside table at this busy place fill of locals enjoying themselves.There is an app but they were happy to let us order at the bar.Friendly and enthusiastic service.Location is fabulous - right on the Marina.I nice bug halloumi fries then Spanish cod with patatas bravas and a tomato and chorizo sauce .Very tasty nicely presented and decent quantities .With wine the bill came to £52.85 which I felt was fair for this quality and great location.What a great first evening of our trip!Reccomended.

I had lasagna is was ok not much flavour chips were nice and side salad was good i ordered a mochtail what i got was a very strong glass of vimto and ice with a lolly and vimpto chew on top and that cost £5 my frends had full alcohol ones and they were £7 i cant believe they charged £5 for a glass of squash and some cheap 10p sweets . I wont be going back thats for sure

From the outside The Harbourmaster looks promising, unfortunately if proved to be appalling. It is a modern dinner/bar with outside elevated seating and views over the marina. If appeals to the under 25 generation. The service was poor. Although I had booked a table they had no record of it. They sat us in an airless cubicle on a very hot evening. The menu is obviously not aimed at the discerning diner. It is all burgers etc., no real food. There was fish and chips on the menu but it was all gone at 19.00. Ditto the Mojito cocktail. My burger appeared to have the left overs from the garbage bin dumped on top of it with a slice of rubbery cheese melted on top. The chips were inedible. Disgusting. I hardly touched it. My wife’s crab linguine was even worse – some soggy, over-cooked, pasta with some tinned crab. She ate a couple spoonsful is all. I cannot understand how some people seem to have liked this place, except for the views.

The food was exquisite, unpretentious and affordable. There were great options for all diets - I loved the vegetarian food. The restaurant has a relaxed, friendly, welcoming atmosphere and is situated right on the marina. Highly recommend dining here and will definitely re-visit if we find ourselves in Cardigan again.

First off The food was tasty and aplenty. But when I asked before ordering our starter and main if we needed to order desert at the same time because it was getting late as they stop taking orders at 830pm. The waitress said no we will take it afterwards . After finishing our mains we waited another fifteen minutes and no staff came to our table. We eventually just paid and went. Along with this the food did take some time to come to us also. They seemed more keen in having a conversation with each other in the conservatory. The onus should be on the staff to sell especially when they say they would come to you. Not the other way around.Dissipointed. Service means everything

Ordered from the ‘BBQ’ section of the menu.The brisket was cold and the chips seemed as if they had been left out for a while. The beans looked as if they had been standing for a while, whilst being served one large, oily, awful onion ring which was not edible. Staff seemed incredibly snobby, apart from the lovely male waiter. Drinks selection was ok. Neither did myself and the rest of my table seemed pleased with the food and left the majority of it.

Booked a meal for two last night and ordered the brisket from the BBQ menu. Staff were really courteous and helpful, which was nice. Our meal took some time to arrive, which could have something to do with the food not being hot. The meal arrived on an aluminium tray covered in paper, which was disappointing. Had this meal been served on a hot plate, things might have be so much better. We are locals and I don't think we will be back.

Brilliant tasty food, excellent service and fabulous views of Milford Marina. This restaurant has always been popular, but Covid security and screens has made it appear quieter and more intimate - a benefit for couples.

We ate dinner outside (we had reserved an inside table but it was very stuffy inside, and the staff happily relocated us), and ordered a burger and chips and battered tiger prawns, with a side of onion rings. Everything was delicious, but we definitely over-ordered as we couldn't finish it all!

I recently brought some friends to The Harbourmaster on a drizzly midweek lunchtime. W head to booked but we seated quickly, menus delivered and drinks orders taken promptly. The restaurant felt very covid-safe with Perspex screens between tables. The toilets at the Harbs are consistently spotlessly clean!I ordered fish and chips. The batter was lovely, crispy and flavoured with herbs. The fish was slightly dry. Chips were delicious and the homemade tartare sauce was the highlight. We paid at the bar and it was no problem to split the bill. Service was efficient and polite.

We were a group of 4, 2 inclined to eat meat and 2 more vegetarian. We had a warm welcome. As it was lunchtime the menu was smaller than that shown online. We opted for 2 meat lasagne and 2 veggie lasagne. The portions were generous and very tasty and accompanied by chips and a small leafy salad.Desserts chosen were pancakes with berries, meringue and vanilla ice cream, a waffle with berries and a lemon cheesecake. All the meals were well presented. All in all a very pleasant experience.

On a staycation away with the girls and came to see the docks and found this place! The decor is really cute, we shared a delicious porn in the 80’s cocktail served in a teapot which was lush!! I’m gluten and dairy free so often find my options are limited but they had so much to choose from and the portions were a very generous too!Highly recommended!
