Always fantastic food from this place. Whether eat in or take away it is consistently good. Great service tonight from Sonya, lots of laughter and went the extra length for a birthday meal.

Every time we visit the food is delicious, but today was superb! The owner is great and always takes the time to talk to customer, and all the staff make you feel welcome.

Had a lovely night out last night at Chilli Thai restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. The food was fabulous, including lots of delicious vegan options for two vegans in our party. I had seafood options which were also both generous and beautifully prepared. The prices are also very good for Brighton and Hove. We’ll be going back as soon as we can.

So , while the rest of Hovel , is packed we slipped in here twice , both times around 7pm , gaff does get booked up, so go early.Food nice , but quite salty but hey dats Thai , , bottle beer quite pricy , service was good, if you haven't booked they will stick you in the middle isle , when i asked to sit on one of the many wall tables , they said "NO" those tables are booked , how do they know where they are sitting ? , anyway small point for walk ins . Enjoy

Hove I always feel gives its often noisy neighbour Brighton a close run for its quality of restaurants and Chilli is a prime example.Being a lone diner can sometimes be a little difficult but the staff here at Chili are always very friendly & welcoming.The atmosphere and quality of Thai cuisine is excellent.I particularly recommend The Floating Market Sea Bass dish with its blend of lime and chilli giving it a taste that delights the palate.The staff are all very attentive but from a personal viewpoint I would like to thank Cin for being so helpful and always having a smile however busy.My only very small reservation is that the Apple Cider on the drinks menu is not the best however it's a minor issue after all Cider and Thai food was never designed to complement each other.So whatever the occasion I do suggest a visit to Chilli I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Terrible. Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Went pre-lockdown and had a nice meal - what happened!? Must have changed chefs because this wasn’t a minor difference. Food was honestly awful. No flavour, sloppy, cold - meat and squid rubbery, simple dishes like som tum not even made right. I hate to leave a bad review but you need to get pulled up on serving food that bad.

We have had takeaways from here during lockdown but having a meal inside was amazing. The flavours were amazing. Good service. Will definitely return

Ordered a great take away . Various starters, Sarong Prawns especially good. Mains were great, Massaman beef was awesome. Duck curry equally good. Can't wait to go there for a sit down when we can. Highly recommend. Mark.

This is worth the little walk to Hove (if you’re in Brighton). Nice restaurant and great food! Only negative is that the rice is not included in the main dish.

It was my birthday on Sunday I’d read reviews decided to go to chilli I was very excited- I was sooo disappointed the starters were the best bit!! The mains were average boyfriend said he could better at home!

We visited Chilli for lunch , the food was absolutely delicious . We all had two course which are under £10. The owner was very welcoming , we will definitely come back.

Had dinner here with friends tonight. Really excellent food. 4 stars rather than 5 because we felt hurried and constant Deliveroo pick-ups can be a bit irritating for tables at the front of the restaurant.

We always have a great time when we visit Chilli Cafe. Have trouble deciding what to have as everything is delicious! Staff are friendly and vibe is fun and relaxed. Tiny courtyard garden out back if weather is good too..

Food was good and tables spaced out. BUTstaff had face masks up and said was hot. Large party at back but on separate tables but mixing freely. Long wait for food as loads of deliveroo drivers picking up take always. Also not wearing masks Also other customers not wearing masks and only 2 days in. Need to up there game and get things sorted

Whenever I come to chilli it never fails to disappoint. The food is so freshly made to perfection, tastes truly authentic and the service is wonderful. Very great atmosphere and service as well- would highly recommend

We found this place by accident and so glad we did. One of the Thai meals we have ever had, roast duck curry was delicious. We will return here whenever we are back in Brighton. Perfect

Been here a few times so thought best I did a review!. The food here never disappoints. Last night was no exception. Even though there were not many eating we were treated to first class service and the food was out very quickly. We all loved out choices but my king prawn dish was the best!We will go again.

