Lovely cafe to have breakfast. The service was great and the food was as great.

Always love visit here with grandchildren, nice food ,good staff ,friendly ,but v busy from 11am until 3pm .home baking special very tempting .

Clare created the most beautiful wedding cakes and dessert table for our wedding day. She catered for all our guests with dietary requirements and allergies, and everything was done beautifully, both aesthetically and taste. Thank you so much!

Immediate down side to me was that we were sat facing toilet just a few feet from our table, and toilet in full view while unoccupied. Toilet just beside uncovered food and also close proximity to kitchen.

Busy place! Very popular , always have to wait for a table but the queue moves fast. The crispy chicken flatbread is delicious! Huge portion, comes with chips and coleslaw for £12.50, really tasty! I love the Green Cat but this particular visit annoyed me, I was there with another person and my baby, the two adults both had a main meal, coffee and cakes and for the baby I asked for one slice of toast, nothing on it just plain. The charged me £2.30 for the slice of bread!!!!!! That’s dearer than a loaf would be! I couldn’t believe they charged anything at all seeing as the adults were ordering so much. High chairs aren’t great here for younger babies, suited to older babies over 1 year maybe more. Left a bad feeling , might be while before I’m back again

This is the cafe by which all others are measured. Bit pricey for a cafe but the food is a cut above both as sit in service or takeaway baked goods. Quaint decor and lovely service. Very busy which speaks to its quality I suppose

This bakery is heaven for me. All the baked goods looked divine. I had white chocolate and raspberry scones both visits and they were delicious. Service is excellent and I would come here everyday if I lived in Derry.

Recently spent 5 days in Eglinton. On our first morning we went to the Green Cat cafe for breakfast and WOW were we impressed. Staff were wonderful friendly and efficient. The variety of food was incredible. Our orders were taken and arrived freshly prepared within a few minutes. While waiting we enjoyed the beautiful art that adorns the walls all painted by Stuart husband of Claire the cafe's owner. Our breakfast s arrived and we're beautifully presented. They were the best breakfast s we have had anywhere. While everything was fantastic, we would have to give special mention to the French fried toast absolutely fantastic. The scones and cakes on offer are also wonderful. Needless to say we had breakfast there every morning and sampled most that was on offer. Well worth travelling for. Joy Liam & John

Just wanted to write and thank the staff at The Green Cat for their kindness today, my Mum who is 90 (soon to be 91) and now walking with sticks, wanted to take me out for lunch and there was nowhere to park near outside so I went into the cafe to see the set up and a lovely member of staff said for me to double park, beep horn and she would come out and assist my Mum in. I had my dog with me so couldn't sit inside we sat on a table but it was especially warm today and she moved a table outside so we could sit in the shade, she got my dog water without me asking and was just an angel!. Lovely attentive service, amazing vegetarian food, such a wonderful find, good coffee and even sausages for the dog. I had a beautiful goat's cheese salad with walnuts and pears it was so tasty. Mum managed a toasted sandwich and loved it. A real gem of a place and fab staff.

My daughter ordered Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, it was amazing. Excellent value loads of choices. Sandwiches, Scones and lots of cakes and desserts. We had lots left to enjoy later on this evening. Also ordered cupcakes they were amazing. We ordered for 4 people and were stuffed with lot’s left to enjoy. It was absolutely amazing well done Green Cat, well organised on collection no hassle. Will definitely order again, don’t hesitate to try it.

Such a great place! Best vegetarian breakfast I've had in a very long time, and a wonderful selection of cakes... the raspberry white chocolate scone was delicious. The service is remarkably friendly and efficient despite how busy it was. Wish I lived nearer!

We sat outside on a November afternoon because, although it was 6 Celsius, we were well wrapped up and it is a sun trap. I had a carmel square and my wife had a slice of poppy seed cake both were delicious, as was the coffee. The staff could not have been more helpful.

I popped in for a takeaway lunch for my Mum and I. Chicken sandwiches,raspberry and while chocolate scones and some st Patrick's Day cup cakes. Totally scrumptious and such a treat. The service I received was courteous and attentive.

