We didn’t eat at the restaurant but we we’re lucky enough to have Rupert come and cook for us for our wedding. It was an absolutely amazing display of chef work with a 5 course menu which highlighted the west coasts spectacular produce. Each course was extremely well thought through and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding meal. Rupert is also a genuinely lovely bloke who is passionate about serving what is local and at its very best. Can’t wait to stop by at the Gorse Bush at the next opportunity.

We were really looking forward to this meal, the menu sounded interesting. The welcome warm and I felt I had landed in a unique fine dining restaurant. The food was delicious and well presented. We had entrees of marinated mackerel crostinis ,which were very tasty. However, the portions are small, very small, well cooked and delicious, but the side of vegetables was a bit miserly. Four small new potatoes and some peas wasn't really enough for two. When the sweet menu came we hoped for a tasty filling delicacy. The Cheesecake sounded gorgeous, but was tiny and deconstructed. I have to say this will be on my weight watchers list for restaurants. If this was a capital city fine dining restaurant, the price would be justified, but we didn't even get the bread the menu suggested. I like this place, but also like value for money. So come for the cuisine, which appears fantastic. But be prepared to leave hungry.

It's very, very good. Disclaimer time: It's not cheap (£20/£25 for a main course), and portions aren't massive. So if you're wanting a basic but big hearty meal after a day in the hills, this might not be the place. But, if you want to experience some exceptionally sourced and expertly cooked local food, book a table now. Scallops to start - exceptional. Beautifully seasoned and expertly cooked. And as fresh tasting as they come. For mains: lemon sole, stuffed with crab meat accompanied by a seafood bisque - very, very good. Sides of wonderfully fresh greens and amazing deep fried mashed potato things. (The latter so good we ordered more side portions midway through.) Baklava for pudding. Oofty. To drink we had a banging chenin blanc. At £19, nicely priced. Service was relaxed, friendly and professional. Great soundtrack and atmosphere.

Really excellent food - we had scallops and the poached egg to start, venison for main, and the baklava and strawberry cheesecake for pudding. All really delicious with lots of thoughtful touches like homemade pickled cherries with the venison. All the staff were super lovely as well, we really rated the service. The restaurant itself is cosy and cute. Well worth a repeat visit!

By chance we found the Gorse Bush hoping to get a cup of tea after a long ride. They don't do tea so instead we came for dinner the next evening and it was amazing. Friendly, competent staff and the food was absolutely delicious. Highlight of our 12 day holidays in Scotland. I never write reviews so cannot find the words. But never tasted mackerel that was so excellently prepared, absolutely delicious.

Food was delicious and service was friendly, timely and effortless, however it’s expensive for the portion size. We had venison and monk fish. Two of the tiniest portions of venison I’ve ever seen served. Monk fish portion two and tiny, one beautifully cooked and the other completely overcooked. Five of us ate out for £280. That included 2 bottles of wine but the value just wasn’t there and it’s unfortunate because everything else was rather good.

I did not quite expect to find such a wonderfully decorated, relaxed little tea room / restaurant in such a remote location. The service, menu and quality are as good as anywhere you would find in a big city, but worth a bit of highland hospitality. Well worth a lunch / dinner / snack.

Our third visit to this friendly, relaxed restaurant with a laid back sound track, the smell of woodsmoke from the stove and super-friendly staff. The first dinner was the best vegan meal we'd ever had, and this evening didn't disappoint either! We were given bread and bean hummus before the meal which was garlicky and delicious. We started with a yummy roast root veg tart and slaw, which like much of the food here had an inventive twist - dressing rather than mayo, with added walnuts and blueberries. There were two vegan mains, lemon and asparagus risotto and pasta with pistachio pesto. As they both sounded good, we got one of each and swapped dishes half way through. The side dishes (included) are great - creamy potato cakes and the most delicious peas I've ever tasted, with herbs, baby onions and chili flakes! All washed down with Tattinger Champagne - fabulous! The team had made a stunning vegan dessert with us in mind after our last visit - spicy baklava in the lightest pastry with Morello cherries - on the house! Can't wait for our next visit!

