A massive shout out to Haberdashery!!! Absolutely delicious food, fantastic customer service and the coffee to die for 🤤 I am a fussy eater but the brunch at Haberdashery did not disappoint 🙌🏽 definitely will be back and highly recommended! The only place in Crouch End where food is of the high quality and prices are very reasonable 👌🏾

I went into the haberdashery today with my wife and had a lovely experience. It has recently been taken over by a Kurdish family and they were incredibly friendly and the eggs Benedict we had was one of the best I have had in the local area. They are in the process of re furbishing and I was offering my services if they need any help taking anything away as I hate to see things thrown away! They were really warm family and although they have only been open a few days (after taking over from the old owners) they really were very nice people. They even gave me a Victorian mug at the end for my daughter to use as a plant pot and I will be returning soon with more friends. Thanks guys and do let me know if you need me to help collect the hooks soon - you have my number. Best wishes to you and the new restaurant and I hope the community supports you! Tom

This is a great family owned cafe/restaurant. I've been here three times in the last two weeks alone and with family members. There's a great variety of 'brunchy' food on the menu nnicely cooked and tasty. The place was busy on each occasion and the atmosphere buzzing and cheerful with happy eaters. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We were served by Rory who couldn't have been more attentive and concerned that we e A great advantage is that the cafe is conveniently near a bus stop and almost next door to The ArtHouse and The Picture house. It's definitely a place to factor in and combine with either seeing a film or just shopping in Crouch End. I'm delighted to have discovered Brekky and Brunch and I look forward to many more visits.

Food is so tasty, and they have a wide range of different food, from fresh ginger turmeric tea to cocktail, from soughdough sandwichs to carrot cakes, not to mention their range of different green and black tea. The new owner honoured a voucher given out by the previous owners and passed on to me very recently. I had no idea but he took it in good grace and insisted we didn’t pay. I have to say it was quiet, but it was early on a cold December Thursday morning, and the other people there all appeared regulars. The breakfast baps we had were delicious and the coffee great. The staff were all lovely and we have to wish these people well in what is a tough climate.

We were recently given a voucher for this cafe but had not been in it since it’s new owners had taken over. The voucher turned out to be an old one from its previous owners but the new owner honoured it with good grace. The breakfast baps were lovely and the coffee was great. It was early on a snowy Thursday in December so quiet but it had a good community feel, with regulars familiar with the staff. We will definitely return and best of luck to the new owners of this old faithful in a tough climate.

It's my first time but the coconut cake and hot chocolate I ordered were divine! I am VERY picky with hot chocolate but theirs was a perfect consistency and it was not too sweet. Some coffee shops add sugar to their hot chocolate to hide the lack of cocoa taste but this was not like that. Perfect amount of coco and sweetness to it, it was real hot chocolate; so nice and frothy on top. The coconut cake was moist and had a beautiful texture thanks to the generous coconut that was in there. You could really taste the coconut and the slight cream on top honestly gave it a birthday cake feel. Dont even get me started with the pomegranate drops on top... My goodness. Just as you felt it was getting sweet, the pomegranate counteracted the sweetness with a delicious citrus burst! The customer service was perfect; I was given a table with a clean cup and bottle of water the second I walked in. Also, as I was leaving, I was given a free muffin! Bonus! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. I can't wait to try their salads and sandwiches! 😊

One star because the coffee was decent… I ordered the french toast, which apparently you can get with a bunch of meat, or absolutely none. I went for the ‘berries and creme fraiche’ as our other order was a full English so I could have a piece of bacon from there - that piece of bacon was the edible part. I got served this - 3 soggy pieces of bread covered in what tasted like old yoghurt and jam. I had to scrape this mess off to stop the already limp bread from becoming actual mush. I don’t know which would be worse; if this is genuinely the offering you charge over £10 for, or if you didn’t have the correct ingredients today but decided to charge me the full price for this instead. I could easily make better at home, and there are plenty of places in the area that make much better fare for the same price. I’m honestly surprised that the kitchen wasn’t too embarrassed to serve this… the service was surly, apart from the fairly friendly man who cleaned our table by simply brushing crumbs off the table and into my lap 👍🏻 very keen to support local business and wanted to support this place as it is now under new management, but I’m afraid I simply feel robbed and won’t be back, as I don’t think it’s acceptable to serve this food. The cooked breakfasts seem to be much better.

