Gravy was slippery and slimy like ectoplasm but the fish was fresh and squirming

Excellent cod and chips. Freshly made, it was not greasy and the batter was just the right thickness. Great taste, no sauce required.

We’ve used the app a few times now. Whilst the charge for delivery comes to £3 and is a bit steep we cannot fault the food. Always fresh, hot and delivered quickly.

Hands down THE best chippy in Marple and the surrounding area! We have chips from here every Friday with work colleagues. The staff are very friendly and professional. The place is always clean and well looked after. Serves a great range of meals, including kids options. Probably the only chippy to serve decent gravy, not the opaque watery rubbish you get from other places. If you're getting chips from elsewhere you should respect your taste buds and get to The Goyt Fish Bar! Keep up the great work guys!

Oh we just had our Friday chips with meat delivered to our house, first time we have decided to do delivery as usually we just go and order but today after long shift at work and no plans for tea we decided to have delivery, well excellent it is not enough to describe food and service in general, everything was hot , delivered 10min before the expected time, nice , fresh, just perfect , Thank you so much , it is so nice not to have to cook and be able to get so nice meal , always customers , Matt

having returned from a holiday near Cambridge and endured disappointing F&C whilst there, we called here on our way home.We do not use takeaways much, but since March, we have been here 4 times, and each time we are not left disappointed. We share fish and chips, grab the mushy peas (I am not a fan of mushy peas, but these are great), carton of gravy and a buttered muffin. Nothing is ever left, cooked perfectly and it looks appetising. Thank you GFB for providing a great local service, with a smile. Now, if you did a delivery service....

Prices have gone up recently. I just paid £5.90 for pudding ,chips and curry. It was £4.40 last time I went in.

Went here for a last minute lunch and although we came just before closing they still managed to sort us something for lunch. The service was great and the food too! The social distancing measures are also brilliant and we felt really at ease while there. Would definitely be going again 5* !!

Not even the coronavirus can stop these guys producing the best fish and chips in Marple area. They were the first to put in place distancing and protective measures, which are fantastic, and the fish and chips are the same very high quality as always.Perfect light and crispy batter, good sized and quality fish, and perfect chips.This is one fantastic chippy

We were passing and called in, good fish & chips. The chips were well cooked and hot, I don't like underdone soggy chips and these were properly cooked through.

Did not know a simple chip butty could be so good. Every single time we call in for one we get piping hot, fresh chips cooked to perfection. Why can't other chippy's do it this well? This is a great chippy, only a couple of minutes from the centre of Marple, and well worth seeking out. The staff are really cheerful and friendly too.

Went here just as they were closing, was worried about getting the leftover chips but I need not have worried. The chips were lovely fresh and hot! Best ones iv had in Marple.Man that served us was delightful too! Highly recommend and won't be going anywhere else!

Calling in for a chip butty is becoming a habit! The chips are always fresh, really hot and perfectly cooked. They are so hot you can't sit in the car with them on your lap! THe staff are really friendly and helpful and service is fast and efficient. Great to see a quality chip shop can be found in an out of the way location.

Drive past looking for fast and simple take away and theirs chap was just about to close.Well luckily he didn’t!We had two times haddock & chips with mushy peas and it was cooked fresh as a daisy.I have to say it was the best fish & chips I’ve had in a long time. Not much to say about this place really! Crispy fish that's not saturated in oil, really nice chips, and generous portion sizes - No matter what you order!The only downside is that, due to popularity, the wait times can be pretty long on Fridays and Saturdays.I would definitely recommend.

Exactamente lo que quieres de una tienda de pescado y papas fritas, pescado de buena calidad, recién frito en masa crujiente y papas fritas bien cocidas que no rebosan aceite.Los tamaños de las porciones para un "fish and chips" estándar son decentes, ya que la porción de chips es muy generosa y podría satisfacer fácilmente a un adulto hambriento. No probé esto, pero creo que 2 peces y unas papas fritas grandes serían suficientes para 2 adultos, pero la próxima vez, ya que volveré.

We came across this place completely by accident, and I am so glad we did. Just off the main road between Marple and Hawk Green its easy to miss.

Friday night and this plaice (pun intended) was busy. Why? Well its so good , fresh cooked fish done to perfection. Great staff and very very good value.

A nice and spacious chippy/kebab shop, with parking area outside, friendly helpful staff on hand to help with any order, reasonably priced and freshly made.

Easy to find with parking at the front and back, great place to get fish and chips in Marple, they also do a range of kebabs and burgers with different sauces, kids meals also available for £2.80 - always busy expect to queue up but always fresh and worth the wait. Friendly staff that always work as quickly as possible usually they give kids a lolly if they are in the shop with you.

I have used the Goyt Fish Bar for many years and It has always in my opinion been The best fish and chip shop in the area. For the past two or three years it had two significant challengers for top spot in the area but I believe these challenges have gone now. However Goyt Fish Bar has also had a significant make-over which In my opinion increases its potential to a great degree. The quality of the fish chips scallops and other related items is as good as it ever was and that is excellent. It has however increased the range of its menu to an enormous degree which as far as I am concerned increases its appeal to more members of my family and I would image more people in the surrounding area. It has always been and still is my first choice for fish and chips etc, in this area.
