Perfect lunch with elderly parent and daughter. Really fabulous food. Best Thai in a long time. Friendly helpful staff. Tasty beer. Parking very easy. Nice rear garden catches the sun for when its warmer.

Lovely Thai restaurant set in the centre of Liphook. Excellent quality Thai dishes served along with a selection of British pub classics. The Penang curry & Thai green curry that we ordered were exceptionally tasty, served by a friendly waitress. The restaurant is attached to a traditional pub, hence the traditional pub food.

We were here recently and the food and service were fantastic. It is rare now to be greeted with interested and knowledgable staff. Would highly recommend.

What a great evening, atmosphere was great, food excellent and service out of this world, the Boss lady was fantastic, we a party of 4 having our Christmas party as we're all publicans. We will be back and I would strongly recommend you give this place a try. Once again thank you very much. Julian

Had lunch at this lovely pub restaurant. There was choices of Sunday roast or their Thai menu. We chose the Thai menu and had the River banquet which was absolutely delicious. The pub has a very nice atmosphere with local people and visitors are made more than welcome. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back

👎😡😤 Worst Review Alert! 😤😡👎 I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment, and I feel compelled to share my frustrations. 😡 First and foremost, the way the staff handled a simple request left a sour taste in my mouth. 🙅‍♀️👶 We were politely asked to refrain from baby talking, which seemed a bit unnecessary and uncalled for. 😠 As if that wasn't enough, they later had the audacity to ask us to change our seating arrangement, causing unnecessary disruption and inconvenience. 😤 This abrupt change greatly upset my precious little one, who was innocently engaging in her cute baby talk. The way they handled the situation was nothing short of terrifying for her, and it deeply saddened me to see her distressed. 😭😠 While I must admit that the food itself was satisfactory, it certainly did not make up for the overall dismal experience. 🍽️😕 The first receptionist we encountered was pleasant and welcoming, which initially gave us a glimmer of hope. However, the rest of the staff failed to meet even the basic standards of hospitality. They exhibited an appalling level of rudeness and lacked any hint of a smile on their faces. 😒👎 It felt as if we were burdening them with our presence, and their dismissive attitudes made us feel unwelcome and unvalued as customers. 😤 To say that this experience was disappointing would be an understatement. I had hoped for a pleasant outing, but instead, I was met with frustration, sadness, and a complete lack of professionalism. 😔👎 I expected better from a place that claims to provide quality service and a warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, those expectations were shattered, leaving a lasting negative impression. 😡 I sincerely hope that this establishment takes these criticisms seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more welcoming and customer-oriented experience. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience or friendly service. 😡🚫👎

Friendly pub with hearty thai style grub, outside garden is great when its hot but tight squeeze so "breathe in" when heading to the rear parking.

We stopped by here as we were visiting the area and wanted a pub meal before we left. A very pleasant surprise that the pub served Thai food and it was delicious! Highly recommend the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. Plus the service was great and friendly.

Supper Sunday lunch at The Green Dragon. Reasonably priced, generous portions, plenty of gravy and the lamb was delicious.

Had a couple of pints of Butcumbe real ale, very well kept cellar, whilst collecting our Thai takeaway food was superb and reasonably priced. We were not disappointed

Authentic Thai food made by Thai chefs. Good priced ales, nice atmosphere, its an over 25s pub, so that helps. Update: It's a Thai fusion pub, so I had katsu Chicken, which is Japanese, and it was incredible! There is a car park around the back that you have to drive through a very narrow entrance to get through, vw campervan size is just about OK. There is an outdoor seating area at the back, including undercover areas for smokers.

The food is just amazing,. If your looking for some good Thai food then you’ve got the right place! Everything is always so fresh and always taste amazing!

Updated review April 2023. Went for a Sunday roast, it was amazing. Was about £12 for a chicken tyme breast roast with vegetables and Yorkshire pud. I also has a dessert after sticky toffee pudding, I tucked into it straight away hence no photo lol. But yes great place for Thai and British food. Was an okay place to grab a quick bite and a drink. Few Thai items were missing. But staff friendly and a busy place. Oh an no kids under 10, lucky both ours were at an evening activity.

I went to listen to the Rehab Blues band playing and I had a lovely Thai food for dinner. I went with my husband a friend, her husband and their daughter and we all had a great evening. There was only one problem with my friend's order, she asked for a dish which was for sharing to be made into a portion for one person and they brought the one to be shared instead. Apart from that everything was fine. I can recommend this Pub to anyone who is reading this review.

Very good in general but there were a couple of negatives:- We had to keep our cutlery from the starter to use in the main course! As they are serving spicy foods, they should have a flask of water on each table!

So lucky to have such a great Thai Restaurant on our doorstep. We had the Tuk Tuk set menu on this occasion. Yet to try the bar area, but staff are friendly.

Fantastic place and great food.

This is the first time visiting The Green Dragon and oh my goodness, it's definitely not the last!! The food is incredible. Everything is so fresh and light, with gorgeous flavours and beautiful colours (I was so excited to eat the main dish that I forgot to take a photo...) I'm not usually a dessert person but after the amazing starter and main, I had to treat myself. I'm glad I did. I cannot fault the food here. The service was excellent. The waitresses were so polite, proper and in contagiously good moods. The food came out fast, which was impressive because I would have thought something this perfect would take a long time to create. They are awesome in their kitchen craft here. We dined on a Friday night, and The Green Dragon is also a bar so expect a loud environment! It's beautiful inside, with rustic size-changing tables and homely decor. The only thing I would change about this evening is where we sat. We thought it might be nice to be by an open window but it happened to be next to the smoking area and the smell has clung to our clothes. This isn't something that can be helped and no fault of the restaurant, but its something to be mindful of if you go. Very, very good value. We were a party of 3, each having 3 courses, around 6 alcoholic beverages, and a coffee, and we were able to keep the bill to a little over £100, not including a tip. We have come home with full bellies, big smiles and the takeaway menu 😈 Thank you all so much and see you again soon!