We had a wonderful meal here, very tasty. Last time we visited Hove we tried Lemongrass opposite but it didn't have any atmosphere in there, this definitely did and the staff were very polite and friendly. We will definitely visit again when we are next in Hove.

I don’t usually do reviews but this place deserves it. The staff were extremely friendly and kind. Customer service was amazing and they were very attentive to our table. The wait for our food wasn’t long at all and The food was really tasty, I couldn’t fault any dish. Portion sizes were really good for the price, amazing good quality food! The salmon curry and duck curry were so beautifully done. We took my mum here for her birthday meal and she was really impressed with the restaurant overall. Restaurant is cosy and quite small. Thank you so much Chilli, we will definitely be back! A great evening and wonderful food. Food was served cold but it was good, spicy and flavourful. It was an authentic experience even if the service wasn’t on par with other places.

Awesome Thai restaurant. Really authentic, fresh and very friendly owners. We haven’t stopped thinking about it for a couple of days so are ordering take away to fill the cravings! Will definitely be back regularly!

I loved the Angry Duck dish and my husband enjoys the Tom Yam soup and Green Thai Curry with rice. The owner had a nice chat with us too.

Food was so good but the really golden gem of this restaurant is the service that we got from the waiter- Seb. It’s the best service I’ve ever received in Brighton. He really is a credit. He was so lovely and genuine. The food was good, price was so reasonable and arrived really fast.

Tuesday 28/7/20 I decided to pay a visit at lunchtime with a friend to one of my favorite restaurants in Hove. I think this place is not acclaimed as it should be, as everything in it, excels beyond words. The staff is always attentive and friendly, yet extremely professional and helpful. The food is exquisite, very flavoursome and light. I appreciated the fact that they kept all the layout of the tables as it used to be before covid, and now they put the sign “reserved” between a table and another for social distancing. I felt very safe eating out at this place. A must for both lunch and dinner.

Outstanding! A beautiful family run business, I cannot wait to go back, a beautiful atmosphere and lovely food, they catered to a big group of us and everybody’s food was perfect and at the same time, the chef is brilliant!

Have been going to this restaurant for a while and during lockdown been eating their takeaway. The food is quite simply sublime, if you go in person the staff are friendly, helpful and quick and service is always with a smile. For takeaway it’s again quick and the food has always arrived hot and fresh.The duck spring rolls are the best thing ever as is the salt n pepper squid. I would say it’s impossible to have a bad dish.We often order pad thai and the owner always gives me extra peanuts, which is nice.Overall whether eating in or having takeaway, if you want good Thai food for a good price come here!

Due to Lockdown we decided to try a take away from Chilli. We ordered squid, satay chicken and 2 prawn pad Thai’s, and it definatly did not disappoint.The food was packed with flavour and the pad Thai’s were the best we’ve tried! The portion size was amazing! We cannot wait for lockdown to lift so we can go and eat in too! We didn’t get a picture of the satay chicken and squid (we ate it too quickly!!)Highly recommend!!

Visited The Chilli Cafe last Saturday for lunch with my son. We both had the 2 course meal (less than £10 each!) and couldn't fault any of it! The service was friendly and quick and the food was as good as it gets! Fresh and tasty. I wish I'd ordered loads more to take home and freeze.

This restaurant is amazing. You can’t fault it, friendly service and the food is amazing. Portion size is great and it’s always so delicious! The menu has such variety all at a good price and we love the way they’ve named there dishes. We’ve been 3 times now, once for our anniversary and then my boyfriends birthday so when we were thinking of a place to go for my mums birthday it was a no brainer. The owner (so sorry but I can’t remember his name) noticed we had birthday cards on the table and gave us 2 portions of prawn crackers on the house. We were so surprised and couldn’t believe the kind gesture. All the staff are so attentive and lovely. Thank you so much for another gorgeous meal, considering all the restaurants in Hove this is definitely our favourite! See you again soon.