So this was the 2nd time myself and partner have had our lunch at The Haberdashery. Both times the food was simply outstanding. Howevever I will focus on todays lunch as it is still fresh in my mind. I had the falafal wrap that came with a lovely side of hummus and I think a nice red cabbage type of coleslaw. My wrap was really stacked and and it was bursting with flavour from the first mouthful to the last. The taste of all the fresh ingredients and the mint youghurt was simply delicious. My partner had the chicken and bacon ( I think club) sandwich. Her food also came with the delicious sides. She also said her lunch was amazing. We were also given a bottle of water and 2 glasses which is a lovely touch as we didn't really want to have a fruit juice or hot drink (although the menu looks great with these choices) The actual place is really nicely decorated. It's the kind of place you instantly feel relaxed and want to eat in. The staff and service is 2nd to none. They're all lovely. I can't rate this place high enough and easily the best lunch we have had in Crouch End.

TLDR version: They are amazing! Delicious food, lovely to eat out and perfect for private hire! Highly recomended! The long version: Due to our history here, me and my husband chose to host our wedding reception at the haberdashery. The new owner and the rest of the staff were so incredibly kind and accomodating, it was everything we asked for and so much more! We worked together on a HUGE menu that could feed an army, all the guests loved the food (the salmon and the cake especially got the largest number of compliments). We included a lot of the mains in the lunch menu, plus dips, canapes and salad that I was set on, alcoholic and non alcoholic punch and other drinks, accomodating guests with all kinds of food preferences and dietry requirements. The staff were always there when needed and made us all feel like superstars and at the same time cosy and at home! Thank you so much for an unforgettable day, truely!

We have always loved The Haberdashery; it was a real gem in Crouch End. The food could be patchy in general, but the breakfasts were brilliant. It was also brilliant for kids with lots of decent options (that kids are prepared to eat) and a willingness to be flexible. I understand the new team want to change things up and put their stamp on things, but there was a reason why the original owners did things the way they did. Gone is the quirky decor, cute plates and treasures that were scattered about and, as a result, the neighbourhood vibe. The menu is interesting if far more limited than it was, but many of our favourites had disappeared. The kid's porridge, the brilliant range of English breakfasts, the juices and so on. Everything we ordered was disappointing. The portions were far less generous, and nothing felt like it had been made with care. For example, when we ordered some toast, it came hastily spread with butter that we hadn't asked for. It is a small thing, but it is about choice and caring for what the customer wants. All the food needed seasoning and the kitchen was reluctant to accommodate changes. If the new owners are serious about making a go of this and succeeding in the competitive local scene, they need to do a lot better.

We were devastated when The Haberdashery closed down earlier in the year after the original owner had decided to leave London. This was our favourite brunch spot and you could pretty much guarantee that we'd be here every Sunday for our 'usual' weekend sustenance. However, we were thrilled to discover that the new owners were re-opening this popular Crouch End eatery under the same name, interior design and similar menu. Not only was the interior decor maintained, including the seasonal art exhibits that are displayed on the walls, but the menu remained surprisingly similar to the original. In fact, some of the items had been enhanced. As a self-confessed tea junkie I was delighted to see the inclusion of a range of new teas. It's not often that you find peony tea on the menu so to have a choice of these was a real treat. I've been working my way through this new list since it's reopened and have not been disappointed. For a brunch to be a success, eggs and a good Hollandaise sauce are a must. This new iteration of The Haberdashery certainly surpassed my expectations. One of the bonuses of its previous incarnation was the gluten-free alternative options which have happily, been continued by its successor. The only thing I would add to these amazing eggs Benedict brunches would be a simple green salad which its previous incarnation would include with a simple but tasty balsamic dressing. Our 9 year-old was always a big fan of their original Kid's menu but has become enamoured with several of their newer 'grown-up' menu options. She was delighted to discover that their famous sweet and savoury muffins were still on the menu, not to mention a new range of delicious cakes. In all, we are delighted that The Hab that we know and love is still very much alive and kicking. We certainly miss the original owner and staff members but really do appreciate the commitment and determination of the new team as well as the new additions to their delicious and extensive menu. We look forward to many more weekends at this cosy and friendly eatery.

