The chicken burger with chips was really greasy, but the service and atmosphere were great.

The cocktails / jam jars are amazing the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is a wholesome vibe

Great little hidden gem. Wish we would’ve seen more night life here. The musician made it better! The burgers and fries were good too. If I lived there, we’d be there often.

Food was great - Menu was a bit confusing - double check if its the meal deal you are going for - ours was much more expensive than I expected.

I cannot praise this establishment enough! Visited from England last week. My friends and I were made to feel so welcome. Bingo on Thursday was so much fun! Thanks to everyone who contributed to our experience.

Place is nice and was quite surprised it was as quiet on a Friday night.

Apart from the entertainment the place was as dead as the uninterested staff. No chicken wings, no hot dogs. My companions meal arrived 5 minutes before mine when mine did arrive it was minus the fries ordered so another 5 min wait. The food was below average I would not recommend it and will not be returning to eat in this establishment.

Walked into the empty bar, with only one table of people drinking. Were told to take a seat by the bar man to order food. We sat at our table for over 15mins. We were not offered a drink or asked if we were ready to order food. After saying we were in for food when we arrived. My husband observed one of the young male staff members vaping behind the bar! We sat another 5mins and still no one came to our table. So we decided to leave. My husband spoke to the young man behind the bar and the other male staff member said "oh I forgot you were there". We then left to find somewhere else to eat.

Good vibe in this bar/restaurant... Been here a few times in the past few years for annual get-togethers with friends and it is reliable for decent beverages and superb quality and very tasty food... The only slight improvement I could suggest is a more efficient or reliable method for food and drink service as we were offered both alcohol on one occasion which we hadn't ordered and on another occasion food... So the Table orders just need addressing to avoid this... Especially given we could have had STEAKS had we not let on...😄 There is access via an ope. staircase to the rooftop bar as well for those who so choose... There is a small stage where bands perform on some weekends for those looking live entertainment too... Overall, an excellent place where we will continue to return as we always have a great time there and the staff are very friendly and welcoming...👍👏

I went for a night out with friends, there was a live band playing 60s, 70s and 80s music. It was a good night apart from a lot of interference noise with the speakers. I would still go back though.

Visited Goats Toe and the manager Mark was very welcoming, advised me on the menu and overall delivered very well service as did all the staff. really nice to see a bar with a welcoming open fire 🔥

I have such a soft spot for this pub, I think it is great but I wish they'd mix up their beer selection. The same few lagers and Guinness is getting boring now. Rabbit Rooms, The Nines, Fealty's offer a much better, interesting selection of drinks but I'd rather drink at the Goats!

Super place loved it been here 40 years ago no different great food loved the steak sandwich cooked a treat £13 what's not to like

Good place to go on your lunch break

We have ate here twice recently and the food has been horrible. Ordered a platter not to long ago and it came out missing, wings which we weren't even told that there was no wings left and the waitress wasn't informed either.There was also slaw and sauce missing and the ribs were burnt. Along with this we ordered a steak sandwich and it was drenched in salt and pepper. The head chef refused us a refund. Then a group of us had food in the beer garden to be handed 2 goujons each for £8 with all served raw chips. Very disappointed ☹️

Just went here. There was a woman and man working there. Both were absolutely amazing. Friendly, worked very quickly and were perfect at their jobs. The food took a while, apparently one of the cooks was stuck abroad. Was worried. I was then given the best burger I have ever ate. It was a lil sweet which was a shock but I could never fault this burger. The fries could have used more salt but you offer salt at the table so I’m not going to cry about it. Visit there was nothing short of perfection. Thank you.

Called in for a pint and some food , ice cold pint of tennants, gammon, chips, egg ,pineapple , spot on, server very friendly, food in about 5 mins would reccomend😎👍

Lovely place and great staff. Food was grand but we ordered potato cubes and instead got potato waffle things that weren't great. Other than that everything else was nice. Staff were super though and gave water and doggy treats to my happy dog! 😍

I've been going to the Goat's Toe for years, I like it's vibe, the upstairs seating and beer garden, and it does a decent feed too. However this week we popped in on May Day, my first visit in a while. We hadn't placed a reservation but were quickly sat down at a window booth. Initial attention was quick and friendly, and we ordered a meat platter to split between two of us, along with some fries. Unfortunately it took just under an hour for food to be served from the moment of ordering. We'd been discussing the delay and getting ready to leave when the food arrived. Delays happen, but while I overheard staff apologize to other customers for the delay, nothing was said to us. And our platter arrived without the blue cheese dip and celery for the chicken wings. Once we requested it the dip arrived at least. The food itself was good, not too excessively priced, a mix of chicken, ribs and wings. Very tasty. But the service did rather mar things a bit - not least as I had brought along a first timer to the venue. Hasn't put me off returning, I've eaten here before and not had a problem - but I will be wary of further delays.

First time in Bangor. Lily Savages younger less attractive brother/sister/they/them was hilarious, the roof terrace was a welcome getaway and the students there were hilarious to watch even if they didn't mean it....bless em🤣

Went on a Sunday. Not too busy. Booked a table but got sat at the bar end rather than more comfortable lounge/restaurant but we were able to move once a table became available. Place was a bit cold. Fire was turned off before we had meal and found it quite cold. Went for the 2 course set menu but as rushing off did not notice we wer overcharged. Contacted the following day and offered refund. But had to go in to collect so as the train fare there was more I just left it. Was OK but would not be rushing back

Disasapointing experience after loving the food few years back..Veggie soup was full of onions 🧅80% onion rest other veg...tasted like french onion soup. Pie had a strange sauce it was as if they used leftovers and thrown random sauce on it. No homemade chips. Run out of salmon wellington. Took a good while before our order was taken and noone really asked for drinks order we asked ourselves. We used to love this place before Covid food was beautiful but yesterday was rather disasapointing.