Had our works Christmas evening outing at the Chilli cafe and it was absolutely perfect .. brilliant food.. excellent service especially as we were a party of 16 !! The staff were on point.. A real jewel in the heart of Hove and it keeps the family run personal service and feel.. Highly recommended!!

Hove has got a number of superb Thai restaurants & Chilli is no exception. It feels very authentic from the moment you walk in-the menu is typical but just a little bit different, which is what intrigued me in the first place. Beautiful efficient service & glorious tasty food & plenty of it. We weren’t rushed so we felt totally relaxed in the warm friendly colourful ambiance....truly lovely evening.

Great evening out with the family. We all had different courses and we all enjoyed. Would recommend this place.

Visited Cafe Chilli this weekend with my teenage daughters was very impressed. The lunch menu is available on weekends as well as weekdays. Main courses at £7.50. 2 courses at £8.95. Or platter options at £12 represent phenomenal value.We opted for the 2 course menu with classic options selected.This fish cakes were perfect, homemade prawn toast delicious. Classic mains green curry and pad thai were winnersGood location and great locale.Just great.

Six of us went on Friday evening for a long overdue catch-up. Cafe Chilli was a great place for this, relaxed and with plenty of space between tables. It was busy but never felt crowded and service was attentive and quick.

Stunning food, authentic to regions of Thailand, every visit is a pleasure to experience with family, friends or romantic evening out. Owners and staff are friendly, courteous and happy to help out with explaining the menu and tweaking it to individual tastes.

I'm the fan of lunch time menu that offers healthy ( vegan) food as a part of its choice. It is very delicious! Frankly, it's one of my favourite restaurants in the area.

Been here a few times. Food is good but the service is beginning to fail. Last time we were there, we were given the bill and not offered deserts. When we questioned this, we were told the kitchen was closed (at 10PM....early for Hove) The manager was not apologetic or that bothered but eventually agreed to one desert.

Brilliant food and a great atmosphere with the front open. Authentic food with a great kick and service with a smile. Would recommend to anyone!!

Really good Thai food and weve been to many a bit different menu which was very nice we went there twice on our short stay in Brighton very good value for money but no desserts which was a shame

Went Saturday evening and really enjoyed both the fantastic meal and service, it's a really nice restaurant, great value and fabulous food.

Had a couple of takeaways and a sit in meal here and it just gets worse. Really poor food - awful rice, bland flavours, poor meat (prawn) ratio in curry and the crispy things are never crispy and usually undercooked with little inside. And its expensive... Avoid and go to the Thai a few doors down which is amazing.

Amazing food and great service. The food was of an excellent quality my wife had Duck which was beyond tasty and I had a mixed seafood with red curry which was amazing too. And vegetable was first class and perfectly cooked

My son recommended this restaurant so we tried it mid week. Lovely jungle curry and coconut ice cream. My son loves the pad Thai and my husband had a starter of mixed fish and crackling and was delighted with his food. Friendly service. We will revisit. Bonus was we managed to park outside!

The girlfriend and I love this restaurant. We have lived in hove and been visiting here for the last three years. For us, it surpasses the more expensive and smaller dishes of giggling squid and is tastier and more authentic than lemongrass. Don’t be fooled by the days it is less busy. The food is always excellent and service fantastic.

I’ve been coming here on a regular basis for the past 2 years and everything about it is great. We’ve eaten a range of things on the menu, but always try and opt for the specials if we can. The seafood is exceptional and they do amazing curries. Service is great too and they always manage to find you a table. It’s become a joke now that we can’t keep returning as we never go anywhere else, but it’s hard as every time we eat we come away very happy with very full bellies. Favourites are the squid, Samui Smile, Emperor prawns and cafe chilli curry. And it’s really reasonably priced too! AMAZING!!