I was having an horrendous journey and wanted to stop for lunch. I don't know this area but pulled into the Green Dragon, as it had a garden and I had my 4 dogs with me. It wasn't until I went inside I realised it was only Thai based food. I ordered a mild Thai curry and a soda water with lime....I paid over £15 for this. Two small bowls of food arrived and the curry was so 'hot' it made my whole mouth tingle. There was not atmosphere, although the bar staff were lovely. .... I'm sure in the evening it's busy but it wasn't what I was looking for and nor did it deliver ...

It's now changed hands, we visited 04/04/22, the food was delicious, the staff were amazing too! Well done to whoever owns it now, we will be back.. Highly recommend this pub for Thai and English food!!

We have just had a lovely Thai lunch at The Green Dragon followed by absolutely delicious puddings. The service was also above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this venue.

Had lunch here today for my sons 35th birthday. What a lovely place. Amazing food & lovely atmosphere. Absolutely delicious & the owner was working his socks off as it was very busy. Will certainly be back!

We were so excited to try their Japanese menu as they advertised on local community board. Me and my husband are bigger fans of Japanese foods. Unfortunately our first experience was awful. Had to wait 30 min for the starters and some of the starters came after the meal. Misso soup is too salty and we had two bites from our chicken thariyaki. We do try Japanese foods from restaurants in London every other week and know the taste and value. Please serve chopsticks with sushi rolls. This was a biggest mistake.

ordered a meal for my partners birthday to collect giving two hours notice as previously when I have tried to order they have been very busy with a long wait. when the order was collected it was an extra 10 minutes wait as the curry wasnt cooked yet. We live less than a minutes walk away, and by the time we got it home everything but the curry was completely cold, and then when we got to the curry and opened the rice (which was inside a plastic bag inside the takeaway box) it was half cooked, crunchy and stuck in a lump. we cooked our own rice while I phoned to complain but the only response to rectify this was to send more rice to us (despite having told them that we had had to cook our own) and no remittance for the inedible food which we had to throw away. Very disappointed as others have raved about the food but both the food and the customer service were a let down, and very unhappy to be left out of pocket.

Sunday lunch - service good, polite young staff. On the positive ale is v well kept and tasted great. Food v average. Nothing on offer but main courses. No dessert menu etc. Couldnt spend more if we wanted. Food wasn’t up to much. Much much better available in surrounding villages. No idea on usual thai menu but wouldnt come on a sunday again

Quite young staff doing their best but a bit disorganised- caters more for regular drinkers, than diners who reserve. The food was fine, a bit expensive perhaps, nothing amazing. Just those little touches from the service missing sadly. But that'll come with experience no doubt. Not bad anyway.

We both enjoyed the Amstel and the Thai food was amazing just as good as we had in Thailand a couple of years ago. I really felt so relaxed and enjoyed my experience I will be coming back regularly. Can someone please explain why there was no track and trace applied to our visit at any point... Also the way the young staff were spoken to was a disgrace and disrespectful by a certain member of the senior management.

Absolutely delicious Thai food - the new owners are going out of their way to make an impression on their customers...we have had a takeaway meal from them two weeks in a row and despite missing an item from our order both times, we will still be returning for more! Although it is slightly on the expensive side (where isn't for food these days), the portion size is fine, typical takeaway carton sizes. We will be going to have a drink there soon, lived in the village for 5 years and this is the only pub we have not tried....but the hospitality seems exceptionally friendly and welcoming...well done to The Green Dragon!

Excellent service with polite people and the cleanliness of this place is outstanding, clearly the better of the 2 pubs in the square, cant wait to try the food as the recommendations are all very positive, Welcome to Liphook.

Didn't eat on this our first visit since lockdown but new owner was on site to chat with customers and reports about food have encouraged is to make a visit to eat one eve . Social distancing procedures are enforced well.

Dreadful experience. I couldn't believe my eyes when the landlord kicked one of the customers dogs. I definitely won't be returning. A real shame because the girl working behind the bar was very nice and helpful.

I visit this restaurant/pub regularly for either drinks or a meal with the family, the staff and Very friendly and will greet you always.The whole family absolutely love the food there are we eat there at least every two months either eating in or having a take out to eat with the tele. Pricing isn’t too bad for the wondrous tastes that fill your mouth whilst dining there. We nipped in here for a quick drink and to see what the place is like after we had recently moved to the area. Nice atmosphere and lovely pub BUT, The serving staff need to invest in a welcome. Are we bothering you by paying for a drink? By far the most expensive place compared with similar establishments in Liphook.

We had the thai set lunch for £9.95 and it was very tasty and we really enjoyed it, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be making a return visit

Lovely cosy pub with very friendly welcoming staff.... however do not come here for the thai food! We had the thai starter platter, fish cakes extremely rubbery, satay dry, dumpling flavourless, I'm pretty sure all the elements were bought in frozen and reheated. The alleged massaman curry tasted like an extremely creamy red curry. Maybe newcomers to thai food would be satisfied with the food, however if you have had good thai food previously (or even cooked it yourself) you will be disappointed

Family been here a few times and enjoyed the food previously but this time it was simply awful!Ordered duck and it was almost pure fat with very little meat. The other meals containing beef weren't very good either. Tried to complain but they argued the toss. Paid up (shouldn't have) but our family is never going there again and would strongly advise others not to either!Has there been a change of hands or a change of cook or something? Whatever the case, they ruined Mother's Day for our family.
