The George Inn in Maidstone

Really disappointed. We’ve eaten here before and the food was lovely. We took friends here at the weekend and the food had really gone downhill. Lamb shank was cold in the middle and had to be sent back. Veggie lasagne was only lukewarm. The fish pie wasn’t great either. So disappointing as we had told our friends what lovely food they done. Sadly won’t be returning.

Went for a coffee after visiting Leeds Castle's Go Ape, and ended up getting a few sides (Chips, Onion Rings, Sweet Potato Fries and Nachos) which were perfectly cooked. The staff were attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble, despite only having a small bill. We will definitely return for a Sunday roast soon!

Fantastic food & friendly service

Great food our food was lovely and hot which was a change from some places.its a very popular pub Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The only drawback is the parking, we ended up in the church carpark, bit of a walk but well worth it. Lovely to see they are busy lunchtime in the week.

A very friendly and warm atmosphere selling a good range of food in the restaurant. 4 of us dined for lunch having a mix of Steak and Vegetable Fajitas. The food was hot and wholesome with good sized portions which would settle most healthy appetites. The staff were on point, friendly and swift. A very good range of desserts were also available but for most of us was a 'step too far' having been filled by the mains. I reccommend a visit and felt it was definitley value for money.

The George has a pleasant atmosphere. The food is well prepared and tastes delicious.

Brilliant family lunch at the George today. The team were friendly and helpful and made my husband's birthday lunch a lovely occasion. Great location close to Leeds Castle and a beautiful pub too.

Excellent Sunday roast. Friendly staff and very efficient service. I had a Lamb shank, which was full of meat and great size portions. Sunday roast served all day and highly recommended.

very poor Small Sirloin Steak just one large mushroom with a slice of uncooked tomato on top and just 11 chips oh if you want some sauce its £4.70 on top what crap very poor No Cheff would dish that up. must be a pot washer who thinks he can cook

Lovely boxing day meal, excellent service, friendly staff.

Was recommended but wish we hadn’t bothered. Staff were unfriendly and definitely felt like a locals pub and outsiders weren’t welcome. Had to wait ages for menus and to be served , then food took a while to come. Would not recommend and definitely wouldn’t return

Lovely Kentish village pub at the heart of the community. I had a sausage and onion sandwich on ciabatta roll - and it came with chips and salad! My wife went for a light prawn cocktail. Great service and very friendly.

Nice pub for food and drinks with proper service for a change! Thanks to all the staff and have a great Xmas. Parking can be tricky when busy as not many side roads to park on when car park full.

I’ve often eaten here with my elderly parents and loved the home cooked food and atmosphere. When my Dad passed away we decided to hold a celebration of his life here, as it was his favourite local. We hired “The Hayloft” and it was an absolutely amazing space. The food was exceptional and service superb. Every guest complimented the location, food and service so thank you Jason and your amazing wife, you and your team looked after us and did my Dad proud. Driven passed lots of times, always looks welcoming. Had our Christmas meet up on Tuesday and wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent, service was spot on, the atmosphere was full of Christmas. This will NOT be my last visit. Thank you for a very happy evening.

The George managed to squeeze us in at the last minute, in an already busy pub. On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Food and drink ordering was fast and the wait for our food was minimal. Food arrived really hot and was tasty, proper pub grub. Would definitely go again.

Lovely pub. Only 3 minutes down the road from Go Ape at Leeds Castle. Friendly staff and food for all 3 of us (1 adult, 2 kids) was spot on.

Hired the Hay Barn for a surprise 60th birthday. The team at The George Inn helped plan the event to perfection. The room is private, warm, beautifully decorated and full of character, seating for 40 and a bar available. We were served a super delicious buffet by friendly staff, it made for a most memorable day. Highly recommend.

I was recommended The George Inn as a place for a good pub lunch and we were not disappointed - I love a pub lunch and this was one of the best pub lunches I've ever had! The food was really yummy - fresh, good portions - I had the curry of the day and it was so tasty - my daughter stole my poppadom! I had a glass of wine too which was a very good chardonnay. The pub was a bit further out that we would usually travel for a pub lunch but it was worth it and we'll definitely be visiting again.

Staying at Leeds Castle for a few days we have now eaten at the George Inn twice! The staff are super friendly and the food is delicious! Large portions (beat us every time) and very tasty. Would heartily recommend anyone to go here.

We were to late for the Sunday lunch, but we had the lamb shank, which was delicious, and plenty full. We couldn’t manage a dessert, so can’t comment on that.

After a long day at Leeds Castle we decided to pop five minutes up the road to this pub and we were not disappointed. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was amazing (although watch out the portions are huge) and very reasonably...

Really lovely little spot, beautiful patio and garden area. Food was hot and delicious we couldn't fault it. Only gripe was it took a long time between courses, and we both became a bit restless at waiting.

Had dinner here on Thursday 27th July and the service was fantastic, friendly atmosphere and lovely meals. There is a road closure and there are some deals on child meals which we were pleasantly surpised with! I would recommend searching this place out for a lovely meal, especially the special sizzling pork.

Great dinner spot. Quaint but roomy pub. Staff and atmoshpere were incredible. Think traditional pub and you are there. All the main dishes are here, with a little culinary flair that sets this place apart. The lamb and bangers were amazing, gravy for the mash is top grade. Desserts were as great as the main, reccomend the custard 100% on any steamed pudding. Thanks to the staff for an amazing time