This was meant to be a treat with my daughter, but he had to leave her before theirs was ready, she had to have it as takeaway as he'd an appointment. Arrived and ordered at 1.30pm. He left at 2.20pm, and she collected it after that. When it arrived home it was stone cold and tasteless, and she was really upset. Disappointing. Me and a friend came on Bank Holiday Monday and we were seated pretty much straight away. However the service was really slow. It took them half an hour to take our order and then another half an hour for our food to come. We ordered a couple of cocktails and these were really watery. The food when it arrived was OK. I have previously been here for brunch a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. I'm not sure if because they were busy that the Quality was impacted. Edit: there is a difference between giving an honest review and 'trashing' a venue. We had to get the waiters attention three times before they took our order. You cannot only be open to accepting praise as a business and should consider the feedback. EOTHO was irrelevant in this instance as we were there for a birthday brunch and had expected the scheme to have finished. Regardless its no excuse for the service, even more so for the response from the owner.

I used to love this cafe, being a Crouch End local. However i had a disappointing experience and so I haven't gone back. It would seem that due to the cost of running a cafe in Crouch End and the level of competition they have, they are not so keen on single customers. I went for lunch by myself. I ordered straight away, ate straight away and then ordered another coffee. It was brought to me by the owner who said I had 10 minutes to drink it and then I would have to vacate the seat to enable other customers to come. Other people (couples or fours) who came at the same time as me were not being told the same thing. I would have completely understood if I had been there far too long, nursing a cup of coffee. But I had ordered a full lunch and had only just been given the coffee. I tried to reason with the owner but he was a little rude and refused to talk about it. I left straight away and he had the decency not to charge me for the coffee (which I had not drank). Such a shame as I used to be such a fan. So if you're a solo customer i'd try elsewhere, but if you're in a group its a good cafe. In response to Greg. Greg i am surprised to read the lies you write - i had no book. And it is funny that you now say you remember me being there previously - on the day you said you did not realise i was a regular. Also very interesting that you lie to say i had previously brought books - it was the first time I had ever been there as a solo customer. What a shame Greg - I had previously thought you to be a decent person. But to make up lies about a customer is really a poor show.

This cute cafe in the quaint neighborhood of Crouch End has one of the best English breakfasts I’ve had. It’s quite far from central London, but I highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Visited on a weekday afternoon and the atmosphere was very different to their busy brunch weekend mornings. Very laid back and relaxed. I’ve avoided the restaurant for a while since being asked to move tables on a weekend but upon visiting again today I will absolutely be back, will just be wiser with my timings. Great food and friendly staff.

This has been a staple of the Crouch End scene for over a decade now and still winning all sorts of acclaim for their breakfasts, baking and other treats - it's not hard to see why. Everything is freshly made using quality ingredients and service is spotless. Long may it continue!

It's been a while that I've been wanting to try this cafe and a lunch with a friend visiting the area seemed as good a reason as any. Firstly, the cafe is very cute inside, with lots of cosy and stylish little touches. The staff are friendly and efficient, without being overbearing and it's nice that they do table service and bring you water without asking. The food was DELICIOUS, especially the vegan breakfast which had some amazing scrambled tofu on it. Definitely will visit again.

I was very excited to find this very cute looking I dependant cafe in Crouch End. Sadly I was greeted by a very aggressive & obviously unhappy young woman who directed me to a seat as if I was a potty old woman. Sometime later she wandered over to take my order of coffee & a muffin. Despite the lack of customers my coffee arrived a good 10 mins later & was lukewarm. No muffin!!After signally the young woman & her seemingly deliberately ignoring me I got up & asked for my muffin which was lying forgotten behind the counter. Totally ignoring me, a young man made a big deal out of bringing to my table. I suggest to the owner of this cute cafe that he/she up-skills his front of house staff. And btw - the muffin was pretty bad.

The food and staff are lovely. We really enjoy it here but the 3* is because it's always packed and trying to get a seat here on most days is like playing roulette - all luck. You can't book in advance either.

Lovely staff. Great service and a beautiful setting. Stopped in for a quick coffee and a bacon and sausage sandwich. Cooked to perfection and just what I needed first thing in the morning.

Hard to fault anything about this place. It's been around for years as a community hub, the food is fresh, tasty and the staff eager to make your visit enjoyable. And the new breakfast burrito is heaven in a wrap!!!

Went for breakfast. Looked good on the menu and fried breakfast is obviously pretty easy to make but somehow they managed to screw up everything. Fried eggs undercooked, cold toast, over-salted spinach, dry sausage (cut in half) and everything extremely greasy with a basil dressing (on top of a fried breakfast!?) I told them about the undercooked eggs and they gave me another pretty obviously undercooked one (with a layer of translucent white across the top). The neighbouring table also just sent their breakfast back and don’t look too happy! These guys obviously don’t know how to cook properly...Plus side the home-made bread my wife got was pretty good. Avoid!