The green cat is one of those places that you will want to visit again and again. I've been here sit in and I often take away. Currently with restrictions they are limited to takeaway but this in no way hinders the quality of their food. Their scones... Are simply delicious not to mention ginormous. Their cinnamon swirls are to die for but again huge. They have a great breakfast menu which we have had to sit in. What I also love about it is how friendly the staff are. Chat away with face masks on making it a delightful experience. They also serve Suki tea including my favourite Belfast brew. If you are going here for a tea and a bun.. Yes it might be a smidge more expensive that a chain bakery or cafe but you cannot fault them for their service their quality their cleanliness or the experience ( when you can sit in) Overall highly recommend ( my lockdown gains are purely down to their delicious raspberry and white chocolate scones and amazing brownies)

Everytime I come here the food is incredible. From the pancakes to the breakfasts to the toasties to the chips to the cakes. Everything is extremely tasty and I have never been let down. It's myself and my partner's "go to" location when we fancy breakfast/lunch even if it is a 15/20 mins drive outside of town. Keep up the good work GCB :)

Called here with friends last week, food was nice, we all had burgers and chips.My friend found a big hair in her chips and immediately returned it to the waiter and they brought a fresh portionWe found the tables were very close together and felt very uncomfortable with the lack of social distancing.

I liked The Green Cat Bakery even though I got lunch rather than a traybake or donut the food was still good. Excellent value for money because everything was fresh and lovely. I definitely think it is worth going to.

Pre-Covid I would have gave 5 stars but today was a very uncomfortable experience. We phoned ahead to book a table thinking it would mean being guaranteed a social distancing table....unfortunately not. I understand the weather doesn't help, but there was a queue the length of the room between the tables leaving no space at all, leaving our party of 4 feeling unsafe. I feel if a few tables were removed to allow for a takeaway queue and payment at the table for customers eating in would make it much safer and more enjoyable.

Went in for lunch coffee when waiting for bus to Limavady Wasn’t sure what I wanted due to timings etc but got no help from staff

Been here a few times get things for a take away. The sign says ‘collection only’ but they do over the counter orders. Usually the staff are nice here but last two times I’ve been I have felt like my custom has annoyed them. When I approach they have said both times ‘what is it you want’ which isn’t very welcoming, I wanted to have a little look through the window to see what they had but I felt I had to take whatever I could see. They wanted me gone very quickly and didn’t try to sell other things. I know things are hard with COVID but I was outside, no one was in the que, so I think the staff could take a little more time to be nice. I won’t be back.

had an appointment in AAH after which I treated myself to a lovely breakfast at the green cat bakery - we both had a lovely meal staff was so friendly - used the toilets which were lovely and clean - will have to visit again as the traybakes look so lovely - would highly recommend a visit

First visit today with mum dad and sister. Landed at 11am on a Tues morning and there was 1 free table! Busy spot. But easy to see why.Lovely interior. Bright. Service was spot on. Staff very friendly. Good selection on the (breakfast til 12pm) menu. Good choices for vegan alternatives.We were all happy with our food choices. bacon eggs and toast (x2), avocado sourdough and eggs royale, tea (x2), latte and cappuccino, then 4x scones and 4x traybakes to take away, all in was £48.50.Recommended. Def worth a call in.

On a recent visit to the north west we were passing through the village of Eglinton when we decided to stop for lunch. Parking in the first available space on the main street we found ourselves outside this quaint little cafe. What a stroke of luck. We thankfully were given the last available table. All 4 of us settled on different main courses and we all agreed the food was excellent. The cakes, buns and sweets on offer looked divine (apparently all made in house) but we were too stuffed to try any of them. Good food is all very well but it isn't all a cafe like this needs. Staff are a huge part of a successful business and the staff on duty were all very friendly and efficient and all were very keen to make sure we were pleased with our food.When we were leaving approx 8-10 people were waiting for tables which is always a good sign. Our son has recently moved to the area so hopefully this won't be our last visit to the Green Cat and next time I'm leaving room for some of those cakes. We cant recommend this fantastic little cafe highly enough so if you find yourself in the area as we did go ahead and treat yourself.

