The Harbour Inn in Newry and Mourne

Went to this place twice during my stay in Annalong with my family. Once for dinner which was absolutely delicious, the best scampi any of us had ever had, great service. The second time we went in for 1 drink and stayed there for 4 hours! Great people, great service, my kids had a blast at the pool table. George the bar man is the best! The owner Trevor came out and chatted to us and gave all my kids crisps. We had a blast. We will be back!

Great pub and terrific atmosphere- but the most impressive aspect was the food. Wow best Dover sole we have ever had. Thank you for a memorable evening.

I phoned the Harbour Inn 4 days in advance of our intention to dine there. We have a dog. I was told dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. I was told they were allowed in the bar, and that we could eat in the bar. When we arrived, we were told we could not eat in the bar. I respect the fact the Harbour Inn have no obligation to allow dogs or serve food in the bar, but believe they have an obligation to tell the truth on the phone. I have every confidence management will file this review under 'miscellaneous.'

Great spot. Was up for the weekend, watched rugby match, good atmosphere; had food, was lovely and you definitely won't leave hungry with generous portion sizes. Topped off with decent selection and quality drinks and a great setting.

Got food in the bar and had a couple of pints and have to say the best food about in the country and the pints complimented it down 5 star service and 5 star food 🙌🏼

Just out for the day checking the beautiful countryside that we live in and stopped in for a drink. Bar was very quiet, warm and welcoming. Man behind the bar was friendly and gave us lots of advice. Man at the bar was just the same. Recently got a touring van so I'll be seeing a bit more of this pub.

Great service from the moment we walked through the door. Staff were very friendly and couldnt do enough. Carvery very tasty. Home made yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes roasted in oven. Meats just melted in your mouth and very tasty veg. Well worth the trip to.

We had a lovely meal overlooking the harbor. My steak was perfect, and dessert was tasty as well.

Our first time visiting Northern Ireland, and the second week we stayed in Annalong, close to the Mountains of Mourne, our local pub inn was The Harbour Inn. It is a great place to spend an evening overlooking the harbour, cozy, atmospheric with a friendly locals and good staff. The food from the restaurant (it has a restaurant and bar) was great, fresh and full of flavour would highly recommend. The beer selection was OK, I like trying local beers, and the selection was limited on tap, but they might have had a few tinnies (to be honest I didn’t ask)…love the place. Dog friendly too.

Visited on a lovely sunny Sunday for the upstairs carvery with family and some visiting friends. Booking essential. Service was first class. Starter and dessert were off the menu - very adequate selection and all delicious and between us we tried nearly everything! Main course was help yourself carvery. Great selection of meat and veg. All very tasty just as you would cook at home. From memory £18 21 and 25 for 1/2/3 courses. Excellent value. Be happy to come every Sunday if I could!

Food and service really good. Atmosphere was ok for a visitor who didnt know a lot of folk there. I self isolated at a distant table. The staff were very good and the cavery delicious.. it definitely a lovely place in Annalong for Sunday dinner.

Food - off the charts!!, Guinness like mother's milk, atmosphere - craic was 90, location - what a view!! And most importantly the staff were amazing, couldn't do enough for us, special shout out to chef Trevor Orr, can't wait to go back

We didn't eat as we had already eaten when we happened across this Bar/Restaurant. It was in a lovely secluded spot right on the waterfront. But we did get to look at the menu and we will definitely be going back for a meal or even lunch

Decided to head to the harbour inn on a glorious summer evening. On arrival the restaurant was quite full but we were directed to an empty table for two. We had the chicken liver parfait for starter and it was so good followed by a scampi and a battered haddock main course. Both were superb. The menu leans heavily towards seafood- why wouldn’t it as it sits on the edge of annalong harbour. Staff were extremely pleasant and there’s a lovely ambience. Thoroughly recommend and am already looking forward to coming back

Brilliant spot, well worth a visit

I visited on a quiet weekday, but still recieved a warm welcome and had an excellent meal of fresh fish, beautifully cooked.

Poor selection on Menu. Portions were small.

Went here with my wife and daughter at the end of December and again middle of January. Outstanding. Beautiful setting and the food more than does the location justice. Had a monkfish dish that was so good I had it again when I went back as one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. My wife had the chowder and said its the best she has ever had. Friendly staff as well.

