Lovely authentic Greek food in a gorgeous little restaurant- Owner Olga and family are so friendly and helpful and the food and drinks are exceptional. We’ve eaten here on a few occasions and it has been excellent every time. Highly recommended!

Very welcoming staff and delicious food for a celebration dinner. Starters of salad and grilled peppers, followed by lamb shank and bifteki, and then orange cake and ice cream. With 2 gorgeous heart treats gifted by the owner. Thank you!

Visited here for the first time on Friday Feb 16th for dinner with some friends. Will definitely be back when we get the chance. Really nice place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely first class. The best Kleftiko I have ever tasted outside of Greece. My mate had the same and agreed with me. My wife's chicken (Kotopoulo) was absolutely delicious and my mates wife had a baked Aubergine dish from the specials board. Again absolutely delicious. The wine was lovely and at a very reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit if you like the taste of Greece.

Amazing food & excellent service, Thank you. We visited Wells for a weekend away as a group of ten. Despite a ten year celebration event we were warmly welcomed by family & staff. Absolutely wonderful evening, amazing food, friendly & attentive staff, music, dancing, & even a few raffle prizes. Our only disappointment, is we all live over an hour & a half away otherwise we would visit regularly. Thank you & best wishes for your next ten years x

Late dining table booked. Great to see it busy in January and we thought we would try something different for a change. Atmosphere and service was OK. Food on the other hand was presented well but the chicken skewers had gristle in and the pork skewers were slightly pink in the center. Was it worth the money......left to be questioned but then again its Wells so you expect it.

Absolutely lovely experience! There were 12 of us in our party, and we were in a room of our own, across the courtyard. There was a woodturning stove, and plenty of room for us to move around without fear of upsetting other diners. The food was delicious! The staff were patient, friendly and accommodating.

Really basic, bland food and terribly expensive. 1 burger meat with chips and 1 lamb kebab with chip + drinks £70. Definitely not recommended

We couldn’t fault the standard of the food or service. It was a very warm evening and we asked if we could be seated in the outside area. Unfortunately there was no space outside for the six of us so we settled down inside. However, after starters, space became available and the waiter asked if we still wanted to sit outside. When we said we did he helped us with the move and sorted us out.

This is a terrible place. My meet was burnt and had no taste. They even managed to spoil the zaziki. My boyfriends meet was not as badly burnt as mine but still very dissapointing overall

The Food was delicious the shared meze was very generous. Atmosphere was very relaxing and staff were attentive, informative and friendly.

Very disappointed, to start we had Feta and olives, just a piece of feta with oregano over it, must of come straight out of the fridge, no taste. For my main, lamb shank kleftico, very well cooked shank, but zero flavour, and the worst was my wife’s, the Greek sausages, so dry, she could hardly eat one. In fairness to the restaurant,they didn’t charge us for that meal. It all looked nice, but little flavour.

Ok environment, it needs a bit of work creating a better atmosphere all around the place and the meat could be better quality for the price.

A wonderful evening at The Greek Taverna! My partner and I ordered a selection of foods, and each one was delicious! Definitely recommend ordering a few dishes because it's too hard to choose from. A wonderful experience for our Year Anniversary weekend-getaway!

We had a fabulous time at the Taverna. The staff were cheerful and made us feel very welcome. The food tasted as good as we what we had in Santorini - the bekri (special menu), the pork sausages and the baklava were delicious! The staff also made the evening special for my daughter and wife who were celebrating their birthdays on the day. Easy to find and right next to city centre parking. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

An absolute gem ! Highly recommend we sat in the courtyard with our dog and drank mythos with the most fantastic meal and service !! Encourage everyone to go and have a little bit of Greece in Wells 👍

After an abysmal Greek culinary experience in Shepton Mallet, arrived at the Greek Taverna in Wells with some trepidation. However, I was transported back to Amorgos, where the sun shines, the staff shines and the cuisine shines too. Greek beers, wines, fizzy pop, homemade hummus, cheese, bread ... the use of Greek olive oil ... all very Greek and quite pleasant. A delight in every way!!!

Authentic Greek restaurants are not an easy find and this family run one was a welcome discovery. The opening hours are somewhat limited and I would recommend booking a table in advance. We got lucky, we arrived at opening time without a booking and were able to be accommodated as long as we vacated our table by 19.30. We enjoyed a lovely meal with good service. As we were on holiday at the time and Wells is over a 100 miles away from our home, our only regret is that we don't know when we'll have the pleasure of visiting again.