We live around the corner and collected a take away order from here. I’ve had the Pad Thai a few times which I remember being fine, but the entire takeout we had was horrible. The golden crab was very greasy. The drunken noodles which were particularly bad. It’s very rare that we don’t finish food, but it tasted so bad we had to chuck a lot of it away! Don’t know if it was an off day or something, but it’s safe to say we won’t be going back to find out.

Popped in by chance on Dec 9th as we were in the area. Truly amazing food, prompt efficient friendly food, great value for money. Strongly recommended and will pop in again.

This restaurant, a minute's walk from my home is a gem. It's the best Thai food that I have eaten so far and very good value. I've eaten salmon dishes, chicken dishes and they have all been delicious. The atmosphere and service are very good and it's a place that I am happy to return to. It's fairly easy to find parking nearby but also many buses go past there. Highly recommended.

Atmosphere is nothing that remarkable, but service is prompt and the food is really wonderful... fresh ingredients, and my companions (who've lived in Thailand) assured me they found it very authentic to the best food they've had there. The Tom Yum soup is delicious, as is the sea bass. Very highly recommended.

I have been to a few Thai restaurants round Brighton and Hove, and love tom yum soup but if you order here be careful half the soup will be filled with lemon grass. I did tell the manager about this in hindsight, did like to take the criticism should have returned the soup and got it discounted off the bill. The main was ok nothing special, service mediocre, slow to bring bill probably because we complained. Not an enjoyable experience wont be going again!

What a lovely little restaurant and great food we had as a family on Sunday night. Restaurant wasn’t busy wow they are so busy with take out. Very reasonably priced and our two boys 11 & 9 loved it

A fantastic meal and we sat right by the window. The pancake rolls were amazing as were the Satta Chicken. The menu is very extensive and the food was tasty. It’s a great venue and the tables aren’t close together so there is plenty of room and you don’t feel as if you are on top of each other. The food was delivered quickly and was was very enjoyable and I will definitely be visiting the this restaurant again as it was a great experience.

The 'heavily' see bass was in fact 'hellish' over cooked mush. ~ No customer good will here, they would only take half of it of the bill because we'd ate some of it, disgraceful way to treat customers. The rest of the food was hit and miss, avoid this useless place, under new 'management'. Never was great but now terrible.

We decided to go to cafe chilli as we'd never been before and needed somewhere that had availability last minute on a Friday night. I read a couple of reviews and initially was a bit worried it wouldn't be great... however we loved it, the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great and the restaurant had a really trendy vibe. If you are looking for a Thai restaurant in Hove definitely choose cafe chilli, you won't be let down! It's much better than the chain restaurant near by!

I had the Paneng Curry, definitely one of the best I've had, and the Thai fishcakes to start were really tasty. Reasonable value, nice decor and all of the staff were very accommodating, can't fault it.

Seb and the team continue to beat everyone hands down when it comes to food,service and ambience. Best Thai food in Sussex without question.

Service,very very slow. Starters were ok, the main course food was over cooked and poor. Will not be revising any time soon.

We arrived and we were surprised at the efficiency of the staff to be seated, however this was the most efficient part of the evening. We arrived at 7.30 and were served our starters at 845 which were delicious I would recommend the squid and the soups. We waited until 10.00 for our mains which wee very disappointing,? I have eaten at many Thai/Aidan/oriental eateries but the main courses were disappointing. I had the house speciality which had prawns in the dish, I had 4 ! The market fish which does say crispy definitely came out crispy and with little white meat to pick at. I would only go here again if it was for a casual lunch NOT an evening meal.

Really liked this place. Thought the curries tasted great. The emperor prawn was also very flavorsome. I think they can improve the atmosphere a little by making the lights darker in the evening and putting candles on the tables and fairly lights around the walls like they do in most of the bars in Thailand. It was a good evening with nice staff.

Went in for my girlfriends birthday meal last week. Very friendly laid back atmosphere, we went just as it reopened at six so it was quiet although by the time we left it was packed.

