Hooray, Hooray the best news from Llwyngwril today, the tennants from the Garth are on their way. Roll on May and best wishes to the replacement tennants.

Went for a family meal on our last night of an Easter break were all more than happy with the lovely meal, drinks and friendliness of the staff

Family together for husbands 70th birthday. They were so helpful as 2 members are Celiac. Everyone's meal was lovely 😍

On arrival there was no warm welcome or conversation. The pub was cold, no music, deadly silent. We were told that there was only a bar menu available, not much choice and the burger wasn’t available, my husband and I had the scampi and the sausage, chips and egg. There was no fish in the scampi and the sausage was full of gristle, definitely all frozen food. It’s safe to say we won’t be going back there. It doesn’t give me the option to reply to the owners comment, yes the bar staff said hello but no more conversation, yes we were asked if the food was ok and I politely said yes as I am a nice person and don’t want to cause a fuss, the plate was empty as the dog ate the sausage, she refused the scampi which was left on the plate. We run a very successful busy pub ourselves so know how to create a warm welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Food and service was outstanding definitely go there again.

Very nice place indeed. The Butty Bach ale was lovely and whilst I didn't eat - large lunch- the fam did and approved very much of both main course and desert. Boss was nice and chatty too, so with one night of hols left, we might head back tomorrow. Highly recommended.

Nice place. We were made very welcome and the dog 🐕. The food was nice they had a reduced menu on Tuesday. We were told the weekend menu is better

Had another delicious meal at the Garth on Friday, second in a few weeks, Fabulous steak dinner with friends on Friday cooked perfectly and risotto with sea bass the week before…. Fantastic meals both times, Thankyou… Keith and Yvonne Maiden

I was out with my son and his girlfriend, it was after lunchtime menu, which is why there were no onion rings! The price stayed the same though, hence a star less. I had the halloumi burger and chips, he and his girlfriend had the steak. He was raving about it. Said it was cooked just right. And he's a bit of a foodie! We sat outside in the "stable" area, enjoyed comparing the painting on the wall to people we know. Lovely vibe to the place: it was pre-high season so nice and relaxed, we didn't have to vacate our table for other people. Then a stroll down to the beach. Lovely day.

The Garthamgharad was great and served us even though we arrived just as they were closing their kitchen! The food was excellent and the beer selection was also very good. They were able to accommodate a gluten-free diet too!

Great pub for eating but book , not a big place to eat ,especially now the pool table is were there was tables

So we always pop to this place when we are in the area as the food is restaurant quality with a lovely atmosphere of a traditional pub the staff are all friendly and accommodating they allow us to take our 4 dogs in and feed them too with sausage or steak depends on what’s in , actually heading there today for lunch

We both had the Welsh burger with cheese & bacon toppings. The burger seemed a bit over cooked and my bacon was a bit fatty, but otherwise their usual high standard. We sat out in the beer garden to enjoy the quiet.

Visited the pub a couple of times, we had Scampi and Hunters chicken on the first visit and both had Lasagne on the second visit. The food is good, home cooked and the beer was good too,

Lovely pub with nice outside space. Food was great and all staff were friendly and welcoming.

Visited as a family of 5 with 2 children. Good choice on the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. We did have to wait a little for the pies to be cooked as they were cooked fresh, but we didn’t mind that at all as the staff explained when we were ordering. Staff were very polite and attentive, and the food was tasty. Worth a visit!

Great meals , great staff and beer, great place

Went on Friday evening. The adults had the Steak special and the eldest child a burger and the youngest the children’s menu. We were all very satisfied and had good service at the table. Good beer as well.

Had a shared garlic bread starter followed by two main dishes; chilli and cottage pie. Struggled to finish these but too good to leave. Excellent service as usual.

Fantastic local pub with an extensive menu, prices were reasonable and the mother's day meal we had was amazing, plus our dog was made to feel welcome too.

Great pub/restaurant. Very welcoming to us and our dog. Friendly staff and very tasty food. They even brought out some freshly cooked chicken for our dog. Good experience, would recommend it!

Absolutely amazing. Chef explicitly made sure my butter wasn't cross contaminated even realising a all amount of gluten could affect a coeliac like me. Very friendly staff extremely welcoming and helpful. Recommend ❤️

This pub is charming, the food was delicious, very friendly staff, it’s a gem in this beautiful village. It was the perfect way to end our holiday!!

Just as well we don’t live here been in again for tea the food is amazing, back in on Saturday morning for breakfast 3 minutes walk from the cottage too.