Booked 3pm for three of us for lunch was there on time and ordered at 3 50 we were told it coming now When 4pm came my friends went to find out about our meal and finally got it few minutes later No apologies for having to wait over an hour and it wasn't because they were so many people in as this was not the case We thought they had forgotten the order

Went in for a quiet pint on a Monday and there was live music with a nice atmosphere. I would definitely be back for a pint. The staff were also very nice.

We tried the new £10 evening menu - Salmon Wellington with Champ for me and open Steak sandwich for my wife Both were delicious and good sized portions - excellent value This was our first visit to the Goats Toe and we will definitely be back

Love the Goats Toe. I wish I could be there every Thursday night for bingo but unfortunately I start work far too early the next day. On the rare day off my husband and I make a special effort to go and enjoy the delicious food before all the bingo antics.

Seemingly, a hidden location. But well worth the venture. Nice bar, even better food. And you couldn't beat the price. So, ticks all the boxes.

Brilliant wee bar lovely staff food is great and a really friendly atmosphere

Lovely premises, very reasonably priced. £52 for four mains, three non-alc drinks and one Jack and Coke. Seated immediately, drinks order about a minute later, and food order five minutes later. I've seen other reviews about poor service but I had absolutely no issues. Service was quick, waitress was very hospitable. Other waitstaff I interacted with were also lovely, fantastic service. The food arrived quickly, steaming hot, and was absolutely Divine. I had the sugar pit pork which was fall apart tender, with delicious smooth champ, slightly oily but gorgeous vegetable crisps, and a sauce that I could honestly drink. I would eat my first born child if it was cooked here and I will definitely be back.

Good guinness but not comfortable seating.

Normally I really like goats, but stopped in for lunch with a friend during work, place wasn't busy but had to wait over an hour for food after ordering, when we finally got it some was freezing the steak was way undercooked. We just ate it cause at this point we'd been out for 2 hours. The wait staff were great, and apologetic, no issues with them at all

All right most of the time, bit pricey but so is everywhere, reason for the low rating is that I was sitting upstairs thinking about my time in the army when a lovely man around a similar age to myself walked through the door and before I could say five floppy flash drives I had him in a head lock telling him to surrender in Korean. I quickly left feeling embarrassed as this was not the man's fault but mine. I have failed you all I am so sorry

I usually like this Pub for drinks. I chose to bring my kids here for lunch and food was pretty poor I had traditional fish and chips I could give the chunky chips a thumbs up at least . the fish was not good at all and then they served peas in a mini B&b jam jar enough to fit maybe 5 pathetic peas literally taking the peas out of you! I complained the to waiter and he offered nothing ….. he just went on to have a laugh about the pea jam jar with the bar staff My daughter didn’t enjoy her food either very dry over cooked chilli chicken over all waste sauce of money knowing what you can get from several pubs around Bangor . 100% won’t be bring my kids for lunch again .

Where do I start... Was seated and after 10 minutes had to ask for a menu after another family were seated after us and handed menus. 5 minutes later we got asked if we'd like drinks which we ordered and came promptly. Noticed the table seated after us got their order taken around the same time as this. Waited a further 15 minutes and still no order taken, waitress asked us if we'd ordered to which we said no. She then decided to run a few errands around the restaurant instead of taking our order. As we were getting up to leave the waitress finally decided to come take our order and told her not to bother we were leaving as we had waited far too long. A sarcastic reply of no problem was received with not as much as an apology. We ended up paying for our drinks and taking our business elsewhere. I should point out we stayed longer than another family who arrived and no order was taken from them either. They also left disappointed. In total we were in around 35-40 minutes. As a first time visitor I certainly won't be back, the place wasn't particularly busy when we entered and looked nice but I don't know how they'll survive if two out of three families are leaving due to lack of service.

Reasonably priced cocktails, friendly atmosphere but younger crowd (18 to 20s) but you could sit and have a quiet drink downstairs and there’s live music at the weekends.

Top tier bar! Fun atmosphere, staff and with Yo Burger upstairs no need for an after kebab! Good fun!

I adore the goats toe!!! It’s the best bar in Bangor!! I’ve been here three times and I just was here tonight with my friends! The food is delicious, the music choices are great and the atmosphere is so positive and upbeat. It’s a great place to go to for a Friday night and I’ll be coming back here many times again!

Booked for st Valentine's meal for two. Friendly welcome, very efficient staff. Food was absolutely top notch. Steak was the tenderest I've ever eaten and cooked to perfection. Best of all was the presentation of every course. This chef is clearly passionate about what he does. A lovely experience altogether. Super bar with great cocktails being served too. Will be back soon. Highly reccommended. 👌

We went here for drinks last night. We didn’t have to wait long to get in. It was really busy so drinks took a while sometimes but they were really apologetic about it. Had a fab night and the staff were so so nice. Would 100% recommend this place for a night out and a few drinks.

Cold food and awful service. No steak knives given. Tablets left on table. Rubbish experience