It was absolutely incredible! We came a long way from Bristol with the intention to have a meal in the Sun inn. We hadn’t made any reservations, I only called up a couple of hours before they opened. The lady on the phone was extremely polite, friendly and accommodating, and she managed to get us our reservation on the spot. The food is stunning. I am Greek, so my standards are high. I can confirm, it’s the best Greek I’ve had in the UK since living here, for the last 6 years. The restaurant is lovely and cosy, they play Greek music and it felt like home. My partner, who is English, she also loved every bit of it as well. She wants to make it known, that this feels really authentic comparing to other, Greek chain restaurants in the UK. We were really looking forward to an authentic Greek restaurant with a taste of Greece. Unfortunately we found our visit did not live up to our expectations, based on the reviews. Several of the dishes were unavailable and I chose the chicken kebab dish (I don't recall the actual name). It was very dry, the chicken was chewy and it was very unappealing when it was presented. There was very little flavours and it was basically an overpriced kebab on pitta bread. The restaurant was very busy so I can only assume we had not picked the best dishes on offer. Overall a disappointing choice of meal with no atmosphere in the restaurant.

Waited 20 minutes to even get a drink after being seated. The food was not genuine Greek, we’ve all had enough to know what is! The portions were small and dry. I had to ask for eating irons only to be told they were being washed! So very disappointing as we had taken our son there for his birthday. NOT GOOD ENOUGH in this day and age. I wouldn’t contemplate returning.

Booked for two on a Thursday evening. Choice of seating, extremely friendly staff and a lovely standard menu. Amazing specials board which we both went for with a bottle of house red. Delicious starter beautifully served followed by a main course which I have never tried before and was gorgeous. My partner's special was equally delicious. Nice desserts menu also. Good honest clean food served with passion. Great place, good atmos, knowledgeable staff and not expensive. What's not to like? Cannot wait to return. Well done guys you are a credit to Wells.

With a holiday to Greece in the summer, the evening spent at The Greek Taverna in Wells got us right in the mood. This family run restaurant was a first visit for us but won't be a last. It was so nice to find somewhere in Somerset with Mythos beer. The carpark next to the restaurant was also free after 6:00pm.

Very tasty food ! We tried the pork and chicken skewers with chips . Nicely cooked and succulent, and nicely seasoned. The orange Greek cake was delicious. Baklava was great as well and big portions. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and homey . Definitely recommend!

My wife and I had some dinner here and we absolutely loved it! We will certainly be going here more often. The food was gorgeous! Everything was really fresh and tasted authentic. We were looking for somewhere for a quick meal, we were lucky enough to stumble into here. Service and food was fabulous, with some interesting Greek beers to wash it down. Amazingly good value with it, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Wells

This was simply excellent, we hadn't booked, foolishly it seems, however they fitted us in very kindly. I'm entirely sure I'd love to eat everything on the menu and the wonderful specials board. I spent my summer's in Greece as a kid and the smells and tastes took me back as if in a dream. The stifado was unbelievable, beautifully presented, the beef melted in your mouth, the sauce was perfectly balanced, silver skin onions were sweet and the spices were exactly as I remembered as a child. The bar is well stocked with authentic Greek fare as well as many other choices. The building is lovely and airy, serene light colours yet warm and welcoming. This is for sure an all year round place to eat. The staff were a dream, super helpful and very friendly. This is in my top ten for sure..... great job!!!

Fantastic meal, everything homemade and delicious

I was really surprised to see so many positive reviews. I ordered hummus to start, which was very thin and tasteless, the pitta was okay, and I ordered the burgers for main with rice. The burgers were seasoned nicely however a little bit grisly. The rice was plain white boiled rice with no seasoning whatsoever, the meal was incredibly dry and the salad was a slice of cucumber and tomato. My husband ordered the lamb souvlaki which was so fatty and chewy and again very dry. The drinks were very expensive, £3 for a can of lemonade, I assume because they are imported. Overall the meal was bland, dry and very expensive. I would not recommend.

A pop up Greek taverna based in Wells. I saw a sign advertising and being a fan of Greek food, I decided to give it a try. The place was spacious with polite and attentive service and also offered outdoor seating in good weather. I ordered the pork souvlaki and a main village salad. The salad was alright, the olive oil used tasted thin compared to decent greek olive oil which was what I was expecting for the cost of the salad. The souvlaki chips were nice along with the tzantziki however, the bread was a little burnt, and the souvlaki was ok but nothing comparable to some of the good Greek food you get in London. Unfortunately, the price was a little high for what you got in terms of quantity and quality. I sincerely would like to see this place improve and succeed in the future.

Great restaurant, very busy on a Saturday night and that's to be expected but the service was still good.