The staff are always friendly, the food is consistently good. Food is always fresh, good variety of menu, buns are relish. Definitely worth a visit. 😀

Found this place today....and delighted we decided to pop in for lunch....we had a chicken quesadilla and the goats cheese, walnut and pear salad and both went down a treat...speaking of treats, we finished off lunch with something sweet, all home made and delicious....the staff were friendly and attentive.....we will be back...to sample all of the other tempting dishes I saw being served up..

Been here twice now and both times were amazing. Although I haven’t tried them the cakes look amazing. Packed out at lunchtime which shows how good it is. If you’re in the area give it a go. So far I’ve had the crushed avocado on sourdough with poached egg then today I had the quesadilla which is a good portion and reasonable for the quality of food.

Really good. They need to put menus and eating times up somewhere though so just trying to be helpful.

Waited a full hour for a salad and toastie. Customer service is non existent. Customers who came in after us got their food first (don’t know if this had anything to do with them knowing the staff!). When our food finally arrived I found a hair on my bread. Food was lovely even though we did have to wait an hour. So if you could hire more staff to work in the kitchen actually cooking the food and seriously work on your customer service skills then I suggest more visitors like myself from outside of the area would return.

Found this lovely little bakery and restaurant last year by accident and felt it a must to return again this year when in the area.

We stopped off for breakfast whilst driving the Causeway Costal Route. A charming little cafe with a great selection of cakes and lovely fresh scones. Fresh soda bread and homemade granola. Good selection for kids too- daughter enjoyed her pancakes with Nutella. We bought a sourdough loaf to take with us.

Visited today for the second time. Was there about a fortnight ago for brunch and had a lovely breakfast of toast, scrambled egg and sausages. Bread was lovely and thick with real butter. All in all, our first experience was good. The cafe is small and compact, with very little room for moving around.

I was in here last with with a couple of friends. What a place, great food, great coffee and the staff are more than helpful.

Visited the cafe today with a family member but would of walked out if i was by myself. I understand on a Saturday it will be busy but theres no where to wait for a table and you feel like your constantly in people's way. We were sat at the door where everyone would congregate to wait for a table so we had the joy of children leaning all over our table, people standing right beside you when your trying to have your lunch, the door constantly banging then the pressure of finishing your meal quickly so other people can have your table. Also received the wrong order but didn't want to complain as it was busy and to be honest just wanted it to be over and done with. Dont find the staff overly friendly and really quite a stressful place to be as a customer. Made feel abit of an inconvenience. The food generally is good but overall experience isnt great. Wouldnt be rushing to go back again.

We came upon this by accident, after visiting Rainbow, the local cat homing centre. We knew the minute we walked in it would be good, as it was heaving with people, the place was warm, cosy, friendly and the food superb. My soda bread toast with tomatoes, avocado, and poached eggs was superb. Lots of choices of teas to go with it. They sold home made jams and caramelised onion chutneys. Couldn't resist buying them as a memento of a perfect lunch.

This is honestly my faviourate coffee shop and bakery! Staff and lovely and food is worth traveling for! Its the best place to be for a date!

Just left from breakfast on Monday 28th january!! Served by Kerry, absolute dream !! So helpful and pleasant, was happy to serve us and nothing was a problem ! Everything tasted amazing and service alone will have me back :)) Thanks guys

Went to the green cat bakery with some friends for breakfast, as we walked in there there was nowhere to wait but by the front door. My friend asked how long we'd be waiting and the girl behind the counter told her that 10 mins, so we had to go back to our cars to wait as the place is so small everybody looked to be squashed in..after waiting 10 mins we went back to the bakery, where we grunted at my a member of staff (possibly the manager) we told her that we were told to come back in 10 mins her reply was "i wasn't informed of this" I was completely thrown by her attitude maybe it was because we had children with us it would brought some noise to the zero atmosphere bakery. We decided we didn't want to stay because we we're made feel very unwelcome. As we walked away this horrible member of staff came after us shouting "do yous want this table" my friend replied to her no it's fine thanks. She rolled her eyes and screwed up her face like a big child and walked back into the bakery. We will never be back in this bakery again..If your looking for a child friendly eatry go to tank & skinnys in Muff great atmosphere beautiful food and the staff couldn't do enough for us..It's the completely opposite to the Green cat bakery!!!