Greeted by a genial barman and a surly woman, we should have recognised the signs quicker. We parked behind the pub which was in retrospect, ambiguously signed as private but with two spaces for staff. We parked well away from the staff places taking the rest to be customer parking. Six of us ate a bog standard pub meal but in recognition of the amiable barman we left a substantial tip. After our meal we took a walk down to the beach leaving our cars innocently in the pub car park. On our return we discovered our cars locked in by a chain across the entrance. Clearly someone thought it a reasonable action to detain us and our cars for no apparent reason. We remonstrated with the barman who said “Jane” had locked us in and gone to her daughter’s. We began to wonder if we had wandered into an alternative reality. After about 15 minutes we were on the brink of calling the Police. The barman appeared at that moment with the keys. We escaped. A sign was left on a car saying that signs clearly showed it was a private car park. That signage was at best ambiguous and at worst downright misleading. We will not be returning.

Spent a week on holiday in Llwyngwrill. Started with an excellent cooked breakfast here on the Saturday morning, and ended with an excellent meal and a fun pub quiz on the Thursday night. Very friendly, with nice food and beer.

We have been to this place a few times now and the food and beer has always been great. Great service off everyone but Ned made our first meal here very enjoyable. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area.

Fantastic food and excellent service, even though there was a problem with the kitchens and only able to provide, fish and chip dinners, myself being allergic to fish, the owner went above and beyond.. and had a excellent burger made for me from fresh.. which I was so thankful for.. many thanks to an excellent team..

Lovely little pub. You’ll need to book if you want food at a weekend or over summer as it’s only small but great food and people. There’s also a tap room, pool table, darts boards, duke box and decent out door space.

I just wanted to say a massive Thankyou to Jane and all the staff at the Garthangharad Pub from the weekend of the 25th March to the 27th March. We were visitors at The Big House on the Sea 23 of us and all our needs were catered for and more. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming and they could not do enough for us. All the meals were excellent value for money and I would highly recommend anyone to pay them a visit. I would hope that we do get back to see you all for a visit in the future. Thank you to Jane and all the staff for making us (23 of us 😳) feel so welcome over the last weekend while we were staying at The Big House by the Sea, breakfasts, evening meals and Sunday roast were spot on ,and great value for money. We stayed in ty gwyn big house by the sea and ate at this pub for our breakfasts and had a Sunday roast with sticky toffee pudding for afters . The people that ran the pub were busy but managed to accommodate us very easily...

We go here regularly when in the area and the sunday dinner (nut roast/chicken) today was just delicious. Creamy roast potatoes abs plenty of veg. Lovely brownie for afters. Always lovely service too.

Lovely proper pub. This is the sort of place that you wish was your local. Generous portions of food, everything we had was brilliant. Great with small kids, they even brought the kids meals out first which I always appreciate. Friendly service, the young lad serving was delightful. Excellent value for money. Will return when next in the area.

We enjoyed a first class family meal at this very friendly local pub in the pretty village of Llwyngwril. Traditional pub menu cooked very well and accompanied by well kept real ales. Very friendly owners and our young waiter was an absolute credit, always smiling...

The whole family came here for my father in law's birthday and it was absolutely lovely. We were 6 adults & 3 children and we were all catered for exceptionally despite 4 of us being vegan. We called prior to the meal asking if they catered for vegans and they made a vegan nut roast to order with roasted vegetables which was absolutely delicious. My parents had the beef! The young lad that served us was so polite and very lovely and the landlady couldn't do enough for us. Really impressed with the service and 100% recommend the food. Thank you all so much - it really made my father in law's birthday.

Lovely historic village pub/restaurant very friendly staff and hosts although restaurant fully booked, we ate in the small bar (only two tables) which is next to the restaurant. Food very good, service excellent, certainly recommended if you are anywhere near Llwyngwril. Very popular as only pub in village so booking pretty much essential. Closed Mondays, kitchen 5-8.30. Open from 4.00 pm weekdays, 12.00 weekends.

Popped in here whilst camping in the village for a quick bite. The kitchen had just closed but they still agreed to cook for us. Service was quick and friendly and the food was tasty.

Myself, husband and children have been to this pub that should only be allowed to serve drinks. The food was the most awful meal that we couldn’t eat, due to uncooked veg,stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. Got charged extra for gravy. Please see pictures…….DO NOT EAT...

Friendly village pub serving great food at reasonable prices.

We booked a table for evening meal which was very straightforward. Just took a phone call. When we arrived the staff were very polite and friendly. The staff were wearing face covers and all through the pub it was very clean and covid secure. The food was really good, and if I can give anyone some advice, it's to save room for desert cause you have to try the lemon cheesecake. It was perfection on a plate. Will definitely be coming here again next time were in the area.

It was quite hard to get a booking for Sunday roast lunch, so our expectations were high! But, whilst we couldn't fault the eager-to-please serving lad, the meal was frankly a disappointment. Most notably, the nubbin of brocolli had had all it's bobbules boiled off...

Did not like the fact we had to pay up front before the meal was served. We had a meal outside and had a smoker stood upwind of us with no concern of our dislike of the smell and irritation whilst eating. Did not think the meal was anything special either and will not be returning or recommending.