Having eaten off the Christmas menu several times last December, we have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the 2022 Christmas menu. The menu has changed very little, if any, but it didn’t need to as it was sheer perfection. We didn’t book a table, and the restaurant was extremely busy but they squeezed us in nonetheless. Staff were under pressure but were as attentive as they could manage. The food was, as hoped, every bit as delicious as I remembered. Not only that at £18, 20 or 24 for 1, 2 or 3 courses I felt it was still very good value for money. Well done Harbour Inn looking forward to a few more December visits this year

There were 5 of us dining, we all experienced brilliant service, excellent food ' absolutely delicious' great atmosphere. I can highly recommend the 'Harbour Bar and restaurant' . Also well priced especially for the quality of the food.

Good Guinness but disappointing customer service. We visited with our child and endured a group of locals swearing, loudly and aggressively, and discussing quite inappropriate topics. We found it strange how staff didn’t ask them to calm it down- surely this venue relies on returning tourist trade as much as it relies on its local punters? We didn’t stay long and won’t be back!

Very friendly bar staff nice decor reasonable prices and good choice of drinks also bar food and restaurant but was only there couple of hours hence the four stars but will most definitely be back

Nice restaurant situated overlooking the quiet harbour of Annalong. Friendly service, advisable to book and reserve as can be quite busy for dining.

Was very disappointed when we arrived it was shut we had traveled All the way from lisburn but we will try again at a weekend

Fabulous food, attentive staff, both my husband and I had fish lobster and monkfish and we thoroughly enjoyed them, everything arrived hot, highly recommend this place.

Visited here for dinner early on Saturday evening and the food, service, restaurant and staff were exceptional. This was the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. I had Turbet and partner had half lobster 🦞 Desert crème brûlée was delicious. Amazing. Cannot wait to return. :)

We dropped in for some food on Sunday. We hadn't booked, but the staff were very welcoming and found us a table straight away. The food was delicious! There was plenty of choice for all tastes and it was fantastic value for money. The staff also went above and beyond to help us with an additional request. Aside from the delicious food and lovely staff, you'd be hard pushed to get better views, absolutely stunning! Thanks to all the staff for a great meal, we are looking forward to our next visit already!

The party liked the food they had, this was the chicken and sea bass. Does not cater very well to vegetarians. The menu is different on the website to on the day, so keep that in mind.

We love seafood chowder. We have a league table. This one went into Champions League position straight away. On a rainy day out of season it looked unprepossing, but persevere. The welcome, the food and the real fire all contributed to a memorable evening.

14 of us went in for a pre booked meal on a Saturday night. We had the 3 course set menu for £21.95. Not one of us had the slightest complaint. First class food, very friendly and efficient service. All 3 courses were fantastic. Perfect sized portions, well presented and timely. Well done Trevor and staff👏👏

Wow, what an experience. Usually, venues near harbours almost always come with a certain reputation of being rough and unpleasant. However, what a delightful experience this Inn is offering is happening on an entire different level. Everything is very clean and welcoming. The restaurant and the bar are cosy and welcoming while the staff is a joy to deal with. Well, and than comes the food. I was truly blown away by the quality and standard of the meals. The chef of the Harbour Inn certainly comes in his own league, and will leave no one in doubt about his outstanding qualities and experience. I can honestly state that I am very hard to please when it comes to food. However, the meal I was allowed to enjoy here was simply outstanding as it seems a long time ago, that I enjoyed a meal as much as here. Well done to everyone. I will certainly come back.

One of the nicest meals out I've ever had! The menu was quite limited, however every single thing we ordered was excellent. I would highly recommend the pan seared chicken with thai green curry and the crab leg starter! The food was really fresh, came quickly and absolutely worth the every penny. Stunning presentation and the friendliest staff.

Absolutely incredible food and such friendly staff! Highly recommend the scampi. When I come back to Annalong this will be top of the list to visit again.

Went last Sunday with family for carvery lunch. Excellent food and service. Had three courses. Each one excellent. Great views over the Harbour.

If you are in the area I recommend sitting outside the Harbour Inn in Annalong with a glass of wine and while away some time watching small fishing boats come and go and the antics of various dogs as they pass by on their daily walks.Very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Called in I. This evening for Dinner . The Service provided by Lisa and Sean and the Food was Absolutely First Class Exceptional Taste and Presentation . Trevor the Chef dished up a Superb Special with Hake and fennel sauce garnished with boiled potatoes and broccoli .

The staff are very pleasant and professional and the food is excellent would recommend you give it a try thank you a very enjoyable meal

Carvery was lovely and reasonably priced. Only negative wad the pavlova. There was literally no crunch at all, just the Mallow centre.

Tried this restaurant on one evening we visited the area. Good food! I had the lobster and my husband had the steak. They were both excellent. The young girl who served us was very attentive. Would definitely visit again.