What a find! We visited the Gorse Bush in Kinlochewe for dinner and were certainly not disappointed. The setting is charming, the building is the Old Village Hall, flowers outside and a warm greeting when you step through the door. We both had the Venison, which melted in the mouth served with a delicious mead sauce, accompanied by a very good portion of vegetables. The menus had fish, shellfish and vegetable options, all looked wonderful and it was difficult to choose. If you are in the area I recommend a visit it’s certainly the best restaurant we’ve been to during our time here in Scotland.

We were two hikers on the Cape Wrath Trail and had been in the hills for days and we arrived on Sunday when every place in Kinlochewe was closed. We asked if they could serve us outside as inside was full (it was really hot too) after we ordered we were offered a table inside (our first seats in a week) out of the sun. The food was superb the steak flatbread with the roasted garlic was simply stunning after hill food. We stayed for extra beers and puddings. We WILL be back and we are looking forward to it already! Probably the best place with the best service in the Highlands.

I hate to leave a critical review, and really wanted to like this place, but our visit here left us feeling we'd been ripped off. A limited menu is fine - three starters, mains and desserts on offer - but the food needs to be better. My husband had the monkfish, which was tiny, and I had the beef. The waiter told me the chef liked to serve this rare but I asked for it to be more well-done, yet was still served meat with blood oozing out of it. I couldn't eat it. Small side order of veg, and one tiny slice of bread per person, plus one drink each brought the bill to £59. We spent four days in the Highlands and this was easily the worst and most expensive meal we had.

Yes some may consider this restaurant expensive but given the supply chain issues and post Covid staffing issues in such a remote location it seemed about right. Chef/owner is clearly trying to manage his establishment and table numbers accordingly. We had a great welcome and had a local summer ale. The food was excellent especially the scallops with soufflé truly exceptional, followed by venison. All excellently cooked and presented by the front of house team. Our only complaint was the lack of decent wine by the glass especially some fizz as an aperitif or anything to go with the cheese board. Chef seems to be trying to address this with a new semi local supplier so hopefully this shortfall gets addressed as the quality of the food deserves it.

What a delightful little gem nestled in Kinlochewe. My son and I both ordered the soup of the day. Highland broth. Oh my word! Incredibly tasty. Coffee and tea for a perfect light lunch. Definitely a worthy place to eat

We were slightly apprehensive about choosing this restaurant for our wedding anniversary lunch, with it being a new enterprise, in a tin shed, and with one or two mixed reviews. However we had a wonderful experience! Service was very good and our food was amazing,...

Had read conflicting reports but decided to stop for lunch. On entering the old village hall it looked like we were in for a treat as there was plenty of other diners and the surroundings looked ok. We were seated straight away and our order...

The interior of this place is really nice (don't be fooled by the outside!). We got a friendly welcome. There is a VERY limited menu but we were hungry so ordered the lamb and pasta dish. It was a weird combination of textures and flavours...

We had a lovely sit in the garden while enjoying our coffee, hot chocolate and cake. The owner was lovely and turned out to be Belgian (we are Dutch), so we had a nice chat. If we're ever in the area again we will surely drop in again!

My husband and I went for lunch there after seeing the ‘2 courses for £14’ offer. The menu had plenty of choices of mains, 4 choices of starter and 3 choices of puddings. The service was excellent; our drinks, then our starters came quickly. Our main courses came within 10 minutes of the starters being removed. The food was tasty; had fresh ingredients and the servings were generous. The server was friendly and polite. All in all it was a delightful experience!

Don't normally do this as I read far too many negative reviews and, tbh, wonder why some folk bother. I would stay and eat here again in a heartbeat. Excellent food, the scrambled eggs is probably the best I've ever had (& I've had plenty), but the overall experience of staying at eating at LT is beyond words.

We booked online for a party of 14 and revived a very quick response and confirmation. The atmosphere and service was great, the food however was absolutely spectacular. The specials of scallops were enjoyed by a lot of my colleagues and the tuna with tempura prawns were absolutely fantastic. The kitchen was also able to cater for my colleague who is gluten free and they also enjoyed their meal!