Lovely family run restaurant with excellent service, great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely somewhere to bring friends, good vegetarian options, great attention to detail, lovely to feel so welcomed.

Recently had a quick take away (this is a restaurant I had been to months ago)... food is terrific. On this occasion I needed food to watch to World Cup Semi Finals!! Quick and terrific service. Large portions. very tasty.. lots of flavours. Highly recommend.

My partner and I ordered take away from here last night, we were really looking forward to it, as it came highly recommended, and always looked lovely when we walked past.

We had planned to go to another restaurant for lunch, however despite booking it was closed so we looked for an alternative. We saw some good reports for here so thought we should give it a try. What an excellent move that was, we were warmly greeted and asked if we could sit outside (They have a new garden area). The food and service were excellent.

My husband and I went back to the Cafe Chilli on 15.6.18 as we wanted to go somewhere we would guarantee a good meal. We have never been disapointed with their food, service and friendly atmosphere. We have always had great tasting meals and we are usually too full for dessert, but I have to have one anyway as they are delicious, particulalry the rice dessert. I had the Chicken Massaman and my husband had the Crying Tiger and both tasted delicious. The Thai sausage starter is also very tasty. We will definately be going again.

I ordered a takeaway from Cafe Chilli this evening and was totally disappointed it was cold, over and undercooked and such small portions it was terribly bad value for money.The Thai crackers were stale and bendy, the soft shell crab was cold and soggy, the crispy squid was so crispy you couldn't get your teeth through it and only 3 really small pieces for £5.95 a complete rip off.The holy basil chicken was luke warm with no veg no basil and 4 large lumps of red chilli and an insipid weak sauce.Total £24.00 a complete rip off never again. Now need to order another takeaway for dinner.... Something edible for one person that doesn't go in the bin.Really disappointed.

Myself and my husband have been to Cafe Chilli a number of times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent - the owners are so friendly and make such an effort to chat to customers and make them feel really comfortable. The food is delicious and very authentic. So nice to have a Singha with my penang curry! I love this restaturant and would highly recommend it.

We love this restaurant and always try to visit when we are in Hove. The service is exceptional and the owners are warm and friendly. They take a real interest in their customers and my daughter discussed her recent trip to Thailand with them at length. Children are welcome and made to feel very special. The food is well priced and delicious. The set lunch is such good value. We would highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return.

We went here on a recommendation. Service, value and venue all good. Our food was a mixed bag, our starters were a little bland but our mains made up for it. The floating market fish and half-moon duck were both very good.

Just SO average . I’m not a food snob but I do expect Thai food to have a freshness to it and not be oily ( egg fried rice was ridiculously oily )

Friends introduced us to this family run restaurant. We've been back four times since and have recommended it to others -all happy. Great food- I particularly like the massaman curry and my partner adores the sesame battered cod with ginger. Reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere and a warm and friendly host. A firm favourite.

I went with a group of three friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. The waitress who took our order and brought our food over was very friendly and fun. The owner stopped by to chat to us and was an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, all four starters and mains were perfect, and then some!!!! We were made to feel so welcome and special, i think it's fair to say we will be going back, and soon!!!

Six of us for lunch on Mothering Sunday - three veggies and three meat eaters - all very well catered for with a good choice of excellent food and drinks, all reasonably priced. Jugs of water served by default (always a plus) but would benefit from being iced and the rather dull interior could do with more than one loo - those minor points aside, Café Chilli is recommended both for lunch and dinner.

I came here last Saturday for a date, recommended by the lady I was with, but I had ready heard through the grapevine that this restaurant was poor, like most of them that line this street in Hove.

First visit to this Thai and unfortunately not overly impressed. The staff are friendly and attentive however the food is average. We started with the Duck Spring rolls and chicken satay. The satay was ok however the Duck spring roll was “Iceland” like - no flavour and carboardy.