Second visit here, really enjoy their fresh tasty lunches and cakes. Good veggie options Warm friendly service. It gets busy so worth ringing ahead to book a table. Will definitely be back next time we're in NI

This is a lovely small bakery and cafe that serves breakfast/brunch and lunch, with afternoon tea available too. I usually go for brunch and sometimes for lunch. It's welcoming, the food it delicious, and it's very comfortable. The menu is simple but they will cook the food the way you ask for it, and the coffee is very good. There are some very odd reviews on here expressing outrage at cups, tables, and so on -- it's always very clean in my experience and the staff are very helpful if there's a problem of any kind.

What can I say...this is most definitely my favourite place for a lunch date or take away!

We decided to stop at the Green Cat on Saturday while we were passing through Eglinton. We were looking forward to a coffee . The only available table had you looking onto a wall. Why are there not suitable small tables available to accommodate small groups or couples. This is a very small premises and why are the tables very large unlike other coffee shops near to it. The tables were grubby and the floor not swept. Its a shame as it has character and could be more comfortable for the customer.Cakes are good but coffee could be better and hotter.Is the Barista trained.

I love this place and visit it regularly. I always came for the Brie and bacon salad. Arrived today to see there is a new menu. They now do more hot food and chips. The Brie and bacon now comes in an open sandwich but just not as tasty as the old salad. Not sure I’ll be back as much.

We absolutely love the Green Cat. From arrival with the lovely staff, fabulous lunch follows and of course coffee and one of their amazing sweet treats. Clean plates all round with full tummies!

I make no apologies for the title as we found this inexcusable to find the cup you had been given with your pot of Tea had a BROWN RING around it. My wife and i made no fuss yesterday when we found it just asking for the said cup to be replaced saying "Sorry could we have this changed as there is A brown ring in it" and we where greeted by the hostess with a "no bother". The said cup they replaced looked like the same cup wiped clean of Brown Ring. This was our first visit and last. We got no apology for the dirty cup .

Combing a quaintness and great food, the cafe is a lovely place to stop. The family had a great breakfast, consisting of a series of variations on Pancakes. The coffee was great, my wife had the best cappuccino in years. There is a friendly atmosphere and it appeared a popular spot for a Tuesday morning at 10am. There is a wide variety of cakes and treats. It was a lovely place to get the day started.

We arrived near lunchtime so were pleasantly surprised that they serve an all day brunch! The staff were really friendly though they were rushed off their feet! We’d heard great reports about this bakery & it was full the whole time we were there. They offer daily specials in addition to the menu & the food was lovely, good portion sizes. We had a takeaway caramel brownie which was delicious & also a jar of raspberry & vanilla jam! They also sell infused oils! The only slight negative was that the hot chocolate was very powdery but the staff were apologetic & dealt well with it. We will definitely be back to try the Eton Mess!! Loved it!

This place was a pleasure to find. Having walked for half an hour in the wrong direction, (Yup!) it was worth it when I found The Green Cat... The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, as were the clientele. The food was an exceptionally high quality, (The Pavlova was yumtastic! )and they had the 'craic' with me ( very important!) I can only highly recommend everything about this place. enjoy!

Beautiful day decided to sit outside. We ordered two scones, tea and a drink. Waited at a table, which wasn’t cleared from previous customers. Waited and waited until eventually a waitress came and informed us there were no plain scones left. We reordered a different scone asking for strawberry jam. Once again waited, no strawberry jam .... nor table cleared. Throughout the whole experience the table was never cleared despite staff walking in and out past our table obviously seeing the plates etc were not ours!!!! Definitely would not recommend this cafe to anyone, completely disappointed and staff disorganised.

Went here for brunch with daughters as we had heard from friends about it. A quaint cafe / bakery serving meals, homemade scones, cakes etc. Wooden furniture gave it a farmhouse kitchen feel that was cosy. Food was excellent and portions generous. Does a great coffee. Service was friendly and reasonably priced. Was busy mid morning. Enjoyable stop on way shopping!!!!

Have eaten here a couple of times on our way to Donegal. Lovely quirky decor and friendly staff. Good choice of menu and food delicious. The cup cakes are amazing. Very busy at lunch times which is always a good sign.
